A Study on Organizational Citizenship Behaviors and Service Quality as External Effectiveness of Contact Employees for Deluxe Hotel in Seoul (특급호텔 서비스종사원의 조직적 시민행동과 역할외적 행위가 고객의 서비스품질에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this is to understand critical roles of contact employees' organization citizenship behaviors (OCBs) in customers' evaluation of service quality. This paper examines the relationship of employees' OCBs with job satisfaction, trust in manager, and customer's perceived service quality in deluxe hotel. The empirical results show that contact employee' job satisfaction and trust in manager are significantly related to OCB and that their active engagement in OCB has a positive relationship with the perception of service quality. Although there exists a significant common method factor possibly influencing the strength of the relationship, this factor did not affect the overall pattern of significant relationship. Another notable finding indicates that, unlike a global OCB measure, path estimates in the relationship of job satisfaction and trust to OCB variable are not similar and suggests that the multiple facets of OCBs provide more detailed information than a global OCB.

  • This paper describes automatic gain control circuit (AGC) design techniques for CMOS CCD camera interface systems. The required gain of the AGC in the proposed system is controlled directly by digital bits without conventional extra D/A converters and the signal settling behavior is almost independent of AGC gain variation at video speeds. A capacitor-segment combination technique to obtain large capacitance values considerably improves the effective bandwidth of the AGC based on switched-capacitor techniques. A proposed layout scheme for capacitor implementation shows AGC matching accuracy better than 0.1 %. The outputs from the AGC are transferred to a 10b A/D converter integrated on the same chip. The proposed AGC is implemented as a sub-block of a CCD camera interface system using a 0.5 um n-well CMOS process. The prototype shows the 32-dB AGC dynamic range in 1/8-dB steps with 173 mW at 3 V and 25 MHz.

  • Malignant rhabdoid tumor is a highly aggressive tumor of children, that often arises in the kidney. Some rhabdoid tumors have been reported in various extra-renal location including the central nervous system, liver, skin, and soft tissues. In case of arising in soft tissues, it may be misdiagnosed as rhabdomyosarcoma. It is important to distinguish malignant rabdoid tumor from rhadomyosarcoma, because malignant rhabdoid tumor has more aggressive behavior and poorer survival rate. And this differential diagnosis can be performed by several immunohistochemistry. Here we report a case of malignant rhabdoid tumor that arose in lower abdominal wall with related articles.

Comparison of Presentation and Clinical Outcome between Children and Young Adults with Differentiated Thyroid Cancer

  • Background: The aim of the present study was to evaluate the presentation, clinical course and outcome between children and young adults with differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC) treated in our hospital. Materials and Methods: The medical records of 145 patients with DTC who underwent surgery followed by radioiodine and thyroid hormone (TSH) suppression were retrospectively reviewed. The follow up was between January 2006 and June 2012. These patients consisted of 38 children (age${\leq}18y$) and 107 young adult patients (age${\leq}30y$). The clinical characteristics and outcome were analyzed and compared, and the progression-free survival (PFS) was evaluated using the Kaplan-Meier method. Results: At initial diagnosis, a greater degree of extra thyroidal extension was found in children than adults patients (p<0.001). However, there was no significant difference between the two groups with regard to the tumor size and the presence of lymph node or distant metastasis (p=0.172, p=0.050 and p=0.068, respectively). The extent of surgery and the cumulative or mean dose of radioiodine were similar in both groups. During the follow up, the overall survival rate was 100% for both groups, and the PFS rate was similar in children and in young adults group (log rank test, ${\chi}^2$=0.126, p=0.723). Conclusions: In comparison to the young adult patients, DTC in children presents with more aggressive behavior, but outcomes are similar between the two groups after the intensive management of surgery followed by radioiodine and TSH suppression therapy.

Instructional Motivation and Response According to Cognitive Style after Application of Computer Assisted Instruction(CAI) for College Student Nurses (일부 간호대학생의 인지 양식에 따른 CAI 학습후 학습동기와 학습평가 비교)

  • Purpose: This study was done to identity the degree of instructional motivation and response after application of CAI in the student nurses' fundamental nursing course. Method: The subjects of this study were 77 student nurses and the data was collected from October, 7th to 17th in 1997. The examination sheet for cognitive style and a questionnaire to evaluate the degree of instructional motivation were used to collect data. Result : 1) It was found that the degree of instructional motivation of the learner was higher in the CAI class. (134.23/170) 2) After CAI, the learners expressed relatively higher satisfaction in understanding, interest, degree of difficulty, number of problems, icons, and extra information. 3) It was found that 53 learners(68.8%) were field independent-cognitive learners and 24 learners(31.2%) were field dependent-cognitive learners. 4) Among the instructional responses according to the cognitive behavior of the learner after CAI, there were significant differences in reasons for understanding the computer program, interest in the computer program class, and the number of students assigned to each computer. 5) There were no significant difference between cognitive style and instructional motivation. Conclusion: The CAI effect for nursing students fundamental nursing course have been positive evaluated. CAI in nursing education is becoming very available and needs to develop effective CAI and use not only fundamental nursing course but also another nursing education programs.

  • The LCM (Linear Cutting Machine) test is one of the most powerful and reliable methods for designing the disc cutter and for predicting the TBM (Tunnel Boring Machine) performance. It has an advantage to predict the actual load on disc cutter from the laboratory test on the real-size large rock samples, however, it also has a disadvantage to transport and/or prepare the large rock samples and to need an extra cost for experiment. In order to overcome this problem, lots of numerical studies have been performed. In this study, the PFC3D (Particle Flow Code in 3 Dimension) has been adopted for numerical analysis on optimum cutter spacing and failure aspects of Busan Tuff. The optimum cutting condition with s/p ratio of 16 and minimum specific energy of $14MJ/m^3$ was derived from numerical analyses. The cutter spacing for Busan Tuff had the good agreements with those of LCM test and numerical analysis by finite element method.

Experimental investigation on No-Vent Fill (NVF) process using liquid Nitrogen

  • For a long-term space mission, filling process of cryogenic liquid propellant is operated on a space vehicle in space. A vent process during transfer and filling of cryogenic propellant is needed to maintain the fuel tank pressure at a safe level due to its volatile characteristic. It is possible that both liquid and vapor phases of the cryogenic propellant are released simultaneously to outer space when the vent process occurs under low gravity environment. As a result, the existing filling process with venting not only accompanies wasting liquid propellant, but also consumes extra fuel to compensate for the unexpected momentum originated from the vent process. No-Vent Fill (NVF) method, a filling procedure without a venting process of cryogenic liquid propellant, is an attractive technology to perform a long-term space mission. In this paper, the preliminary experimental results of the NVF process are described. The experimental set-up consists of a 9-liter cryogenic liquid receiver tank and a supply tank. Liquid nitrogen ($LN_2$) is used to simulate the behavior of cryogenic propellant. The whole situation in the receiver tank during NVF is monitored. The major experimental parameter in the experiment is the mass flow rate of the liquid nitrogen. The experimental results demonstrate that as the mass flow rate is increased, NVF process is conducted successfully. The quality and the inlet temperature of the injected $LN_2$ are affected by the mass flow rate. These parameters determine success of NVF.

  • Membrane separation is a technology of low energy consumption. Membranes made of zeolites are of great interest because their fixed and open pores in the size of small molecules inside crystalline structures allow separation processes under harsh conditions. While zeolite NaA (LTA-type) is industrially used for dewatering of organic solvents, its pore size and thermal and hydrothermal stability can be tuned by exchange of framework and extra-framework elements. SOD with pores of only 0.28 nm is of great interest for $H_2$- und $H_2O$-separation and also can be tuned by ion exchange. Zeolites open the opportunity to create membranes of adapted separation behavior for small molecules in conditions of surrounding technical processes.

Economic Analysis of Box Mechanical Behavior Materials Using LCC Analysis (LCC를 고려한 BOX구조물 뒷채움 재료의 경제성 분석)

  • The lightweight bubble mixture soil is used for soft ground rear-filling material by applying reduced weight on structure. However, comparing with the general soil, it is not applied in domestic because of initial phase cost of construction. General soil, which has lower initial phase cost is usually used for rear-filling, but the use of overlay method of general soil is reduced as the number of layers increases. Especially box structure placed in soft ground or the overlay method when gap near pier rear-filling can be replaced with temporary alternative method, however, it can't be a solution to gap by generation of extra weight of thickness of overlaying. Therefore, execute LCC analysis of two alternative-the general and the lightweight bubble mixture soils, which are rear-filling material of box structure- and present economical analysis in order to make resonable decision from the economics. As a result, although the lightweight bubble mixture soil takes higher initial phase cost than the general soil, it has been analyzed to procure economical efficiency by having less cost of maintenance.

Finite Element Analysis on the Pitch Design of Ring Knot Type Membrane Unit (링 마디식 멤브레인 유니트의 피치설계에 관한 유한요소해석)

  • This paper has been analyzed for the stress behavior problems of the ring knot membrane unit using the finite element method about the pitch design of the membrane unit, which is one of the most important parameters in manufacturing of the membrane type LNG storage tanks. The FEM results have been compared those of the existing pitch design length. The safety problem of the ring knot membrane model, which is considered in this study, does not come out any more no matter what the pitch length is used in the extra large LNG storage tanks. But in the case of the membrane for LNG tankers, it is advantageous to design the pitch short because of fatigue strength caused by repeated loadings. Looking at the deformation behaviors of the membrane corrugation, the deformation of the hight in the y direction occurs $15{\~}50\%$ more than that of the width in the z direction. It shows also that the deformation of the membrane with $-162^{\circ}C$ cryogenic temperature is not so great compared with the deformation by hydrostatic pressure.
