Lane extraction is basically required for a driving car to understand its external road environments via a camera. In this paper, a lane extraction method using "Sobel Intensity Profile" is described. The Sobel intensity profile is obtained using only vertical edge components of Sobel edge outputs, and used to yield fitted lines for lanes. The RANAC algorithm is applied to fit lines using only inliers. Experimental results have shown the reliability of the proposed lane extraction method.
This paper proposes an efficient method for 3-dimensional capacitance extraction based on Finite Element Method(FEM). This method expands the conventional FEM by adopting variable division. This method improves the extraction efficiency 2 to 100 times and even the accuracy 1% to 3% when compared to the conventional FEM with equal division. The Proposed method can be used efficiency to extract electrical parameters of on/off-chip interconnects in VLSI systems.
In order to extract the curcuminoid such as curcumin, demethoxycurcumin (DMC), and bisdemethoxycurcumin (BDMC) in turmeric (Curcuma longa), solvent extraction methods (dipping and ultrasonic extraction method) and solid-phase extraction (SPE) were used. RP-HPLC (reverse-phase high-performance liquid chromatography) and TLC (thin-layer chromatography) were used for identification and analysis the three curcuminoid. From the experimental results, it is evident that the percentage of curcuminoid extracted from turmeric by ultrasonic extraction method was higher than dipping method. The percentage of curcumin extracted from turmeric by pure methanol was higher than any aqueous methanolic composition. Moreover, the total peak area of three curcuminoid was above 92% in RP-HPLC using solid-phase extraction. These results will form a database for investigating the constituents of natural products and the resources of pharmaceutical, nutrition, and cosmetic products.
The objetives of this study are to set up optimum extraction temperature, time and organic solvent for propolis extraction, to investigate chemical properties, and to develop health foods from propolis preparation. In this study, ethanol and ultrasonic extracts method performed to optimum extraction temperature was at 60, $20^{\circ}C$, optimum extraction time was at 12, 4 hours and optimum extraction amount of solvent was at 20, 15 times of propolis weight. When various ethanol solutions were used, whereas flavonoid content was highest in 70, 80% aqueous ethanol, respectively. So the ultrasonic extracts method used gave better results than the ethanol extracts method in this work. Extraction of propolis with etanol and ultrasonic extracts method was performed by using the water and various concentrations of aqueous ethanol as solvent. Sensitivity of propolis samples to Staphylococcus aureus was investigated and the results were shown. Samples of water extract did not inhibit microbial growth, where as 50% aqueous ethanol extract the largest inhibitory zone for Staphylococcus aureus, then decreased inhibition with increasing ethanol concentrations.
We previously isolated cordycepin, guanosine and tryptophan from Cordyceps militaris as antiadipogenic constituents. For the quality control of C. militaris for anti-adipogenic activity, simultaneous analytical method using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC)-diode array detection (DAD) was developed and validated. Quantitation of these compounds in various Cordyceps samples from different sources and various extraction methods were conducted using developed method. Our study shows that natural Cordyceps and host insect possess higher content than cultured ones and fruiting bodies, respectively. The content of cordycepin showed great difference in different C. militaris samples whereas trytophan content was similar in tested samples. Addition of water to extraction solvent greatly increased the yield of guanosine and tryptophan. High temperature and longer extraction time increased yield of guanosine, whereas the content of trytophan was decreased in high temperature during extraction with water. Extraction using ultrasonic apparatus slightly increased extraction efficiency. Cordycepin, however, has little variation in different extraction method tested. Strong anti-adipogenic activity was observed in the samples that contain all the three constituents. Taken together, quantitation of these compounds using developed analytical method might provide basic requirement for the anti-adipogenic activity of C. militaris.
The simultaneous analysis of 11 semi-volatile organic acid compound which are listed as priority pollutants by EPA, were performed by GC/MS-SIM(selected ion monitoring). Two extraction procedures, sonication extraction and Soxhlet extraction, were studied as an extraction and concentration method for priority pollutants in soil. Accurecy and precision of the methods were measured by the calculation of mean recovery, mean relative standard deviation, and method detection limit. Finally, limitations and prospects were discussed.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to assess the risk of ingestion exposure of lead by particle sizes of crumb rubber in artificial turf filling material with consideration of bioavailability. Methods: This study estimated the ingestion exposure by particle sizes (more than 250 um or less than 250 um) focusing on recyclable ethylene propylene diene monomer crumb rubber being used as artificial turf filling. Analysis on crumb rubber was conducted using body ingestion exposure estimate method in which total content test method, acid extraction method and digestion extraction method are reflected. Bioavailability which is a calibrating factor was reflected in ingestion exposure estimate method and applied in exposure assessment and risk assessment. Two methods using acid extraction and digestion extraction concentration were compared and evaluated. Results: As a result of the ingestion exposure of crumb rubber material, the average lead exposure amount to the digestion extraction result among crumb rubber was calculated to be $1.56{\times}10^{-4}$ mg/kg-day for low grade elementary school students and $4.87{\times}10^{-5}$ mg/kg-day for middle and high school students in 250 um or less particle size, and that to the acid extraction result was higher than the digestion extraction result. Results of digestion extraction and acid extraction showed that the hazard quotient was estimated by about over 2 times more in particle size of lower than 250 um than in higher than 250 um. There was a case of an elementary school student in which the hazard quotient exceeded 0.1. Conclusions: Results of this study confirm that the exposure of lead ingestion and risk level increases as the particle size of crumb rubber gets smaller.

The purpose of this study was to validate alternative method by using non-carcinogenic, and less toxic solvents than NIOSH analytical method 5524 for measuring the airborne MWFs in workplaces. In laboratory tests, the ETM solvents(mixture of same volume for ethyl ether, toluene, and ethanol) were selected. The alternative method of analyzing MWFs, referred to as the ETM solvent extraction method, showed 0.04 mg/sample as LOD, and 0.15 mg/sample as LOQ. The analytical precision (pooled CV, coefficient of variation) of the ETM solvent extraction method for analyzing the straight, soluble, semisynthetic, and synthetic metalworking fluid was 1.5%, 2.0%, 2.6%, 1.6%, respectively, which was similar to the precision (2.6%) of NIOSH analytical method (NIOSH 0500) for total dust. The analytical accuracy by recovery test, spiked mass calculated as extractable mass, was almost 100%. As the result of storage stability test, metalworking fluid samples should be stored in refrigerated condition, and be analyzed in two weeks after sampling. The 95% confidence limit of the estimated total standard error for the ETM solvent extraction method for analyzing the straight, soluble, semisynthetic, and synthetic metalworking fluid was ${\pm}12.6%$, ${\pm}12.5%$, ${\pm}14.0%$, and ${\pm}13.6%$, respectively, which satisfied the OSHA sampling and analytical criteria.

In this paper, an extraction method of objects of interest in the color images is proposed. It is possible to extract objects of interest from a complex background without any prior-knowledge based on the proposed method. For object extraction, Gator images that contain information of object location, are created by using Gator filter. Based on the images the initial location of attention windows is determined, from which image features are selected to extract objects. To extract object, I modify the previous method partially and apply the modified method. To evaluate the performance of propsed method, precision, recall and F-measure are calculated between the extraction results from propsed method and manually extracted results. I verify the performance of the proposed methods based on these accuracies. Also through comparison of the results with the existing method, I verily the superiority of the proposed method over the existing method.
The paper presents three machine learning based keyphrase extraction methods that respectively use Decision Trees, Na$\ddot{i}$ve Bayes, and Artificial Neural Networks for keyphrase extraction. We consider keyphrases as being phrases that consist of one or more words and as representing the important concepts in a text document. The three machine learning based keyphrase extraction methods that we use for experimentation have been compared with a publicly available keyphrase extraction system called KEA. The experimental results show that the Neural Network based keyphrase extraction method outperforms two other keyphrase extraction methods that use the Decision Tree and Na$\ddot{i}$ve Bayes. The results also show that the Neural Network based method performs better than KEA.
