부산지역에 적합한 시간당 수평면 전일사량 산출모델의 비교분석 (Comparison Analysis of Estimation Models of Hourly Horizontal Global Solar Radiation for Busan, Korea)

  • Hourly horizontal global solar radiation has been used as one of significant parameters in a weather file for building energy simulations, which determines the quality of building thermal performance. However, as about twenty two weather stations in Korea have actually measured the horizontal global sola radiation, the weather files collected in other stations requires solar data simulation from the other meteorological parameters. Thus, finding the reliable complicated method that can be used in various weather conditions in Korea is critically important. In this paper, three solar simulation models were selected and evaluated through the reliability test with the simulated hourly horizontal global solar radiation against the actually measured solar data to find the most suitable model for the south east area of Korea. Three selected simulation models were CRM, ZHM, and MRM. The first two models are regression type models using site-fitted coefficients which are derived from the correlation between measured solar data and local meteorological parameters from the previous years, and the last model is a mechanistic type model using the meteorological data to calculate conditions of atmospheric constituents that cause absorption and scattering of the extraterrestrial radiation on the way to the surface on the Earth. The evaluation results show that ZHM is the most reliable model in this area, yet a complicated hybrid simulation methods applying the advantages of each simulation method with the monthly-based weather data is needed.

수도권의 사업체 규모에 따른 화물발생 예측 방법론 연구 (A Study on the Method of Freight Generation Estimation according to Company Size in Seoul Metropolitan Area)

  • 화물발생 예측을 위해 주로 이용된 방법은 교통존을 중심으로 한 공간단위의 접근기법이다. 또한 연구사례에 따라 물동량 전수화 방법에 차이가 있고 모형에 포함된 변수가 다른 경우가 많아 일관된 화물발생 예측에 어려움이 있다. 본 연구에서 시도한 물동량 단위 예측기법은 개별 사업체를 대상으로 유출${\cdot}$입하는 화물 물동량과 종업원수, 매출액, 연면적, 부지면적 등 사업체의 특성을 이용하여 사업체 단위로 화물발생을 예측하는 것으로 공간단위 접근기법보다 간편하고 다른 지역에 적용이 가능한 장점이 있다. 연구의 대상은 수도권에 소재한 사업체이며 매출액을 설명변수로 선정하여 회귀식을 추정하고 모형의 적합성을 검증하였다. 회귀모형의 형태는 지수형으로 매출액이 증가함에 따라 화물발생의 규모도 커지는 특징을 갖는다. 본 연구는 교통 존 단위가 아닌 사업체 단위로 화물발생을 예측하는 보다 미시적인 연구방법을 개발함에 의의가 있다.

AUC 최적화를 이용한 낮은 부도율 자료의 모수추정 (Parameter estimation for the imbalanced credit scoring data using AUC maximization)

  • 이항 분류모형에서 선형 스코어의 함수인 리스크 스코어를 고려하고, 선형 스코어의 계수를 추정하는 문제를 고려한다. 계수를 추정하는 대표적인 방법으로 로지스틱모형을 이용하는 방법과 AUC를 최대화하여 구하는 방법이 있다. AUC 접근방법으로 구한 모수 추정량은 로지스틱모형을 이용한 선형 스코어의 모수의 최대가능도 추정량보다 자료가 로지스틱 가정이 맞지 않는 일반적인 상황에서도 좋은 추정 결과를 보인다. 본 연구에서는 신용평가모형에서 흔히 접하는 정상보다 부도 경우가 현저하게 작은 상태인 낮은 부도율의 자료를 고려하고, 낮은 부도율의 자료에 AUC 접근방법을 적용한다. 부도의 비율이 정상의 비율보다 현저하게 낮은 불균형 자료를 생성하기 위하여 수정된 로짓함수를 연결함수로 사용한다. 낮은 부도율의 상황인 불균형 자료에 AUC 접근방법을 적용한 판별결과가 로지스틱 모형 추정방법보다 동등하거나 더 나은 모수추정 결과를 보이는 것을 확인하였다.

산림 입지토양 환경요인에 의한 상수리나무와 신갈나무의 적지추정 (Estimation of Forest Productive Area of Quercus acutissima and Quercus mongolica Using Site Environmental Variables)

  • This study was conducted to estimate site productivity of Quercus acutissima and Quercus mongolica by four forest climatic zones. We used site environmental variables (28 geographical and pedological factors) and site index as a site productivity indicator from nation-wide 23,315 stands. Based on multiple regression analysis between site index and major environmental variables, the best-fit multivaliate models were made by each species and forest climatic zone. Most of site index prediction models by species were regressed with seven to eight factors, including altitude, relief, soil depth, and soil moisture etc. For those models, three evaluation statistics such as mean difference, standard deviation of difference, and standard error of difference were applied to the test data set for the validation of the results. According to the evaluation statistics, it was found that the models by climatic zones and species fitted well to the test data set with relatively low bias and variation. Also having above middle of site index range, total area of productive sites for the two Quercus spp. estimated by those models would be about 6% of total forest area. Northern temperate forest zone and central temperate forest zone had more productive area than southern temperate forest zone and warm temperate forest zone. As a result, it was concluded that the regressive prediction with site environmental variables by climatic zones and species had enough estimation capability of forest site productivity.

한국의 소득수준 간 의료이용 차이의 계량적 분석: 2015 (Econometric Analysis of the Difference in Medical Use among Income Groups in Korea: 2015)

  • Background: The purpose of this study is to estimate empirically whether there is a difference in medical use among income groups, and if so, how much. This study applies econometric model to the most recent year of Korean Medical Panel, 2015. The model consists of outpatient service and inpatient service models. Methods: The probit model is applied to the model which indicate whether or not the medical care has been used. Two step estimation method using maximum likelihood estimation is applied to the models of outpatient visits, hospital days, and outpatient and inpatient out-of-pocket cost models, with disconnected selection problems. Results: The results show that there was the inequality favorable to the low income group in medical care use. However, after controlling basic medical needs, there were no inequities among income groups in the outpatient visit model and the model of probability of inpatient service use. However, there were inequities favorable to the upper income groups in the models of probability of outpatient service use and outpatient out-of-pocket cost and the models of the number of length of stay and inpatient out-of-pocket cost. In particular, it shows clearly how the difference in outpatient service and inpatient service utilizations by income groups when basic medical needs are controlled. Conclusion: This means that the income contributes significantly to the degree of inequality in outpatient and inpatient care services. Therefore, the existence of medical care use difference under the same medical needs among income groups is a problem in terms of equity of medical care use, so great efforts should be made to establish policies to improve equity among income groups.

다변량 선형회귀분석을 이용한 증발접시계수 산정방법 적용성 검토 (Evaluation of applicability of pan coefficient estimation method by multiple linear regression analysis)

  • 우리나라 11개 기상관측지역의 월별 기상자료가 증발접시계수에 미치는 영향을 분석하고, 증발접시계수 산정을 위한 4가지 형태의 다변량 선형회귀모형의 적용성을 검토하였다. 개발된 증발접시계수 산정모형의 적용성을 평가하기 위해서 기존에 다른 연구자들에 의해서 제안된 6가지의 모형과 비교 평가하였다. 우리나라 11개 기상관측지역에서 증발접시계수는 1, 2, 3, 7, 11, 12월은 기온에 가장 큰 영향을 받고, 다른 월들은 일사량에 가장 큰 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다. 전반적으로 모든 월에서 풍속과 상대습도는 기온이나 일사량과 비교해서 증발접시계수에 큰 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 모든 지역과 월에서 각 지역별로 5개의 독립변수(풍속, 상대습도, 기온, 일조시간과 가조시간의 비, 일사량)를 적용하여 유도된 모형이 가장 양호한 증발량 산정 결과를 보였다. 모형 검증결과에 의하면 다변량 선형회귀분석을 적용하여 증발접시계수를 산정하는 경우 일부 지역과 월에서 제한적으로 적용할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

TOA Estimation Technique for IR-UWB Based on Homogeneity Test

  • This paper deals with the estimation of the time of arrival (TOA) of ultra-wideband signals under IEEE 802.15.4a channel models. The proposed approach is based on a randomness test and consists of determining whether an autoregressive (AR) process modeling an energy frame is random or not by using a distance to measure the randomness. The proposed method uses a threshold that is derived analytically according to a preset false alarm probability. To highlight the effectiveness of the developed approach, simulation setups as well as real data experiments are conducted to assess the performance of the new TOA estimation algorithm. Thereby, the proposed method is compared with the cell averaging constant false alarm rate technique, the threshold comparison algorithm, and the technique based on maximum energy selection with search back. The obtained results are promising, considering both simulations and collected real-life data.

최적 유한 임펄스 응답 평활기를 이용한 미지 입력 추정 기법 (Unknown Input Estimation using the Optimal FIR Smoother)

  • In this paper, an unknown input estimation method via the optimal FIR smoother is proposed for linear discrete-time systems. The unknown inputs are represented by random walk processes and treated as auxiliary states in augmented state space models. In order to estimate augmented states which include unknown inputs, the optimal FIR smoother is applied to the augmented state space model. Since the optimal FIR smoother is unbiased and independent of any a priori information of the augmented state, the estimates of each unknown input are independent of the initial state and of other unknown inputs. Moreover, the proposed method can be applied to stochastic singular systems, since the optimal FIR smoother is derived without the assumption that the system matrix is nonsingular. A numerical example is given to show the performance of the proposed estimation method.

  • To predict the fate of groundwater contaminants, accurate spatially continuous information is needed. Because most field sampling of groundwater contaminants are not conducted spatially continuous manner, a special estimation technique is required to interpolate/extrapolate concentration distributions at unmeasured locations. A practical three-dimensional estimations method for in situ groundwater contaminant concentrations is introduced. It consistas of two general steps: estimation of macroscopic transport process and kriging. Using field data and nonlinear optimization techniques, the macroscopic behavior of the contaminant plume is estimated. A spatial distribution of residuals is obtained by subtracting the macroscopic transport portion from field data, then kriging is applied to estimate residuals at unsampled locations. To reduce outlier effects on obtaining correlations between residual data which are needed for determining variougram models, the R(sub)p-estimator is introduced. The proposed estimation method is applied to a field data set.

Novel Preamble Design for Channel Estimation in FBMC/OQAM Systems

  • The nonorthogonality between the real and imaginary FBMC/OQAM modulated signals complicates the channel estimation (CE) process, and conventional OFDM CE methods cannot be directly applied to FBMC/OQAM. The conventional preamble-based CE schemes in FBMC/OQAM systems are mainly based on the interference approximation method (IAM) to improve the estimation performance. In this paper, we develop a novel preamble structure to improve the CE performance. We exploit the symmetry pattern to cancel interference and take into account the interference weights in this symmetric structure. The conventional preamble and the proposed preamble are compared via simulations in the IEEE 802.22, 3GPP Vehicular A and Pedestrian A channels. Numerical simulation results demonstrate that the proposed preamble can achieve better bit error ratio (BER) and mean squared error (MSE) performance under the three channel models considered.
