재료상수가 상이한 요소로 이루어진 적층평판형구조물의 Brazier효과에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Brazier Effect of Laminated Plate Structures Having Different Material Constants for Each Element)

  • 원통관에 휨모멘트가 작용하면 변형후 단면은 타원형상을 갖게된다. 단면의 타원화에 의해 단면이 감소하게 되면 휨강성이 감소하게 되며, 따라서, 휨모멘트-곡률관계가 하중점감형으로 된다. 이 휨강성의 감소현상을 Brazier이론 또는 Brazier현상이라고 한다. 적층평판에 있어서도 각층의 재료상수가 뚜렷하게 다른 경우 원통관에서의 Brazier현상과 유사한 현상이 발생한다. 본 논문에서는 평판에서의 Brazier현상을 규명하기 위하여 3층 적층모델을 만들어 각층의 재료정수가 현저히 다른 경우 어떠한 현상이 일어나는 가를 실험적으로 규명하였고, 이론해석을 위하여 스프링모델을 사용하였다. 본 논문의 모델에서 알 수 있듯이 중간층의 재료상수가 상하층 요소의 재료상수 보다 뚜렷하게 작은 경우 중간층의 거동이 현저히 크게됨을 알 수 있었다. 즉, 본 논문에서 채택한 모델의 경우에 있어서도 원통관에서 일어나는 Brazier형상이 일어나고 있음이 실험적 그리고 해석적으로 규명되었다 .

손상원통부재(損傷圓筒部材)의 최종강도(最終强度) 해석(解析)에 관한 연구(硏究) (A Study on the Ultimate Strength Analysis of Damaged Tubular Members)

  • 본 연구에서는 축력과 굽힘모멘트의 조합하중(組合荷重)을 받는 손상원통부재의 최종강도(最終强度)를 해석하기위하여 간이유한요소해석이론을 정식화한다. 여기서, 굽힘 및 국부손상이 존재하는 원통부재(圓筒部材)를 보요소로 모델링하며, 각요소의 접선탄성강성행렬(接線彈性剛性行列)은 기하학적 비선형 효과를 고려하여 updated Lagrangian 기법에 의하여 도출한다. 이때, 국부손상부위의 강성이 외력에 대한 저항에 기여하는 정도는 비교적 작다고 생각되므로 요소의 강성평가시에 국부손상부위의 강성은 무시한다. 요소의 소성화는 국부손상부위의 영향을 고려한 전단면(全斷面) 소성강도(塑性强度) 상관관계식을 적용하여 요소의 각절점에서 판정하며, 접선(接線) 탄소성(彈塑性) 강성행렬(剛性行列)은 소성절점법(塑性節點法)에 의하여 계산한다. 마지막으로 본 연구에서 정식화한 해석법을 바탕으로 컴퓨터프로그램을 작성하고 실험 등에 의하여 얻어진 기존의 결과에 대해 재해석하여 본해석법의 정도와 유용성을 확인한다.

하이브리드 MOM/UTD 방법을 이용한 주름진 표면파 안테나의 해석 (Analysis of Corugated Surface Wave Antenna Using Hybrid MOM/UTD Method)

  • 평행평판 도파관으로부터 급전되어지는 주름진 도체판을 가지는 표면파 안테나의 해석이 고려되어진다. 해석의 단순함을 위해 원래의 문제를 3개의 영역, 즉 단락된 평행평판 도파관 내부 구조(내부 영역 1)와 주름진 격자 내부의 구조(내부 영역 2)와 도체 쇄기의 구조(외부 영역)로 나누기 위해 등가원리가 도입된다. End-fire 복사를 하는 주름진 표면과 안테나를 해석하기 위하여 하이브리드 MOM/UTD 방법이 적용되어진다. 수치해석 결과들은 이전의 실험결과들과 매우 잘 일치하며, 이전의 단순 등가전류 접근의 결과들과 비교할 때 더 나은 결과들이 얻어진다. 또한 효과적인 end-fire 주름진 표면파 안테나 설계를 위한 인자들을 얻을 수 있다.

COMPARATIVE STUDY ON THE FRACTURE STRENGTH OF METAL-CERAMIC VERSUS COMPOSITE RESIN-VENEERED METAL CROWNS IN CEMENT-RETAINED IMPLANT-SUPPORTED CROWNS UNDER VERTICAL COMPRESSIVE LOAD

  • Statement of problem. Fracture of the tooth-colored superstructure material is one of the main prosthetic complications in implant-supported prostheses. Purpose. The purpose of this in vitro study was to compare the fracture strength between the cement-retained implant-supported metal-ceramic crowns and the indirect composite resinveneered metal crowns under the vertical compressive load. Material and methods. Standard implants of external type (AVANA IFR 415 Pre-mount; Osstem Co., Busan, Korea) were embedded in stainless steel blocks perpendicular to their long axis. Customized abutments were fabricated using plastic UCLA abutments (Esthetic plastic cylinder; Osstem Co., Busan, Korea). Thirty standardized copings were cast with non-precious metal (Rexillium III, Pentron, Walling ford, Conn., USA). Copings were divided into two groups of 15 specimens each (n = 15). For Group I specimens, metal-ceramic crowns were fabricated. For Group II specimens, composite resin-veneered (Sinfony, 3M-ESPE, St. Paul, MN, USA) metal crowns (Sinfony-veneered crowns) were fabricated according to manufacturer's instructions. All crowns were temporary cemented and vertically loaded with an Instron universal testing machine (Instron 3366, Instron Corp., Norwood, MA, USA). The maximum load value (N) at the moment of complete failure was recorded and all data were statistically analyzed by independent sample t-test at the significance level of 0.05. The modes of failure were also investigated with visual analysis. Results. The fracture strength of Sinfony-veneered crowns ($2292.7{\pm}576.0N$) was significantly greater than that of metal-ceramic crowns ($1150.6{\pm}268.2N$) (P < 0.05). With regard to the failure mode, Sinfony-veneered crowns exhibited adhesive failure, while metal-ceramic crowns tended to fracture in a manner that resulted in combined failure. Conclusion. Sinfony-veneered crowns demonstrated a significantly higher fracture strength than that of metal-ceramic crowns in cement-retained implant-supported prostheses.

14 Planck Galactic Cold Clumps in the λ Orionis Complex: No dense cores detected with SCUBA-2

  • We present preliminary results of the submillimeter continuum observations of 14 Planck Galactic Cold Clumps (PGCCs), located in the ${\lambda}$ Orionis Complex. This region is the nearest large HII region, which is an ideal site for a study of the stellar feedback to its surroundings. We observed 14 PGCCs with JCMT/SCUBA-2 and used J=1-0 transitions of CO isotopologues from the PMO mapping observation. Several sub-clumps toward three PGCCs were detected at $850{\mu}m$. In order to examine whether these clumps can be candidates for pre-stellar cores, we compared each clump mass calculated from the $850{\mu}m$ continuum map to its Virial mass and Jeans mass calculated from the $^{12}CO$ and $C^{18}O$ (1-0) spectra, respectively. All clumps have masses smaller than their Virial and Jeans masses, indicating that none of them are gravitational bound and thus in the pre-stellar core stage. Also, the CO depletion factor, which has been derived from the dust continuum and the $C^{18}O$(1-0) line and can be an indicator of core evolution, toward the clumps is in the range of 1 to 5, suggesting that they are not very evolved dense pre-stellar cores. In addition, within individual PGCCs, we found clear gradients of velocity (${\sim}1km\;s^{-1}\;pc^{-1}$) and temperature (${\sim}10K\;pc^{-1}$) in the $^{13}CO$ (1-0) first moment map and the $^{12}CO$(1-0) excitation temperature map, respectively. This can be attributed to the compression and external heating by the HII region, which may prevent clumps from forming gravitationally bound structures and eventually disperse clumps. These results could be a hint about the negative effect of stellar feedback on core formation.

  • 친환경기술과 신재생 에너지 자원에 대한 세계적인 관심이 증가하면서, 플라이휠 에너지 저장 장치는 화학전지나 연료전지와 같은 기존의 에너지 저장 시스템의 대안 중 하나로 부상하고 있다. 플라이휠 에너지 저장장치의 에너지 저장 용량은 극질량 관성모멘트와 회전속도의 제곱에 비례하기 때문에, 가능한 높은 회전속도와 높은 극질량 관성모멘트를 갖도록 설계하는 것이 중요하다. 하지만, 시스템의 운전안정성 확보가 최적설계의 구속조건으로 작용할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 에너지 저장 용량을 최대화하고 운전안정성 및 외란에 대한 강인성을 확보하는 플라이휠 시스템의 최적설계를 제안한다. 그리고, 기존의 PD 제어에 비교하여 교차궤환제어법이 자이로스코프효과를 줄이고, 에너지 저장밀도를 높이는데 필수적임을 확인하였다.

  • Since 1998, government-led Korean venture business boom now proceeds into the stage of market-oriented venture business growth. At such a moment, this research is to clarify the relations between the success factors of Korean venture businesses, based on domestic and foreign documentary surveys and inquiry surveys over domestic venture businesses. This research starts from the necessity to overcome the limits of the existing researches by uni-dimensional probing research into success factors of Korean venture businesses and to manifest the multi-dimensional relations between the success factors from the various viewpoints. And this research adopts System-Dynamics methodology to manifest and utilize relations among those factors, avoiding the existing metrical approaches. This research can be called a new approach to the current ecosystems of Korean venture in which whether venture businesses success in Korea is considered to depend on the list on the stock market. For this, this research implemented verification analysis through the simulations of each factor at various levels to build causality map which clarifies the causality of success factors of venture businesses through the System-Dynamics methodology and to utilize it as a way of supporting tool for decision-making of venture businesses. This research will be able to suggest the reactions depending on various internal and external situations. This research tried to manifest the causality map of each factor on the basis of inquiry surveys and documentary surveys to verify feedback among each factor by the SD methodology. This research will be a basis bolster up the still fragile substructure of venture businesses through an efficient analysis framework using the verification of SD methodology and resulting outcomes from this research.

  • 지진하중으로 인한 배관계통의 파괴모드는 라체트를 동반하는 저주기 피로파괴이며 비선형 거동이 집중되고 파손이 발생하는 요소는 엘보인 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구에서는 저주기 피로에 의한 SCH 40 3인치 탄소강관엘보의 파괴기준을 정량적으로 표현하기 위하여 한계상태를 누수로 정의하고 면내반복가력실험을 수행하였다. 배관계통에서 지진하중에 취약한 요소인 탄소강관엘보에 대하여 모멘트-변형각의 관계를 이용한 손상지수를 나타내었으며 힘-변위의 관계를 이용하여 산정된 손상지수와 비교-분석하였다. 탄소강관엘보에 대하여 반복되는 외력에 의한 소산에너지에 기반을 둔 손상지수로서 누수가 발생한 한계상태를 정량적으로 표현하였다.

Experimental study on the influence of Reynolds number and roll angle on train aerodynamics

  • When the rolling stocks run on the curve, the external rail has to be lifted to a certain level to balance the centrifugal force acting on the train body. Under such a situation, passengers may feel uncomfortable, and the slanted vehicle has the potential overturning risks at high speed. This paper conducted a wind tunnel test in an annular wind tunnel with φ=3.2 m based on a 1/20th scaled high-speed train (HST) model. The sensitivity of Reynolds effects ranging from Re = 0.37×106 to Re = 1.45×106 was tested based on the incoming wind from U=30 m/s to U=113 m/s. The wind speed covers the range from incompressible to compressible. The impact of roll angle ranging from γ=0° to γ=4° on train aerodynamics was tested. In addition, the boundary layer development was also analyzed under different wind speeds. The results indicate that drag and lift aerodynamic coefficients gradually stabilized and converged over U=70 m/s, which could be regeared as the self-similarity region. Similarly, the thickness of the boundary layer on the floor gradually decreased with the wind speed increase, and little changed over U=80 m/s. The rolling moment of the head and tail cars increased with the roll angle from γ=0° to γ=4°. However, the potential overturning risks of the head car are higher than the tail car with the increase of the roll angle. This study is significant in providing a reference for the overturning assessment of HST.

Analytical and experimental investigations on the performance of tuned liquid column ball damper considering a hollow ball

  • Passive vibration control devices like tuned liquid column dampers (TLCD) not only significantly reduce buildings' vibrations but also can serve as a water storage facility. The recently introduced modified form of TLCD known as tuned liquid column ball damper (TLCBD) suppressed external vibration efficiently compared to traditional TLCD. For excellent performance, the mass ratio of TLCBD should be in the range of 5% to 7%, which does not include the mass of the ball. This additional mass of the ball increases the overall structure mass. Therefore, in this paper, an effort is made to reduce the mass of TLCBD. For this purpose, a new modified version of TLCBD known as tuned liquid column hollow ball damper (TLCHBD) is proposed. The existing mathematical modeling of TLCBD is used for this new damper by updating the numerical values of the mass and mass moment of the ball. Analytically the optimal design parameters are obtained. Numerically the TLCHBD is investigated with a single degree of freedom structure under harmonic and seismic loadings. It is found that TLCHBD performance is similar to TLCBD in both loadings' cases. To validate the numerical results, an experimental study is conducted. The mass of the ball of TLCHBD is reduced by 50% compared to the ball of TLCBD. Both the arrangements are studied with a multi-degree of freedom structure under harmonic and seismic loadings using a shake table. The results of the experimental study confirm the numerical findings. It is found that the performance behavior of both the dampers is almost similar under harmonic and seismic loadings. In short, the TLCHBD is lighter in weight than TLCBD but has a similar vibration suppression ability.
