  • Lipoblastoma is a rare benign neoplasm occurring exclusively in children below the age of three years. It affects chiefly the upper and lower extremities, and less commonly head and neck area, trunk, mediastinum, mesentery, and retroperitoneum. We present two cases of lipoblastoma occurring in the mediastinum of a 21-month-old boy and in the back of a 15-month-old boy. The characteristic features of Fine needle aspiration cytology smears were the presence of immature fat cells in the form of spindle-shaped cells, stellate cells and vacuolated lipoblasts along with lipocytes against a myxomatous background. Two tumors were histologically confirmed to be lipoblastomas. Lipoblastoma can be cytologically diagnosed by considering the cytologic findings and the age of the patient.

  • Malignant triton tumor(MTT) is a rare type of malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor(MPNST) with focal rhabdomyoblastic differentiation. MTT constitutes about 5% of all MPNSTs and described the first case of a MTT in a patient with Von Recklinghausen disease by Masson in 1932. MTT is commonly seen in the head, neck, extremities and trunk. It can occur in sporadic form or over a setting of neurofibromatosis-1(NF-1). The diagnosis can be confirmed based on morphologic grounds supported by an immunostain such as S-100 protein. Desmin, myo-D1 and myogenin are immunostains positive for rhabdomyoblasts. MTT has an aggressive biological behavior so prognosis of this rare and highly malignant tumor is poor and optimal treatment remains unclear. But modern treatment consisted of radical excision and postoperative radiotherapy has improved the prognosis of such cases.

  • Objectives: This study aims to report a case of chronic nummular dermatitis improved by Hwangryunagyo-tang. Methods: The patient in this study was a 15-year-old female, who visited our hospital with symptoms such as redness, erythema, papule, excoriation, scale, exudation, crusting, lichenification, and pruritus of the extremities and trunk. Considering that the skin lesions were coin-shaped and persisted for more than 6 months, the patient's symptoms were diagnosed as chronic nummular eczema. Based on the patient's symptoms and overall condition, Hwangryunagyo-tang was prescribed. Results: Approximately 4 months after administration of Hwangryunagyo-tang, the exudate disappeared, and overall skin symptoms improved, from objective score 33.7 to 6.6, leaving only slight scale, dryness, and pigmentation. As the pruritus of the skin lesion decreased from numeric rating scale 8 to 1, the patient's sleeping condition also improved from numeric rating scale 9 to 0. Conclusion: This study is significant in that the symptoms of chronic nummular dermatitis were effectively improved after administration of Hwangryunagyo-tang.

  • Purpose: Paraquat is the most commonly used herbicide in Korea. Exposure to paraquat through the skin has resulted in local irritation or inflammation of varying degree, sometimes severe. The purpose of this study was to review the patients with paraquat poisoning by skin absorption. Methods: We analysed retrospectively the clinical and laboratory findings of 45 patients with paraquat poisoning after dermal exposure, who were admitted to Soonchunhyang University Cheonan Hospital from January 1999 to December 2003. Results: Among 870 cases of paraquat poisoning, 45 cases were exposed to paraquat through the skin. The peak incidence was the fifth decade($40\%$). The clinical symptoms were pain, pruritus, nausea, and vomiting. The major skin lesions were generalized vesicobullae and necrotic erosion in face, scrotum, trunk, upper and lower extremities and etc. All patients were survived after skin contact or inhalation of paraquat. Conclusion: This study illustrates the extreme toxicity of paraquat and demonstrates that lethal quantities of paraquat may be absorbed if repeated exposure to it. Stricter precautions, including the mandatory use of protective clothing, should be recommended whenever this material is used.

  • Unlike production line works, construction work is non-repetitive in nature. In this study, a checklist was developed to characterize the ergonomic hazards of construction work. Eight existing checklists including OWAS, RULA, and REBA were integrated, and a new version was designed to include more postures of lower extremities. The analysis results obtained using the new checklist showed that manual materials handling (MMH) is the most common risk factor. About 62% of the MMH was done below the knee level or above the elbow level, and 22% was carried out with the trunk twisted more than $60^{\circ}$. The next risk factors were the works done with the knee bent or squatted, or with the shoulders abducted. It can be concluded that the new checklist is successful as a quick and easy tool for screening risk factors of construction works, although it is not capable of determining action levels. Further studies on validation of the checklist are expected.

  • The pelvic girdle function as an integrated unit with all three bones moving at all three joints, are influenced by the lower extremities below and vertebral column and trunk above sacroiliac movements are caused by spinal motion, whereas iliosacral movements are caused by movements of the lower limbs. Concept of normal functional integration among the lumbar spine, pelvic and hip joint is basic to the understanding of dysfunction in this region and also functional movement of the lumbo-pelvic-hip region are part of the clinical examination, consequently the integrated biomechanics of these region need to be understood. The purpose of this review is to ascertain the integrated biomechanics among the lumbo-pelvic-hip complex by consideration of literature and to give sufficient information to be able to render accurate assessment and treatment for the syndromes described.

  • The malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor(MPNST) is an extremely rare soft tissue sarcoma of ectomesenchyme also known as malignant schwannoma or malignant neurilemoma. It is a highly malignant sarcoma, which is locally invasive, frequently leading to multiple recurrences and eventual metastatic spread. The peak incidence of this disease is known to arise in the seventh decades. In human body, trunk and extremities are the most commonly involved sites, and only 8-14% of all lesions appear in head and neck region. Because immunohistochemical staining is essential in final diagnosis. The authors report a case of malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor in neck with hypopharyngeal cancer simultaneously on a review of the literature.

  • The malignant fibrous histiocytoma was the most common soft tissue sarcoma in late life adult. It was first described in 1964 by 0' Brien and Stout. It's histiogenesis had been considered to be of histiocytic origin. It Involves the extremities, retroperitoneum and trunk. It usually metastasizes to the lung. but primary lung lesion is extremly rare and it's prognosis was poor. We have experienced a case of MFR, which was confirmed by open lung biopsy. So we report a case of MFR of the lung with review of literature.

  • Desmoid tumor is a type of fibromatosis usually arise in deep musculo-aponeurotic structures, primarily of the trunk and extremities. It is characterized by proliferation of fibroblastic tissue and does not metastasize but may be locally aggressive. Eventhough the surgical margin reveals clean, recurrence often occurs. To analyze the extent of the tumor and homodynamic characteristics exactly, we performed IV bolus CT. Desmoid tumors show peripheral rim enhancement on early phase scan and more strong, central enhancement on late phase IV bolus CT, which reflects abundant fibroblastic components of the tumor. We report two cases of pathologically confirmed desmoid tumor performed IV bolus CT.

  • Malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor (MPNST), a rare soft-tissue sarcoma, is most commonly located in the trunk, extremities, and head and neck, but rare in the breast. We report a metastatic breast MPNST in a 27-year-old woman with neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF-1). Chest computed tomography revealed a well-defined, oval, mildly enhancing nodule in the right breast. US revealed a circumscribed, oval, heterogeneous echoic mass with vascularity and intermediate elasticity in the right upper outer breast. The breast mass was excised and diagnosed as MPNST on histopathology evaluation. Although rare, it should be included in the differential diagnosis of breast mass in NF-1 patient.
