The purpose of this study is to analyze the residents' perceptions and assessments of impacts of the EXPO 2012 Yeosu Korea, hosted from May 15 to August 15, 2012. Residents of Yeosu area, in general, assessed the impacts of the EXPO highly positively and showed as a high degree of satisfaction. They evaluated the urban development effects of the EXPO as a 3.61 point in a 5 point scale and a total degree of satisfaction of 65.2%. In terms of perception and satisfaction index, it showed that 79.4% of an improvement of transportation infrastructure, 72.1% of an urban environmental improvement, 70.4% of an increase in visiting tourists, 69.0% of a raising of self-esteem as Yeosu citizens, 67.8% of an improvement of city's image, 66.2% of an enhancement of inner city transportation infrastructure, 60.5% of an enhancement of infrastructure of tourism, 51.3% of an local economy vitaliation, and 49.7% of a globalization effect in order. In conclusion, through the hosting of the EXPO 2012 Yeosu Korea, residents of Yeosu area assessed, the urban development in transportation infrastructure was moved advanced by eleven years and the residential environment improvement by eight years.

This paper attempts to examine the effect of EXPO 2012 Yeosu on the economy of Gwangyang bay area. Based on previous successful EXPOs, We identified four major positive effects (direct economic impact, regional infrastructure developments, redevelopment of slum areas and industrial complex, and internationalization of Gwangyang bay area). Especially, EXPO 2012 Yeosu will contribute to make the job creation of 97,842 employees and promote tourism industry. To maximize the above positive effects of EXPO 2012 Yeosu, we suggest several strategic alternatives in this paper. First of all, we need to make several plans for realizing the specialized theme of EXPO 2012 Yeosu. Second, local governments should create a more favorable business environment for foreign investors. Third, we have to make the strategic tourism programs to attract foreign tourists. Finally, local governments need to make the several communication strategies of utilizing mass media and non-mass media.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the specialist groups' perception and assessment on the urban development impacts by the EXPO 2012 Yeosu Korea, hosted from May 15 to August 15, 2012. In general, the specialist group positively evaluate about the urban development impacts of the 2012 Yeosu EXPO. They assess considerably positively, in particular on the enhancement of accessibility toward the capital region from Yeosu city, the vitalization of the local economy, the improvement of the city image, the invigoration of tourism resulted from the expansion of tourists accommodation facilities. In addition, they appraise that the urban development of Yeosu city would be advanced about 9.5 years in the wider transportation network and about 9.4 years the improvement of urban residential environment through hosting of the EXPO. They agree with that the image of Yeosu city as a site of marine tourism was significantly improved after the EXPO.

지난 11월 13일부터 17일까지 미국 일리노이주 시카고에 있는 맥코믹 전시센터에서 PACK EXPO '94가 열렸다. 흔히 '시카고팩'으로 불리우는 이 전시회는 독일의 뒤셀도르프에서 열리는 '인터팩', 일본에서 개최되는 '도쿄팩'과 더불어 세계 3대 포장박람회로 손꼽히고 있다. 사단법인 한국포장협회는 이번에 처음으로 해외전시 참관단을 모집, 모두 44명이 참여한 가운데 11월 13일부터 20일까지 7박8일 일정으로 참관여행을 다녀왔다. PACK EXP

미국의 PMA, 독일의 포토키나와 함께 사진쇼에서 함께 거론되곤 하는‘Photo Imaging Expo 2005’는 일본 카메라영상기기공업회, 사진감광재료공업회, 일본칼라라보협회, 일본사진영상용품공업회 등이 공동 주최하며 올해에는 사진관련 통합전시회로 열렸다. 양적으론 통합이지만 질적인 면에서는 4개 단체 합동이라도 빅사이트의 전시장을 통째로 빌리는 힘도 없이 전시장 2개 층만을 빌려 쓰는 초라한 상황은 격세지감을 느끼게 했다. 본 고는 수년 동안 렌즈 전문가의 입장으로 본 전시회를 다녀온 다카노 에이이치 선생이 전시회를 참관하고 나름대로 느낀 소감을 원고로 작성하여 광학세계에 기고한 것이다. 번역은 (주)이오시스템의 박성천 과장이 수고해주셨다.

Laser Expo는 비록 규모가 큰 전시는 아니지만 광학 분야별로 세계적인 회사들이 거의 참여하여 응용기술 및 관련 제품을 전시한다는 점에서 큰 의미를 갖는다. 또한 일본에서 매년 7월에 개최하는 인터옵토의 세트제품전시회와 차별화하여 기간 중 분야별 전문기술세미나도 같이 개최한다. 무엇보다도 렌즈 관련 전문가들이 한자리에 모여 전문기술에 대한 교류의 장을 가질 수 있다는 점이 본 전시회의 백미가 아닌가 싶다. 금년이 3회째이므로 해가 거듭될수록 이러한 교류가 더욱 활발해질 것으로 예상된다.

한국광학기기협회는 한·일 광학산업기술협력사업중 대일 시장개척단 사업의 일환으로 지난 3월 17일부터 20일까지 일본 동경에서 열린‘Photo Imaging Expo 2005’에 국내업체 11개사와 한국공동관으로 참가한데 이어, 지난 4월 13일부터 16일까지 러시아 모스크바 국제컨벤션센터(SOKOLNIKI)에서 개최된 모스크바 사진영상기자재전(Photo Forum 2005)에 올해 처음으로 국내 업체 8개사와 한국공동관으로 참가, 우리 제품의 우수성을 세계 시장에 널리 알리고 수출활성화의 교두보를 마련했다.

지난 호에 이어 본 고에서는‘일본 Photo Imaging Expo 2005’의 리뷰를 다뤘다. 수년동안 렌즈 전문가의 입장으로 동전시회를 다녀온 일본 광과학연구소의 다카노 에이이치 선생이 전시회를 참관하고 나름대로 느낀 소감을 원고로 작성하여 광학세계에 기고한 내용이다. 지난 호는 전시회 경향에 관해 기술하였고 이번 호는 일본의 카메라 메이커와 광학제품업체들의 현황 및 제품 동향에 관해 기술하였다. 중간 중간 보충설명은 아사히 카메라(일본 카메라 전문지)를 인용하여 서술했음을 밝히며 이번 번역도 (주)이오시스템의 박성천 과장이 수고해 주셨다.
