The purpose of this study was to verify the effects of the developed exercise prescription program by utilizing PRECEDE(Predisposing, Reinforcing, and Enabling Causes in Educational Diagnosis and Evaluation} model on adult's knowledge related to health, attitudes, behaviors and serum lipoprotein values. This study employed 20 males(40-47 yrs) without any apparent physical defects, who did not experience such physical activities. They were divided into experimental groups and control groups, each group consisted of 10 subjects who performed Jogging. The experimental design of the study utilized “two-way ANOVA Design” conducted by the repeated measurement two time(pre and post-test). As the results of the data, the conclusions were as follows: 1. There were statistically significant effects of the health module exposed to the experimental groups on the higher means of knowledge score in the experimental groups than those in the control groups. 2. There were statistically significant effects of the module exposed to the experimental groups on the positive changes of their attitudes. 3. There were significant changes on the behaviors of the health by doing the health program. Therefore the developed health program formed the improved knowledge about the health and the desirable attitudes and behaviors. 4. There were statistically significant effects of the exercise prescription program exposed to the experimental groups on the reduction of the resting heart rate and systolic blood pressure. 5. There were statistically significant effects of the exercise prescription program exposed to the experimental groups on the positive changes of their plasma TC / HDL-C ratio and triglycerides.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate effect of kinesio taping on the delayed onset muscle soreness(DOMS). Methods Fourteen healthy subjects were randomly divided into two groups; experimental group(n=7) and control group(n=7). All subjets performed eccentric exercise of knee extensor until exhausted. After 24 hours experimental group was taped with kinesio tape to the quadriceps muscle and control group was not applied. To compare with the effectiveness of kinesio taping between two groups, I measured DOMS with pain(VAS) and temperature(DITI). The data were analyzed by Independence T-test. Results: The Experimental group was not significantly different the body temperature and pain than Control group at 24 hours after exercise without taping. The Experimental group was more decreased pain and temperature than Control group at 24 hours after exercise with taping. The Experimental group was more decreased pain than Control group at 48 hours after exercise. The Experimental group was more decreased pain and temperature than Control group at 72 hours after exercise. Conclusion: Experimental group more rapidly recovered temperature and more rapidly decreased pain after apply taping than control group.
Purpose: The purpose of this research is to examine types of music (relax music or preferred music that patients have chosen) can effects on anxiety, blood pressure and pulse, and whether there are differences depending on the kinds of music in order to reduce anxiety of surgical patients using spinal anesthesia. Methods: This research's design is quasi-experimental design and non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest experimental design conducted on 60 surgical patients(experimental group 1=relax music therapy group, experimental group 2=preferred music therapy group, and group 3=control group) using spinal anesthesia. The Variables were trait anxiety, state anxiety, blood pressure, and pulse. Results: 1) In the state anxiety, there was a significant difference among the experimental groups 1, group 2 and the control group. 2) There was a significant difference in systolic blood pressure among the experimental group 1, group 2, and the control group. 3) In pulse, no significant difference among the experimental group 1, group 2 and the control group was detected. Conclusion: Regardless of the types of music, music therapy is thought to be effective nursing mediation to mitigate the state anxiety of surgical patients undergoing spinal anesthesia.
The determination of a regression model is important in using statistical designs of experiments. Generally, the exact regression model is not known, and experimenters suppose that a certain model form will be fit. Then an experimental design suitable for that predetermined model form is selected and the experiment is conducted. However, the initially chosen regression model may not be correct, and this can result in undesirable statistical properties. We develop model-robust experimental designs that have stable prediction variance for a family of candidate regression models over a cuboidal region by using genetic algorithms and the desirability function method. We then compare the stability of prediction variance of model-robust experimental designs with those of the 3-level face centered cube. These model-robust experimental designs have moderately high G-efficiencies for all candidate models that the experimenter may potentially wish to fit, and outperform the cuboidal design for the second-order model. The G-efficiencies are provided for the model-robust experimental designs and the face centered cube.
Objective : This study aimed to analyze a comprehensive feature of experimental research on Insamyangyoungtang and develop a strategy that can be used for experimental studies on Insamyangyoung-tang in the future. Method : The journal search was performed using six databases : PubMed, Chinese database (China Network Knowledge Infrastructure, [CNKI]), Japan database (Japan Science and Technology Information Aggregator, Electronic, [J-STAGE]) and three Korean databases (Oriental Medicine Advanced Searching Integrated System [OASIS], Research Information Service System [RISS], and Korean Studies Information Service System [KISS]). We used limited keywords and analyzed studies by publication year, experimental models, and the subjects of biological activities. The mechanism of pharmacological activity in accordance with the therapeutic effects of Insamyangyoung-tang was noted. Results and Conclusion : A total of 43 studies (6 domestic studies and 37 foreign ones) were examined according to the inclusion criteria of the experimental study. Research on the pharmacological activities of Insamyangyoung-tang showed its therapeutic effects on the nervous and immune systems, as well as its anti-aging, anti-fatigue, and hematopoietic effects. Additional efficacy and safety assessments and experimental and clinical studies should be performed to evaluate the mechanism of Insamyangyoung-tang. The present review has provided preliminary information for further studies on Insamyangyoung-tang.
Strengthening of reinforced concrete (RC) members against shear that is one of the failure modes especially avoided by using carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) is widely used technique, which is studied at many experimental studies. However, conducting experimental studies are required more financial resources and laboratory facilities. In addition, along with financial resources, more time is needed in order to carry out comprehensive experimental studies. For these reasons, a verified finite element model that is tested with previous experimental studies can be used for reaching generalized results and investigating parameters that are not studied. For this purpose, previous experimental study results are used and "T" cross-sectioned RC beams strengthened with CFRP strips with insufficient shear strength are modeled by using ANSYS software. First, finite elements modeling of the previously tested RC beams are done, and then the computed results are compared with the experimental ones whether they are matched or not. As a result, the finite element model is verified. Later, analyses of the cases without any test results are done by using the verified model. Optimum CFRP strip spacing is determined with this verified finite element model, and compared with the experimental findings.
The purpose of study was to analyze and clarify the new facts which might help the patients with low back pain be rehabilitated by giving MRE(medical rehabilitation educations) for DLH(Daily Living Habit) based on body types. The outcome of examining hypothesis is as following. 1. The 1st hypothesis : It has been proved that the patients of experimental group which received the DLH will recovery and rehabilitate to social lives much faster than those of non-experimental group(p<.001). 2. The 2nd hypothesis : It has been proved that those of experimental group have much more changes in bodies and body types than those of non-experimental group(p<.001). 3. The 3rd hypothesis : It has been proved that those of experimental group will be better at self-care of back pain and satisfied with it much more than those of non-experimental group(p<.001). In above results, DLHE(daily living habit education) based on body types can be recommended to be a desirable education for low back patients who need a long-care. As it is more subdivided and specialized than the existing MHE, the effects of therapeutic self -care involving spinal manipulation are expected to be higher.
The purpose of this research is to verify the effect of a 3-year-old's green growth education knowledge of environmental conservation and eco-friendly attitude. Second, the result of the experimental group which participated in green growth show that the attitude of the experimental group improved an infant's environment-friendly conscience.
Purpose: This study was conducted to develop & to determine the effect of an tailored falls prevention exercise for older adults. Method: Subjects consisted of 59 older adults (experimental group : 29, control group : 30) living at nursing homes. Experimental group participated in tailored falls prevention exercise for 16 weeks(3 times a week, 50 min every session). Data were collected before the exercise, 16 weeks & 24 weeks after the beginning of exercise. Results: 1) the experimental group significantly improved the muscle strength of hip extensor & flexor, knee extensor & flexor, ankle dorsiflexor, & plantar flexor compared to the control group. 2) the experimental group significantly decreased the mean time for 10 times chair stand. 3) the experimental group significantly increased the standing time on one leg and the number of heel raise for 30 seconds compared to the control group. In addition more older adults in the experimental group completed the tandem stance & semi-tandem stance for 10 seconds than the control group. 4) The experimental group significantly decreased the mean time of 6m walk and the fall frequency compared to the control group. Conclusions: This results suggest that tailored falls prevention exercise for older adults can improve muscle strength, static & dynamic balance and decrease the fall frequency of older adults.
The purpose of this study were to examine the effects of brain gym on elementary school children's self-regulated ability and self-esteem. The subjects were 60 students in grade 4 who had been randomly assigned to experimental group and control group. Prior to the experimental treatment, pretests such as self-regulated ability test by Hong Ki-Chil and self-esteem test by Coopersmith were administered. And then experimental group was treated with brain gym, while control group was no treated. The treatment lasted for 8weeks, each day consisting of 25minutes. In order to test the effectiveness of the brain gym, posttests were administered after treatment. The results were analyzed by using t-test. The findings of this study were as follows: 1. The posttest score of experimental group showed higher than that of control group in self-regulated ability. But the difference was not statistically significant. 2. In experimental group, the posttest score showed higher than the pretest score in self-regulated ability. The difference was statistically significant. 3. The posttest score of experimental group showed higher than that of control group in self-esteem. The difference was statistically significant. 4. In experimental group, the posttest score showed higher than the pretest score in self-esteem. The difference was statistically significant, especially in academic self-esteem. The above results could be taken as the indication that the brain gym could be applied in school settings to promote the higher self-regulated ability and self-esteem.
