  • This paper proposes a standard method for linking data between the U-City Integrated Urban Management Platform and u-service systems through systemization of event identification and standardization of event priority. By applying the proposed method, the incoming events to the Management Platform are listed and processed according to their priority of urgency. The application of the systemized event ID and standardized event priority enables prompt counter-measures against urban emergencies and disasters, which improves the efficiency of business processes by reducing the time and cost to complete required actions.

  • While SNS services such as Twitter or Facebook are rapidly growing, research for the SNS analysis has been concerned. Especially, twitter reacts to social issues in real-time so that it is used to get useful experimental data for researchers of social science or information retrieval. However, it is still lack of research on the methodology to collect data. Therefore, this paper suggests the tweet acquisition system by considering tendency of twitter user oriented location-based event and political social event. First the system acquires tweets including information of location and keyword about event and secure IDs for acquisition of political social event. Then we plan ID-analyzer to classify the tendency of users. In addition for measuring reliability of ID-analyzer, it acquires and analyzes the tweet by using high-ranked ID. In analyses result, top-ranked ID shows 88.8% reliability, 2nd-ranked ID shows 76.05% and ID-analyzer shows 77.5%, it shortens collection time by using minority ID.

  • Event driven service (EDS) is one of such services administrating different functions of multiple service providers according to the user situation. This paper first describes the service model of EDS, a User-centric Service for multiple service provider environments over the next generation networks. The multiple provider environments stimulates the unified identifier management, namely unified identification (U-ID), to enable users to be provided network services without awareness of multiple providers. Combining these two concepts, i.e., EDS and U-ID, the designed structure of EDS with U-ID and related procedures are given. Finally, the implementation results tested on Korea Advanced Research Network (KOREN) are described.

  • This study was conducted to suggest a landslide triggering rainfall threshold (ID curve) for landslide prediction by considering the effect of antecedent rainfall. 202 rainfall data including domestic landslide and rainfall records were used in this study. In order to consider the effect of antecedent rainfall, rainfall data were analyzed by changing Inter Event Time Definition (IETD) and IETD based ID curve were presented by regression analysis. Compared to the findings of the previous studies, the presented ID curve has a tendency to predict the landslides occurring at a relatively low rainfall intensity. It is shown that the proposed ID curve is appropriate and realistic for predicting landslides through the validation of proposed ID curve using records of landslides in 2014. Based on this analysis, it is found that the longer IETD, the greater the effect of antecedent rainfall, and the steeper the gradient of ID curve. It is also found that the rainfall threshold (intensity) is higher for the short period rainfall and lower for the long period rainfall.

  • Mobile and telecommunication networking uses temporary and random identifiers (IDs) to protect user privacy. For greater intelligence and security o the communications between the core network and the mobile user, we design and build a dynamic randomization scheme for the temporary IDs for mobile networking, including 5G and 6G. Our work for ID randomization (ID-RZ) advances the existing state-of-the-art ID re-allocation approach in 5G in the following ways. First, ID-RZ for ID updates is based on computing, as opposed to incurring networking for the re-allocation-based updates, and is designed for lightweight and low-latency mobile systems. Second, ID-RZ changes IDs proactively (as opposed to updating based on explicit networking event triggers) and provides stronger security (by increasing the randomness and frequency of ID updates). We build on the standard cryptographic primitives for security (e.g., hash) and implement our dynamic randomization scheme in the 5G networking protocol to validate its design purposes, which include time efficiency (two to four orders of magnitude quicker than the re-allocation approach) and appropriateness for mobile applications.

  • In this paper, we design and implement a product information guidance system Based on BLE beacons. This system is designed to provide various functions such as contactless entrance service through mobile ticket, seat guidance service, event push service, content push service, and public service. This system consists of three modules: a beacon recognition module, a server linkage module, and a content transmission module. The beacon recognition module implements a function of transmitting a specific ID of a nearby beacon when a customer with a smartphone approaches the available service area. The server linkage module recognizes the beacon ID value, transfers it to the server, and implements the function to check the location of the server having the ID. The content transmission module implements a function of transmitting event or service information set at a corresponding location to a smartphone. The beacon-based product information guidance system implemented in this paper has the advantage of being able to quickly and easily implement various product information guidance systems.

  • Local Interconnect Network (LIN) is a low-speed in-vehicle network bus, and it is widely used in body applications such as windows, doors, HVAC, and lighting. This review explains protocols and message frames of LIN bus in detail. LIN bus basically transmits ID and payloads in data frame. How to interpret ID and payloads is defined in LIN Description file (LDF). Each LIN bus has unique LDF and its corresponding unique configuration. This review also explains syntax and example of LDF in detail.

  • Considerations for user-centric environments are regarded as essential for the successful deployment of convergence services in BcN. Event driven service (EDS) is regarded as a typical convergence service converging different functions of multiple service providers to support user-centric environments. This paper first describes the deployment model and service scenario of EDS, a convergence service for user-centric environments in BcN. The user-centric environments stimulates the unified identifier management, namely unified identification (U-ID), to enable users to be provided convergence services without awareness of multiple providers. Then the designed structure and implementation results are given.

  • In this paper, a new handover procedure for OFDM-based multi-hop relay systems is proposed to reduce the handover overhead by distinguishing inter-cell handover event from intra-cell handover event at the level of physical layer using a hierarchical design concept of preamble. A Subcell ID concept for identifying RS in a cell is proposed in the design of hierarchical manner, in addition to the existing Cell ID for identifying BS. The decision on either inter-cell handover or intra-cell handover is made by the signal quality measure of CBINR(Carrier of BS to Interference and Noise Ratio) and CRINR(Carrier of RS to Interference and Noise Ratio), provided by the hierarchical preamble. The proposed handover procedure can simplify scanning procedure and skip/simplify network re-entry procedure (capability negotiation, authorization, registration), resulting in a significant reduction of handover overhead.
