Relationship between Work-Life Balance, Religiosity and Employee Engagement: A Proposed Moderated Mediation Model

  • Human resource is considered as an important resource that enables organizations to achieve competitive advantage. As such, it is important to have engaged employees to drive the strategic objectives of the organization. The study focuses on variables that can promote employee engagement. Work-life balance and employee engagement have received attention in both academia and practice. Engaged employees are crucial in the achievement of the strategic objectives of organizations. Besides, the role of religious orientation in life and work has been gaining attention from management scholars. The paper attempts to fill the research gap by developing a conceptual model and propositions for empirical testing. Specifically, the study proposes that work-life balance is expected to act as a mediator in the relationship between religiosity and employee engagement. Furthermore, religiosity is included as a moderator since religious belief can strengthen the positive relationship between work-life balance and employee engagement. A systematic literature review was carried out. A framework and propositions for future studies have been developed. The proposed framework provides direction for scholars to empirically test the indirect relationship between work-life balance, religiosity and employee engagement. Empirical testing of the framework could provide insights into how work-life balance and religiosity promote employee engagement.

Evaluation of the Aging Life of the Rubber Pad in Power Window Switch

  • To evaluate the aging of a rubber pad in power window switch which is the part of a vehicle, the accelerated thermal aging test of rubber pad material is performed. Finite element analysis was performed using the nonlinear material constants of the rubber pad to calculate the operating force, and the Arrhenius relationship was derived from the aging temperature and time. The aging test was performed at 150, 180, 210, or 240 ℃ for 1 to 60 days. When the operating force of the rubber pad is changed by 10% from the initial value, the service life is expected to be 113 years, which is much longer than the life of the vehicle. This indicates that the aging life of the rubber pad is sufficiently safe and the operating force of the rubber pad during the life of the vehicle (20 years) was decreased by approximately 8.4%. By examining the correlation between the shear elastic modulus and operating force calculated from finite element analysis under each aging test condition, the changes in the operating force of the rubber pad and the shear elastic modulus showed good linear relationship. The aging life could be predicted by the change in shear elastic modulus and a process for predicting the aging life of automotive power window switch rubber pad parts is described herein.

Microsatellite makers를 이용한 마품종 간의 평가 및 유전적 다양성 (Assessment of Genetic Diversity of Horse Breeds Using Microsatellite Makers)

  • 본 연구는 마품종 간의 유전적 배경과 다양성을 분석하기 위해 제주마, 경주마, 더러브렛, 몽고마, 쿼터호스, 일본마를 기초 축으로 생물체 집단 간의 유전적 배경 및 관련성을 연구하는데 도움 되는 microsatellite marker를 사용하여 13종의 좌위에 대한 개체별 유전자형을 분석하여 대립 유전자별 빈도에 있어 품종별 차이를 보이는 microsatellite loci들을 나타냈다. 전체 개체들의 유전적 다양성을 나타내는 유전자 좌위별 품종별 기대 이형질성은 0.669-0.869를 나타냈고, 전체 집단 간의 유전자 분화정도는 0.061-0.219를 나타냈다. 이러한 대립 유전자 빈도를 근거로 하여 DISPAN 프로그램을 이용하여 집단 간 표준 유전적 거리를 도식하여 유전자 좌위별 유전적 거리는 0.137-0.414를 나타내어 마품종간의 유전적 다양성과 관련성을 고찰할 수 있게 되었다. 따라서 초위성체 유전자 표지를 이용하여 집단 내의의 혈통분석 및 분자 진화학을 연구하는데 도움이 될 것으로 사료된다.

시간제 근로 및 성별에 따른 개인의 삶의 만족도 분석 - 「서울서베이 도시정책지표조사」를 이용하여 - (The Effect of Part-time Work on the Satisfaction of Personal Life - Using Seoul Survey -)

  • 우리나라 연평균 근로시간은 OECD 최상위 수준이다. 장시간 근로는 근로자의 생산성을 저해하고 일과 가정의 양립을 방해하는 등 삶의 질을 하락시키는 요인이 된다. 최근 정부는 시간제 일자리를 증가하는 등 유연근로제를 장려하고 있지만, 양질의 시간제 일자리가 부족한 현실이다. 시간제 근로는 일과 개인의 삶을 병행할 수 있게 하지만, 동시에 열악한 근로환경과 부정적인 사회적 시선을 보유하여 개인의 삶의 만족도에 미치는 영향이 전일제 근로와는 다를 것으로 예상된다. 특히 여성의 경우 노동시장에서 성별 격차를 경험하고 있으며, 일과 가정의 병행이라는 측면에서 시간제 근로가 삶의 만족도에 미치는 영향이 남성과 다르게 나타날 수 있다. 본 연구는 2017년도 "서울서베이 도시정책지표조사" 자료를 활용하여 근무유형-성별의 교차효과가 개인의 삶의 만족도에 미치는 영향을 순서형 로지스틱 회귀모형을 통해 실증적으로 분석하였다. 분석결과에 따르면, 삶의 만족도는 전일제 여성, 전일제 남성, 시간제 여성, 시간제 남성 순으로 높은 것으로 나타났다. 또한 시간제 여성 근로자가 낮은 삶의 만족도를 가질 확률이 가장 높은 반면, 높은 삶의 만족도를 가질 확률은 가장 낮게 나타났다. 대조적으로 전일제 남성 근로자는 낮은 삶의 만족도를 가질 확률이 가장 낮은 반면, 높은 삶의 만족도를 가질 확률은 가장 높은 것으로 나타났다.

  • Recently Life Cycle Cost Analysis for civil infrastructures such as pavements, bridges, and dams has been emphasized However, so far, there are few systems available for life cycle cost analysis of bridges at design stage. Therefore, the objective of this paper is to develop a user-friendly life-cycle cost analysis system for LCC-effective optimal design decision making at design stage. The program is based on the proposed LCC model, formulation, analysis modules and systematic procedure that suit Korean construction conditions. It is expected that the developed system can be effectively utilized for more LCC-effective design of bridges. It is applied to an actual bridge design project in order to demonstrate its effectiveness and applicability.

Software Piracy in Vietnam: Analysis of Key Factors

  • This research focuses on the development and empirical validation of a model of software piracy behavior on the basis of deterrence theory, expected utility theory and the theory of reasoned action. The total of sample numbered 86 and PLS (Partial Least Square) was utilized for analysis. The test of this study revealed that punishment severity was the greatest significant factor to influence to software piracy and subjective norms was also significantly related to it. However punishment certainty and software cost do not significantly affect to software piracy.

  • In this study, we suggest a environmentally-conscious and dry cleaning process mechanism for the recycling of end-of-life CRT, and also develope a protype cleaning system to verify the faulty of the designed mechanism. This system accommodates the specifications of 14 ~ 32" end-of-life CRT. In experimental result, it is expected that the developed system improve the productivity up to 10% and decrease the loss rate of cleaning glass 3~4 times rather than the existing methods.hods.

  • This study is intended to propose a systematic and practical life cycle cost(LCC) model for the development of the reliability-based seismic safety and cost-effective performance criteria for design and upgrading of long-span PC bridges. The LCC models consist of five cost functions such as initial cost, repair/replacement cost, human losses, road user cost, and indirect losses of regional economy. The proposed model Is successfully expressed in temrs of Park-Ang damage indices and life cycle damage probability obtained from SMART-DRAIN-2DX which is an existing algorithm for nonlinear time history analysis. The proposed LCC model is successfully applied to a viaduct constructed by PSM, in Seoul. Based on the observations, the proposed systematic procedure for the formulation of LCC model may be useful for the development of the reliability-based seismic safety and cost-effective performance criteria for design and upgrading of long-span PC bridges.

  • In order to develop a method of corrosion fatigue design and estimate reliability of TMCP steel using as the material of heavy industries and plants, its corrosion susceptibilities and corrosion fatigue life considering corrosion degradation were investigated. From the results, the corrosion characteristic of TMCP steel is very susceptible in 3.5wt.% NaCl solution. Its susceptibility was linearly increased with the solution temperature increase. The potential difference due to the crack growth behavior in $25^{\circ}C$, 3.5wt.% NaCl solution is very susceptible. And it was found that stress amplitude has a linear relationship with the critical potential. Therefore, it is expected that the corrosion fatigue life of TMCP steel can be nondestructively predicted using the DCPD method.
