Blockchain enables encrypted, definitive, and immutable records of transactions to be shared and maintained across distributed nodes in peerto-peer networks. Since the establishment of the ISO/TC 307 (Blockchain and distributed ledger technologies (DLT)), Blockchain and DLT have been actively standardized. In this paper, we introduce the international standardization activities and deliverables carried out by ISO, ITU-T, and W3C.

Background : Although a number of studies are related to QA improvement, there are few studies applied various method of QA tools. This study reviewed the availability of general quality assurance(QA) tools according to ten steps in performing quality improvement activities at emergency room of a tertiary teaching hospital which has more than 1,000 beds. Methods : All patients in emergency room from 15th Oct. 1997 to 5th Sep. 1998 were surveyed. The survey data based on the patient's records of emergency room were evaluated according to length of stay, and we tried to identify problems with management of emergency room. To solve the problems, our team applied general QA tools(brainstorming, flow chart, nominal group technique, benchmarking, cause-and-effect diagram, run chart, control chart) to quality improvement activities and discussed the availability of the tools. Results : After the activities such as changes of staffing, the establishment of local area network and chest pain clinic, application of triage and so on, the percentage of patient who had stayed more than six hours was reduced from 56.0% to 46.8%. The mean number of patients per day in emergency room was increased from 49 to 62. But the reporting time for laboratory test was not changed after these activities. Conclusion : Each QA tool has unique benefit and limitation, but we can implement and evaluate the quality improvement activities more scientifically and systematically by applying these tools to practice according to QA ten steps.

This study was designed to analyse the performance and the mechanisms of workers' participation and communications in industrial accident prevention activities leading to the reduction of industrial accidents. This study also aimed to find out the causal relationship influencing the promotion of prevention activities of industrial accidents. Of the manufacturing businesses with more than 5 workers as the population of the survey, a questionnaire was conducted with 2,500 workspaces chosen by stratified sampling. Out of 2500 workspaces, 971 workspaces equipped with industrial safety and health committee were analysed in this study. According to the results of this study, the primary influential factors on safety activities were the management of industrial accidents and the cooperations between supervisors and workers on site. The secondary influential factor was the establishment of industrial safety and health committee. Regarding the effectiveness of industrial accident reduction, -0.01 was shown by workplace safety activities by themselves and -0.09 was shown by participation and communications through indirect safety activities. This indicated workers' participation and communications play an important role in the reduction of industrial accidents. By discovering the clue to the mechanism of the workers' participation and communications, this study is expected to stimulate the reduction of industrial accidents by emphasizing the importance of workers' participation and communications in resolving the safety and health problem in the workplaces.

This study aims to provide quite recent information on the organic agriculture in developed countries such as German, UK, Switzerland and USA and on the current activities of international research institutions of organic agriculture. The establishment and activity of ENOF in EU and ARNOA in Asia, IIRNOA in IFOAM was introduced shortly. I stitute of Organic Agriculture in FAL/Germany and FiBL in Switzerland. OMRI in USA, HDRA in UK and Schweisfurth Foundation in Germany were described. Also the educations in European universities for organic agriculture and the research activities and technical education system for organic farming were described. All of these informations could be useful for the further development of the strategy for Korean organic agriculture in education and research.

In order to evaluate KOrea Multi-Purpose SATellite (KOMPSAT) application products and develop the multi-sensor data application technologies, the Product Validation Site (PVS) will be designed and constructed by Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI). Also KARl has a plan for acquisition of multi-sensor data such as ENVISAT ASAR and Project for On Board Autonomy (PROBA) Compact High Resolution Imaging Spectrometer (CHRIS) data through international cooperation with European Space Agency (ESA). These data will be utilized with KOMPSAT-2 Multi-Spectral Camera (MSC) data. KARI and ESA have identified a mutual interest in creating synergy in the joint exploitation of Earth Observation data for science and applications both in Korea and Europe. This paper summarizes the status of joint experimental studies between KARI and ESA for further applications and presents some expected results from related activities.

Two receiving systems were established at the Asian Center for Research on Remote Sensing (ACRoRS) to receive remote sensing data from NOAA AVHRR and Terra/Aqua MODIS sensors in October 1997 and May 2001, respectively. The data, which has been received in the research center, are very important to support and promote the remote sensing research activities for global environmental issues in Asia. Since the day of the establishment, many research and applications, which used these data, have been conducted. The data sets have been provided to researchers and users in many countries in the region to conduct research, to strengthen the research collaboration and education.

In this study, we offered a way that is to make warehouse industry clustered in Incheon port for getting competitive and high end value added activities like advanced port logistics center considering trend that is changing functions of port and importance of port-hinterland. For this, we studied the existing research about port cluster, the present condition of warehouse industry in Incheon port and importance of value-added logistics activities. Also, we offered needs to build a high value-added and integrated logistics center by examples of advanced port logistics center in Singapore, Netherlands(Rotterdam) and Hongkong. We get the questionnaires for gathering ideas of port logistics industry about to set integrated logistics centers by strategy we offered that is making warehouse logistics clustered.

The purpose of this study is to suggest an environmentally friendly energy system of ecological architecture, with the reference to foreign cases, judge feasibility of it. The ecological architecture is very similar to the natural ecosystem. There is growing international scientific consensus that human activities are having a discernible effect on the global climate. Therefore, with a precise understanding of the concept of ecological approach and concrete perception of the necessity it, an establishment of planning which recognizes the ecological architecture as a organism a same time, ensures diversity, stability and cycling stemmed from the ecosystem to various activities through a ecological structure shall bring the introduction of substantial ecological architecture into domestic realm. As a result, in this Age of industrial science, We are proposing useful materials and suggestion regarding the ecological architecture planning of korean cities, by preestimating the characteristics of a city heading toward the Age of the new ecological environment.

The size and location of spaces need to be changed for teaching & learning activities in open education. This study is aimed to investigate how school facilities should be rearranged when the open education is implemented in elementary school. Some considerations such as enlargement of classroom, establishment of open space, and provision of various self-learning spaces are proposed for the rearrangement. It is also recommended that (1) a space for research and conference for teachers, (2) a multi-learning space to be utilized by connecting general and special classrooms, and (3) an open space for exclusive use of one grade or two grades be established.
