Conclusion: The development of core task and competencies for unit managers in hospitals provides a guide for the development and evaluation of programs designed to increase competence of unit managers.
In recent years, as the development of construction technology and population increase, buildings are becoming more complex and high-rise. These large scale buildings are difficult to secure fire and evacuation safety when fire occurs. So it is necessary to prepare specific measures. According to this situation, in 2011, Republic of Korea officially launched Performance-based Design in "Fire-fighting system Installation business Act". But even 6 years passed since the enforcement, there are still faces manifold problems in the course of implementation. In order to examine the necessary improvements, in this study, I conducted interviews and questionnaires with experts, investigated the improvement items under current laws. And draw up a measures for that items. The subjects of the survey were fire-fighting officer, professional engineer fire fighting, fire protection planner and professor in Daegu. As a result of twice surveys, a total of 19 items are derived. And then compared and analyzed the criteria of overseas countries, and suggested improvement directions for final items. In addition, conducted a third questionnaire survey on the proposed improvement direction to verify the appropriateness of the alternative. The results of this study will be used as basic data to deal with the general problems of performance-based design in future, and further study on each item will be needed.

Seismic performance evaluation systems require rational classification of structure systems, proper evaluation criteria, and their scoring index for synthesis. Current seismic performance systems need expert judgments based on collection of available data, approximate analysis of important items, and various scoring system. This study presents a three-step seismic performance evaluation system for building structures in Korea. Each evaluation step determines the seismic performance and the method depends on the degree of refinement of analysis. The preliminary step evaluation involves the global attributes of structures such as vertical irregularity, asymmetric plan, redundancy, and age of structures. The second step requires an elastic analysis for estimation of forces acting on critical sections and checks the strength and ductility. The final step requires inelastic capacity of structures. Each stephas own evaluation scheme with proper weighing factor dependent on the importance and consequence. This study applies the fuzzy theory to a scoring method that synthesizes the individual quantity to a representative value.
This paper focuses on self-organization of fuzzy rules for performance management of computer communication networks serving manufacturingsystems. The performance managment aims to improve the network performance in handling various types of messages by on-line adjustment of protocol parameters. The principle of fuzzy logic has been used in repressenting the knowledge of human expert on the performance management and in deriving manafement decisions. In this paper, we present an of this self-organization is domonstrated by discrete simulation of an IEEE 802.4 network.
This Study has empirically examined the relationship between the role of R & D project leaders and their team performance using data from 87 project teams in 6 R & d organizations. The results reveal that : 1) R & D project leaders play five different roles for performing their jobs-strategic plannar, team builder, gatekeeper, expert and champion : 2) all but the champion role of leaders are positively associated with project team performance unless they have too short team tenure to materialize their role efforts : 3) However, the relationship between the role of leaders and project team performance varies according to characteristics of their team and project tasks. More specifically, it becomes more important for leaders to focus on gatekeeping and championing roles as their team gats older. Team building role of leaders is more important for higher performance of relatively certain R & D projects, while for uncertain R & D projects gatekeeping role appears to be more important.
This paper presents an automated methodology for campus network design and performance analysis using the rule-based SES and DEVS modeling & simulation techniques. Proposed methodology for structural design and performance analysis can be utilized not only in the early stage of network design for selecting configurable candidate from all possible design alternatives, but also in simulation verification for generating performance data. Our approach supercedes conventional methodologies in that, first, it can support the configuration automation by utilizing the knowledge of design expert ; second, it can provide the simulation-based performance evaluation ; third, it is established on the basis of the well-formalized framework so that it can support a hierarchical and modular system design. Several simulation tests performed on a campus network example will illustrate our technique.
This paper presents a classical speed controller (CSC) for vector controlled induction motors. The controller explores the use of a Fuzzy Logic controller in a classical form. The controller combines the advantages of the classical controller and the properties of intelligent controllers. The Fuzzy Logic controller idea is used to obtain the CSC output equation, whereby the CSC equation is based on the speed error and its change. The CSC parameters are calculated based on the motor mechanical equation and a predefined system performance. Once the CSC parameters are obtained, the defined speed performance can be achieved at all operating conditions. The application of the CSC to control the speed of a vector controlled induction motor is presented. Different induction motor ratings are used. Simulation results in all possible olperating conditions are presented. Results show that the CSC behaves as an expert controller to provide the predefined speed performance in all possible operating conditions. Based on the results obtained in this paper, the CSC is expected to become the ultimate solution for high-performance drives of the next generation.
This paper focuses on self-organization of fuzzy rules for performance management of computer communication networks serving manufacturing systems. The performance management aims to improve the network performance in handling various types of messages by on-line adjustment of protocol parameters. The principle of fuzzy logic has been used in representing the knowledge of human expert on the performance management and in deriving management decisions. In this paper, we present applications of genetic algorithm, simulated annealing, and evolution strategies to find a better set of rules for various network conditions. The efficacy of this self-organization is demonstrated by discrete simulation of an IEEE 802.4 network.
It is important to understand the amount of time required to execute an emergency procedural task in a high-stress situation for managing human performance under emergencies in a nuclear power plant. However, the time to execute an emergency procedural task is highly dependent upon expert judgment due to the lack of actual data. This paper proposes an analytical method to estimate the operator's performance time (OPT) of a procedural task, which is based on a measure of the task complexity (TACOM). The proposed method for estimating an OPT is an equation that uses the TACOM as a variable, and the OPT of a procedural task can be calculated if its relevant TACOM score is available. The validity of the proposed equation is demonstrated by comparing the estimated OPTs with the observed OPTs for emergency procedural tasks in a steam generator tube rupture scenario.
