수학학습부진아 지도방법에 따른 학업성취도 향상에 대한 메타연구 (Meta analysis on the improvement of academic performance by the teaching method for underachievers of learning mathematics)

  • 시대적 흐름과 정부의 정책 시행 노력에도 불구하고 수학학습에 어려움을 호소하는 학생들이 많이 늘어나고 있다. 이를 반영하여 수학교육에서 수학학습부진아와 관련된 연구가 많이 시행되었다. 하지만 이러한 연구들의 대부분은 수학학습부진아의 원인을 밝혀내거나 교수학적 처치를 시행하고 그 효과를 알아보는 실험연구가 대부분이었다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 학위논문 및 학술지 논문 49편을 메타분석하여 수학학습부진에 대한 교수학적 처치가 학업성취도 향상에 얼마나 큰 효과크기를 갖는지 분석하였다. 이러한 분석의 결과 수학학습부진아에게 교수학적 처치는 전반적으로 중간 정도의 효과크기를 갖는다는 것을 알게 되었다. 또한 여러 중재요인을 분석하여 어떠한 환경에서 가장 큰 효과를 거둘 수 있는지에 대한 제안점도 얻을 수 있었다.

초등학교 보건 교육에서 설명식 수업과 탐구식 수업이 학습 태도 및 학업 성취도에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of Expository and Inquiry Instruction on Learning Attitude and Academic Achievement of Health Education in Elementary School)

  • This Study attempts to verify the effects of expository and inquiry instruction on learning attitude and academic achievement of health education in elementary school. For the accomplishment of the above purpose, specific problems were formulated as follows: The expository instruction is based on David Ausubel’s Advance Organizers and the inquiry instruction, Richard Suchman’s Inquiry Training in this study. To testify the above research problems, 247 students of six classes were randomly sampled from sixth graders of “Y” elementary school, located in Suwon city. One group was taught by expository instruction method and other group was taught by inquiry instruction method. The measurement tools used in this study were learning attitude test, pre-post academic achievement test, expository teaching-learning sheets and inquiry teaching-learning sheets. The experimental treatments had been lasted for eight weeks from June to October 1996. After the experimental treatments, to testify the effects of the experiment, the pre-test and post-test were administered and the results of the tests were compared by t-test. The conclusions were as follows; 1. There was a significant difference between expository and inquiry instruction(p〈.001). Inquiry instruction was more effective than expository instruction in changing learning attitude. 2. There was a significant difference between expository and inquiry instruction(p〈.001). expository instruction was more effective than Inquiry instruction in changing academic achievement. This study suggests that instructional method should be determined in accordance with the purpose of the lesson.

중학생들의 대기압에 대한 개념을 향상시키기 위한 실험방법 개선안 (New Experimental Methods to Improve on the Understandings of Atmospheric Pressure for Middle School Students)

  • 본 연구는 중학교 교과서의 대기압 단원을 학습하였을 때 학생들의 개념유형이 어떻게 변하는지 조사하고, 대체개념을 개선해나갈 수 있는 실험방법을 모색하는데 목적이 있다. 중학교 2학년을 대상으로 ‘대기압’ 에 관한 사전 개념을 질문지와 면담을 통하여 조사하고 두 집단으로 나누어 6차 교육과정의 중학교 2학년 과학교과서 중 8종의 교과서에 나오는 대기압에 관한 실험을 모두 한 집단과 교과서 외의 제안실험을 한 집단으로 구분하여 2주 동안 실시하였다. 두 집단간의 수업방식은 차별화하지 않았고 실험소재만 다르게 하였으며, 기압단원 학습 일주일 후 동일한 질문지를 사용하여 개념변화를 알아보았다. 결론적으로 학생들의 기압에 대한 대체개념이 학습 후에도 쉽게 변화되지 않았지만, 제안실험을 한 집단이 기압에 대한 개념형성이 효과적으로 나타난 점으로 보아 대체개념을 개선시킬 수 있는 다양한 학습방법과 과학적 개념획득을 위한 실험손재가 지속적으로 연구되어져야 할 필요성이 있다.

Using ICT in the HEIs in the Study of the Philological Sciences

  • The article highlights the educational potential of information and communication technologies in the study of philological disciplines in higher education institutions. The study aims to analyze the didactic potential of ICT in the study of philological disciplines, as well as to check the scientific hypothesis that the use of ICT in HEIs in the study of philological disciplines will intensify and enhance the effectiveness of the learning process. To confirm the validity of the hypothesis, experimental testing was carried out and the results are illustrated in the article. The above-mentioned goal of the study determined the use of theoretical and empirical methods: analysis, synthesis, generalization, and systematization of pedagogical and scientific-methodological literature to clarify the state of research problem development and to identify pedagogical foundations on which the process of ICT use is based, comparison and prediction; questioning and testing of educational process participants to understand the effectiveness of ICT use in their training in HEIs. The research results showed positive changes in all analyzed criteria in the experimental group, which is due to the introduction of additional ICT tools into the educational process of the mentioned group. The scientific novelty of the study consists in highlighting the main characteristics and didactic functions of ICT in the learning process of philological students; in covering the classification of ICT, ICT tools, and typology of training sessions using ICT in the study of philological disciplines. In the conclusion it is summarized that the introduction of modern ICT in the educational process allows intensifying the learning process, implementation of a variety of ideas, increases the pace of classes and material assimilation, influencing the motivation for learning, increases the amount of independent work of students.

Students' Self-Regulated Learning Strategies in Traditional and Non-Traditional Classroom: A Comparative Study

  • This study used a posttest control group design and to find out differences between students' self-regulated learning strategies in traditional and non-traditional classroom. To this end, 131 first year university students within the experimental and control groups took part in the study. While ICT-based approach was used as the main medium of instruction in the experimental group, in the control group the paper-based traditional method was used. A survey adapted from Davaanyam [Davaanyam, T. (2013). The structural relationships among Mongolian students' attitudes toward mathematics, motivational beliefs, self-regulated learning strategies, and mathematics achievement. Ph. D. Dissertation. Jeonju, Jeonbuk, Korea: Chonbuk National Unversity.] was used to gather the data. The results of the study indicated a significant difference between the control and experimental groups in regard with their self-regulated learning. That is to say, the experimental group taught through ICT tools acquired higher levels of self-regulation as compared with the control group instructed through the traditional teaching method.

Effectiveness of using Cognitive Virtual Tours based on Marzano Model to Develop the Achievement and Historical Research Skills for Secondary School Students

  • The study aimed to measure the effectiveness of using Cognitive virtual tours based on Marzano model to develop the achievement and some of historical research Skills for secondary school students. To achieve the objectives of the study, the experimental method was used and two study groups consisted of (60) students were divided into two groups, one is Control (30) students and the other is in experimental (30) students at Alsalam secondary in Ismailia Governorate. The study used several tools: The experimental processing tool of Cognitive Virtual tours based on Marzano model, Cognitive achievement test for the first unit of Secondary first grade history Course. Historical research skills. The finding of the study showed the effectiveness of using cognitive virtual tours based on Marzano model in developing the achievement and some of historical research skills for first grade secondary students which there are Statistically differences at level (0.01) between the average scores of the students in (experimental and Control) groups in post application for Cognitive achievement test. Practical application of the study can contribute to clarify how to use Cognitive virtual tours based on Marzano model in teaching history, and Draw the attention of history developers to the development of historical research skills.

기본간호에 대한 임상실습 교육이 간호학생의 임상수행능력에 미치는 효과 (Effects of Clinical Basic Nursing Practice of the Nursing Students on Clinical Competency.)

  • Purpose of this study was to identify the effects of a clinical basic nursing practice of the nursing students on the clinical competency.Method: The subjects of this study were 154 fresh nursing students(experimental group) in second semester of G college who have had the clinical basic nursing practice in a clinical setting, and 148 fresh nursing students(control group) in second semester of A college who have not had the clinical practice. Data for this study were collected from September 19 to December 5, 2001 with a questionnaire which was consisted of three measuring tools, these are Basic Nursing Skills (36 items) of Yoo(1992), Teaching / Coordinating (6 items) and Professional Attitudes (7 items) of Lee et al.(1990), and Self-esteem (10 items) of Ronsenberg(1965).Result : 1) The experimental group showed statistically significant higher clinical competency than the control group.2) Moreover, the experimental group showed the higher scores than the control group significantly in all the detail areas, those are basic nursing skill, teaching & coordinating, professional attitudes and self esteem.Conclusion : As the results of the study shown, the clinical practice on basic nursing for fresh nursing students in second semester of college shall contribute to develop their clinical competency. So Nurses graduating from college with the higher clinical competency are expected, if the clinical institutions and nursing colleges try to cooperate in this area continuously.

굽힌 동전의 확률 (Bent coin toss probability)

  • 동전을 이용하여 확률의 개념을 가르치는 일은 오랫동안 이루어져 왔으며, 통계 교과서에는 공정한 동전과 그렇지 않은 동전에 관한 많은 문제가 제시되고 있다. 그러나, 공정하지 않은 동전을 실제로 만나본 사람은 없는 것으로 알려져 있다. 본 연구에서는 확률 학습에 사용될 공정하지 않은 동전으로 가운데가 굽혀진 동전을 제시한다. 또한, 여러 가지 각도로 굽혀진 동전의 앞면이 나올 확률을 던지기 실험을 통하여 추정한다. 굽혀진 동전은 통계학 수업에서 공정하지 않은 동전을 다루는 경우에 실습용으로 사용될 수 있을 것이다.

컴퓨팅사고력에 관한 국내 연구동향 분석 (Domestic Research Trend Analysis of Computing Thinking)

  • 본 연구는 컴퓨팅사고력에 관한 국내 연구동향을 분석하고, 연구방향을 제안하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 2015년부터 2018년까지 국내 학술지에 게재된 컴퓨팅사고력 관련논문 138편을 분석하였다. 연구결과, 국내 컴퓨팅사고력에 관한 연구는 2015년 소프트웨어교육이 의무화됨에 따라 꾸준히 증가하는 추세이고, 초등학생과 대학생을 대상으로 조사연구, 개발연구, 실험연구 등의 양적연구가 대부분이었으며, 컴퓨팅사고력 관련 교육과정 및 교육프로그램, 컴퓨팅사고력 관련 변인관계 등에 대한 연구주제가 많았다. 향후 컴퓨팅사고력에 대한 연구에서는 학습자의 컴퓨팅사고력을 촉진하는 변인과 그것들의 관계를 이론적으로 규명하고 이와 관련된 교수학습방법, 수업도구 및 매체 활용, 평가방법 등의 실증적인 연구가 활성화될 필요가 있다.

  • 현재 사용되는 실험 교구는 센서를 활용하여 대부분 물리분야 실험에 적용하고 특정 실험에 잘 맞는 MBL만을 개발한 사례도 있다. 하지만, SW융합을 활용한 실험설계 단계는 없으며 교과서 속 다양한 화학실험 적용에 한계가 있고 아두이노의 경우 프로그래밍 시 학생들이 언어를 학습하고 이해하는 데 어려움이 있다. 본 논문은 기존의 microcomputer 실험의 단점 및 소프트웨어 교육의 한계를 극복하고 학습자 능동적 실험설계 과정을 포함한 SW교육 융합 과학 실험기구를 설계 및 개발하였다.
