We present physical properties of $24{\mu}m$ galaxies detected by AKARI and Spitzer and their evolution between redshifts 0.4 < z < 2. Using multi-wavelength data from X-ray to radio observations in NEP Deep Field (for AKARI) and Subaru/XMM-Newton Deep Field (for Spitzer), we derive photometric redshift, stellar mass, star-formation rate (SFR), dust extinction magnitude and rest-frame luminosities/colors of the $24{\mu}m$ galaxies from photometric SED fitting. We infer the SFRs from rest-frame ultraviolet luminosity and total infrared luminosity calibrated against Herschel photometric data. For both survey fields, we obtain complete samples with stellar mass of > $10^{10}M_{\odot}$ and SFR of > $30M_{\odot}/yr$ up to z = 2. We find that specific SFRs evolves with redshift at all stellar masses in NON-power-law galaxies (non-PLGs) as star-formation dominant luminous infrared galaxies (LIRGs). The correlations between specific SFR and stellar mass in the Spitzer and AKARI galaxy samples are well consistent with trends of the main sequence galaxies. We also discuss nature of PLGs and their evolution.

Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are considered to be carriers of the unidentified infrared bands, which are ubiquitously observed in the Universe. PAHs are mainly formed around evolved carbon-rich stars and injected into interstellar space. Planetary nebulae (PNe), a late stage of low- and intermediate stellar mass evolution, are suitable objects to investigate the formation and evolution of PAHs. The shortest PAH feature is located in $3.3{\mu}m$, which is important to examine the excitation and size distribution of PAHs. While the number of samples had been limited before, the high sensitivity of AKARI /IRC has drastically increased the number of samples. We obtained the $2-5{\mu}m$ spectra of Galactic PNe with AKARI /IRC and compiled a near-infrared spectral catalog, containing 73 PNe. We investigate the detection rate and the evolution of the PAH features. The characteristics of the catalog are illustrated and the origin of the evolution of the PAH features is discussed.
The evolution of incipient soot particles has been examined by high resolution electron microscopy (HRTEM) and elemental analyzer in ethylene-air inverse diffusion flames. Laser Induced Incandescence(LII) and laser scattering methods were introduced for examining the change of soot volume fraction and morphological properties in combustion generated soot qualitatively. Soot particles, collected by thermophoretic sampling were analyzed by using HRTEM to examine the nano structure of precursor particles. HRTEM micrographs apparently reveal a transformation of condensed phase of semitransparent tar-like material into precursor particles with relatively distinct boundary and crystalline which looks like regular layer structures. During this evolution histories C/H analysis was also performed to estimate the chemical evolution of precursor particles. The changes of C/H ratio of soot particles with respect to residence time can be divided into two parts: one is a very slowly increasing regime where tar-like materials are transformed into precursor particles (inception process) the other is an increasing region with constant rate where surface growth affects the increase of C/H ratio dominantly (surface growth region). These results provide a clear picture of a transition to mature soot from precursor materials.
Genomic data is accumulating in public database at an unprecedented rate. Although presently dominated by the sequences of metazoan, plant, parasitic, and picoeukaryotic taxa, both expressed sequence tag (EST) and complete genomes of free-living algae are also slowly appearing. This wealth of information offers the opportunity to clarify many long-standing issues in algal and plant evolution such as the contribution of the plastid endosymbiont to nuclear genome evolution using the tools of comparative genomics and multi-gene phylogenetics. A particularly powerful approach for the automated analysis of genome data from multiple taxa is termed phylogenomics. Phylogenomics is the convergence of genomics science (the study of the function and structure of genes and genomes) and molecular phylogenetics (the study of the hierarchical evolutionary relationships among organisms, their genes and genomes). The use of phylogenetics to drive comparative genome analyses has facilitated the reconstruction of the evolutionary history of genes, gene families, and organisms. Here we survey the available genome data, introduce phylogenomic pipelines, and review some initial results of phylogenomic analyses of algal genome data.

In order to understand internal dynamics of starless cores, molecular line emissions are usually observed. From profiles of the molecular lines, internal motions of starless cores have been deduced using a simple radiative transfer model such as the two-layer model (Myers et al.1996). This brings complexities arising from the chemical evolution. The motivation of this study is to follow the chemical evolution of a starless core that goes through gravitational contraction. For this purpose, we have performed hydrodynamical simulations with a marginally unstable Bonnor-Ebert sphere as an initial condition. We follow the chemical evolution of this core with changing conditions such as the chemical reaction rate at the dust surface and the strength of radiation field that penetrate into the core. At the core center, the molecules suffer from a higher degree of molecular depletion on the dust covered by ice rather than on the bare silicate dust. The stronger radiation field dissociates more molecules at the core envelope. From analysis on the line profile using the two-layer model, we found that the speed of inward motion deduced from the HCN F = 2-1 line adequately traces the true infall speed, when the dust is covered by ice and the core is exposed to the diffuse interstellar radiation field. Under different conditions, the two-layer model significantly underestimate the infall speed.
Orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) is a promising technique, which can provide high downlink capacity for the future wireless systems. The total capacity of OFDMA can be maximized by adaptively assigning subchannels to the user with the best gain for that subchannel, with power subsequently distributed by water-filling. In this paper, we propose the use of composite differential evolution (CoDE) algorithm to allocate the subchannels. The CoDE algorithm is population-based where a set of potential solutions evolves to approach a near-optimal solution for the problem under study. CoDE uses three trial vector generation strategies and three control parameter settings. It randomly combines them to generate trial vectors. In CoDE, three trial vectors are generated for each target vector unlike other differential evolution (DE) techniques where only a single trial vector is generated. Then the best one enters the next generation if it is better than its target vector. It is shown that the proposed method obtains higher sum capacities as compared to that obtained by previous works, with comparable computational complexity.

To analyze the evolution of water resources in Qiandao Lake Basin under the condition of climate change, a WEP-L distributed hydrological model was established to simulate the water cycle process in the basin during 1960-2020. The Mann-Kendall non-parametric test method and Hurst index method were used to analyze the inter-annual variation and annual distribution characteristics of the total water resources in the basin. The multi-scale temporal and spatial distribution and evolution trend of water resources in Qiandao Lake Basin were evaluated. The results show that: (1) The WEP-L model has good simulation results in the Qiandao Lake basin, and the Nash coefficient rate is above 0.83 in the periodic period and above 0.85 in the verification period. (2) The water yield coefficient of the whole basin ranges from 0.436 to 0.630. The annual average total water resource is 12.25 billion m3, equivalent to 1176.4mm of water depth. The annual distribution process shows a unimodal structure, and the water depth of each sub-basin ranges from 742 mm to 1266 mm, and the spatial distribution is higher in the west and lower in the east. (3) The annual water resources series in the basin showed an insignificant upward trend, and the Hurst index was 0.86, indicating a continuous upward trend. From the perspective of monthly water resources, January and February increased significantly, the other months were not significant changes.

Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) is the second most common neoplasm of head and neck in Tunisia. The distribution is bimodal with a first period occurrence between 15 and 20 years old and a second peak at around 50 years of age. Undifferentiated carcinoma of nasopharynx type III (UCNT) is the predominant histological type (93.4%). Data of cancer registry of North Tunisia confirmed that it is an intermediate risk area for NPC with overall ASRs of 3.6 and 1.6/100,000 respectively in males and females. This study aimed to present the evolution of incidence rate of nasopharyngeal carcinoma over a period of 12 years (1994-2006). Data of cancer registry of North Tunisia (NTCR), covering half of the Tunisian population, were used to determine evolution of NPC incidence, calculated by 5 year periods. The estimated annual percentage change (EAPC) was used as an estimate of the trend. To best summarize the behavior or the data trend across years, we used a join-point regression program. Between 1994 and 2006, we observed negative annual average change of standardized incidence in men and women (-3.3%and -2.7%) also for the standardized incidences which showed a rather important decline (26.4% in males and 22.3% in females). The truncated age standardized incidence rate of NPC in adults aged of 30 years old and more (N= 1209) decreased by -0.4% per year from 1994 to 2006 over time in north Tunisia dropping from 6.09 to 4.14 person-years. However, the rate was relatively stable during this period among youths aged 0-29 years (N= 233) in both sexes. NPC demonstrated a favorable evolution from 1994-2006 probably due to a improvement in socioeconomic conditions.

For the survival data analysis of no covariate the discount survival model is proposed to estimate the time-varying hazard rate and the survival function recursively. In comparison with the covariate case it provide the distributionally explicit evolution of hazard rate between time intervals under the assumption of a conjugate gamma distribution. Also forecasting of the hazard rate in the next time interval is suggested, which leads to the forcecasted survival function.
