  • A vibrational model of powder transfer equipment based on the lumped parameter method was developed, in which the operating motion consists of surging, bouncing, and pitching. After decoupling the equation of motion, the vibrational excitation source of the pitching motion was removed. So the designers are able to plan the optimum design to adjust the motion trajectory of the powder transfer equipment. That is, a procedure to adjust the motion trajectory of powder transfer equipment by changing design specifications such as the installation position, the direction of the motor, the driving speed, the mass unbalance, the stiffness coefficient, and the installation position of the support spring, is presented in this paper. The powder transfer equipment manufactured according to the results of this study did not suffer fatigue destruction, since the maximum stress on the basket structure was sufficiently small.

  • The Temporary construction refers to the construction or dismantling of temporary structures installed for the construction of the main structure at the construction site, and the members constituting this temporary facility are called temporary equipment. Temporary equipment used in construction sites is mostly used products that are reused rather than new products, and it is necessary to consider performance degradation due to repeated use. This study is a preliminary study to develop the performance evaluation criteria applied to temporary equipment that is distributed and reused for secondhand. This study is to analyze the performance status of temporary equipment of used goods owned by rental companies by condition grade through performance tests.

  • The purposes of this study were to identify the evaluation categories, areas, attributes of the hospital food service and to define the relative importance of the evaluation categories, areas, attributes of the hospital food service using analytic hierarchy process. A survey was conducted from January 8th to 25th in 2007. Questionnaires were mailed to the 310 directors of dietetic departments of hospitals that included 160 primary hospitals, 107 secondary hospitals, and 43 tertiary hospitals. The result of the analytic hierarchy process indicated that relative importance of evaluation category was 0.5259 for food service management and 0.3407 for nutrition care. The food service management consisted of four subcategories, which are equipment standard, sanitation, production, and delivery service. Sanitation(relative importance: 0.2652) was the most important area among the subcategories and it was followed by equipment standard(0.2067), delivery service(0.1864) and production(0.1848). The nutrition care has two subcategories, menu management and meal management. The relative importance of menu management(0.4174) was higher than that of meal management(0.3555). The quality of food service and nutrition care to inpatients can be improved by the evaluation system based on appropriate applications of the developed evaluation indicators for hospital food service systems.

  • This article presents a newly developed equipment system for computer-aided, magneto-inductive testing of metals for material properties. The advantages of ultramodern computer technology over conventional test mothods are illustrated, in particular the greatly simplified equipment adjustment and the extended possibilities of test data evaluation. The characterisitics of the new system of equipment are demonstrated by way of practical testing examples.

  • When we analyze equipment replacement problem, we take the table of the duration period of tangible fixed asset on the corporation income tax law, and treat depreciation as simple allocation process for capital recovery. In this problem, there are some papers considering the concepts of economic depreciation. Those are not perfect model from a economical point of view. Therefore, we deal with equipment replacement problem considering the engineering valuation as well as the economic concept in the evaluation of asset.

  • With the development of industrial technology and science, production and manufacturing facilities have been enhanced and improved, and the importance of the safety of workers has also been regulated and limited by various safety management methods. As a way to secure the safety of the workers from the production facility, the fail-safe and fool-proof methods are now being applied. Any possible insecure behavior and unsafe conditions can be removed by adopting the standards and specifications that are now secure the safety of workers and equipment. This research analyzes EN ISO 13849-1 international and European standards during CE certification. In order to secure acceptable reduced risks, the risk assessment process of ISO 12100 and the processes for reducing its risk are applied. In the current ISO 13849-1 standard, the criteria for the required performance level PLr (Required Performance Level) for the applicable risk and safety functions through the risk assessment are subjective and not subdivided. Therefore, the evaluation criteria are likely to cause judge's judgement error due to qualitative judgement. This research focuses on evaluation and acceptable performance level setting for the safety circuit of the equipment. We propose an objective and specific evaluation criteria to secure safety, and the proposed evaluation criteria are applied to the case study of the safety circuit for the equipment. In order to secure the safety of the entire safety circuit, the improvement of the MTTFd and DC level related to the SRP/CS (Safety-Related Parts of Control Systems)' lifetime is required for the future research.

  • In this paper, in order to prevent electric shock of high voltage system of HFCV after crash test, insulation performance measurement methods were studied. Under conditions of in-use, insulation performance tests can be divided into measurement method using the vehicle's own RESS as DC voltage source and measurement method using DC voltage from off-vehicle sources. However, these tests can not be applied after a post-crash because parts of high voltage system cover should be removed, and insulation performance can be influenced during these tests. Therefore, we proposed post-crash insulation performance test methods for preventing electric shock through problem analysis of previous post-crash insulation performance tests. Also, test equipment which can measure voltage absence and total energy was developed. We verified performance of the equipment through experiments with vehicle test.
