Effect of chiral structure for free vibration of DWCNTs: Modal analysis

  • In this paper, vibration attributes of chiral double-walled carbon nanotubes (CNTs) based on nonlocal elastic shell model have been investigated. The impact of small scale is being perceived by establishing Flügge shell model. The wave propagation is engaged to frame the ruling equations as eigen value system. The influence of nonlocal parameter subjected to different end supports has been overtly examined. A suitable choice of material properties and nonlocal parameter been focused to analyze the vibration characteristics. The new set of inner and outer tubes radii investigated in detail against aspect ratio and length. The dominance of boundary conditions via nonlocal parameter is shown graphically. Whereas for lower aspect ratio the frequencies coincide but as it continues to expand the difference between all respective boundary conditions slightly tend to increase. The results generated furnish the evidence regarding applicability of nonlocal shell model and also verified by earlier published literature.

정수처리공정 시뮬레이터 개발 기초연구 (Basic study on development of drinking water treatment process simulators)

  • Water treatment process simulator is the tool for predicting sequential changes of water quality in a train of unit processes. This predicts the changes through governing equations that represent physicochemical performance of each unit processes with an initial and boundary conditions. Since there is no operational data for the design of a water treatment facility, there is no choice but to predict the performance of the facility by assuming initial and boundary conditions in virtual reality. Therefore, a simulator that can be applied in the design stage of a water treatment facility has no choice but to be built as a numerical analysis model of a deductive technique. In this study, we had conducted basic research on governing equations, inter-process data-flow, and simulator algorithms for the development of simulators. Lastly, this study will contribute to design engineering tool development research in the future by establishing the water treatment theory so that it can be programmed in a virtual world and suggesting a method for digital transformation of the water treatment process.

1910년대 고 지형도를 이용한 행정리 경계 구축에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Construction of Administrative Boundaries Using Old Topographical Map in the 1910s)

  • This study aims to establish administrative boundaries by utilizing digitalized old topographical map. Various problems have arisen due to unclear administrative boundaries. For example, there are various problems such as conflict amongst residents to occupy a larger area, unnecessary waste of administrative power, and difficulty in collecting various data for administrative units (farm area, statistical data, spatial analysis, living ara analysis). Therefore, in this study, an experimental study was conducted to establish administrative boundaries by using an old topographical map containing information on villages before administrative reform in 1914. As a result, the boundaries of towns, towns and villages were largely consistent. In order to divide the administrative boundaries based on the legal district boundaries, the administrative boundaries were established by referring to the contents of village introduction and natural boundaries (roads, rivers, mountain ranges, etc.) provided in towns and villages. However, there was a limit in establishing a precise boundary as it was not possible to secure a high-quality digitalized old topographical map.

Design and Structural Safety Evaluation of Transfer Cask for Dry Storage System of PWR Spent Nuclear Fuel

  • A transfer cask serves as the container for transporting and handling canisters loaded with spent nuclear fuels from light water reactors. This study focuses on a cylindrical transfer cask, standing at 5,300 mm with an external diameter of 2,170 mm, featuring impact limiters on the top and bottom sides. The base of the cask body has an openable/closable lid for loading canisters with storage modules. The transfer cask houses a canister containing spent nuclear fuels from lightweight reactors, serving as the confinement boundary while the cask itself lacks the confinement structure. The objective of this study was to conduct a structural analysis evaluation of the transfer cask, currently under development in Korea, ensuring its safety. This evaluation encompasses analyses of loads under normal, off-normal, and accident conditions, adhering to NUREG-2215. Structural integrity was assessed by comparing combined results for each load against stress limits. The results confirm that the transfer cask meets stress limits across normal, off-normal, and accident conditions, establishing its structural safety.

경계설정에 따른 지적재조사의 조정금 개선방안 연구 (Improvement of Adjusted Funds according to Border Adjustment Method on Cadastral Reform Project)

  • 본 연구에서는 재조사사업이 완료된 세종시 사업지구의 민원 발생 사례를 중심으로 경계 결정방법과 조정금의 전반적인 실태를 분석·평가한 후 지적재조사 조정금 개선방안을 연구하였다. 지적재조사 사업의 조정금 개선방안은 크게 경계조정과 면적허용범위에 따른 개선방안과 제도적인 개선으로 구분하여 제시하였다. 세종시의 경계조정 현황을 분석한 결과 지적재조사 경계조정은 여러 방법으로 경계를 조정하고 있었으며, 이 중에서도 조정이 간단하고 필지를 정형화하는 방법과 도로를 신설하여 맹지 해소를 중심으로 조정이 많이 되고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 이와 같이 경계설정 시 현실경계나 합의경계보다는 소유자와 충분한 협의와 토지소유자의 개인적인 의사를 최대한 반영한 조정경계를 적극적으로 권장하여 효율적이고 합리적인 조정경계를 설정하는 것이 조정금에 관한 분쟁을 최소화할 것으로 판단되었다. 면적허용범위에 따른 개선방안으로는 지적재조사의 결과를 수치데이터로 정확하게 기록 보전하고, 조정금 산정시 공간정보관리법의 면적허용범위 규정 이내일 경우 조정금을 완화 또는 면제해주는 방안의 검토가 필요하다. 마지막으로 조정금과 관련하여 지적재조사 특별법에 토지 소유자에게 본인의 토지를 대상으로 저금리 장기 대출하는 방안을 마련해주어야 하며, 제삼자가 공정하고 객관적으로 가치판단에 의해 산정한 감정평가를 통한 조정금 산정이 필요할 것으로 판단되었다.

  • For the evaluation of wind resources, numerical simulation was carried out as a tool for establishing wind map around the korean peninsula. Initial and boundary condition are given by 3 hourly RDAPS(Regional Data Assimilation and Prediction System) data of KMA(Korea Meteorology Administration) and high resolution terrain elevation land cover(30 seconds) data from USGS(United States Geological Survey). Furthermore, Data assimilation was adopted to improve initial meteorological data with buoy and QuikSCAT seawinds data. The simulation was performed from 2003 to 2006 year. To understand wind data correctly in complex terrain as the korean peninsula, at this research, Wind map was classified 4 categories by distance from coastline and elevation.

Finite element modeling of multiplyconnected three-dimensional areas

  • This article describes the technology for constructing of a multiply-connected three-dimensional area's finite element representation. Representation of finite-element configuration of an area is described by a discrete set that consist of the number of nodes and elements of the finite-element grid, that are orderly set of nodes' coordinates and numbers of finite elements. Corresponding theorems are given, to prove the correctness of the solution method. The adequacy of multiply-connected area topology's finite element model is shown. The merging of subareas is based on the criterion of boundary nodes' coincidence by establishing a simple hierarchy of volumes, surfaces, lines and points. Renumbering nodes is carried out by the frontal method, where nodes located on the outer edges of the structure are used as the initial front.

  • Analysis of two-dimensional secondary flows given by an oscillatory motion of a liquid with a free surface in a rectangular container subject to a linear reciprocating force is performed by numerical and experimental methods. FVM is used for the numerical computation of the two-dimensional flows. We considered the effects of the free-surface properties such as the surface tension and the dilatational viscosity. The boundary-layer analysis as well as an experiment is used in establishing the free surface properties. The secondary flow patterns are visualized by a laser sheet. It is shown that the secondary flow patterns predicted by the numerical methods are in good agreement with the experimental results.

  • "93년 국내 해상교통관제시스템이 도입된 후 해상에서 선박충돌 좌초 사고 발생율은 현격하게 줄어들었다. 그러나 최근 비어선 사고가 해상교통관제센터 관제구역 밖에서 빈번하게 발생되고 있다. 이에 따라 해양경찰에서는 현실적 대응방안 마련을 위해 오는 '23년 11개소 연안VTS 센터 확대 구축 전까지 경비함정을 활용한 이동형 해상교통관제 운영체계에 관한 연구를 국내 최초 시도하고자 한다.

심판변론인협회 설립방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on Established Measures of the Korea Inquiry Counsels Association)

  • 해양안전심판법에 심판변론인협회 설립근거 규정이 1999년에 신설된 이래 10여년이 경과하였으며, 최근에는 사회적 약자 등의 권익을 보호하기 위한 제도들이 해양안전심판법 개정안에 도입됨으로써 본격적으로 해양사고관련자의 심판구조사업이 시행될 것으로 기대되고 있다. 그러나 심판변론인협회는 해양안전심판법에 설립 근거규정이 신설되었음에도 불구하고 10여년이 지난 지금까지 협회설립을 위한 어떠한 조치도 취하고 있지 않은 점은 해양사고관련자의 심판구조사업을 수행하는데 있어서 문제점으로 지적될 수 있다. 특히 심판변론인으로 등록할 수 있는 자의 자격이 다양하기 때문에 이들을 업무영역에 있어서 서로 동질적으로 묶어 줄 수 있는 구심점이 필요한데, 이러한 역할을 할 수 있는 것은 명확한 법적 근거가 있는 심판변론인협회의 설립인 것이며, 이 논문에서는 심판변론인협회 설립방안에 관하여 살펴보았다.
