In heterogeneous networks (HetNets), energy saving is vital for a sustainable network development. Many techniques, such as spectrum allocation, network planning, etc., are used to improve the network energy efficiency (EE). In this paper, micro BSs utilizing cell range expansion (CRE) and spectrum allocation are considered in multi-channel heterogeneous networks to improve EE. Hotspot region is assumed to be covered by micro BSs which can ensure that the hotspot capacity is greater than the average demand of hotspot users. The expressions of network energy efficiency are derived under shared, orthogonal and hybrid subchannel allocation schemes, respectively. Particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm is used to solve the optimal ratio of subchannel allocation in orthogonal and hybrid schemes. Based on the results of the optimal analysis, we propose three service control strategies on the basis of large-scale user behaviors, i.e., adjust micro cell rang expansion (AmCRE), adjust micro BSs density (AmBD) and adjust micro BSs transmit power (AmBTP). Both theoretical and simulation results show that using shared subchannel allocation scheme in AmBD strategies can obtain maximal EE with a very small area ratio. Using orthogonal subchannel allocation scheme in AmCRE strategies can obtain maximal EE when area ratio is larger. Using hybrid subchannel allocation scheme in AmCRE strategies can obtain maximal EE when area ratio is large enough. No matter which service control strategy is used, orthogonal spectrum scheme can obtain the maximal hotspot user rates.
A theoretical equation, from which we can get a suitable ratio of bentonite at bentonite-mixed soil, was derived for desigri of the impermeable condition. Bentonite is a soil with great expansion property and it has the permeability lower than $1\times10^{-7}cm/sec$ in spite of its maximum expansion state. Accordingly if the void of soil is filled with the liquid of bentonite, water will flow only through the veid of bentonite liquid. And the permeability of bentonite-mixed soil will always satisfy the condition as impermeable zone. However, because it is very difficult to mix uniformly bentonite with soil, it is thought that the actual mixing ratio fur the impermeable zone will be grater than that by theoretical equation. Permeability tests were performed to check the equation and a modified equation was suggested from the experimental results.
This study was performed to calculate the swirl ratio of a diesel engine intake port by a 1D computer simulation under actual engine operating conditions. The swirl ratio of the intake port was simulated according to the change of the engine speed during the operation of the motoring without fuel injection. The swirl ratio of the intake port was simulated according to changes in the crank angle during the four-cycle operation of intake, compression, expansion and exhaust. The swirl ratio represented by the three regions of the piston, center and squish was simulated. Among the three regions, the piston-region swirl ratio is important for effective air-fuel mixing in the engine cylinder. In particular, it was confirmed during the simulation that the piston swirl ratio before and after the compression top dead center (TDC) point when fuel is injected in the DI diesel engine can have a significant effect on the mixing of air and fuel. It was desirable to set the average piston swirl ratio over a crank angle section before and after compression TDC as the representative swirl ratio of the cylinder head intake port according to the change of the engine speed.
Many studies of heat transfer on the swirling flow or unswirled flow in a abrupt pipe expansion are widely carried out. The mechanism is not fully found evidently due to the instabilities of flow in a sudden change of the shape and appearance of turbulent shear layers in a recirculation region and secondary vortex near the corner. The purpose of this study is to obtain data through an experimental study of the swirling flow and heat transfer downstream of an abrupt expansion in a circular pipe with uniform heat flux. Experiments were carried out for the turbulent flow nd heat transfer downstream of an abrupt circular pipe expansion. The uniform heat flux condition was imposed to the downstream of the abrupt expansion by using an electrically heated pipe. Experimental data are presented for local heat transfer rates and local axial velocities in the tube downstream of an abrupt 3:1 & 2:1 expansion. Air was used as the working fluid in the upstream tube, the Reynolds number was varied from 60, 00 to 120, 000 and the swirl number range (based on the swirl chamber geometry, i.e. L/d ratio) in which the experiments were conducted were L/d=0, 8 and 16. Axial velocity increased rapidly at r/R=0.35 in the abrupt concentric expansion turbulent flow through the test tube in unswirled flow. It showed that with increasing axial distance the highest axial velocities move toward the tube wall in the case of the swirling flow abrupt expansion. A uniform wall heat flux boundary condition was employed, which resulted in wall-to-bulk temperatures ranging from 24.deg. C to 71.deg. C. In swirling flow, the wall temperature showed a greater increase at L/d=16 than any other L/d. The bulk temperature showed a minimum value at the pipe inlet, it also exhibited a linear increase with axial distance along the pipe. As swirl intensity increased, the location of peak Nu numbers was observed to shift from 4 to 1 step heights downstream of the expansion. This upstream movement of the maximum Nusselt number was accompanied by an increase in its magnitude from 2.2 to 8.8 times larger than fully developed tube flow values.

This paper presents a wideband technique of impedance and axial-ratio bandwidth which uses the stacked planar array structure through optimum design of sub-polarization generating sections and parasitic patch. So, the effect of the dual-resonance characteristic can contribute to the bandwidth expansion of single fed planar array antenna using circular polarization which doesn\`t hire previous bandwidth expansion technique. The antenna can be used as a dual-band antenna by adjusting the resonance frequencies as well, and then the antenna is designed and fabricated in the frequency band of domestic satellite-TV service. This antenna has the performance of 9.7 % impedance bandwidth and 24 dBi of antenna gain. And it has also 2.8 % and 1.4 % of 3 dB Axial-ratio bandwidth at 11.4 GHz and 11.8 GHz respectively.

The objective of this work is to develop the capability to analyze accurately the mixed-mode propagation of a crack in composite structures with elastic orthotropic material stiffness properties and anisotropic material strength characteristics. In order to develop the capability to fully analyze fracture growth and failure in anisotropic structures, we examined the fundamental problem of mixed mode fracture by carrying out the analysis on orthotropic materials with an inclined crack subject to biaxial loading. Our goal here is to include an additional term in the asymptotic expansion of the crack tip stress field and to show that the direction of crack initiation can be significantly affected by that term. We employ the normal stress ratio theory to predict the direction of crack extension. It is shown that the angle of crack extension can be altered by horizontal loads and the use of second order term in the series expansion is important f3r the accurate determination of crack growth direction.

The characteristics of blood flow and the interaction between the blood vessel and blood flow play important roles in plaque cap rupture and the growth of atherosclerosis which may lead directly to a heart attack or a stroke. In this study, carotid arteries with different stenoses have been numerically simulated to investigate the wall shear stress(WSS) and the elastic motion of the vessel. Blood flow has been treated as physiological, laminar and incompressible flow. To model the shear thining behavior of the blood, the Carreau-Yasuda model has been employed but the viscoelasticity of blood has not been considered. The results show that the WSS of $severe(75\%)$ stenosis is much higher than those of $25\%\;and\;50\%$ stenosis in the region of stenosis. With the increase in the stenosis thickness, the expansion ratio of the center of the stenosis decreases while the expansion ratio of the upstream region of the stenosis increases.
The valve used in nuclear power plant must be qualified but the limitation of the test facility leads to use the numerical analysis. The flow coefficient is calculated with the consideration of the pressure, velocity and geometry. And the flow coefficient is the important physical property which is prepared using experiment or analysis by valve manufacturer. In this study, the analysis model was made according to ISA 75.02.01 and the mass flow rate and pressure drop ratio was calculated. The model of the expansion factor was applied to the simulation result and the pressure drop ratio at the start of the choked flow in the valve was found. With the simulation result, the consideration was performed that the expansion factor is the important physical property to the system engineer in addition to the flow coefficient.

The Study of steady performance of orifice must be precede before study of dynamic characteristics with configuration change. So, orifice performance with change of diameter ratio, thickness, expansion and angle predicted by CFD. The analysis algorithm is SIMPLEC. And PRESTO, QUICK scheme is used for dicretization. The $k-{\omega}$ STS turbulent model also used. The discharge coefficient is rapidly increased with increasing of diameter ratio and slowly decreased after rapidly increasing with orifice thicken. In case of expansion angle, the discharge coefficient is the smallest at $45^{\circ}$ of the angle.
An ionization front (IF) surrounding an H II region is a sharp interface through which a cold neutral gas makes transition to a warm ionized phase by absorbing UV photons from central massive stars. We investigate the structure and instability of a plane-parallel D-type IF threaded by magnetic fields parallel to the front. We find that magnetic fields increase the maximum propagation speed of the IFs, while reducing the expansion factor, defined as the density ratio of neutral to ionized phases. IFs become unstable to distortional perturbations due to gas expansion across the fronts, exactly analogous to the Darrieus-Landau instability of ablation fronts in terrestrial flames. The growth rate of the IF instability is proportional linearly to the perturbation wavenumber as well as the upstream flow speed. The IF instability is stabilized by gas compressibility and becomes completely quenched when the front is D-critical. The instability is also stabilized by magnetic pressure when the perturbations propagate in the direction perpendicular to the fields. When the perturbations propagate in the direction parallel to the fields, on the other hand, it is magnetic tension that reduces the growth rate, completely suppressing the instability when ${\beta}$ < 1.5, with ${\beta}$ denoting the square of the ratio of the sound speed to the Alfven speed in the pre-IF region. When the front experiences an acceleration, the IF instability cooperates with the Rayleigh-Taylor instability to make the front more unstable. We discuss potential effects of IF instability on the evolution and dynamics of IFs in the interstellar medium.
