Lu Xun was closely bounded with art since he was young, and he had a thorough knowledge of art. This treatise discerned how Lu Xun substituted and expressed his emotion through his work of art, and what was characteristic of his selection and combination of colors. Truly, color is related to statement of human mind. Lu Xun expressed certain color either consciously or unconsciously when he created human figure. The group of black in human figure in his art is representative example of it. Lu Xun always used heavy and dark color to emphasize human figure so that people can assume their lives and character. This artistic mentality or, great choice of art, relates to Lu Xun's individual life and state of mind. However, Lu Xun did not always choose dark color. Sometimes he looked squarely at darkness and tried to pursue bright color presupposing 'hope' at the same time.

An increase in the number of immigrants to Korea since the late 1980s' has signified the proliferation of globalization and global capitalism. In Korea, most married immigrants are women, as the culture emphasizes patrilineage and the stability of the institution of marriage, particularly in rural areas. Immigrant women have experienced dual ordeals. The Aogra Internet community in Korea has been one of the most representative sites that has shown the power of communities in cyberspace since 2002, leading the discussion of social issues and deliberative democracy both online and offline. This paper analyzed Koreans' writings (such as long comments) on immigrant women in the Agora community. The analysis revealed the following results: first, immigrant women were referred to using terms related to prostitution, with excessive expression of disgust, which is called a "narrative of identity." Second, anti-multiculturalists called Korean men victims of married immigrant women and expressed hatred toward immigrant women, which is called a "narrative of sacrifice." Third, anti-multiculturalists justified their emotions as just resentment based on ideas of justice, equality, and patriotism, concealing the emotion of disgust, which is called the "narrative of justice, equality." Fourth, antimulticulturalists played roles to spread the emotion of disgust, by repeatedly referring to international marriage fraud and immigrant workers' crimes, which is called "narrative of crime." Fifth, some positive writings on immigrant women were based on empathy(a concept defined in this context by Martha Nussbaum), but they can be analyzed as narratives encouraging cultural integration through the perspective of orientalism. Therefore, comments on immigrant women in the Agora represent a "catch-22" dilemma. To deal with conflicts arising from disgust and violations of human rights, civic education focusing on humanism is needed in this multicultural era.

Cho Gwang-jo(趙光祖, 1482-1519) was the moralist who had the purest conscience and aimed the devoted politics among many fellow Confucianists of Chosun Dynasty. He even criticized his teacher who was in his late forty years for not being able to control his emotions when he was just a teenager. That is to say, he was the one who have kept his cold reasons for entire life. Nevertheless, as mentioned before, Cho Gwang-jo was very faithful to his emotions and also very honest. We find that he was definitely emotional. He demanded to change the relationship between the king and the courtier to the one between the father and the son with humane communication. He expressed his mind and emotion he had used to have at the moment of his death: he loved his king just as he loved his father. However, the king, Joongjong, was indifferent at the human's emotion as if he was a senseless figure. That was the saddest frustration and grief he had. However, his grief did not remained just as the mere grief but again survived as the hope for the survivors and descendants with the big echo. In this respect, his gried did not just end as the grief but it can be said that it even revived itself as the strength and courage. Then, Cho Gwang-jo's life as a human being was never a failure. Moreover, his grief and agony did not just remained as the vain emotion and sadness.

The analysis category of Art to Wear was text analyzed from the research material of 100 projects put together by fashion specialist. The conclusion of Art to Wear was comprehended the general features of it were compared and analyzed from a semiotics context. According to this analysis, the formative features of modern Art to Wear is categorized into three different dimensions from a semiotics light. The formative features of modem Art to Wear in the light of syntactic dimension was divided as an open constructed shape of Space Extension, non-typical Deformation, Geometrical Plasticity. The formative features of modem Art to Wear in the light of semantic dimension express symbolic meaning through metaphorical sign. These sign reflect the body image of the life and death and its objective of Abjection, Hybrid of discultural appearance and the image of Hyper-reality, which are features used to comprehend the inner meaning. The formative features of modem Art to Wear in the light of pragmatic dimension divided the artist emotion and meaning system delivered by Emotive Image, the Phatic Image that arouse inner signification and the Poetic Image which contain artistic and aesthetic meaning within it.

Among korean traditional culture, TalChum(mask dance) which bears our unique cultural emotion, is about wearing a Tal(korean mask) and dancing, which express our ethnic feeling. The ethnic feeling was expressed into silhouette of hotel uniform which sightseers at home and abroad most frequently visit. This would be the best and the fastest way to show and deliver ethinic feeling of Korea. Fashion design of an uniform would be the best way to express group's unification and attachment. The purpose of this study was to design uniforms, in order to satisfy the property of function, aesthetic points, symbolism to inhere and to differentiate the group from others by using plastic and creative design. This study was meant to induce people to get near to characteristic of Korean culture, using hotel uniform design. Mask's plastic beauty of characteristic Chosun dynasty and express vividly Tal's image with Korean traditional reality was applied on hotel uniform design. By doing so, visitors can come back to the hotel with longtime memory of Korea. The characteristics and the humorous symbolism of Tal were designed and applied to uniform design on collar, bodice, pocket, and sleeves.

Recognizing a limits on quantitative evaluation of cultural contents' and for its betterment, study aims developing a qualitative evaluation model. For this study, Reception Theory, Semiotics and Psychology were derived for epistemological dimension to contemplate culture contents' essential attribute. To be concrete, cultural contents was examined as experiential products, emotional products, rememberable products and texts. Also, codes of fun, emotion and culture were discussed as intrinsic attributes for cultural contents and how those attributes were expressed or composed in cultural contents was discussed as well. Evaluation items were extracted based on final discussion at the epistemic level, set up the final evaluation model by taking experts' advices on each items. With all those outcomes, qualitative evaluation model for cultural contents was developed. For the importance of each index in the model, priority was granted by weighting on each index. Lastly, evaluation scale was developed for each index. The culture contents' evaluation model developed in study is meaningful not only in drawing qualitative evaluation items of video(image) contents and developing the index and model for the first time, but also its possibility of wide use for other genres.

Matting made of wools has a history which gose back even before B.C.7000, the time which is believed to be the starting point of the fabrication, production and usage of wools by the nomads in the Western and Central Asia who had made the living by breeding sheeps. The purpose of this thesis is to investigate the function of wool matting in Asia. The research period limited to 9C A.D. When classified by the method of production of wool matting, the pile method and felt method have been widely used by the nomads in Western Asia and the cattle breeding nomads in Central Asia consecutively. From ancient times, wool matting has been considered to be one of the necessities by the nomads for living in the wilderness, and even at present, continued to be used by the people both for the purpose of everyday use and decoration. Other than fore-mentioned purposes, wool matting have function that is expressed the incantation, authorization and hierarchy, emotion and desire, and cultural exchange between nations. In addition, wool matting had also been used as a mark to show ownership and for military purposes. Even a simple wool matting had a different symbolism and function by different region and people throughout Asia. However, by finding and studying further abut what wool matting had symbolized and how it had been used, the tradition and history of wool matting could continue to attract the interests which will make the tradition to continue. And also, in order for the tradition to continue, the utmost efforts to innovate and produce better quality and design wool matting to fulfil the needs of modern times are truly required.

The purpose of this study is to consider various characteristics in the graffiti-look in the modem fashion by interpreting meanings and properties of graffiti, transferred from street art to a new main stream in art. The scope of this study is limited to works from the 1990s to the present, and the materials for the literatures and exploratory study are fashion-related portfolios and the domestic and foreign fashion magazines. The first characteristic is satire. The graffiti-look conveys directly or indirectly with phrase or symbol various messages of politics, social ideology, wealth and poverty, environmental pollution, anti-war, etc. Body is even more used for graffitiand designers express freely their identity or ideology through the formative style of graffiti. The second characteristic is pleasure. Fantastic expressions from a fairy-tale or fable in the graffiti-look give humor meaning freedom and sense of liberation in a sense of catharsis to the modem people's emotion. The graffiti-look uses graffiti works to introduce its original message of humanism, happiness, humor, etc. to clothing; as a result, the graffiti-look features pleasure. The third characteristic iscommercial application. Brand logo designed by graffiti style is decorated with clothing, accessory, or ornament. This may not only emphasize brand name through lingual function of graffiti, but also be used for a distinctive marketing strategy against other brands. Logo which is regarded motive or pattern of design leaves a image instead of a meaning and performs a design function stressing formative sense.

The suspense will be realized as various techniques influenced the perception of audience organically each other. These varied techniques induce isolation as well as a restricted space as formal system. Moreover, it could intensify emotional experience of audience that they will not escape in addition to the depth.. This study chose a movie (2010) and <127 hours> (2010) which used the limited space as the material as the analysis target to examine. It is the goal of this study to analyze the conversion of careful viewpoint and the flashback, and to raise the meaning of the suspense expression through this. The researcher would consider how the suspense is expressed based on the conversion of viewpoint and how the flashback delivers the psychology and emotion.

This study examined the pixel's expression trend and nature featured in contemporary fashion, which works as a basic unit symbolizing the digital image, paying attention to its formativeness. The work through this process aimed at suggesting an opportunity for recognition about pixel image utilized as a formative component beyond its simple meaning of unit and providing the fundamental materials for usage in creative fashion design reflecting the digital emotion in the future, In research method, literature review was followed on pixel and the empirical study about its image was also performed that was found in the modern fashion. As a result, the trend in pixel has these characteristics. Its first nature lies in its plane expression. It was printed as mosaic or graphic grid image or expressed through patchwork technique. Also, rather than a certain form or figure, its unique image was emphasized according to the applied color, size, and position. Second, a stepwise pattern in pixel was applied to external format for part of clothing, eye glass and necktie, indicating some interest and wit. Third, in application to plane and external shape, the graphically modernized effect was realized, not to mention the illusive image with cubic expression. As shown, the characteristics in contemporary fashion via pixel expression were given in fantastic image, optical humor, and reflection of digital value.
