마이크로터빈의 열회수 성능시험 (Test of Heat Recovery Performance of a Microturbine)

  • Recently, microturbines have received attention as a small-scale distributed power generator. Since the exhaust gas carries all of the heat release, the microturbine CHP (combined heat and power) system is relatively compact and easy to maintain. Generating hot water or steam is usual method of heat recovery from the microturbine. In this work, a heat recovery unit producing hot water was installed at the exhaust side of a 30 kW class microturbine and its performance characteristics following microturbine power variation was investigated. Heat recovery performance has been compared for different operating conditions such as constant hot water temperature and constant water flow rate. In particular, the influence of water flow rate and hot water temperature on the recovered heat was analyzed.

  • 국제기구 및 각국의 정부는 인간의 건강 및 환경을 보호하기 위해 선박의 배기가스 규제를 엄격히 적용하고 있다. 함정은 이러한 배기가스 규제 적용 대상에서 제외되고 있지만 최근 미국, 영국 등 일부 선진국에서는 함정으로 야기되는 대기환경오염을 방지하기 위해 전기추진체계 시스템을 도입하는 등 다양한 개선 방법을 적용하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 함정용 디젤엔진의 매연 발생 문제 해결을 위해 노즐 직경을 축소 변화시키고 분사압력을 증가시켜 배기가스 발생량 측정과 오염물질조사 방법론을 이용해 저부하시 매연 문제가 개선된 것을 확인하였다. 동시에 그 영향을 유량방정식과 함정시험평가서를 통해 노즐 직경 축소 결과 연료 소비량이 감소되는 것을 확인하였다.

박용 디젤기관의 $NO_x$ 및 매연 배출물에 미치는 스크러버형 EGR 시스템 재순환배기의 영향에 관한 연구 (A Study on Effects of Recirculated Exhaust Gas upon $NO_x$ and Soot Emissions of a Marine Diesel Engine with Scrubber EGR System)

  • The effects of recirculated exhaust gas on the characteristics of ;$NO_x$ and soot emissions under a wide range of engine load have been experimentally investigated by a water-cooled, four-cylinder, indirect injection, four cycle and marine diesel engine operating at two kinds of engine speeds. The purpose of the present study is to develop the EGR control system for reducing $NO_x$ and soot emissions simultaneously in diesel engines. The EGR system is used to reduce NOx emissions, and a novel diesel soot removal apparatus with a cylinder-type scrubber for the experiment system which has 6 water injectors(A water injector is made up 144 nozzles with 1.0mm in diameter) is specially designed and manufactured to reduce the soot contents in the recirculated exhaust gas to intake system of the engines. The intake oxygen concentration obtained by the intake air flow and the oxygen concentration in the recirculated exhaust gas, and the exhaust oxygen concentration measured in exhaust manifold are used to analyse and discuss the influences of EGR on NOx and soot emissions. The experiments are performed at the fixed fuel injection timing of $15.3^{\circ}$ BTDC regardless of experimental conditions. It is found that $NO_x$ emissions decrease and soot emissions increase owing to the drop of intake oxygen concentration and exhaust oxygen concentration as EGR rate rises. Also, one can conclude that it is sufficient for the scrubber EGR system with a novel diesel soot removal apparatus to reduce $NO_x$ emissions, but not to reduce soot emissions.

EXHAUST GAS HEAT RECOVERY SYSTEM FOR PLANT BED HEATING IN GREENHOUSE PRODUCTION

  • Hot air heater with light oil combustion is the most common heater for greenhouse heating in the winter season in Korea. However, since the heat efficiency of the heater is about 80%, considerable unused heat in the form of exhaust gas heat discharges to atmosphere. In order to capture this exhaust gas heat a heat recovery system for plant bed heating in the greenhouse was built and tested in the hot air heating system of greenhouse. The system consists of a heat exchanger made of copper pipes, ${\phi}\;12.7{\times}0.7t$ located inside the rectangular column of $330{\times}330{\times}900mm$, a water circulation pump, circulation plastic pipe and a water tame The total heat exchanger area is $1.5m^2$, calculated considering the heat exchange amount between flue gas and water circulated in the copper pipes. The system was attached to the exhaust gas path. The heat recovery system was designed as to even recapture the latent heat of flue gas when exposing to low temperature water in the heat exchanger. According to performance test it can recover 45,200 to 51,000kJ/hr depending on the water circulation rates of 330 to $690{\ell}$/hr from the waste heat discharged. The exhaust gas temperature left from the heat exchanger dropped to $100^{circ}C$ from $270^{circ}C$ by the heat exchange between the water and the flue gas, while water gained the difference and temperature increased to $38^{circ}C$ from $21^{circ}C$ at the water flow rate of $690{\ell}$/hr. And, the condensed water amount varies from 16 to $43m{\ell}$ at the same water circulation rates. This condensing heat recovery system can reduce boiler fuel consumption amount in a day by 34% according to the feasibility study of the actual mimitomato greenhouse. No combustion load was observed in the hot air heater.

  • This paper presents a description and evaluation of a detailed mathematical simulation for the steady and unsteady flow in a radial inflow-turbine which is most frequently used, at present, for exhaust gas turbochargers of internal combustion engines. As a method of computation, the two-step differential Lax-Wendroff method and the characteristic method were used. The turbine characteristics, the mass flow rate, the power output and fluid movements at the turbine scroll inlet were compared with the experiment data. The results of the simulation were in good agreement with experimental values under both steady and unsteady flow conditions.

$Annubar^{(R)}$형 차압유량계 형상 개선에 따른 유량 특성 연구 (A Study on Flow Rate Characteristics of a $Annubar^{(R)}$ Type Differential Pressure Flow Meter with a Shape Improvement)

  • The inner structure of the triangular separate bar (TSB) was improved to enhance the productivity of the TSB flow meter by simplifying the machining process for making the flow meter. The cross section of upstream and downstream pressure chamber in the TSB was changed from triangle to circle, which make it possible to substitute the wire cutting by drilling in the process of machining the pressure chamber. The flow rate characteristics of the flow meters was calibrated with a laminar flow meter. Six kinds of flow meters whose diameters of pressure tap for measuring pressure of both upsteam and downstream pressure chamber were different one another were made. The effects of the pressure tap diameter on the flow rate characteristics of the TSB flow meter was little. The mass flow rate characteristics of the flow meters with increasing a non-dimensional parameter which includes the gas temperature, exhaust gas pressure and differential pressure at the flow meters and atmospheric pressure shows nearly linear relationship with a correlation coefficient of R=0.998.

  • 내연기관은 연료로 공급되는 에너지의 30~40%만을 동력에너지로 전환되고 나머지 60~70%는 손실에너지와 배기에너지로 버려지게 된다. 따라서 배기에너지를 회수한다면 기계적 에너지 또는 전기적 에너지로 변환시킬 수 있다. 열전발전기는 배기관에 위치하여 고온 열원과 저온 열원 사이에 온도차를 이용한다. 두 열원 사이에 온도차를 이용하여 전기적 에너지를 발생시켜 동력 에너지 등 여러 에너지로 변환 가능하다. 이 논문에서는 이러한 열전발전기의 특성을 예측하기 위해 수치해석을 통하여 여러 조건에 따른 열전발전기 특성을 예측하였다. 수치해석 결과 고온 열원과 저온 열원 간의 온도 차이가 클수록 발생하는 전력 역시 증가하는 것을 알 수 있었다.

물유동층 열교환기의 열회수성능 연구 (A Study on the Heat Recovery Performance of Water Fludized-Bed Heat Exchanger)

  • This paper presents the heat recovery performance of water fluidized-bed heat exchanger. Temperature and humidity ratio of waste gas are considered as important parameters in this study. Therefore, the heat recovery rate through water fluidized-bed heat exchanger for exhaust gases with various temperatures and humidity ratios can be estimated from the results of this study. Mass flow ratio (the ratio of mass flow rate of water to that of gas) and temperature of inlet water are also considered as important operating variables. Increase of heat recovery rate can be obtained through either high mass flow ratio or low temperature of inlet water with resultant low recovered temperature. The heat recovery performance with the mass flow ratio of about up to 10 has been investigated. The effect of number of stages of water fluidized-bed on the heat recovery performance has been also examined in this study.

  • This study was conducted to develop an efficient high performance range hood and exhaust system for quickly discharging flue gas, smoke, and odor generated when food is cooked in the kitchen, and the following results were obtained. Reverse current rate of 1.53 m/s of the range exhaust system was improved to achieve the inlet speed of 0.3 m/s or less. An efficient range system was constructed by improving the hood exhaust flow by 5.6 m/s at the existing 4.5 m/s.

입자상물질과 Ash양이 디젤매연여과장치 내의 배압 및 유동균일도에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Particulate Matter and Ash Amount on Pressure Drop and Flow Uniformity of Diesel Particulate Filter Reduction System)

  • 최근 미세먼지 증가로 인하여 디젤엔진의 배출 규제가 강화됨에 따라 디젤 매연여과장치에 관심이 급증하게 되었으며, 특히 디젤 배기가스 후처리 장치의 고효율화에 대한 기술개발이 더욱 요구되고 있다. 이에 대한 일환으로서 디젤매연여과장치(diesel particulate filter, DPF) 내 배기가스의 유동 균일도를 향상시키고 배압을 낮추어서 배기가스처리 효율을 높이는 연구가 많이 되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 ANSYS Fluent를 이용하여 직경 12"의 DPF와 디젤산화촉매(diesel oxidation catalyst, DOC)를 장착한 디젤 매연여과장치에서의 배기가스의 유속과 온도, DPF IO ratio, Ash와 PM양에 따른 배압에 미치는 영향을 시뮬레이션 하여 배압을 낮추는 최적화 연구를 하였다. 결과로서 배기가스의 온도와 유속이 낮을수록 배압이 낮아졌으며, PM양이 Ash양보다 배압에 더 큰 영향을 주는 것으로 나타냈다. 또한 비대칭 DPF가 대칭 DPF에 비해 배압이 더 낮게 나타냈으나, 유동 균일도의 경우는 다양한 변수에 관계없이 일정하게 나타냈다. european stationary cycle (ESC), european transient cycle (ETC) 조건에서 PM의 정화효율은 비대칭, 대칭 DPF 관계없이 유사하나, particle number (PN)의 정화효율에서는 비대칭 DPF가 대칭 DPF에 비해 높게 나타냈다.
