Thanks to diffusions of mobile devices and advances of network technologies, demands for mobile app have been increased dramatically. It has resulted in mobile app industries as well as mobile app authoring tools are facing a crisis over subordinate to specific OS and platform such as iOS, Android and Apple App Store. Because these particular OS and platforms are obstacles to overcome for supporting interoperability and compatibility. In this study, we have conducted expert interviews and surveys to analyze status of mobile app markets and needs for mobile app user and developer. As a result, mobile app based on HTML5 leads to interconnect various mobile devises without additional efforts. Thereby, mobile app user and developer take a positive view of HTML5. However, mobile app developers tend to have the technical path dependence, they especially in venture and small enterprises need to government support for professional manpower training.

The purpose of this study was to develop an application(app) on smoking cessation for patients with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection and evaluate its usability. A methodological study design was applied. The program contents were developed by expert panel based on the theory of planned behavior, HIV infection, and smoking cessation and usability evaluation and then the application was developed by IT experts following usability testing composed of heuristic evaluation by 3 mobile experts and users evaluation was conducted using surveys and interviews by 10 individuals with HIV infection. Descriptive statistics and contents analysis were computed to evaluated the collected data. All participants were male and their age were ranged from 40s to 60s. The average of app usability was 4.2. The participants experienced no difficulties and responded somewhat satisfaction. The results showed that the app was feasible and useful on smoking cessation for HIV patients and could be used as an valid approach.

Purpose: In Korea, the increase rate of the number of mentally ill patients increases, and the hospitalization period for severely mentally ill patients to stay in acute wards is long and the re-hospitalization rate is high. In order to improve the dignity of patients with acute mental illness and to plan a therapeutic environment for this, this study attempted to present a basic framework of spacial planning for establishing guidelines for psychiatric acute ward in general hospitals. Methods: By analyzing the acute psychiatric ward guidelines of the UK, Australia, and the US., this study analyzed the areas and required rooms of psychiatric acute ward in general hospitals, as well as the net floor area of each room, and the connection between the rooms. Results: As a result of the study, the basic framework for the ward areas and the required rooms, the net floor areas of the rooms, and the connection between the rooms were presented for the establishment of guidelines for the psychiatric acute ward in general hospitals. Implication: The results of the study will be used as a basic framework of space planning for establishing of guidelines for the psychiatric acute ward in general hospitals and will contribute to the establishment of detailed guidelines based on the space configuration through surveys and analysis of space use status, operation status, and expert interviews in Korea.

By applying the concept of microaggression (subtle and indirect form of discrimination), the aim of this study was to develop and validate the Everyday Gender Microaggression Scale (EGM). For this purpose, based on the results of literature review, surveys, and individual interviews, we developed 17 pilot items. Next, after expert content validation, we administered online survey to 180 adult women and conducted exploratory factor analysis. The result revealed 2 factors, 14 items, and this structure was reconfirmed through confirmatory factor analysis in another sample of 219 adult women. Convergent and concurrent validities were also examined via correlations with measures of sexism, depression, and life satisfaction. We discussed implications, ways to use the EGM, and suggestions for future research.

The purpose of this study is to devise the overall problems (such as, rights and obligations between users, owners, managers regarding commercial rental buildings, benefit/benefit in return, and the relevant regulations and systems) of the building maintenance system through field surveys, expert interviews, and literature reviews. In this rapidly changing society, there are a huge amount of needs for various reforms which can meet the diversity in each area, so it is greatly important to choose priority for the best improvement for efficient and economic expenses due to limited time, human resources and budgets. In this regard, the study extracted the evaluation elements from the devised problems with the viewpoint of BSC, calculated the weights through application of AHP to the extracted evaluation elements, evaluated the difference between before/after application of weights, and set the status, which makes it possible to realize the effective solutions and the reasonable expenses for all parties. By doing so, it is expected that the building maintenance system which maximizes the value and guarantees the user's convenience with smart functions of the building, will be realized in the near future.

The purpose of this study is to develop sign language interpreting content in the medical setting that facilitates Deaf people's access to medical services in situations where professional and accurate medical sign language interpreting is insufficient. To achieve the purpose of this study, we conducted a literature review, individual interviews for Deaf people, on-site requirement surveys of sign language interpreters and sign language experts, and medical and sign language expert consultations. Based on this, we developed sign language interpreting content such as main care contextual scenarios, basic medical terms, and medical term descriptions. Through this study, we developed medical sign language content considering the situation and medical importance of Deaf people to promote expertise in the medial sign language area and developed a responsive website of sign language medical dictionary that effectively and efficiently delivers information to Deaf people and sign language interpreters; we realized the need and importance of sign language translation for Deaf people to be the main bodies.

A single-person-house-holder has been increased since 2000s in South Korea, which led to high demands for small and medium-sized new houses requiring municipal architectural review committee consideration. And it has been argued recently that there are many limitations in the review system. Comprehensive expert surveys and interviews were conducted and the results were analyzed using the AHP to explore limitations in B city. The analysis with the data of 27 survey responds found that 'Related ordinance itself', 'Committee members limitation', and 'Absurdity on administrative procedure' are problematic in order of priority. It is also revealed that architects and administrative officials have different thoughts on the seriousness of those. The results of this study are expected to be used as basic data on studies for improving the system.

Recently some researchers started to discuss the fundamental limitations of geographical innovation clusters. With the rapid development of information and telecommunication technologies, a new concept of virtual innovation cluster is emerging in the advanced countries an alternative to overcome the limitations of geographical clusters. In this context, this study is designed as a pilot study to verify limitations of and issues with geographical innovation cluster through a survey and review the possible application of virtual innovation cluster as an alternative to geographical innovation cluster. Topics covered in this study include; 1) What are the limitations and/or issues with geographical clusters? 2) Can these limitations of and issues with geographical innovation cluster be overcome with virtual innovation cluster? 3) What is the government policy direction to ensure effective utilization of virtual innovation clusters? To answer these questions, this study adopted various research techniques including literature reviews, surveys, case studies, and expert interviews. Especially, a survey was conducted to diagnose the limitations of geographical innovation cluster policy and to understand the possibility of applying virtual innovation clusters. Finally, the significances and limitations of the study are discussed.

Purpose: With the rapid development of technology and individual life styles, Korea faces ever-increasing mental diseases caused by divorce, suicide, alcohol, drug addiction, and internet addiction. To reflect this, the quantitative expansion of mental health centers that make up is time. The purpose of this study is to understand the current situation of standard mental health centers by analysing Seoul's cases of mental health. First, this study presents the direction of mental health policy through specific examples about the function of public and private sectors. Second, advantages and disadvantages of the facilities will be delineated through in-depth comparisons and analyses, ultimately providing architectural quidelines for establishing future standard mental health center. Methods: Data were collected through literature research, field surveys, and expert interviews to standard mental health centers in Seoul. In the field investigation, we collected various data(architectural plan, dimension, photos) by visiting standard mental health centers. Data were analysed by content analysis. Results: The result of this study can be summarized into three points. The first one is that Mental health environment changing role of the mental health center is derived the spatial variations. The second one is that Standard Mental Health Center is divided into four sectors. Implications: It is necessary to give and architectural suggestion of mental health center in response to the proposal of the system.

The purpose of this study was to extract and evaluate the factors to improve the quality of shipping logistics platform suggested as an alternative to the stagnant shipping logistics industry. For this, we selected factors through previous research and expert interviews, and conducted surveys on carriers, forwarders, shippers, and platform operators with experience using shipping logistics platforms. As a method of analysis, quality evaluation of the shipping logistics platform was conducted using IPA (Importance-Performance Analysis). The results of this study are as follows "Competitiveness of services provided", "Connectivity with other transportation mode", "Competitiveness of freight", "Transparency of freight", and "Stability of booking space". For the shipping logistics platform to be activated in the future, priority should be given to focusing on these factors. This study has academic significance for establishing configuration function of shipping logistics platform and deriving evaluation factor. Additionally it is an industrial significance for suggesting strategies to improve users' participation in the shipping logistics platform.
