Conceptualizing Accessible Tourism with Smart Technologies

  • In recent years, UNWTO and academics have called for the development of responsible, sustainable, and universally accessible tourism to promote equal human rights and social inclusion. Prior studies have also revealed the potential and value of smart technologies in reducing, if not removing, barriers to people with access requirements during travel and in their everyday lives. However, a guiding framework of how smart technologies assist in building an accessible destination is still absent, thereby hindering the progress of building accessible tourism. This paper aims to fill this knowledge gap. A conceptual model of smart accessible destination (SAD) was proposed drawing from the intersection of accessible tourism and smart tourism. With the guidance of this conceptual model, tourism destinations and stakeholders can recognize and utilize the synergies of accessible and smart tourism to enhance the social inclusion, competitiveness, and sustainability of a destination.

Microplastic release from damaged commercial teabags

  • The use of plastics in our everyday lives have been drastically increased during the last few decades. However with the usage of commercial plastic products there is a possibility of microplastic consumption, due to the fragmentation of the products. Additionally, the potential for microplastic ingestion may also be increased by using damaged products. Hence, the current study was conducted to understand the potential release of micro/nano plastics and organic matter from damaged teabags. To check the leakage tendency, the amount of damage to the tea bags from 1-10 cm were tested along with temperatures of 25-70℃, and exposure times from 5 min to 1 hr was tested. Release of fibrous micro/nanoplastics, and organic leachate from the damaged teabags were observed to understand the outflow conditions. Results showed that with the increased degree of damage, temperature, and exposure time increased the release of fiberous matter, where the increase of temperature, and exposure time increased organic leachate. Additional analysis confirmed the leachate of nylon polymers into the heated water.

암 생존자의 일상생활 복귀 경험 (The Experience of Cancer Survivor's Return to Everyday Life)

  • 본 연구는 암 생존자의 일상생활 복귀 경험의 이해를 통해 성공적인 일상생활 복귀와 삶의 질 향상 방안을 모색하고자 시도되었다. 암 치료 후 5년이 경과되어 완치 판정을 받은 19명을 암 생존자 환우회 및 인터넷 카페에 연구목적과 방법을 공지하여 모집하였다. 자료 수집은 2017년 1월 18일부터 2월 25일까지로 심층면담을 통해 실시되었으며, 자료가 포화될 때까지 이론적 표출을 시도하였다. 1회 면담 시간은 90분에서 120분 정도 소요되었으며, 인터뷰 이후 불충분한 내용은 추가 면담을 통해 내용을 확인 받았다. 면담 횟수는 1~3회였다. 근거이론에 따른 자료 분석을 실시하였으며, 암 생존자의 일상생활복귀 경험은 '고달픈 현실', '육체적 소진', '심리적 소진', '경제적 소진'이라는 인과적 조건으로 인해 '벗어날 수 없는 현실', '내일을 알 수 없는 불확실한 현실'이라는 중심현상이 발견되었다. '가족의 지지부족', '노동 취약계층으로의 이동', '미비한 지원시스템', '사회적 지원체계 희망', '위축된 성', '암/암환자에 대한 편견', '찾기 힘든 완치 이후 삶에 대한 정보' 등의 맥락적 조건에 따라 '적극적 건강관리', '긍정적 경험', '절대적 존재에 의지하기' 전략을 선택적으로 수행하였다. 이러한 전략 수행 과정은 중재적 조건인 '든든한 울타리', '효과적인 암보험'의 영향을 받았다. 그 결과는 '새로운 삶 구축하기' 또는 '견디기'로 나타났다. 암 생존자의 성공적인 일상생활 복귀를 위해서는 일상생활 복귀 과정에서 경험할 수 있는 문제들과 관련된 포괄적인 정보 제공 및 보건·복지적 개입이 필요하며, 향후 암 생존자 관리를 위한 시스템 구축 시 암 생존자의 요구를 반영한 지원 프로그램 개발이 필요하다.

영어시조에 나타난 위트에 대하여 (Wit in English Sijo)

  • 영어시조란 영어로 쓰인 시조를 말한다. 본고에서는 영어시조가 지닌 한 특성인 위트에 대해 논의하였다. 위트는 영어권에서 시조를 논의할 때 종종 주목받아 온 특성이며, 실제로 영어시조에는 매력적인 위트가 보이는 작품들이 다수 존재한다. 이렇듯 위트가 영어시조에서 부각된 양상과 그 문학적 가능성을 본고에서는 살펴보았다. 비평적 의미에서의 위트는 '부조화의 조화'를 핵심으로 하며, 비상한 이미지나 역설, 아이러니 등을 통해 흔히 구현된다. 본고에서는 이러한 비평적 의미에서의 위트가 시조에서 구현되어 인식적 풍자적 해학적 즐거움을 유발하는 양상을 고찰하였다. 먼저 고시조에 나타난 위트의 예를 들어 비교의 자료로 삼은 후, 이어 영어시조를 살펴보았다. 경구시와 소네트 같은 기존 장르, 아이러니와 위트에 대한 오랜 문학적 관념 등과의 연관 속에서 시조는 영어권에 수용되었다. 삼장 구조 중 종장의 반전이 지닌 묘미, 이에서 발생하는 아이러니와 위트는 영어권 사람들에게 시조가 어렵지 않게 수용되고 창작될 수 있었던 주요소였다. 이에 영어시조에는 위트를 통해 인식적 풍자적 해학적 즐거움을 주는 내용이 풍부하게 담길 수 있었다. 이러한 위트는 물론 고시조에도 내재되어 있는 것이다. 그러나 신랄한 풍자나 과장된 해학만이 아니라, 각박한 일상 속에서도 문득 스쳐지나가는 다양한 해학적 순간들을 포착해 낸 것은 영어시조에서 두드러지는 특징이라 할 수 있다. 일상의 힘을 북돋아 줄 수 있는 일상 속의 시로서 시조가 지닌 가능성을 영어시조는 보여 주고 있다.

대학생의 UCP2 유전자 다형성과 식습관 비교연구 (Comparison of UCP2 Polymorphism and Dietary Habits in University Students)

  • This study aimed to research meal quality and the dietary behaviors of college students for desirable dietary lives and provides basic data for nutritional education by examining polymorphism distribution of the UCP2 gene according to gender, by investigating attitudes in terms of their dietary habits and dietary lives, and by analyzing serum lipid levels and body composition. A survey was conducted with a total of 222 students - 93 male and 129 females. Based on a selfreporting method, the questionnaires were answered over 20 minutes, and UCP2 insertion/deletion gene polymorphism and blood samples were also analyzed. The results showed that the male students and female students had average BMI of 22.50 and $20.73\;kg/m^2$, respectively. According to answers regarding their dietary lives, 51.4% of the students showed 'irregular eating' patterns, which is regarded as something to be corrected. In terms of eating regularity, 51.6% of the male students and 59.7% of the female students had irregular meal schedules. As the most important meal of a day, 64.0% of the students answered 'breakfast' but only 53.6% answered that they ate breakfast everyday. In addition, 39.8% of the male students and 50.4% of the female students ate between meals 'once a day'. When questioned if they were satisfied with their body shape, 17.8 and 45.2% of the male students answered they were 'satisfied' or needed to 'gain weight', respectively, whereas 17.8 and 77.5% of the female students answered they were 'satisfied' or needed to 'lose weight', respectively. The results of the UCP2 gene polymorphism analysis showed that 33.7% of the males belonged to the DI heterozygote group, 64.2% belonged to the DD homozygote group, and 2.1% belonged to the II homozygote group. For the female students, 63.4% belonged to the DI heterozygote group, 35.1% belonged to the DD homozygote group, and 1.5% belonged to the II homozygote group. According to the blood and serum lipid analyses, the male students showed average HDL-cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, and hemoglobin levels of 57.20, 93.80, and 15.00 mg/dL, respectively, while the female students presented average levels of 56.69, 102.88, and 13.13 mg/dL, respectively. In conclusion, this study found no significant effects in terms of UCP2 gene polymorphisms, but it is suggested that practical plans must be designed that allow college students to use nutritional knowledge in their daily lives, and in particular, nutrition education needs to be develop that would enable female college students to recognize their bodies appropriately and to control their weight in desirable ways.

소비자보호를 위한 기업마아켓팅의 방향에 관한 연구 (A Study on Manufacture's Marketing for Consumer Protection)

  • The consumer affair is one of the rapidly evolving problems in the process of recent economic growth. As the society and its economy changes, the nature and the scope of the consumer affairs also changes. while the main concept of the consumer affaires originated from the market mechanism, it is now expanding beyond the market mechanism to include everyday lives of consumers. In solving the problems which arise form the status difference between the manufacturer and the consumer the manufacturer's action is no less important the consumer's self-improvement of its status. The manufactures with the purpose of getting maximum profits from the consumers are conducting the consumer oriented managerial marketing, but this sis done form the manufacturer's point of view with the consumer's position being neglected. It is the purpose of this paper to investigate the nature and direction of the marketing from the consumer's position being neglected. It is the purpose of this paper to investigate the nature and direction of the marketing from the consumer's point of view. For this study a couple of pre-investigations were done. First, I surveyed the changing consumers with economic growth the developing process of marketing, and the cause and characteristics of the today's consumer affaires. Second, I studied the concept change of the modern marketing, and the concept of the consumerism which was materialized by this concept change. I further studied, with the consumer's point of view, the socioecological marketing which is based on the consumerism. The conclusion of this investigation is that the manufacturers should convert the in humanized marketing to the more human and environment conscious socioecological marketing because the consumer affairs which arise from the mass consumption of the modern days are expanding to include everyday's problems. This conversion naturally should be based on the human concept based consumerism. To be more effective, the manufactures should assume more social responsibilities and conduct the socioecological marketing voluntarily and willingly.

중국 수출용 아웃도어 웨어 개발을 위한 중국 소비자의 한류에 대한 태도 및 착용실태 조사 - 중국인 관광객을 대상으로 - (A Study of Chinese Consumer's Attitude towards Korean Wave and Wearing Condition for Outdoor Clothing Development into the China Market - Focused on Chinese Tourist -)

  • This study is intended to offer basic data for developing outdoor clothing exported to China by identifying how Chinese consumers use outdoor clothing. To accomplish the objective, a survey was conducted on 300 male and female Chinese tourists in their 10s to 40s who have purchased outdoor clothing before. As more than twice as many respondents said they wear sweatsuit or everyday clothes for mountain-climbing instead of outdoor clothing, the necessity of outdoor clothing is obviously perceived at a low level. Among them, 57.4% wear outdoor clothing as townwear in everyday lives, and other respondents are dissatisfied with the design. Thus, it is necessary to develop townwear-style design. When buying outdoor clothing, wearability was the biggest consideration. Also, the first criteria for evaluating outdoor clothing was practicality for mountain-climbing activities. The functionality of outdoor clothing they needed the most was air permeability. As for outdoor clothing top, the main inconvenience was tightness around the neck. As for bottoms, it was tightness of pants when bending knees. In terms of areas to be improved, the No. 1 was unformed design. Thus, it is imperative to develop design of diverse styles. As the Chinese outdoor clothing market has grown significantly in recent years, the following should be executed by domestic companies before advancing to the market. First, they should form Korean brand image and boost the brand awareness with various activities, amid Korean Wave. Second, they should develop preferred designs among Chinese consumers and strengthen functionality of products, based on consumer survey.

신역사주의적 극장성의 재고(再考) -17세기 중반 뉴스북과 플레이릿 연구를 중심으로 (What's happening to theatricality after the rise of New Historicism?: A Study of Newsbooks and Playlets During the English Civil Wars and Their Significance as Textual and Theatrical Forms)

  • Since the publication of Foucault's Discipline and Punish, theatricality has become one of the key concepts in New Historicism. By defining theatricality as the most definitive feature of early modern society and culture, New Historicists have promoted the idea that theatrical practices in every day life were eventually replaced by textual practices as the western society started to undergo modernization with the advent of print culture and technologies. This paper questions this linear model of English literature, the shift of literary practices from theatricality to textuality in the event of modernization, by closely looking at the ways in which newsbooks and playlets during the English civil wars appealed to their target readers. The early print-based literary commodities during the English civil war (i.e. newsbooks and playlets) were able to win the attention of their audience not by breaking away from theatrical energy and creativity but instead by embracing and taking advantage of them through the use of dramatic conventions, dialogues, and many others. The newsbooks and the playlets during the time, however, did not simply replicate the dramatic forms and experiences of the previous generation. Instead, as the case study of Craftie Cromwell exemplifies, they went further to produce a different mode of theatricality by reshaping everyday lives into serialized drama, whose resolution is always already delayed and postponed into the ever-receding future. In conclusion, the study of the newsbook and playlets during the civil wars suggests that the textuality of modern times, materialized in print forms, have been co-evolved with the development of new theatricality, whose contents and forms are susceptible to the changes of everyday reality.

  • Religion has a very close relationship with our everyday lives. In particular, religion maintains an absolute and ultimate value system and is deeply associated with all sectors of society such as politics, economy, thought, arts, culture, and science. The original meaning of religion in Buddhism means the teachings that become fundamentals. There are numerous religions around the world, and each religion has its own object of faith, different system, and unique rites and lifestyles. Therefore, evaluating or denouncing other regions based on the doctrines or conventions of a specific religion can lead to conflicts and disputes. The Buddhist Vinaya Pitaka related to alternative dispute resolution (ADR) is a method regarding the operation of a community. Vinaya Pitaka contains Buddha's teachings about individual and organizational ethics and on community life and activities. It is the Buddhist dispute resolution (BDR) of the Vinayata Pitaka that contains knowledge on howto remedy disputes among the four types of disputes that can occur. Vinaya Pitaka contains the principles and systems of BDR, and it is sufficient background for succeeding in the development of harmony today. The messages of laws, ethics, and Buddhist teachings are clear in these characteristics. The systems, progress, and procedures for various rites, events, and disputes as well as for everyday life, etc. display a rational operating system through karma. In particular, when disputes occur, the cause of the dispute is resolved as much as possible through transparent fairness and being unanimous using the seven remedies for disputes. Buddhist priests pursue private autonomy of ADR through karma, repentance, acceptance, etc. to maintain and continue the integrated functions of Buddhist priest harmony.

  • 21세기에 들어서며 인터넷의 전세계적인 보급과 그 활성화로 인해, 인터넷은 현대인의 생활에서 빼놓을 수 없는 중요한 화두가 되었다. 컴퓨터와 인터넷의 대중적 보급과 더불어 일상생활은 물론 사회 전반의 전개 양상이 변화하였다. 급격한 사회 변화에 따라 변화하는 학습자의 특성과 사회 요구를 잘 파악하여 미래사회에 필요한 인재를 육성하는 방향으로 교육의 목적과 방법 변화가 요구된다. 이를 위해 최근 사용자가 주체가 되는 웹 2.0과 교육을 연결시켜 새로운 학습 방법을 고안하려는 움직임이 다수 보이고 있다. 웹 2.0의 다양한 요소들 가운데에서도 블로그는 개인이 주체가 되어 운영한다는 점과 블로거들끼리의 상호작용이 활발하다는 점에서, 학습에 이용할 때 학습자 중심의 학습과 다양한 의견을 가진 학습자들끼리의 활발한 토론을 이끌어낼 수 있으리라 기대된다. 본 연구에서는 블로그를 활용한 학습을 설계하여 실제 학습자들을 대상으로 활용해보고, 블로그를 활용한 학습이 학습자의 학업성취와 학습흥미, 학습전이에 어떤 효과가 있는지 분석하고자 한다.
