Dynamic problems arising from the Euler-Bernoulli beam model with inhomogeneous elastic properties are considered. The method of Green's function and perturbation theory are employed to find the deflection in the beam correct to the first-order. Eigenvalue problems appearing from transverse vibrations of inhomogeneous beams in linear and nonlinear cases are also discussed.
In this article we prove the existence of the solution to the mixed problem for Euler-Bernoulli beam equation with memory condition at the boundary and we study the asymptotic behavior of the corresponding solutions. We proved that the energy decay with the same rate of decay of the relaxation function, that is, the energy decays exponentially when the relaxation function decay exponentially and polynomially when the relaxation function decay polynomially.
An Euler/Navier Stokes solver has been developed for the analysis of steady and unsteady flows. The $q-{\omega}$ turbulent model has been incorporated into the solver in strongly coupled manner for stability and robustness. A new Chimera hole cutting algorithm, Cut-paste algorithm, has been devised for automatic Chimera hole cutting. Number of viscous/inviscid numerical computations demonstrate the accuracy and the versatility of the solver.

The Cahn-Hilliard equation was proposed as a phenomenological model for describing the process of phase separation of a binary alloy. The equation has been applied to many physical applications such as amorphological instability caused by elastic non-equilibrium, image inpainting, two- and three-phase fluid flow, phase separation, flow visualization and the formation of the quantum dots. To solve the Cahn-Hillard equation, many numerical methods have been proposed such as the explicit Euler's, the implicit Euler's, the Crank-Nicolson, the semi-implicit Euler's, the linearly stabilized splitting and the non-linearly stabilized splitting schemes. In this paper, we investigate each scheme in finite-difference schemes by comparing their performances, especially stability and efficiency. Except the explicit Euler's method, we use the fast solver which is called a multigrid method. Our numerical investigation shows that the linearly stabilized stabilized splitting scheme is not unconditionally gradient stable in time unlike the known result. And the Crank-Nicolson scheme is accurate but unstable in time, whereas the non-linearly stabilized splitting scheme has advantage over other schemes on the time step restriction.

In this paper we deal with classical instability problems of heterogeneous Euler beam under conservative loading. It is chosen as the model problem to systematically present several possible solution methods from simplest deterministic to more complex stochastic approach, both of which that can handle more complex engineering problems. We first present classical analytic solution along with rigorous definition of the classical Euler buckling problem starting from homogeneous beam with either simplified linearized theory or the most general geometrically exact beam theory. We then present the numerical solution to this problem by using reduced model constructed by discrete approximation based upon the weak form of the instability problem featuring von Karman (virtual) strain combined with the finite element method. We explain how such numerical approach can easily be adapted to solving instability problems much more complex than classical Euler's beam and in particular for heterogeneous beam, where analytic solution is not readily available. We finally present the stochastic approach making use of the Duffing oscillator, as the corresponding reduced model for heterogeneous Euler's beam within the dynamics framework. We show that such an approach allows computing probability density function quantifying all possible solutions to this instability problem. We conclude that increased computational cost of the stochastic framework is more than compensated by its ability to take into account beam material heterogeneities described in terms of fast oscillating stochastic process, which is typical of time evolution of internal variables describing plasticity and damage.

We obtain special type of differential equations which their solution are random variable with known continuous density function. Stochastic differential equations (SDE) of continuous distributions are determined by the Fokker-Planck theorem. We approximate solution of differential equation with numerical methods such as: the Euler-Maruyama and ten stages explicit Runge-Kutta method, and analysis error prediction statistically. Numerical results, show the performance of the Rung-Kutta method with respect to the Euler-Maruyama. The exponential two parameters, exponential, normal, uniform, beta, gamma and Parreto distributions are considered in this paper.
We present and discuss an algorithm for the numerical solution of initial value problems of the form $D_*^\alpha$y(t) = f(t, y(t)), y(0) = y0, where $D_*^\alpha$y is the derivative of y of order $\alpha$ in the sense of Caputo and 0<${\alpha}{\leq}1$. The algorithm is based on the fractional Euler's method which can be seen as a generalization of the classical Euler's method. Numerical examples are given and the results show that the present algorithm is very effective and convenient.
The development of a parallelized aerodynamic simulation process involving moving bodies is presented. The implementation of this process is demonstrated using a fully systemized Chimera methodology for steady and unsteady problems. This methodology consists of a Chimera hole-cutting, a new cut-paste algorithm for optimal mesh interface generation and a two-step search method for donor cell identification. It is fully automated and requires minimal user input. All procedures of the Chimera technique are parallelized on the Cray T3E using the MPI library. Two and three-dimensional examples are chosen to demonstrate the effectiveness and parallel performance of this procedure.
In this study simply supported nonlinear Euler-Bernoulli beams resting on linear elastic foundation and subjected to the axial loads is investigated. A new kind of analytical technique for a non-linear problem called He's Energy Balance Method (EBM) is used to obtain the analytical solution for non-linear vibration behavior of the problem. Analytical expressions for geometrically non-linear vibration of Euler-Bernoulli beams resting on linear elastic foundation and subjected to the axial loads are provided. The effect of vibration amplitude on the non-linear frequency and buckling load is discussed. The variation of different parameter to the nonlinear frequency is considered completely in this study. The nonlinear vibration equation is analyzed numerically using Runge-Kutta $4^{th}$ technique. Comparison of Energy Balance Method (EBM) with Runge-Kutta $4^{th}$ leads to highly accurate solutions.
A fundamental study for the numerical scheme to simulate unsteady nonlinear waves by solving Euler equations is presented. First a conservation form and a non-conservation form of the Euler equations with a free surface fitted coordinate system are compared. Next, a time splitting fractional step method and an alternating direction implicit(ADI) method for the time integration are compared. For the comparative study, flow calculations around a bottom bump in a channel and a NACA 0012 hydrofoil in a flume are performed. The results show that the ADI method with a third order upwind differencing scheme is very efficient in reducing the computing time with keeping the accuracy, And, there is no distinct difference between two expression forms except that the non-conservative form shows faster wave propagating velocity than the conservation form. Some results are compared with experiments and show good agreement.
