  • 본 논문에서는 Alamouti, Tarokh, Su와 Xia 등에 의해 도입된 직교 시공간 부호를 포함한 임의의 선형 직교 시공간 블록 부호에 대해, 준정지 레일리 페이딩 채널에서의 정확한 비트 오율 성능을 분석한다. 먼저 1차원 심볼 오류 함순(one-dimensional symbol error function, ODSEF)를 정의한다. 이것은 직교 시공간 블록 부호의 정확한 쌍 오류 확률(pairwise error probability)에 의하여 얻어진다. ODSEF와 Cho 와 Yoon의 QAM에 대한 비트 오율 표현을 이용하여, 직교 시공간 블록 부호에 대한 일반적인 표현을 구하고, 이를 이용하여, 선형 직교 시공간 블록 부호의 정확한 폐형의 비트 오율을 구한다.

SLNR-based Precoder Design in Multiuser Interference Channel with Channel Estimation Error

  • In this paper, we consider a precoder design problem for multiuser interference channel. Most of the conventional schemes for precoder design utilize a signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) as a cost function. However, since the SINR metric of a desired transmitter-receiver pair is a function of precoding vectors of all transmitters in the multiuser interference channel, an analytic closed-form solution is not available for the precoding vector of a desired transmitter that maximizes the SINR metric. To eliminate coupling between the precoding vectors of all transmitters and to find a closed-form solution for the precoding vector of the desired transmitter, we use a signal-to-leakage-plus-noise ratio (SLNR) instead as a cost function because the SLNR at a transmitter is a function of the precoding vector of the desired transmitter only. In addition, channel estimation errors for undesired links are considered when designing the precoding vector because they are inevitable in a multiuser interference channel. In this case, we propose a design scheme for the precoding vector that is robust to the channel estimation error. In the proposed scheme, the precoding vector is designed to maximize the worst-case SLNR. Through computer simulation, we show that the proposed scheme has better performance than the conventional scheme in terms of SLNR, SINR, and sum rate of all users.

  • In inverse synthetic aperture radar (ISAR) imaging, An ISAR autofocusing algorithm is essential to obtain well-focused ISAR images. Traditional methods have relied on the approximation that the phase error due to target motion is a function of the cross-range dimension only. However, in the stepped-frequency radar system, it tends to become a two-dimensional function of both down-range and cross-range, especially when target's movement is very fast and the pulse repetition frequency (PRF) is low. In order to remove the phase error along down-range, this paper proposes a method called SAEM (subarray averaging and entropy minimization) [1] that uses a subarray averaging concept in conjunction with the entropy cost function in order to find target motion parameters, and a novel 2-D optimization technique with the inherent properties of the proposed entropy-based cost function. A well-focused ISAR image can be obtained from the combination of the proposed method and a traditional autofocus algorithm that removes the phase error along the cross-range dimension. The effectiveness of this method is illustrated and analyzed with simulated targets comprised of point scatters.

  • A volumetric error compensation method was stueide with measuring systematic error of a Coordinate Measuring Machine(CMM). The volumetric error equations were proposed for a Moving Bridge type CMM. Using the error equations, error vectors in the measuring volume were corrected by a software method. The CMM was controlled by the compensation program separately in the measuring and moving function of the CMM proving. The linear accuracy of the CMM was measured by the Laser Interferometer and compared with the data before the volumetric error compensation. This method was proved as low cost and effective to reduce the systematic error of the CMM, as no hardware modification is required.

  • 오차확산 하프토닝 기법은 연속계조 영상을 이진영상으로 생성시 우수한 재현성을 보인다. 그러나 표시오차의 특성분석에서 경계정보의 재현성이 다소 떨어지는 특성을 보인다. 이러한 경계정보의 재현성 개선하기 위해 전처리 필터를 적용하는 오차확산 기법을 제안한다. 제안한 전처리 필터는 원영상의 수평 및 수직 방향의 미분값, 필터의 가중치 함수로 구성된다. 첫째, 원영상의 수평 및 수직 방향의 미분값은 현재 화소를 중심으로 하여 $3{\times}3$ 인접화소에 Sobel 연산자를 적용시켜 얻는다. 둘째, 필터의 가중치 함수는 미분값의 크기를 포함하는 함수와 미분값의 부호로 구성된다. 제안한 기법을 적용한 하프토닝 영상은 경계가 강조되어 시각적으로 선명한 결과를 보인다. 원영상과 오차확산된 하프토닝 영상과의 차이(표시오차)를 환상 평균 전력 스펙트럼 밀도를 이용하여 기존의 경계강조 오차확산 알고리즘과 비교한다.

  • In this paper, we propose a region-based segmentation algorithm to extract human face area using a window function and neural networks. Furthermore, we apply the erosion and dilation to remove small error areas. By applying the window function, it is possible to reduce error. In particular, false segmentation of the eye and the lip can be considerably reduced. Experiments show promising results and it is expected that the Proposed method can be applied to video conference and still image compression.

  • Due to the large scale application of software systems, software reliability plays an important role in software developments. In this paper, a software reliability growth model (SRGM) is proposed. The testing time on the right is truncated in this model. The instantaneous failure rate, mean-value function, error detection rate, reliability of the software, estimation of parameters and the simple applications of this model are discussed .

Reliability computation technique for ball bearing under the stress-strength model

  • Stress function of ball bearing is function of multiple stochastic factors and this system is so complex that analytical expression for reliability is difficult to obtain. To address this pressing problem, in this article, we have made an attempt to approximate system reliability of this important item based on reliability bounds under the stress strength setup. This article also provides level of error of this item. Numerical analysis has been adopted to show the closeness between the upper and lower bounds of this item.

  • This paper presents a performance improvement of distributed fuzzy control system by changing the triangular membership function widths according to the input variables.
