ATCIS-II의 사용이 의무적인 사용자의 인식이 심적 채택과 사용에 미치는 영향 (Effects of the User Perception on Symbolic Adoption and Usage in Mandatory ATCIS-II Use)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to propose useful suggestions by analyzing causal effect relationship between perceived usefulness (PU), perceived ease-of-use (PEOU), symbolic adoption (SA) which have four constructs, and ATCIS-II usage in mandatory context. Methods: Based on prior research, a research model was constructed using the variables of Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), the symbolic adoption theory, and the post-adoptive behavior variables. A structured questionnaire was conducted for those who use ATCIS-II in Republic of Korea Army (ROKA), and a total of 183 usable responses were collected and empirically analyzed using SmartPLS 3.3.9. Results: The results of this study are as follows; PEOU have a significant effect on PU and two constructs of SA (heightened enthusiasm, effort worthiness). PU have a significant effect on every construct of SA (heightened enthusiasm, mental acceptance, effort worthiness, use commitment). In addition, it was found that heightened enthusiasm have a significant effect on both expanded usage and exploratory usage. Also, mental acceptance and use commitment have a significant effect on exploratory usage. Conclusion: The findings of this empirical study have implications for proposing SA can explain mandated user's behavior and giving possible way that improve organization performance which adopt Information System (IS) by motivating end-user to extend IS's feature and explore new ways of using IS at work.

  • This study is to investigate factors that affect usage change in mobile data service (MDS). In the first, an exploratory study based on 378 survey responses was conducted to learn about important decision factors of MDS usage. It revealed discrepancy between the influencing forces of usage increase and those of usage decrease. Based on the findings from the exploratory study and the two-factor theory, we postulated information quality as the motivator and system quality as the de-motivator (or hygiene) of MDS. Then, a confirmative study was undertaken on their respective role in encouraging and discouraging the usage of mobile data service. A research model was proposed and subsequent hypotheses were empirically tested with partial least square (PLS) based on 478 responses from the users of mobile data service. It was learned that information quality (as a motivator) was positively associated with usage increase in mobile data service, but system quality (as a de-motivator) was not. Also, system quality was negatively associated with usage decrease, but information quality was not. Lastly, their association strength was partially moderated by the type of motivation for using MDS.

  • Conventional networking and telecommunications infrastructure characterized by wires, fixed location, and inflexibility is giving way to mobile technologies. Numerous research reports point to the ultimate domination of wireless communication. With the increasing prevalence of advanced cell-phones, various mobile data services (hereafter MDS) are gaining popularity. Although cellular networks were originally introduced for voice communications, statistics indicate that data services are replacing the matured voice service as the growth engine for telecom service providers. For example, SK Telecom, the Korea's largest mobile service provider, reported that 25.6% of revenue and 28.5% of profit came from MDS in 2006 and the share is growing. Statistics also indicate that, in 2006, the average revenue per user (ARPU) for voice didn't change but MDS grew seven percents from the previous year, further highlighting its growth potential. MDS is defined "as an assortment of digital data services that can be accessed using a mobile device over a wide geographic area." A variety of MDS have been deployed, with a few reaching the status of killer applications. Many of them need to access the Internet through the cellular-phone infrastructure. In the past, when the cellular network didn't have acceptable bandwidth for data services, SMS (short messaging service) dominated MDS. Now, Internet-ready, next-generation cell-phones are driving rich digital data services into the fabric of everyday life, These include news on various topics, Internet search, mapping and location-based information, mobile banking and gaming, downloading (i.e., screen savers), multimedia streaming, and various communication services (i.e., email, short messaging, messenger, and chaffing). The huge economic stake MDS has on its stakeholders warrants focused research to understand associated dynamics behind its adoption. Lyytinen and Yoo(2002) pointed out the limitation of traditional adoption models in explaining the rapid diffusion of innovations such as P2P or mobile services. Also, despite the increasing popularity of MDS, unexpected drop in its usage is observed among some people. Intrigued by these observations, an exploratory study was conducted to examine decision factors of MDS usage. Data analysis revealed that the increase and decrease of MDS use was influenced by different forces. The findings of the exploratory study triggered our confirmatory research effort to validate the uni-directionality of studied factors in affecting MDS usage. This differs from extant studies of IS/IT adoption that are largely grounded on the assumption of bi-directionality of explanatory variables in determining the level of dependent variables (i.e., user satisfaction, service usage). The research goal is, therefore, to examine if increase and decrease in the usage of MDS are explained by two separate groups of variables pertaining to information quality and system quality. For this, we investigate following research questions: (1) Does the information quality of MDS increase service usage?; (2) Does the system quality of MDS decrease service usage?; and (3) Does user motivation for subscribing MDS moderate the effect information and system quality have on service usage? The research questions and subsequent analysis are grounded on the two factor theory pioneered by Hertzberg et al(1959).   • HCI 분야의 기존 연구들은 개인 사용자들의 문화적 성향을 국가 수준에서 일반화하여 설명하는 경우가 대부분이다. 그러나 HCI 분야의 연구 대상이 되는 기기나 온라인 서비스의 사용은 개인 수준에서의 행동인 경우가 대부분이기 때문에 개인 사용자의 문화적 성향을 국가 수준에서 일반화하여 파악하는 것은 개인 수준의 행동을 정확하게 설명하지 못하는 한계를 가질 수 있다. 이는 문화적 성향이 한 국가 내의 사용자들에게서도 개인에 따라 다양한 양상을 나타낼 수 있고, 더 나아가 한 개인 안에서도 사용 대상에 따라 다른 양상을 나타낼 수 있기 때문이다. 따라서 본 연구는 사용자들이 가지고 있는 문화적 성향에 있어 국가 간 차이의 존재 뿐만 아니라, 특정 기기나 온라인 서비스와 같은 사용 대상에 따라서도 차이가 존재할 수 있음을 탐색적으로 제시하는 것을 기본 목적으로 한다.

한글 자음 및 모음 사용을 통해 드러나는 온라인에서의 정서 표현에 대한 탐색적 연구 (An Exploratory Study on Usage of Korean Consonants and Vowels for Delivering Emotion)

  • On Korean websites, people often use several Korean vowels or consonants solely, which is the way to express emotion. This way of expression has scarcely been examined seriously, though it is one of the most popular online slangs. This is an exploratory study that reveals how and how much these expressions are used on social media. Data crawling technique was used as a way to examine the usage of vowels and consonants in ordinary situations. 6 'Facebook pages' popular among Korean users are selected, and about 2.5 million comments are collected from posts in those pages. 10 expressions, including 'ㅋ(K)', 'ㅎ(H)', 'ㅜ(U)', are counted and analyzed from the collected texts of comments. As a result, several patterns of using vowels and consonants are found. Especially, 'ㅋ(K)' is used much more frequently than other vowels or consonants, and used more continually. It is also found that the patterns of using vowels or consonants in writing comments changes as the mood of posts or the characteristics of Facebook pages.

An Exploratory Study on the Usage Patterns of Software-based Design Tools in Designers' Ideation and Collaboration Activities

  • The purpose of this study was to explore how designers use software-based design tools for ideation and collaboration (for two cases: with designers and with developers). We conducted logistic regression analysis and random forest analysis. Software-based design tools are more popular among product designers and affiliated with design organizations with 51 to 100 members. We identify the features that influence designers to use design tools for the ideation and collaboration, and how these usage patterns are interrelated. Interrelated usage pattern is a key consideration for location of the menu and convenience of use. The results imply that reinforcement of the design tool features per designer profile is required and that design management should be consistent with the field of design and the nature of the organization.

An Exploratory Study on Chinese Females' Social Media Self-Presentation: A Case Study of WeChat

  • Based on Goffman's dramaturgical theory and self-objectification framework, this study examined: 1) Chinese female's WeChat self-presentation, 2) the impact of WeChat usage on female self-objectification, and 3) the impact of self-objectification on WeChat self-presentation tactics. An online survey was conducted. The main findings include: 1) most of the participants chose to beautify their pictures and videos before they posted them, 2) the respondents attached higher importance to appearance-based body attributes than competence-based ones, 3) the most frequently applied self-presentation tactic was ingratiation, 4) WeChat usage was not a predictor of Chinese women's self-objectification, and, 5) along with extroversion, self-objectification had an impact on ingratiation, supplication, self-promotion, and exemplification. Meanwhile, use of the electronic curtain and audience sifting to control who can see a post and for how long demonstrated the empowerment of the users when they conduct self-presentation.

부모의 스마트폰 이용 시간과 자녀의 스마트폰 이용 시간의 관계 (The Relation between Parents and Children's Smartphone Usage Time)

  • 이 연구는 부모의 스마트폰 이용과 자녀의 스마트폰 이용의 관계를 살펴보기 위한 탐색적 연구로, 부모와 자녀의 스마트폰 이용시간이 유의미한 상관관계에 있는지 확인하고자 했다. 이를 위하여 정보통신정책연구원의 '한국미디어패널조사' 11차년도 자료를 활용하여 실증적 분석을 실시했다. 연구 결과, 부모가 스마트폰을 오래 이용하는 경우 자녀 역시 스마트폰을 오래 이용하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 정적 상관관계는 스마트폰 전체 이용 시간과 게임 이용시간에서 확인할 수 있었다. 이와 같은 연구 결과는 부모와 자녀의 스마트폰 이용 양식이 가족 이라는 단일 체계 내 구성원으로서 유사성을 보이고 있음을 시사한다. 이 연구는 개인의 미디어 이용을 가족, 미디어 이용 환경을 통해 설명하기 위한 기초 자료를 제공한다.

Effects of the Components of Mobile Shopping Apps On Shopping Flow and Continuous Usage Intention

  • Purpose: This study aims to investigate the impact of mobile shopping app components on shopping flow and the continuous usage intention of the shopping apps in the rapidly growing mobile market facilitated by advancements in the mobile environment. Research Methodology: A survey was conducted, targeting users aged 20 and older with experience in using mobile shopping apps. The responses of 456 participants were analyzed through frequency analysis, exploratory factor analysis, reliability analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, and structural equation modeling. Results: The study found that within the components of mobile shopping apps, enjoyment significantly impacted both shopping flow and the continuous usage intention of shopping apps. The diversity of product assortment had a significant effect only on shopping flow. The usefulness and ease of use influenced on the intention to continue using shopping apps. Conclusions: Based on the findings, it is recommended that shopping app operators try to identify essential components for stimulating user interest and engagement when developing or modifying apps. Additionally, a diverse range of products enhances the shopping experience and drives spontaneous purchases. Furthermore, providing an easy interface and minimizing the effort required, this experience can enhance user perception of its value and sustain consumers' continuous usage intention of the shopping app.

언택트 연구의 지식구조에 대한 탐색적 분석 (A Exploratory Analysis on Knowledge Structure of Untact Research)

  • 본 연구는 텍스트 마이닝을 이용하여 언택트 연구의 지식구조를 파악하고 연구 방향 정립을 위한 함의를 찾고자 하였다. 2019년부터 2020년 10월까지 발표된 연구 문헌 171편의 서지정보를 네트워크 분석과 토픽 모델링 기법을 사용, 분석하였다. 사용, 서비스, 소비, 영향, 기술 키워드 등의 등장 빈도가 높았고, 등장논문의 수는 코로나19, 기술, 사용, 서비스의 순서였다. 중심성과 구조적 공백 분석 결과 서비스, 사용, 소비, 기술, 온라인 등의 키워드를 중심으로 연구가 이루어졌고, 더 연구가 필요함을 확인하였다. 토픽 모델링으로 코로나19와 사회기술변화, 교육콘텐츠 필요성 및 활용, 사용자 편의 기술 및 서비스, 제품 마케팅 및 판매, 기업의 서비스 디자인, 사용과 소비 영향요인 등 6개 토픽을 추출하였고 토픽을 잇는 키워드는 기술, 서비스, 사용, 소비, 필요, 요인 등이었다. 지식구조 분석은 언택트 연구와 정책 제안에 유용한 정보를 제공할 수 있다. 본 연구의 탐색적 성격을 넘어 양적 축적과 질적 다변화가 필요하다.
