CFC 대체냉매를 사용한 핀-관 열교환기의 성능해석 (The Performance Analysis of the Fin-Tube Heat Exchanger Using CFC Alternative Refrigerant)

  • In this study, the computer modeling for prediction of the performance of fin-tube heat exchanger using alternative refrigerant, HFC-134a was developed and the computer program for calculating the various properties of HFC-134a and the existing refrigerant CFC-12 and HCFC-22 was made. The heat exchanger modeling is based on a tube-by-tube approach, which is capable of analysis for the complex coil array. Performance of each tube is analyzed separately by considering the cross-flow heat transfer with external airstream and the appropriate heat and mass transfer relationships. A performance comparison according to the different refrigerants is provided using this developed model. As the result of this study, total heat transfer rate of evaporator and condenser using HFC-134a were found higher than that of using CFC-12 for the same operating conditions. When the mass flow rate of HFC-134a was less than CFC-12 about 18. 16%, the cooling capacities of evaporator were found to be the same.

판형쉘열교환기 기본설계를 위한 경향성 분석 (Trend Analysis for Basic Design of a Plate and Shell Heat Exchanger)

  • In order to prepare for a future nuclear market, research for developing floating small modular reactor has been initiated with the aim of differentiating it from large nuclear power plants such as distributed power, heat supply to remote communities and sea water desalination. Depending on the characteristics of the small modular reactor, it is necessary to design a plate and shell heat exchanger that can be manufactured smaller than the U-tube recirculation method. In this study, 12 cases are selected by changing the diameter of the heat plate, the thickness of the device body and the size of the stiffener. Finite element analysis is performed by setting the stress classification lines for the point at which deformation is expected under external pressure conditions for these analysis cases. For the basic design of the plate and shell heat exchanger, the optimal conditions are derived by analyzing the tendency of stress change in the device body and stiffener.

공기사이클 냉동시스템의 성능해석 (Performance Analysis of an Air-Cycle Refrigeration System)

  • The objective of this study is to analyze theoretically the performance of an open air-cycle refrigeration system in which environmental concerns increase. The pressure ratio of the external compressor and efficiencies of the components that compose of the system are selected as important parameters. As the pressure ratio of the external compressor increases, the pressure ratio of the ACM compressor is determined high, the refrigerating temperature and capacity increase, the COP decreases, and the total entropy production rate increases. The effect of heat exchanger effectiveness and turbine efficiency on the performance are greater than that of the ACM compressor efficiency. Also the performance of the air-cycle refrigeration system with two heat exchangers has been enhanced like high COP and low total entropy production rate, compared to the system with one heat exchanger.

  • 전투기에 장착되는 정보수집용 포드의 냉각 장치인 ACM에 대한 성능 시험평가를 수행하였다. 시험평가 대상인 ACM은 역 브레이튼 공기 사이클로 작동되는 터보기기로서, 항공기의 비행속도에 의한 램 공기를 에너지원으로 사용하여 추가적인 에너지의 공급 없이 냉각 기체를 발생시킨다. 또한 습기에 민감한 전자장비의 냉각에 이용하기 위하여 열교환기를 함께 구성하였다. 성능시험을 통하여 개발 대상 ACM 및 열교환기는 요구 성능을 만족함을 확인하였다.

Galvanic Corrosion Between Component Parts of Aluminum Alloys for Heat Exchanger of Automobile

  • There are a variety of heat exchangers used in automobiles, such as shell and tube heat exchangers, double tube heat exchangers, and plate heat exchangers. Most of them are water-cooled to prevent engine overheating. There have been reports of corrosion damage to these heat exchangers due to continuous wetting caused by external temperature differences, road pollutants, and snow removal. In addition, galvanic corrosion, which occurs when two dissimilar materials come into contact, has been identified as a major cause. In this study, corrosion characteristics and galvanic corrosion behavior of Al alloy (AA3003, AA4045 and AA7072) used in automobile heat exchangers were analyzed. Effective clad materials for heat exchanger tubes and fins were also evaluated. It was found that AA7072 should be applied as the cladding material for fin AA3003 and that AA4045 was suitable as a cladding material for tube AA3003 because this clad materials application was the most effective clad design to delay the occurrence of pinhole in the tube. Main factors influencing galvanic corrosion dissolution were found to be galvanic corrosion potential difference and galvanic corrosion current density.

레이저 3D 프린팅 기법으로 제작한 열교환기 성능시험 분석 연구 (Experimental analysis of heat exchanger performance produced by laser 3D printing technique)

  • 3D 프린팅은 고분자, 세라믹, 금속 등 다양한 소재를 대상으로 복합적인 형상을 한 번의 공정으로 제작할 수 있는 적층 기반 제작 기술이다. 최근의 3D 프린팅 기술은 프린팅 속도의 향상과 적용 가능 소재의 지속적인 개발에 의해 양산형 제품 생산이 가능한 수준으로 발전하였다. 본 연구에서는 레이저를 활용한 3D 프린팅 기술을 적용하여 철도 차량용 공기 압축기에 쓰이는 열교환기 제작을 진행하였다. 먼저 3D 프린팅에 적합한 형상으로 경량화 및 컴팩트화를 주안점으로 열교환기의 최적 설계를 진행하였다. 그로부터 도출된 설계안을 기반으로 SLM 기법을 적용하여 AlSi10Mg 합금 소재로 열교환기 시작품을 제작하였다. 다음으로, 제작된 시작품을 기존 공기 압축기에 부착하여, 압축공기의 열교환 성능을 시험하였다. 3D 프린팅 시작품의 시험 결과는 기존 열교환기 대비하여 저압부와 고압부에서 열교환 성능은 각각 약 80% 및 85% 수준을 보였다, 하지만 외부 냉각공기 조건을 기존 열교환기와 유사한 조건으로 가정하였을 때 𝓔-NTU 법을 활용하여 계산한 열전달량은 기존 열교환기 대비하여 유사한 성능을 보여 주었다. 결과적으로, 3D 프린팅 제작 열교환기의 성능 효과 및 경량화 등의 장점을 확인할 수 있었다.

A collapse Stress Analysis of a Heat Exchanger Subjected to External Pressure in a Nuclear Power Plant

  • The collapse pressure of tubes is determined experimentally by Tschoepe and Maison for various materials with different geometries. The results are compared with those obtained by ASME Codes UG-31 and UG-28. A collage pressure is the pressure required for the incipient yielding stress of the tubes with and without ovality. This collapse pressure is compared with the experimental results by Tschoepe and Maison. The present investigation is towards finding the collapse pressure required to bring the entire wall of tubes into a state of plastic flow for the pipes, with ovality and without ovality. This collapse pressure is compared with the collapse pressure obtained through experiments in the present investigation. The experimental results are compared with the pressure obtained by FEM(finite element methods). The FEM results are then compared with results obtained through an approximate plastic analysis of the strain hardening material, SA312-TP304 stainless steel. The structural integrity evaluation is performed for the heat exchanger used in an actual nuclear power plant by using various methods described in this paper. The results obtained by the various analyses and the FEM are discussed. consequently, the paper is oriented towards an actual design purpose of d heat exchanger in an industrial environment, rather than for the purpose of an academic research project investigation.

용접식 판형열교환기 헤더형상에 따른 채널 위치별 유량 분배 특성 고찰 (Investigation of Flow Distribution Characteristics at the Channel Location according to the Header Shape of Welded Plate Heat Exchanger)

  • To improve the flow distribution at channel locations in the welded plate heat exchanger with "L"-type inflow, the flow visualization of Model 1 was carried out. Besides, the characteristics of flow distribution was investigated experimentally according to the header shape. The inlet flow rate for each channel location was increased at the side channels but decreased at the central channels. In the case of Model 2, which has a slant structure added to the basic header of Model 1, the unevenness of inlet flow increased by 23% from 0.019 to 0.023 as compared to Model 1. On the other hand, Model 3, which has a baffle structure added to Model 2, showed 0.064 unevenness in inlet flow, which was a 36% reduction one compared to Model 1. To improve the distribution at each channel in the welded plate heat exchanger with "L"-type flow, it is necessary to improve the header external shape for the guide of flow as well as the baffle structure for reduction of vortex flow.

휜 타입 내부열교환기 적용에 따른 차량용 냉방시스템 성능 특성 (Performance Characteristics of Vehicle Air Conditioning System Using Internal Heat Exchanger with Inner Fin)

  • 내부열교환기를 이용한 에어컨 시스템은 작동유체인 R134a의 고압측 액상냉매와 저압측 기상냉매의 상호 열교환을 통해 시스템의 응축 효율을 증가시켜 에너지 효율을 개선시킨다. 이는 에어컨 시스템의 성능 향상 및 경량화를 가능하게 하여 차량 연비 향상과 냉매 누출을 최소화할 수 있으며, 또한 현 R134a 대비 대체냉매 (R1234yf 등)의 동등 냉방성능 확보를 가능하게 하는 기술이다. 본 연구에서는 내측 압출 파이프 및 외측 사이 고효율 냉각 휜 (fin)이 삽입된 이중관 형태의 내부열교환기 상세 설계를 위해, 냉각 휜의 높이 및 내측 압출 파이프 내부형상 등의 다양한 형상 설계인자 변경에 따른 열전달 성능 및 압력강하 특성을 살펴보았다. 가장 우수한 내부열교환기 성능은 난류형성을 위한 내측관 형상이 라이너 및 세레이션 겸용 타입이었으며, 이는 내부열교환기가 장착되지 않은 경우보다 냉방시스템 성능이 약 6.4%, 시스템 COP는 약 9.2% 향상된 결과를 나타내었다.
