1) Objective External treatments have various curative effects. So it had been used to cure various patients. But, it has a limited sphere of application in the present South Korea. Therefore we would like to bring out its sphere of application and detailed method in the oriental medicine classics. 2) Conclusions From long time ago people have used external treatment to cure various disease. According to the ${\lceil}Nei-Jing{\rfloor}$, hot compress therapy, fumigation therapy and bathing therapy had been used to cure blockage syndrome, muscle disease, carbuncle and cellulitis. Thereafter, a sphere of external treatment had gradually enlarged. (1) After all its sphere had included dermatologic, psychologic, internal, ophthalmic, otolaryngologic, obstetrics, gynecologic, pediatric and surgical diseases. (2) External treatment methods have contained hot compress therapy, fumigation therapy, bathing therapy, application therapy, medication bag therapy, medication plug therapy, medication massotherapy, aroma therapy and so on. (3) Medication types of external treatment have contained ointment, juice, infusion, powder, suppository and so on.

External treatments have various curative effects. So it had been used to cure various patients. Especially, Zhao-Xue-Min(趙學敏) had thought that there are useful treatments of wander doctors. So, the "Chuan-Ya(串雅)" had been written by Zhao-Xue-min in 1759. The book had included treatments of wander doctors. it had included various external treatments. Therefore we would like to bring out it's external treatments in the part of ophthalmic, otolaryngologic and surgical diseases. We have researched external treatments of "Chuan-Ya", and then we have arrived at following conclusions. "Chuan-Ya" has 56 sentences that have related to external treatments in the part of ophthalmic, otolaryngologic and surgical diseases. And then, the treatments were, for the most of the part, bathing therapy, application therapy.

Applying an external electric field across air filter media is one of methods to improve the filtration performance. Metal wire meshes have been commonly used as electrodes situated on both sides of a thick filter pad. For a thin filter medium a short circuit, known as the biggest drawback for applying an external electric field to air filter, can occur at the closest point between electrodes. In this study several types of insulated meshes were prepared by coating #50 meshes with a dielectric material, Nylon 66, and the filtration property of air filter was evaluated at the presence of external electric field using those insulated meshes as electrodes and compared with that of filters using bared meshes. The collection efficiency of tested filter was increased from 78% to 95% for singly charged 100 nm particles by application of external electric field. As a result, there was no significant difference in collection efficiency between filters with insulated and bared electrodes. Similar results could be also seen from the tests using polydisperse particles. Finally, through this study, we found that the insulation of mesh electrodes doesn't affect the filtration performance of fibrous air filter under external electric field.

External knowledge search is critical to expand the firm's knowledge base, increasing the innovation performance. However, prior literature has paid less scholarly attention on the boundary condition of the search activity. In particular, the few literatures on the contingency factors are either conceptual or focus on the firm characteristics such as resources and capability. In this regard, this study argues the negative moderating effect of knowledge protection and environmental uncertainty of a firm on the positive relationship between external knowledge search and innovation performance, because these contingency factors hamper the reciprocity and the mutual trust between the firm and its external partner that provides knowledge needed in the innovation process. The empirical analysis is based on the sample drawn from Korean Innovation Survey, provided by STEPI in Korea. The sample consists of 1,637 respondent firms that experienced product innovation during the survey period. We could find statistically supporting results for the negative moderating effect on the positive relationship between external knowledge search and innovation performance. This study extends the academic debate on the boundary conditions of external knowledge search and provides managerial implications for successful product innovation.

This paper presents the details of finite element (FE) modeling and analysis of an external prestressing technique to strengthen a prestressed concrete (PSC) end block. Various methods of external prestressing techniques have been discussed. In the proposed technique, transfer of external force is in shear mode on the end block creating a complex stress distribution. The proposed technique is useful when the ends of the PSC girders are not accessible. Finite element modeling issues have been outlined. Brief description about material nonlinearity including key aspects in modeling inelastic behaviour has been provided. Finite element (FE) modeling including material, loading has been explained in depth. FE analysis for linear and nonlinear static analysis has been conducted for varying external loadings. Various responses such as out-of-plane deformation and slip have been computed and compared with the corresponding experimental observations. From the study, it has been observed that the computed slope and slip of the steel bracket under external loading is in good agreement with the corresponding experimental observations.

Objective : The object of this literatual study is to investigate the external therapy and irrigation-therapy(洗痔法) of hemorrhoids Methods : We have selected data related to the external therapy and irrigation-therapy(洗痔法) of hemorrhoids on the literature of Oriental medicine. And we analyzed the study. Results : 1. The external therapy of hemorrhoids is fundamental therapy. There are several external therapy, these are irrigation-therapy(洗痔法), fumigation-therapy(薰痔法), paint-therapt(塗痔法), and withering-therapy(枯痔法). 2. The effects of herbs used in this irrigation-therapy(洗痔法) are almost the same as ground rules of hemorrhoids therapy such as, remove heat to stop bleeding(淸熱止血), resolve damp-heat(淸化濕熱), tonify the blood and arrest bleeding(補血止血), clear away heat and loosen the bowels(淸熱通便), nourish blood to relieve dryness(養血潤燥), tonify thr spleen and replenish Ki(補中益氣) Conclusions : Through literatual Study, we basically understood the external therapy and irrigation-therapy(洗痔法) of hemorrhoids. In the study of irrigation-therapy(洗痔法), it seems that further clinical studies on hemorrhoids therapy.

As social interest in acne treatment has grown, various external preparations have been developed and studied. So, we investigated the external prescription which can treat acne in medical classics, then reviewed and divided it by dynasty. The data for analysis of Herbal formula was taken from 'medicine Dictionary of traditional Chinese medicine prescriptions(中醫方劑大辭典)'. 31 external medicines were searched, 3 were before song(宋) dynasty, 11 were Song(宋) dynasty, 11 were Yuan(元) dynasty, 7 were Ming(明) dynasty and 7 were Qing(淸) dynasty. The recipe and usage were only making them pill(丸) and paste(膏) using grinded medicinal herbs, then rubbing to face. As the age developed, unique manufacturing process(i.e fermentation method), and usage(i.e time-based usage, herbal medicine extracts for wash) were proposed. The external application with oriental medicine for acne used with Angelicae Gahuricae Radix(n=12), Bletillae Rhizoma(n=8), Syzygii Flos, Saposhnikoviae Radix(n=7) and so on. In particular, Bletillae Rhizoma was searched with high frequency in this study, but it was not included or studied in patent composition. The results of this study will provide basic data for future experiments and clinical studies.

Objectives The purpose of this study is to investigate recent clinical studies on the effect of external therapy for infantile anorexia. Methods We searched for the study at CNKI by a keyword 'xiaoaryanshizheng' after 2010. 40 clinical studies which were using one external therapy method were selected. Result Selected 40 clinical studies were divided into six types of external therapy. The subjects for these clinical studies were between three months and 14 years old children. The number of the subjects was between 20 and 260. The period of treatment was between three days and three months. Only using one external therapy for infantile anorexia had 84.62%-100% cure rate. Conclusions Based on these clinical studies, external therapy has been shown as an effective treatment on infantile anorexia.

Pilot-scale PSSBR(Phase Separated Sequencing Batch Reactor) was operated to evaluate requirement of external carbon sources(${\Delta}gCOD/{\Delta}gNO_3^{-}-N$) in denitrification. Methanol and fermented food waste were used as external carbon sources. Methanol and fermented food waste were fed to the anoxic state of first reactor and concentration were 50 and 40 mgCOD/L on the basis of concentration in reactor, respectively. In case that external carbon source was not used, average $NO_3^{-}-N$ concentration in effluent was 22.49 mg/L. When methanol and fermented food waste were fed, average $NO_3^{-}-N$ concentration in effluent were 10.13 mg/L and 6.3 mg/L, respectively and requirement of external carbon sources were 4.04 and 2.5 ${\Delta}gCOD/{\Delta}gNO_3^{-}-N$, respectively. Fermented food waste was better than methanol in denitrification efficiency. Therefore fermented food waste could be one of the excellent external carbon sources for nitrogen removal in biological nutrient removal process.

"Chuan-Ya" has 48 sentences that have related to external treatments in internal medicine. And it had recorded fire conducting method(引火法) to explain process of external teratment principle.
