Packet Delay and Loss Analysis of Real-time Traffic in a DBA Scheme of an EPON (EPON의 DBA 방안에서 실시간 트래픽의 패킷 손실률과 지연 성능 분석)

  • As the rapid incensement of the number of internet users has occurred recently, many multimedia application services have been emerging. To improve quality of service, traffic can be suggested to be classified with priority in EPON(Ethernet Passive Optical Network), which is supporting the multimedia application services. In this paper, multimedia application services treat bandwidth classifying device in serving both delay sensitive traffic for real-time audio, video and voice data such as VoIP(Voice over Internet Protocol), and nonreal-time traffic such as BE(Best Effort). With looking through existing mechanisms, new mechanism to improve the quality will be suggested. The delay performances and packet losses of traffic achieved by supporting bandwidth allocation of upstream traffic in suggested mechanism will be analyzed with simulation.

  • In this study under the distributed system for efficient distribution resource completely symmetic global scheduler was designed and implemented to obtain the general global scheduler, that is load balancing as sharing objectives. To balance the system's load efficiently each node must be designed to get right decision-making. Thus we considered computing time to estimate fault such as delay on communication network, communication period and other decision-making. Load balancing mechanism which suggested in this study was implemented in the distributed system which IBM PC/AT linked to and composed with Ethernet. The target operating system was composed of IBM PC/AT as a basic construction in which proper type of UNIX operating system were ported and communication layer chose communication type implemented from Amoeba. The method of IPC employing layered multilevel access method to avoid inefficient protocol using direct communication mode guarantees rapid response due to short ready time for IPC.

  • This paper is described about the on-line, real-time quality information management system as the infrastructure of CIM, which we developed for the full automatic washing machine assembly line. This System is composed of Ethernet LAN, RS-485 Network, POP terminal, BAR CODE Scanner, PLC, ROBOT, measuring equipments and real-time processing software. We will run this system from next month regularly.

  • This is an example of ABSTRACT format. We made a HTTP server using 8 bit microprocessor It was TMP84c015 which applied a z80 core and RTL8019AS was installed for an ethernet physical layer. Assembly language was used to optimized a performance of the MPU, to overcome an restriction of memory sire and to maximize the throughput of packet using TCP, UDP, IP, ICMP, ARP protocol. We used LabVIEW to verify the each protocol on the client side.

  • Multistage interconnection networks (MINs) have been recognized as an efficient interconnection network for high-performance computer systems and also have been recently identified to be effective for a switching fabric of new communication structures - gigabit ethernet switch, terabit router, and ATM (asynchronous transfer mode). While lots of models analyzing the performance of MINs have been proposed, they are either inaccurate or, even if accurate, very complex for the analysis. In this paper, we propose an extremely simple mode for evaluating the multibuffered MIN with small clock cycles based on the approximation approach. Comprehensive computer simulation shows that the proposed model is very accurate in terms of the throughput and mean delay. Furthermore, it significantly reduces the computing overhead due to its simplicity.

  • We have developed a biological signal measurement, archiving, and communication system (SiMACS). The front end of the system is the intelligent data processing unit (IDPU) which includes ECG, EEG, EMG, blood pressure, respiration, temperature measurement modules, module control and data acquisition unit, real-time display and signal processing unit. IDPUS are connected to central data base unit through LAN(Ethernet). Workstations which receive signals from central DB and provide various signal analysis tools are also connected to the network. The developed PC-based SiMACS is described.

  • 최근 다양한 네트워크를 쉽게 구축/제거할 수 있고, 관리에 필요한 비용을 최소화하는 네트워크 기술에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 본 논문은 이를 위한 대표적인 방법인 가상 라우터 구축에 초점을 맞춘다. 가상 라우터는 소프트웨어 라우터와 달리 각 가상 네트워크의 완전한 문리와 독립이 가능하다. 그러나 물리 자원에 대한 공유로 인한 성능 저하가 나타나는 문제가 있다. 이는 대량의 네트워크 트래픽을 처리해야 하는 라우터에 치명적이다. 따라서 본 논문은 가상 라우터에서의 성능 저하 정도를 측정하고, 이에 대한 원인을 분석한다. 이는 향후 성능 향상을 위한 가상 라우터 개선에 필요한 기반 자료로써 가치가 있다.
