  • IrMn pinned spin valve (SV) films with stacks of Ta/NiFe/IrMn/CoFe/Cu/CoFe/NiFe/Ta were prepared by dc sputtering onto thermally oxidized Si (111) substrates at room temperature under a magnetic field of about 100 Oe. The annealing cycle number and temperature dependence of exchange coupling field (H$_{ex}$), magnetoresistance (MR) ratio, and coercivity (H$_{c}$) were investigated. By optimizing the process of deposition and post thermal annealing condition, we obtained the IrMn based SV films with MR ratio of 3.6%, H$_{ex}$ of 1180 Oe for the pinned layer. The H$_{ex}$ is stabilized after the second annealing cycle and it is thought that this SV reveals high thermal stability. The H$_{ex}$ maintained its strength of 600 Oe in operation up to 24$0^{\circ}C$ and decreased monotonically to zero at 27$0^{\circ}C$.

  • Exchange anisotropy between IrMn antiferromagnetic layer and NiFe ferromagnetic layer has been studied in IrxMn(100-x)/NiFe/Buffr/Si(100) films deposited by D. C. magnetron sputtering method. Among Zr, Ta, and Cu used as buffer layer, Zr and Ta enhanced the fcc(111) texture of NiFe and IeMn layer, but Cu did not affect microstructure of those layer. Strong fcc(111) texture of IrMn layer was confirmed to be the origin of exchange anisotropy of IrMn. Ir composition control in IrMn layer showed that {{{{ gamma -phase}}}} IrMn is stabilized between 10 and 30 at % Ir, an 21 at. % Ir in IrMn layer was optimum composition that showed maximum exchange anisotropy field. above 200 ${\AA}$ thickness of IrMn, antiferromagnetic property is stabilzed to show saturated exchange anisotropy field. Based pressure was confirmed to be critical requisite in IrMn-based spin-valve GMR system.

  • The switching characteristics and the magnetization-flop behavior in magnetic tunnel junctions exchange biased by synthetic antiferromagnets (SyAFs) are investigated by using a computer simulations based on a single-domain multilayer model. The bias field acting on the free layer is found to be sensitive to the thickness of neighboring layers, and the thickness dependence of the bias field is greater at smaller cell dimensions due to larger magnetostatic interactions. The resistance to magnetization flop increases with decreasing cell size due to increased shape anisotropy. When the cell dimensions are small and the synthetic antiferromagnet is weakly, or not pinned, the magnetization directions of the two layers sandwiching the insulating layer are aligned antiparallel due to a strong magnetostatic interaction, resulting in an abnormal magneto resistance (MR) change from the high-MR state to zero, irrespective of the direction of the free-layer switching. The threshold field for magnetization-flop is found to increase linearly with increasing antiferromagnetic exchange coupling in the synthetic antiferromagnet. Irrespective of the magnetic parameters and cell sizes, magnetization flop does not exist near zero applied field, indicating that magnetization flop is driven by the Zeeman energy.

  • In this study, the performance and distribution of fluid concentration, pressure, and current density of a proton exchange membrane fuel cell was investigated. In this paper, the two different types of flow field design were compared, singel channel and 5-channels. As a result, the 5-channels of flow field showed the better performance than that of single chanel. Especially, the single channel showed better performance in terms of mass transfer loss area.

  • Surface wind field over an ocean plays a very important role not only to generate wind-driven current, but also to control heat exchange between ocean and atmosphere. However, the surface wind-field used for the ocean circulation and heat exchange is usually estimated by indirect methods because of lack of observed wind data and incomplete spatial coverage. • The effect of H$_2$ content in Ar sputtering gas on exchange coupling field(H$_{ex}$) for NiFe/FeMn interface was studied. When NiFe layer of Si(100)/Ta(50 $\AA$)/NiFe(60 $\AA$)/FeMn(250 $\AA$)Ta(50 $\AA$) was deposited at 8% H$_2$ in sputtering gas, the maximum exchange coupling field(H$_{ex}$) and minimum coercivity(H$_{c}$) were obtained. When Si(100)/Ta(50 $\AA$)/NiFe(60 $\AA$)/FeMn(250 $\AA$)/NiFe(70 $\AA$)/Ta(50 $\AA$) was deposited at 5% H$_2$ in sputtering gas, the maximum exchange coupling field(H$_{ex}$) of 148 Oe was obtained. The (111) preferred orientation and grain size of underlayer NiFe were increased and the internal stress was reduced by H$_2$ in sputtering gas. And the (111) preferred orientation and grain size of FeMn layer were also increased.d.ased.

  • In the Korean domestic construction field, there are a lot of problems related to construction information exchange and sharing owing to the absence of construction drawing information exchange standard. To remedy the aforementioned inefficiency effectively, it is necessary to apply the STEP standard which is known as an international standard for achieving the establishment of Construction CALS. This study focus on suggesting a methodology to activate the STEP based construction drawing information exchange standard to the current construction drawing information exchanging and sharing practice. In this paper, the domestic and foreign standardization projects related to the construction drawing information have been investigated and analyzed. In addition, a methodology of applying and activating the STEP standard has been suggested. Finally, a verification and certification methodology for applying the CALS/EC construction drawing information exchange standard(STEP) have been suggested.

  • We report a positive exchange bias (HE) in thinmultilayered filmscontaining nano-oxide layer. The positive HE, obtained for our system results from an antiferromagnetic coupling between the ferromagnetic (FM) CoFe and the antiferromagnetic (AFM) CoO layers, which spontaneously form on top of the nano-oxide layer (NOL). The shift in the hysteresis loop along the direction of thecooling field and the change in the sign of exchange bias are evidence of antiferromagnetic interfacial exchange coupling between the CoO and CoFe layers. Our calculation indicates that uncompensated oxygen moments in the NOL results in antiferromagnetic interfacial exchange coupling between the CoO and CoFe layers. One of the interesting features observed with our system is that it displays the positive HE even above the bulk Neel temperature (TN) of CoO. Although the positive HEsystem has a different AFM/FM interfacial spin structure compare to that of the negative HE one, the results of the angular dependence measurements show that the magnetization reversal mechanism can be considered within the framework of the coherent rotation model.

  • The magnetic domain walls at the edges of a large patterned and exchanged-biased NiO(10-60 nm)/NiFe(10 nm) bilayers and their motions with applied field were investigated by magnetic force microscopy. Three kinds of domain walls, namely, head-to-head zig-zag and tail-to-tail zig-zag Bloch walls and straight Neel walls were found at specific edges of the unidirectional biased NiO(30 nm)/NiFe(10 nm) bilayer having the exchange biasing field (H$\sub$ex/) of 21 Oe. No walls were observed for the strong exchange-biased bilayer (60 nm NiO, H$\sub$ex/ = 75 Oe), while the amplitude of the zig-zag domain increased with decreasing exchange biasing. This may be explained by mutual restraint between H$\sub$ex/ and the demagnetization field of edge. We similarly investigated the magnetization reversal process, the subsequent motion of the walls and identified the pinning and nucleation sites during reversal.
