The Development of Design and Evaluation Guidelines of Convenient Equipments of Farm Work for the Elderly

  • Objective: This study is to develop a design and evaluation guide to the ergonomic design of the farm working convenient equipments in order for the elderly to use them easily and safely. Background: The aging population has already increased in farm villages. But due to the usage of the farm working equipments that did not reflect the characteristics and functional changes of aging, accidents and patients with disease are increasing. Method: The study investigated the functional changes and physical, cognitive, and sensuous characteristics of the aged. By determining the criteria for classification of the convenient equipments by crop, and by finding out the items necessary for the ergonomic design, a guide to this study is proposed. Results: It is obvious that the physical, cognitive and sensuous functions change as the aging process continues. Therefore, for the design and evaluation of Control Panel, Control Lever, Frame Size, Shape, and Equipment Weight that are the necessary items for the ergonomic approach for the farm working equipments, such characteristics have to be reflected. Conclusion: Through this study, a guide to the design and evaluation of convenient equipments for the farm works that reflected the aging characteristics and functional changes has been proposed. Application: The result of this study is to expect not only designers but also related specialists to make the best use of it.

Development of a Project Design Stage BIM Guide for Project Owners (공공발주자의 설계단계 BIM 발주업무 지원을 위한 가이드 개발 연구)

  • Although BIM has been recognized as one of the main streams that advance the construction industry worldwide, it is difficult to ensure the quality of BIM data due to the problems such as internal errors of BIM tools and lack of guidelines that enhance design quality. Such problems cause designers, constructors, and project owners to hesitate applying it to their business. The main objective of this research is to develop a BIM guide for public project owners that is to be usable at the design phase of the public projects. To meet the objective, the study invited 10 BIM experts from Korean construction industry and operated workshops with focus group interview methodology. As well, a number of BIM guidelines from the BIM advanced countries were reviewed to identify valuable contents for the guide. There are four main parts in the guide developed: BIM design procurement process guide, Request for Proposal development guide for BIM design, BIM execution plan development and evaluation guide, and BIM output and deliverables review and evaluation guide.

Improvement of Mobile Tour-Guide Robots from the Perspective of Users (이용자 측면의 이동형 관람 안내 로봇 개선)

  • A mobile tour-guide robot is a very attractive tour-guide in the exhibition hall of science museums and the necessity of tour-guide robots for museums is gradually increasing. Two kinds of robots have served as tour-guide robots in an exhibition hall of the Korea National Science Museum which is a very densely populated museum of many people and exhibits. The robots move around the large exhibition area and provide guide services to lots of visitors. A robot leads the way to the exhibit that a visitor wants to find and it takes the shortest route. Robots were operated for four months from January to April 2011, and we observed behavior of visitors and collected subjective evaluation of users. The result shows that there are four stages of using a mobile tour-guide robot and some differences of subjective evaluations depending on the gender and the age of the user and we suggest several improvements on the mobile tour-guide robot.

  • CC ver.3 is widening evaluation range extent about Security product. As a result, The security product evaluation research need more definite standard that serves to evaluate composition style product. The paper propose a development guide for composition style TOE. This research is suitable in evaluation basis of CC ver.3, and presents Korean-made composition style product estimation plan. This paper used European ITSEM component guide and TOE analysis to present estimation guide method of composition style product.

  • Outcome Evaluation은 미국의 DOE(Department Of Energy)산하 EERE(Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy)에서 프로그램 평가를 위해 사용하는 General Program Evaluation Guide에서 언급된 5가지 평가방법 중 하나로 프로그램의 결과를 측정하여 평가하는 방법이다. 이는 프로그램을 시행한 후 일정한 기간이 지난 뒤 프로그램의 목적을 달성함으로써 얻어지는 결과를 추산하여 그 기간 동안 프로그램이 의도했던 목적을 위해 얼마나 잘 수행되었는지를 보여준다. 본 연구에서는 Outcome Evaluation을 이용하여 한국에서 진행되고 있는 신재생에너지 보급사업에 대한 평가를 하였다. 현재 한국의 신재생에너지 보급사업은 크게 보급지원제도와 기반조성사업으로 나누어져 있으나 본 연구에서는 보급지원제도에 중점을 두어 평가를 진행하였다. General Program Evaluation Guide에 따르면 Outcome Evaluation의 방법론은 engineering estimation에서 survival analysis에 이르기까지 다양한 방법론을 제시하지만 본 연구에서는 Tabulation과 Correlation을 주로 활용하였다. 먼저 평가의 대상이 되는 프로그램과 시기를 정하고 평가지표를 산정한 뒤 위와 같은 방법론을 활용해 평가를 진행했고, 그 시사점을 도출하였다.

Designing an Integrated Online-guide for Overseas Applicants Seeking to Teach English in Korea: Focus on Job and Visa Application

  • This study suggests an effective online guide for foreign teachers who want to teach English in Korean schools. When designing this guide for overseas applicants, there should be a consistent analysis to reflect the process of the system. Thus, this paper provides an analysis and results for an integrated online guide to increase the efficiency based on the pedagogical framework for analysis of the 'ADDIE' model (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The number of job applicants who wish to teach English in Korea is growing rapidly because Korea is one of the fastest growing economies in the world and the 'Korean Wave' has especially been experiencing significant changes with the development of social network services and digital technologies. As a result, overseas applicants' expectations regarding Korea when they are seeking information and applying is very high, but the aspects of the procedure provided by the government are somewhat disappointing. The paper presents customer needs and specific recommendation for each step of the application process to improve the guide's effectiveness.

  • This paper describes estimation method for 2D position error of planar XY stage from measured profiles of guide-ways. The XY stage usually moves along its guide ways. The motion error of each stage has effect on 2D position errors of XY stages and affected mainly by profiles of guide-ways. To estimate 2D position error and flatness of stages, the profiles of guide-ways were measured and used in motion error estimation.
