  • Guarini's architectural contribution has simply focused on the dome structure that has been known to us; however, his geometric and spatial construction has been overlooked so far Through this study, it has been demonstrated that the dome structure was simply part of geometrical forms that Guarini wanted to express ultimately and it functioned as a geometrical element such as the network combined with the entire spatial structure. The purpose of this study is to reevaluate Guarini's architectural thought by means of investigating the ultimate principles of spatial composition appeared in the late Baroque architecture through the analysis of the principles of spatial composition and organized formal Idioms by Guarini's geometrical concepts. Besides, it has been assumed that such geometrical concepts by Guarini's mathematical proportion and his reiteration and change of diagrams could be clearly distinguished from the Classical geometry in the Renaissance and Guarini. suggested a way to create a new space through more active and amusing application and transformation. In this aspect, Guarini's principles of geometric composition will be one of the role models that need to be seriously reconsidered in chaotic reality of modern architecture.

  • The purpose of this study aims at the development of architectural design thinking which has been studied in the Kant's Epistemology to examine the Schema theories. In this point of view, the related theories are reviewed through Expression Form, representation of architectural knowledge and so on. One of these words, the Schema that formed by transcendental an Experience and Memory of transcendental an Experience, not only Play an important Part in the designer's thinking system about a specific problem but also appeared by distinctive features(image) and included by connotation as like a designer's ideology. Speaking briefly, thinking of a designer familiar with us as abstract confusion can be confined such methodological tools as schema, and image, etc., which we can easily understand the relationship among them through mechanism of Kant's [Concept-Schema-Intuition]. Evidences collected from case studies and its application on architectural design yield following results. First, design thinking can be defined as Kant's Epistemology composed of the schema and its extended factors(architectural-schema). Second, design thinking can be revealed different characteristics depending on the degree of the schema and architectural-schema. Lastly, the methodology will be proposed after application of the result to architects' works.

  • In the digital age, as it is ambiguous to distinguish between the original and a replica, the order of reproduction which is more realistic than the reality is becoming a new cultural order. Before the period when digital paradigm dominates, always the reality has been an object to be copied. But, today is an age of Simulacre where code of digital technology dominates. Such a phenomenon is shown in the construction space without exception Gilles Deleuze who was a representative philosopher of the post-structuralism depicted the concept of Simulacre as an instant 'event' passing by without change in an object or substance. As the result of analyzing what kinds of feature for the concept of event is expressed in the digital space, a diagram itself could be a design process, the digital space with correlation was able to be created through the change in the meaning according to the changing image and my body which was the leading part to form primary space. In such a meaning, this study pays attention to Deleuze's 'Event(Simulacre)' concept. At this transitional period when a new concept of digital space is about to take root, the modern philosophers' theories and the discussions about spatial relativity should be continually studied, along with the development of spacial theories for the modem construction.

  • Anamorphosis is highly favored in modern days as the atmosphere of pursuing unusual manners is growing while transformation and distortion of images are freely available. This research is to understand the affect of these distorted images on space designs and the close connection between anamorphosis and visual perceptions, and to identify the new perceptual phenomenon created through it, and the methods of expressing those. Four expressional methods were defined through the process of studying Anamorphosis based on its definition by Niceron, examining artworks such as paintings and photographs, and case-studying example spaces of visual perception experiments. Expressing anamorphosis through visual perceptions are broadly categorized to directional, dimensional, flatness, and optical. The analysis of 10 case projects suggests that the experimental spaces offer joys of finding and interpreting metaphorical forms and meanings caused by the four characteristic categories above. Also, they artificially show the boundaries between reality and virtual spaces in 2-dimensional or 3-dimensional spaces, and form hyper-boundaries, new experience, and an internal mechanism that is vague and chaotic. Therefore, this research concludes that anamorphosis which is a distorted perspective, is not only a simple measure to overcome perspectival errors, but is an existence suitable to the current era, that will extend its potential and value in spatial design.

  • The Information Diffusion Neural Networks is proposed to regenerate the 3-dimensional terrain elevation data from contour lines. Contours in paper map are an expression of terrain elevation in highly compressed form. A real time regeneration of terrain data for each grid points from the the contour information is required for various applications. In the proposed neural networks, the elevation information on contours is diffused to neighbor units through updating its output toward that of neighbor units. An interpolation of terrain information is achieved from such computation mechanithm. Terrain data regeneration simulation has been done with sampled terrain data on contour lines.

  • Of the numerous events that occur in daily life, we readily remember salient information, but do not retain most less-salient events for a prolonged period. Although some of the episodes contain putatively emotional aspects, the information with lower saliency is rarely stored in neural circuits via an unknown mechanism. We provided substantial evidence indicating that synaptic plasticity in the dorsal ITC of amygdala allows for selective storage of salient emotional experiences, while it deters less-salient experience from entering long-term memory. After activation of D4R or weak fear conditioning, STDP stimulation induces LTD in the LA-ITC synapses. This form of LTD is dependent upon presynaptic D4R, and is likely to result from enhancement of GABA release. Both optogenetic abrogation of LTD and ablation of D4R at the dorsal ITC in vivo lead to heightened and over-generalized fear responses. Finally, we demonstrated that LTD was impaired at the dorsal ITC of PTSD model mice, which suggests that maladaptation of GABAergic signaling and the resultant LTD impairment contribute to the endophenotypes of PTSD. • This study was aimed to make clear fashion is an expression art displaying not only functional or commercial aspects, but creative functions as an artistic work by analyzing Art Mode and its values, and to help develop more creative design by combining fashion with art. In terms of method, relevant documents, precedent studies, and the works announced in domestic and foreign fashion collections, such as Vogue, Fashion News, Gap, and Collections from 2000 to 2009. According to the findings, artistic works were used by the Art Mode in modern fashion. The respect of artists was expressed using historic famous painting works or current works in various fields, designers' individuality was shown by directly applying work messages to clothes, and fashion design was converted into a tool to communicate the messages like artistic works. Second, the various styles, using the formative character of modern art styles from animalism to modern abstractism, showed the creativity of design, transformed art into the art that enables to see the image of modern art, and presented the possibility of developing into a newer creative design through the application of numerous art styles and the transformation of ideas. Third, the collaboration with artists was used. Fashion designers or fashion brands tried to change the images of works or brands in partnership with artists or to increase differentiated images. The future direction of fashion is a pursuit of new form and content to express fashion, not simply to use artistic works. It is expected that such pursuit will lead to more creative and artistic fashion design.

  • In this paper, we study scheduling schemes for two-user two-way wireless relaying systems. Two transmission modes are considered: point-to-point direct transmission and two-way amplify-and-forward relaying. An optimal scheduling scheme that opportunistically selects the best transmission mode for each user is proposed to minimize the sum bit error rate (BER). The performance lower bound of the optimal scheduling scheme is analyzed, and closed-form expression of the lower-bound BER is derived. However, for optimal scheduling, the scheduler requires the knowledge of channel state information (CSI) of all links. To reduce the feedback information of CSI, we also propose a suboptimal scheduling scheme that selects the transmission mode using only the CSI of two direct links. Simulation results show that there are 4 dB to 8 dB gains for the proposed optimal and suboptimal schemes over the fixed direct transmission and fixed two-way relayed transmission scheme. The performance gap between the optimal and suboptimal scheduling schemes is small, which implies a good trade-off between implementation complexity and system performance.

  • DC and AC current crowding effects for microwave and high speed bipolar transistors are investigated in detail using a new and accurate measurement technique based on Z-parameter equationa. Using the new measurement technique dc and ac current crowding effects have been explained clearly in bipolar junction transistors. To model ac crowding effects a capacitive element defined as base capacitance (C$_b$), called ac crowding capacitance is added to base resistance in parallel thereby treating the base resistance(R$_b$) as base impedance Z$_b$. It is shown that base resistance decreases with increasing collector current due to dc current crowding and approaches to a certain limited value at high collector current due to current crowding and approaches to a certain limited value at high collector currents regardless of the emitter size. It is also observed that due to ac current crowding base capacitance increases with increasing collector current. To quantigy the ac crowding effects for SPICE circuit simulation the base capacitance(C$_b$) including the base depletion and diffusion components has been modeled with an analytical expression form.

  • Studies were carried out to investigate physiological and biochemical analysis of recessive lethal mutant "nmn" and to observe the cuticle formation and dermal gland. All nmn homozygous larvae continued to eat a few mulberry leaves, and died without entering into molt. In case of artificial hatching, eggs had a higher nmn individual segregation ratio than in hibernating eggs. The percentage of nmn individuals with the hatching days was alike during 3days period. As a result of histological observation, nmn mutants dermal gland was different from normal dermal gland in form and size. Normal was formed new cuticle in the middle of the molting, but not in nmn mutant. Total protein content in haemolymph of the normal larva was more than that of nmn smutant and there was a difference between normal and nmn mutant protein components.omponents.
