  • Recently, social network service is developing rapidly as technology changes with new mobile dimensions and features creating positive opportunities and benefits to all users and companies. Social network services are allowing companies to expand their businesses and brands by utilizing it as a marketing tool to reach customers. A Study on the Application of Glow Line Marking Technology Development for Reducing Traffic Accidents at Nighttime (도로의 야간 교통사고 저감을 위한 야광형 포장노면표시 기술개발의 적용성 연구)

  • PURPOSES : This study suggests the application of glow line marking technology for reducing traffic accidents at nighttime. METHODS : In this study, using a statistical analysis, we analyzed the characteristics of traffic accidents occurring at nighttime. Next, the strength, weakness, opportunity, and threat (SWOT) factors were derived based on a current-status analysis of glow line marking technology and road environments. An SO strategy, ST strategy, WO strategy, and WT strategy were established in accordance with the four SWOT factors. RESULTS : This study suggests that the following strategies should be promoted to apply glow line marking technology to a road environment: 1) an activation strategy for the technological development of glow line markings for a new paradigm in reducing traffic accidents, 2) a benefit enhancement strategy applying glow line marking technology in places where nighttime traffic accidents frequently occur, 3) a strategy for the expansion of glow line marking by replacing streetlights, and 4) a strategy for enhancing road applications through the development of various line marking methods in consideration of both performance and costs. CONCLUSIONS : The application of glow line markings in a road environment can contribute to a reduction of traffic accidents at nighttime, and aid energy savings from the replacement of streetlights.

A Basic Study on Strategy Development for Improving the Management of Multicultural Family Support Centers (다문화가족지원센터 운영활성화를 위한 전략개발 기초연구)

  • This paper proposes strategy development to improve the management of Multicultural Family Support Centers by analyzing four Multicultural Family Support Centers (MFSCs) in Chungcheongnam-do. The research was conducted from September 2012 to January 2013. Future directions for the four MFSCs are established based on a SWOT analysis on both the internal and external environments of the centers. Various strategic directions for the four MFSCs were identified based on these analyses. For center A (urban type, college contract type), the strategic directions included the specialization strategy, systemization strategy, empowerment strategy, standardization strategy, and achievement maximization strategy. The strategic directions for center B (urban-rural combined type, social welfare center contract type) included the improvement of multiculture awareness, specialization strategy, human resource development strategy, and networking strategy. For center C (farming and fishing community type, direct management type by local authority), the strategic directions included the specialization strategy, activation strategy, qualification strategy, and networking strategy. For center D (farming and fishing community type, social welfare center contract type), the strategic directions included the specialization strategy, business standardization strategy, human resource development strategy, and network expansion strategy. The suggested management strategy development for the four MFSCs can provide implications for the management of MFSCs in other areas in Korea.

  • Purpose - Retail companies are turning from one type of retailer to multiple business categories through various reasons, such as taking advantage of existed types of retailers' channel distribution, information and know-how, and entering into new types of retailers. However, there is few research conducted about multiple type of retailers. Research design, data, and methodology - In this research, the references, data and new stores on E-mart will be collected. The dissertation, annual report, statistical data, land-book of E-mart will be also collected to confirm whether E-mart has made any acquisition towards another company. Results - There is a tendency to new stores expansion, store enlargement and prolonging the opening preparation of new stores, based on the core of new stores expansion of E-mart as a general supermarket type of retailers. Based on general supermarket type of retailers, E-mart begins to diversify its retail company's type of retailers. Conclusions - As a general supermarket which is the most important type of retailers, E-mart is expanding into SSM type of retailers to seek new power of growth while slowdown growth is shown in general supermarket type of retailers. The expansion into SSM type of retailers would be a wise option as a retail company, E-mart is able to keep growing in the future.

  • The Fashion Distribution Business (FDB) is thriving to such an extent that the current period is called "The Era of Fashion." This FDB shows tendencies towards specialzation, globalization and expansion. The domestic FDB has been rapidly globalizing, and thus it is time for us to recognize that the fashion business has grown beyond its former role as a production-oriented retail business to include multiple new roles. This strategy to plant Store Identity on customers is just a Visual Merchandising (VMD) Strategy. That is, a strategy to visualize the Product Planning, which can be called a Complex Visual Expressing Technical System that classifies and arranges products in order to be easily seen, chosen, and bought through exhibition and arrangement. My aim is to break away from the conept that has been focused only on display division and to present product scheme correctly and to establish a VMD Plan which can also contribute to sales promotion by providing infirmation and arranging Store Display efficiently for customers.   • This research investigates the export strategy for pioneering a new market of Advanced Pilot Trainer T-50, a business unit of KAI company, and increasing its market share. The export strategy is proposed based on the Corporate Marketing Model along with the market oriented concept. Specific sales strategies are extracted in consideration of product analysis, market analysis, and integration of product and target market. Therefore, six countries in Africa are selected as the primary target markets on account of their market potentials. In addition, T-50 is repositioned to 'T-50Af' as 'high price competitive and multi-role trainer.' The business implications include the expansion of the market in Africa and the pursuit of the consistent development and growth of T-50.

  • Among Japan's agriculture, forestry, fisheries and regional revitalization plans established in June 2018, the key matters related to aquaculture include ① a new perspective on the sponge use system for the development of aquaculture and coastal fisheries, ② a comprehensive strategy for growth and industrialization of aquaculture, and ③ expansion of suitable aquaculture areas. There are four countermeasures including ④ research and development trends. In accordance with these key points, the Japanese government established a comprehensive strategy for aquaculture growth and industrialization by strategically setting aquaculture items in consideration of domestic and international demand, establishing a comprehensive strategy from production to sales and export, and then working in earnest to promote the aquaculture industry. This study analyzes environmental changes surrounding aquaculture in Japan and trends in fish farming and marine products, and summarizes the key points of the June 2018 Agriculture, Forestry, Fisheries and Regional Revitalization Plan to suggest measures that can be utilized in Korea's aquaculture policy.

  • This paper's objective is to provide insights about the problems and expansion strategies of electronic trade. Korean small and medium-sized firms have adopted the Internet since the end of 1990s in order to reshape their competitiveness, and it is now being utilized as a major export marketing instrument to develop new customers, save export transaction costs ad facilitate new work processes. However, at present, the use of the internet in the field of trading is limited to the collection of market information, owing to legal, technical and institutional restraints between countries. In addition to that, because firms have the difficulties in making the trade contract through the e-trade system, the negative recognition on its' utility has been spreaded gradually between companies. This is one of the barriers to block the expansion of e-Trade between Korean firms. Therefore, this paper points out the problems of e-trade in the environmental, institutional and strategic view and provides many considerations for establishing the expansion strategy of e-trade by the Korean government and trade supporting institutions.

  • While the WWW offers an incredibly rich base of information, organized as a hypertext, it does not provide a uniform and efficient way to retrieve specific information. When one tries to find information entering several query terms into a search engine, the highly-ranked pages in the result usually contain many irrelevant or useless pages. The problem is that single-term queries do not contain sufficient information to specify exactly which web pages are needed by the user. The purpose of this paper is to describe the employment of association rules in data mining for developing networks and computing associative coefficient among the terms. And this paper shows how the dynamic query expansion and/or reduction can be performed in information retrieval.

  • This paper proposes a method to solve expansion problem for a transmission network, given future generation and load strategy, and alternative types of lines available, subject to load, reliability and right of way constraints, the problem is formulated as a series of zero one integer programs which are solved by an efficient branch and bound algorithm A study test result on the 63-buses test system shows that the proposed method is practical and efficiently applicable to the transmission expansion planning.
