  • Background: The purpose of this study is to investigate the factors affecting the healthy living practice rate such as non-smoking, moderate drinking, walking, and low-salt diet by elementary municipality (so called, 'si-gun-hu'). Methods: The 2016 Korean Community Health Survey was used for the analysis. The theoretical model is founded upon the Anderson model, and both the multiple linear regression analysis and the beta regression analysis was performed for estimation. Results: As a result of the beta regression analysis, healthy living practice rate was found to be significantly higher in the areas with a less number of cigarette retailers, participating in healthy city projects, a low proportion of people who perceive their body type as obesity, a higher proportion of women, and a lower proportion of spouses. Conclusion: In order to improve healthy living practices, the regulations on health risk businesses, the spread of Healthy City project, and policy efforts awaring obesity are recommended.

  • This paper examined the supply chain management Integration factors and evironmental performance in Korean industry. As SCM got evolved, the importance of Socially and Environmentally Responsible Supply Chain among the Supply Chain members are increased. we should consider the following critical factors such as SCM Integration, environmental practice, SCM performance and environmental performance. The purpose of this study is to focus on linkage between conventional SCM factors with new environmental factors to clarify the critical factor for the SCM firms who may concerns about environmental performance. Based on the analysis of sixty-two cases, the following results were found. First, SCM Integration factors of supply chain management have a positively significant influence on SCM performance and environmental performance of supply chain management. Second, SCM performance have a positively significant influent on environmental performance. Third, environmental practice factors of supply chain management have a positively significant influence on SCM performance but not significant influence on environmental performance. This study suggests that with high level of Integration and environmental practice, firms may have good result on SCM performance and environmental performance. Especially, our empirical evidence shows that environmental practices without good SCM performance, may not have good result on environmental performance.

  • Background: Cervical cancer is one of the commonest cancers among women all over the world. The association of cervical cancer with human papilloma virus (HPV) is well established. Knowledge about the causal relationship between HPV and cervical cancer is important to make appropriate, evidence-based health care choices. In this context we conducted a community based study among women about the knowledge, attitude and practice about HPV infections and their health effects. Materials and Methods: A cross sectional interview based house to house survey was conducted with a validated data collection tool covering sociodemographic factors, knowledge, attitude and practice about HPV and its health effects, among 1020 women from a rural village, Perdoor, in Udupi district, Karnataka, India in 2013-14. Results: The mean age of participants was 38.9 years (SD=12.6). Study participants showed a high literacy rate (85.7%). Only 2.4% of sexually exposed women had undergone Pap smear testing. Partners of 4.4%women had undergone circumcision and they belonged to the Muslim community. Male condom usage was reported by 26 women (2.6%). However, none of the participants had heard of HPV and its health effects. Conclusions: This community based study found complete ignorance about HPV among rural South Indian women in spite of a high literacy level.

  • Objectives: Due to advance of science and IT technology, high tech imaging equipment like ultrasonography, CT, MRI and PET scan is constantly being developed and progressed; use of these techniques is needed for Korean medicine. Methods: Historical study was undertaken on the evidence of using ultrasonography. Normal organs and various sorts of diseases were also observed by ultrasonography. Results: Korean medicine judges disease of internal organs and condition of health by symptoms of functional disease and organic disease based on anatomical theory. Ultrasonography based on anatomical theory is non-invasive and free from radiation exposure and can be performed directly from clinical practice in real-time. Ultrasonography can be a big help for securing the stability of the internal organs in inserting needles in the thorax and abdomen as well as diagnosing functional and organic diseases based on anatomical theory. Conclusion: We look forward to a great development of scientification and objectification of Korean medicine by using and researching imaging equipment based on anatomical theory as well as ultrasonography.

  • Objectives This study aimed to develop consensus-based recommendations for establishing standard clinical practice guidelines for pediatric anorexia through the utilization of a Delphi study. Methods We analyzed existing randomized controlled trials for pediatric anorexia treatment using the Delphi method-a structured process for achieving consensus among a panel of experts. A questionnaire was distributed among a select panel of nine specialists in the field. Results The initial Delphi round led to consensus on 30 distinct recommendations; however, consensus was not reached for 19 other recommendations, prompting a second Delphi round. In the subsequent round, adjustments were made based on feedback from the initial round, and deliberations were held on recommendations that previously lacked consensus. Following these adjustments, consensus was achieved on all recommendations. Additionally, a third Delphi iteration was conducted to address three specific queries that required amendment due to a reevaluation of the evidence levels of certain recommendations. In total, three Delphi rounds were carried out to produce informed recommendations related to the diagnosis, treatment, and general management of anorexia. Conclusions This investigation successfully generated evidence-based recommendations for the diagnosis and treatment of pediatric anorexia. The recommendations encompassed various practices, including herbal medicine, acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping, and Chuna manual therapy, which can be integrated into clinical settings.

  • Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, scholars at institutions of higher education around the world are transitioning their teaching, service, and research into online settings; for many this may be a new and challenging experience. While many of the best practices associated with research in traditional or face-to-face settings also apply to research in or via online settings, there are some additional challenges and nuances that researchers must adequately address and plan for due to the affordances and limitations of online settings. This paper discusses the key issues of privacy, informed consent, trust and trustworthiness, and retention through the literature and provides practical recommendations based on evidence and experience from two different online research projects. The reflections on and examples from these two research projects contextualize the above issues and act as evidence to inform research as a practice. The authors hope this evidence and practical guidance may help researchers better prepare for research in a socially distanced world.

  • Light therapy (also called light treatment or phototherapy) involves scheduled exposure to bright artificial light. Evidence-based treatments for sleep disorders especially for circadian rhythm sleep disorders include light therapy and pharmacotherapy. In clinical practice, many of patients with sleep problems tend to impair circadian rhythmicity. Considering that light is the most potent entraining agent of circadian rhythm, careful use of light therapy can be recommended for patients with several kinds of sleep disorders. I briefly review the possible therapeutic mechanisms and clinical applications of light therapy, focusing on circadian sleep disorders.

  • Dry socket, also termed fibrinolytic osteitis or alveolar osteitis, is a complication of tooth exodontia. A dry socket lesion is a post-extraction socket that exhibits exposed bone that is not covered by a blood clot or healing epithelium and exists inside or around the perimeter of the socket or alveolus for days after the extraction procedure. This article describes dry socket lesions; reviews the basic clinical techniques of treating different manifestations of dry socket lesions; and shows how microscope level loupe magnification of $6{\times}$ to $8{\times}$ or greater, combined with co-axial illumination or a dental operating microscope, facilitate more precise treatment of dry socket lesions. The author examines the scientific validity of the proposed causes of dry socket lesions (such as bacteria, inflammation, fibrinolysis, or traumatic extractions) and the scientific validity of different terminologies used to describe dry socket lesions. This article also presents an alternative model of what causes dry socket lesions, based on evidence from dental literature. Although the clinical techniques for treating dry socket lesions seem empirically correct, more evidence is required to determine the causes of dry socket lesions.
