Biliary atresia (BA) is an infantile cholestatic disease of progressive obliterative cholangiopathy with varying degrees of damage to both extra and intrahepatic bile ducts due to unknown causes. The diagnostic studies should be done to diagnose or exclude BA without unnecessary delay. Kasai portoenterostomy is the first choice of treatment for bile drainage from microscopic bile ductules present in the portal fibrous mass. The medical management after Kasai portoenterostomy should be done carefully to maintain bile excretion and prevent and treat complications Including cholangitis, hepatic fibrosis, portal hypertension and nutritional problem. The reported five years-survival rates after Kasai portoenterostomy range from 30 to 60 %. About 20 % of all patients undergoing Kasai portoenterostomy during infancy survive into adulthood with their native liver. Even if Kasai portoenterostomy remains as the first line of treatment In BA, liver transplantation serves as a good salvage treatment when portoenterostomy fails or liver function gradually deteriorates after initially successful establishment of bile flow, Overall 5-year survival rate in BA is about 90 % in recent series.

The Honorary Industrial Safety Inspector System, which is with the object of establishment of an autonomic and collaborative industrial accident prevent system, comes into force on 1995 through the administration provision of the Ministry of Labor, one year after it had legal basis. The purpose of this study is to put forward revitalization of the Honorary Industrial Safety Inspector System by using the survey(2005.05) of the Honorary Industrial Safety Inspector in the manufacturing industry. It can be summarized to develop the system as the following: 1) Obligation to the appointment of the Honorary Industrial Safety Inspector and the Extension to be appointed workplace, 2) Cooperation of the Safety/Health Manager with the Honorary Industrial Safety Inspector, 3) Grant the Honorary Industrial Safety Inspector to make the round of the workplaces for the providing guidance to workers, 4) Employers' fulfillment of the Honorary Industrial Safety Inspector's recommendations, 5) Guarantee the Honorary Industrial Safety Inspector instructions and its hours.

Purpose - This study aims to suggest policy directions for small retail markets in Korea by statistical analysis, which would help small retailers who are facing various difficulties. Research design, data, methodology - This study diagnoses the problems faced by small retail industries in Korea based on government statistics. In addition, this study identifies three areas for successful collaboration between the SSMs and traditional markets-information distribution, products, and fair trade. Results - This study makes three recommendations-information distribution, products, and fair trade. This includes activation of the existing mutual collaboration efforts, channels, CSR report writing and publicity, ethical management cooperation seminars, contract systems of no return, establishment of staff outsourcing standards, and support for suppliers' organizations. Conclusions - Our suggestions for a collaborative system (based on the three suggestions) show that collaboration rather than confrontation between large and small markets can lead to a sales increase of 2,258.2 billion Won, which is equivalent to the sales loss in 11 traditional markets in one year in Busan.

The railroad noise has been considered as one of environment pollution and complaints about it have been increasing every year. Therefore, the establishment of railroad noise monitoring network is necessary. It will be designed for monitoring railroad noise, storing data of railroad noise continuously and providing the fundamental knowledge for the measures of railroad noise. For this, we investigated the actual condition and status of railroad noise according to distance around Daejeon, Daegu, Gwangju, and Busan. This paper shows the basic data that will be used for predicting the noise level near railroad in the environmental impact assessment.

The injury accidents in fishing vessels account for $67.2\%$ of all marine injury casualties$(1997\~2001)$ and is on an increasing trend every year. Also, it is remarkable for the injury accidents to be basically caused by human errors. This study aims to investigate the human error of injury accidents in fishing vessels and presents the injury preventing program in them. Human errors were analysed by the methods such as SHELL & Reason Hybrid Model, GEMS Model adopted by International Maritime Organization(IMO). Based on the analysis, the following propositions were made to reduce the fishing vessels accidents by human errors : improvement of hazard awareness and quality of personnel, establishment of safety management system, and enforcement of vessels inspection.

Objectives: To review policy contents which can have a direct impact on health-enhancing physical activity(PA) prevalence in Korea. Methods: The web-search and a literature was undertaken to identify reports and documents related to policy contents of PA. The web-search mainly focused on the web site of the departments and organizations relevant to PA policy and was supplemented by the literature searching. Results: The results of this study are as follows: First, the goal of PA does not match the established number of the Health Plan(HP). Second, the recommended levels of PA is not the same as levels of the year of establishment of the HP. Third, the questions of monitoring tool were inconsistent across years. Conclusions: Therefore, policy contents of physical activity should be improved to ensure accurate PA prevalence in Korea.

This study is aimed at providing an analysis on the re-training needs in for environmental sector as well as on the current status on the employment of technicians in the environmental industry. The questionnaires of 450 technicians employed in 993 environmental businesses are collected. The survey questions were composed mainly of current status on the employment of technicians in the environmental field, specialty and duty in the working place, the relations with a licence, the level of satisfactory to duties and intention to leave hls/her job, difficultles in the working coditions, experiences of training related environmental techniques during a recent year, and the needs of re-training in the environmental industry. The policies on custom-oriented retraining and technical education, on the curricula by sector, on the establishment of retraining.

Following the Five Year Measles Elimination Program, measles has been declared eliminated from the Republic of Korea since 2006. However, there remain challenges related to the surveillance of measles in the postelimination phase. Even though the routine surveillance system has revealed a gradual decrease in the number of reported cases since 2002, 4 resurgences have occurred, notably due to outbreaks. Because vaccine-modified measles is becoming widespread due to high vaccination coverage, conducting laboratory confirmation in each case becomes important. Moreover, susceptible individuals with measles have been identified through seroprevalence studies. Lastly, the efforts to improve the timeliness of measles reporting have led to the establishment of an active laboratory-based surveillance network, which has shortened the interval between diagnosis and notification. In these circumstances, searching for more sensitive and effective surveillance measures is important for maintaining the elimination status and preventing future outbreaks of measles in Korea.

The Geumsan is contiguous to Daejeon and population is decreasing every year. Consequently, the population influx, and securing source of revenue dimensional geographic and environmental benefits of the establishment of a pensions plan for the rural life style pensions research. The result is that Geumsan has a convenient traffic circumstance geographically and is a clean area as the high-level area of solid water system. Also, Geumsan forms the mountainous area whose sea-level elevation reaches to 2.5 times of the Chungcheongnam-do. Consequently, Geumsan has a suitable environment for locating many kinds of pensions like the riverside village style, the mountain village style and the villa style, the country style, the cafe style, experience style, theme style etc. So, Geumsan is found to be a suitable area to host 'rural life style' pensions, because it has wide area, small population and nice environmental conditions.

Flood control and river improvement works are carried out every year for the defense of the flood disaster, it is impossible to avoid the damage when there is a flood exceeding the capacity of hydraulic structures. Therefore, nonstructural counter plans such as the establishment of flood hazard maps, the flood warning systems are essential with structural counter plans. In this study, analysis of the internal inundation effect using rainfall runoff model such as PC-SWMM was applied to Woo Ee experimental stream basin. Also, the design frequency analysis for effects of the external inundation was accomplished by main parameter estimation for conclusive hydraulic routing using HEC-RAS model. Finally, inundated areas for flood hazard map were estimated at Woo Ee downstream basin according to flood frequency using HEC-GeoRAS model linked by Arc View GIS.
