콘크리트에 접해있는 강재의 국부부식과 피로손상 (Local Corrosion and Fatigue Damages of Steel Plates at the Boundary with Concrete)

  • 최근 일본에서 하로식 트러스교의 콘크리트 상판을 관통하는 사재가 콘크리트 상판의 상부 또는 하부에서 심한 부식손상 에 의해 파단 된 사례가 보고되었다. 이는 도장막의 노화에 따른 콘크리트와의 경계부에 있어 사재의 국부부식에 기인한 것으로 추정되고 있다. 그러므로 이와 같이 콘크리트와 강재의 경계부에 있어서의 국부 부식손상 대책수립 및 이를 기점으로 발생될 수 있는 피로손상에 대한 검토가 필요하다. 본 실험에서는 인장시험편에 부분적으로 콘크리트 블록을 설치한 콘크리트-강재의 모델시험체에 대한 부식환경촉진실험을 실시하여, 경계부의 부식감소량을 측정하였으며, 부식실험 후의 모델시험체를 이용한 피로실험을 실시하였다. 부식촉진실험의 조건으로는 실제대기환경에의 적용성이 검토된 S6사이클(JIS K5621)을 사용하였으며, 부식촉진실험기간은 150일, 300일, 450일, 600일로 각 5개의 모델시험체를 사용하였다. 부식촉진실험결과를 근거로 실험기간에 따른 최대 및 평균 부식깊이를 정량화하였으며, 부식실험 후의 부식 손상된 모델시험체의 피로실험결과를 근거로 실험기간의 증가에 따른 피로강도 감소량을 명확히 하였다.

마우스 배반포 배의 Differential staining에서 Propidium Iodide와 Bisbenzimide의 노출이 미치는 영향 (Effects of Exposure of Propidium Iodide and Bisbenzimide on Differential Staining of Mouse Blastocysts)

  • Objective: These experiments were conducted to investigate the optimal expose length of propidium iodide (PI) and bisbenzimide on differential staining of mouse blastocysts. Materials and methods: A total 964 blastocysts (early${\sim}$hatched) was exposed to PI (n=831) (group I: $\leq$ 10; II: $11{\sim}15$; III: $16{\sim}20$; IV: $\geq$21 sec) and bisbenzimide (n=133) (group A: $\leq$1; B: $1{\sim}$3; C: $\geq$ 4 hr) in several periods for differential staining. Statistical analysis was performed using t-test with SigmaPlot-2001. P-values < 0.05 were accepted as statistically significant. Results: In case of PI exposure, differential staining rates were significantly higher (p<0.05) in group I (89.8%) than in any others (group II: 77.6%; III: 29.6%; IV: 22.2%) and higher (p<0.05) in group II than in group III and IV. In case of bisbenzimide exposure, differential staining rates were not statistically differences in three groups (group A: 97.4%; B: 87.8%; C: 93.3%). Conclusion: The differential staining rates of mouse blastocysts are not affected by the exposure length of bisbenzimide. However, blastocysts were exposed to PI with period of shorter than 15 sec show best outcomes of differential staining rates.

The Effects of Computer Game Exposure on Musculoskeletal Pathological Symptoms in Adolescents

  • Objective: This study aimed to analyze the effects of computer game exposure on pathological musculoskeletal symptoms in adolescents. Method: This study included 10 male junior high school students who used computers less than 3 times a week for 1 hr per day. The subjects were asked to play computer games for 4 hr. Magnetic resonance imaging of the hand and wrist, from the distal radius and ulnar head to the distal phalanges, and radiography of the cervical vertebrae were performed before and after playing computer games. For each dependent variable, a paired t-test was performed to identify significant changes before and after a 4-hr active computer game (p<.05). Results: The horizontal diameters of the flexor tendons in the index and middle fingers were significantly reduced after playing computer games. The horizontal diameters of the flexor tendons of other fingers did not show any significant differences, but there was a tendency toward a decrease after playing computer games. There was no significant change in the cervical lordosis angle before and after playing computer games. However, the cervical lordosis angle was relatively decreased. Conclusion: The results of this study showed that computer game exposure had direct and indirect effects on morphological changes of flexor tendons. In addition, playing computer games for long periods of time can have a negative effect on normal functioning of the musculoskeletal system, with the possible development of abnormalities. However, computer game exposure in adolescents cannot be decisively identified as a factor causing pathological symptoms, based on the results of this study alone. Thus, longterm longitudinal studies on the overall musculoskeletal system are necessary.

일부 용접공의 극저주파 자계노출평가 (Exposure Assessment of Welders to Extremely Low Frequency Magnetic Fields)

  • Objectives: This study was conducted to investigate the patterns of exposure of welders to strong magnetic fields for extended periods of time on the basis of their daily activities as recorded in a logbook. Methods: Male workers whose main job is welding, specifically seven welders occupied with gas tungsten arc welding(GTAW), two performing shielded metal arc welding(SMAW), and ten engaged in gas metal arc welding(GMAW), were measured in terms of the degree to which they were exposed to extremely low frequency(ELF) magnetic fields over 24 hours by using an electromagnetic field meter(EMF meter), as well as based on a daily activity log. Results: The welders were exposed to $1.25{\pm}4.95{\mu}T$ of magnetic field per day on average. For those who spent more than half a day-735.26 minutes, or 51.1% of the day-at work, the figure averages $3.88{\pm}8.85{\mu}T$ with a maximum value of $221.28{\mu}T$. The subject welders spent $338.14{\pm}154.95$ minutes per day at home. During their stays at home, they were exposed to an average of $0.17{\pm}0.06{\mu}T$ with a maximum value of $3.50{\mu}T$. The maximum exposure of $221.28{\mu}T$ occurred when welders performed GMAW. The average exposure reached its highest at $17.71{\pm}6.96{\mu}T$ when conducting SMAW. Magnetic field exposure also depends upon posture: welders who sat while welding were exposed five times more than those who stood during work, and this difference is statistically significant. As for the relationship between distance from the welding power supply and maximum magnetic field exposure, maximum magnetic field exposure decreases as the distance increases. The average magnetic field exposure, in the meantime, showed no significant difference depending on distance. Conclusions: The following were observed through this study: 1) welders, while conducting jobs, are exposed to magnetic fields not only from the welding machine, but also from the surrounding base material due to the current flowing between the welding machine and base material, meaning that they are continuously exposed to a magnetic field; and 2) welders are more exposed to magnetic fields while they sit at a job compared to when they stand up.

납 노출에 따른 붕어(Carassius auratus) 조직의 미세구조 및 생리적 변화 (Morphological and Physiological Effects of Lead (Pb) Exposure on Tissues of Carassius auratus)

  • 본 연구는 Pb의 농도와 노출 기간이 붕어(Carassius auratus) 조직의 미세구조와 생리적 변화에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 아가미, 뼈와 근육 조직에서 Pb의 축적 농도는 노출 40일에 증가하였다. 아가미 조직 내 Pb의 축적량은 다른 조직에 비하여 높았으며, 아가미, 뼈 및 근육 조직에서 노출기간이 길어질수록 증가하였다. Pb에 노출된 아가미, 뼈와 근육 조직의 항산화효소 활성은 아가미와 근육 조직에서 높았으며, 신장 조직에서 가장 낮은 활성을 보였다. 또한 항산화효소 중 superoxide dismutase의 활성은 대조군에 비해 2배 정도 증가하였으나, glutathion peroxidas의 활성은 매우 낮았다. Pb에 노출된 아가미 조직에서 점액세포는 수가 증가하였으며, 곤봉화와 부종이 이차새변에서 나타났다. 또한 40일간 Pb에 노출된 아가미 조직 내 미토콘드리아와 핵에서는 막의 손상이 관찰되었으며, 신장 조직 내 사구체는 수축되어 보우만 주머니의 공간이 넓게 관찰되었다. 이러한 결과로 보아 붕어 조직 이 장기간 고농도의 Pb에 노출이 되면 비정상적인 형태로 변형되며, 이에 따라 매우 유해한 영향을 받을 수 있을 것으로 생각된다.

방사선 중재적 시술 중 시술자의 피폭선량에 대한 연구 (A Study on Radiation Exposure Dose of Operator During Interventional Radiology Procedure)

  • 방사선 중재적 시술자들이 중재적 시술 중 잠재적인 위험을 인식하지 못하고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 방사선 중재적 시술 중 시술자들의 피폭선량을 평가하여 이를 바탕으로 중재적 시술 중 피폭선량을 줄일 수 있는 방법의 기준안을 제안하는 것이다. 본 연구는 3개월 동안 전신선량계를 사용하여 20명의 중재적 시술자로부터 시행하는 모든 중재적 시술에서 방사선 피폭선량을 측정하였다. 방사선 중재적 시술을 시행하는 동안 납당량이 0.5 mmPb 방사선장해방어용 기구를 착용하는 것으로 평균 89.5 %의 피폭선량이 감쇄되었고, 납당량이 두꺼울수록 선량감쇄율은 증가하였다. TACE 시술을 시행하는 동안 연속투시보다 펄스투시를 선택하여 사용하는 것은 피폭선량이 평균 47.7 % 감쇄되었다. 중재적 시술자는 중재적 시술이 진행되는 동안 방사선장해방어용 기구를 착용하고, 적극적인 방사선방호 활동을 실시하여야 하며, 자신의 피폭선량에 대해 알고 있어야 한다. 그리고 피폭선량을 최소화하기 위한 자신의 위치나 장비 사용에 대해서도 알아야 한다.

산화알루미늄 섬유와 니켈분말 후처리공정에서 입자의 노출특성 (Exposure Characteristics of Particles during the After-treatment Processes of Aluminum Oxide Fibers and Nickel Powders)

  • Objectives: Nanomaterials have been used in various fields. As use of nanoproducts is increasing, workers dealing with nanomaterials are also gradually increasing. Exposure assessments for nanomaterials have been carried out for protection of worker's health in workplace. Exposure studies were mainly focused on manufacturing processes, but these studies on after-treatment processes such as refinement, weighing, and packing were insufficient. So, we investigated exposure characteristics of particles during after-treatment processes of $Al_2O_3$ fibers and Ni powders. Methods: Mass-production of Ni powder process was carried out in enclosed capture-type canopy hood. In a developing stage, $Al_2O_3$ was handled with a local ventilation unit. Exposure characteristics of particles were investigated for $Al_2O_3$ fiber and Ni powder processes during the periods of 10:00 to 16:00, 20 May 2014 and 13:00 to 16:00, 21 May 2014, respectively. Three real-time aerosol instruments were utilized in exposure assessment. A scanning mobility particle sizer(SMPS, nanoscan, model 3910, TSI) and an optical particle counter(OPC, portable aerosol spectrometer, model 1.109, Grimm) were used to determine the particle size distribution in the size range of 10-420 nm and $0.25-32{\mu}m$, respectively. In addition, a nanoparticle aerosol monitor(NAM, model 9000, TSI) was used to measure lung-deposited nanoparticle surface area. Membrane filters(isopore membrane filter, pore size of 100 nm) were also used for air sampling for the FE-SEM(model S-5000H, Hitachi) analysis using a personal sampling pump(model GilAir Plus by 2.5 L/min, Gilian). Conclusions: For Ni powder after-treatment process, only 27% increase in particle concentration was found during the process. However, for $Al_2O_3$ fiber after-treatment process, significant exposure(1.56-3.34 times) was observed during the process.

대두(大豆)에 대(對)한 아황산가스의 영향(影響) (Effect of of Sulfur dioxide gas on Soybean Plant)

  • 대기오염물질의 하나인 아황산가스를 $0.2mg/{\ell}$$0.5mg/{\ell}$의 농도(濃度)로 대두(大豆)에 접촉(接觸)시켜 접촉시간(接觸時間) 및 시각(時刻)에 따른 피해증상(被害症狀), 피해엽률(被害葉率), 수량(收量), 체내유황함량, 엽록소함량 등(等)을 조사(調査)한 결과(結果)를 보면 다음과 같다. 가, $0.5mg/{\ell}$ 아황산가스를 시간별(時間別)로 접촉(接觸), ${\bullet}$ 5분간(分間)의 단시간접촉(短時間接觸)에서 52%의 감수(減收)를 가져왔고 60분접촉(分接觸)에서 76.4%로 감수(減收)하였다. ${\bullet}$ 가스접촉시간(接觸時間) 및 감수률(減收率)과 체내유황함량은 정(正)의 상관(相關)이 있었고 수용성(水溶性) 유황(硫黃)이 전유황(全硫黃)보다 유의도(有意度)가 높았다. 나, $0.2mg/{\ell}$의 아황산가스를 시각별(時刻別)로 접촉(接觸), ${\bullet}$ 엽피해(葉被害)는 10-11시(時)에 가장 심(甚)하였으며 22-23시(時)에는 육안적(肉眼的) 피해(被害)가 없었다. ${\bullet}$ 엽(葉) 경내 유황함량(硫黃含量)은 10-11시(時)에 가장 많았고 18-19시(時)에 가장 적었으며 엽록소함량은 10-11시(時)에 가장적고 22-23시(時)에 가장 많았다. ${\bullet}$ 엽내유황함량(葉內硫黃含量)과 피해엽률(被害葉率)은 정(正)의 상관이 있었으며 엽록소함량과 피해엽률(被害葉率)과는 부(否)의 상관이 있었다. ${\bullet}$ 엽록체의 흡광도(吸光度)는 10-11시(時)에 가장 감소(減少)가 컸고 22-23시(時)에 가장 감소(減少)가 적었으며 $456m{\mu}$$663m{\mu}$에서 흡광도(吸光度)의 감소(減少)가 컸다.

열기(熱氣) 및 열수처리(熱水處理)가 목재(木材)의 이학적(理學的) 성질(性質)에 미치는 영향(影響) (Influence of Oven Heating and Water Heating on the Physical and Mechanical Properties of Wood)

  • 본(本) 실험(實驗)은 고온열처리(高溫熱處理)가 고로쇠나무(Acer mono Max.)의 재질(材質)에 미치는 영향(影響)을 알기 위하여 온도(溫度) 100$^{\circ}C$에서 열기(熱氣)와 열수(熱水)의 가열기간별(加熱期間別)로 처리(處理)한 후(後) 몇가지 물리적(物理的) 성질(性質)과 기계적(機械的) 성질(性質)의 변화(變化)를 측정(測定)하였으며 그 결과(結果)를 요약(要約)하면 다음과 같다. 5.1 생재비중(生材比重)은 열기가열기간(熱氣(加熱期間) 6일(日)부터, 열수가열기간(熱水加熱期間) 4일(日)부터 감소(減少)하였다. 5.2 방사방향(放射方向) 수축율(收縮率)은 열기가열기간(熱氣加熱期間) 2일(日)부터 감소(減少)하였으나 열수가열기간(熱水加熱期間) 6일(日)부터 증가(增加)하였으며, 접선방향수축율(接線方向收縮率)은 열기기가열기간(熱氣加熱期間) 2일(日)부터 감소(減少)하였으나 열수가열기간(熱水加熱期間) 2일(日)부터 증가(增加)하였다. 5.3 흡수량(吸水量)은 열기가열기간(熱氣加熱期間) 2일(日)부터 감소(減少)하였으나 열수가열기간(熱水加熱期間) 4일(日)부터 증가(增加)하였다. 5.4 종압축강도(縱壓縮强度)는 열기가열기간(熱氣加熱期間) 4일(日)까지 증가(增加)하였으나 6일(日)부터 감소(減少)하였으며, 열수가열기간(熱水加熱期間) 2일(日)부터 감소(減少)하였다. 5.5 전단강도(剪斷强度)는 열기가열기간(熱氣加熱期間) 2일(日)까지 증가(增加)하였으나 4일(日)부터 감소(減少)하였으며, 열수가열기간(熱水加熱期間) 4일(日)부터 감소(減少)하였다. 5.6 휨강도(强度)는 열기가열기간(熱氣加熱期間) 4일(日)까지 증가(增加)하였으나 6일(日)부터 감소(減少)하였으며, 열수가열기간(熱水加熱期間) 6일(日)부터 감소(減少)하였다. 5.7 충격(衝擊) 휨 흡수(吸收)에너지는 열기가열기간(熱氣加熱期間) 4일(日)부터, 열수가열기간(熱水加熱期間) 2일(日)부터 감소(減少)하였다.

병원환경내 소음과 입원환자의 반응에 관한 연구 -일 종합병원을 중심으로- (A Study on the Noise and Reaction to Noise of Inpatient)

  • This descriptive-correlational study was conducted to exam if there were relation between noise level and reaction to noise of inpatient. The purpose of this study was to provide a basic data for comfort of patient hospitalized. The hypotheses of the study are : 1. The higher perceived noise level of inpatient, the higher reaction level to noise. 2. The higher perceived noise level of inpatient, physiological reaction level to noise. 3. The higher perceived noise level of inpatient, the higher emotional reaction level to noise. The participant were 153 patients hospitalized in one general hospital. The research instruments used for this study were noise scale and reaction of patient scale developed by the author. Data was collected over a period of 10 days from the 9th of July to the 18th of July, 1994. Statistical analysis of the data included percentage, t-test, ANOVA and Scheffe test. Examination of the hypotheses was done by use of pearson correlation coefficient. The results are summarized as follows ; 1. The mean score of noise level was 2.24. Among noise factors reported by the subjects, that which ranked highest was 'Conversation of Visitors'(2.82). Next were 'noise of handling receptacle'(2.73), 'the others noise from outside'(2.73) and 'Conversation of supporter'(2.71). 2. The mean score of reaction level to noise was 2.19, physiological reaction level 2.04 and emotional reaction level 2.37. Among Physiological reaction to noise reported by the subjects, that which ranked highest was 'tired'(2.39). Next were 'sweating'(2.22) and 'headache'(2.20). Among emotional reaction to noise reported by the subjects, that which ranked highest was 'to irritate nerve'(2.53). Next were 'disturbing rest'(2.51) and 'to disturb sleep'(2.46). 3. The relationship between perceived noise level of inpatient and reaction to noise was statically significant (r=0.599, p=.0001). The relationship between perceived noise level of inpatient and physiological reaction to noise was statically significant (r=0.554, p=.0001). The relationship between perceived noise level of inpatient and emotional reaction to noise was statically significant(r=0.535, p=.0001). Thus hypothese 1, 2, 3 were supported. 4. There were significant differences between noise level of inpatient, admission periods, mobility of physical condition and exposure level to noise. 5. There were significant differences between physiological reaction level to noise, admission periods, mobility of physical condition and operation Yes or No. 6. There were significant difference between emotional reaction level to noise, admission periods, mobility of physical condition and exposure level to noise.
