  • This paper is a study on the design of adptive filter for QRS complex detection. We propose a simple adaptive algorithm to increase capability of noise cancelation in QRS complex detection with two stage adaptive filter. At the first stage, background noise is removed and at the next stage, only spectrum of QRS complex components is passed. Two adaptive filters can afford to keep track of the changes of both noise and QRS complex. Each adaptive filter consists of prediction error filter and FIR filter. The impulse response of FIR filter uses coefficients of prediction error filter. The detection rates for 105 and 108 of MIT/BIH data base were 99.3% and 97.4% respectively.

  • In this paper, a GNSS interference detection algorithm based on an adaptive fading Kalman filter is proposed to detect a spoofing signal which is one of the threatening GNSS intentional interferences. To detect and mitigate the spoofing signal, the fading factor of the filter is used as a detection parameter. For simulation, the effect of the spoofing signal is modeled by the ramp type bias error of the pseudorange to emulate a smart spoofer and the change of the fading factor value according to ramp type bias error is quantitatively analyzed. In addition, the detection threshold is established to detect the spoofing signal by analyzing the change of the error covariance and the effect of spoofing is mitigated by controlling the Kalman gain of the filter. To verify the performance analysis of the proposed algorithm, various simulations are implemented. Through the results of simulations, we confirmed that the proposed algorithm works well.

  • This paper presents the error performance of 16 star-QAM with diversity reception in microcell systems in the presence of additive white Gaussian noise(AWGN) and cochannel interference. The differential detection of 16 star-QAM is split into phase detection and amplitude detection. This technique can reduce the degradation of error performance which is due to fading and the complexity of receiver. Diversity reception is proposed to improve the degradation of error performance due to fading. Equal gain and maximal ratio combinings were adopted for the phase detection and the amplitude detection, respectively. The performance of 16 star-QAM was evaluated for various of Rician factor K, maximum Doppler frequency f_DT, signal to cochannel interference ratio and diversity branch L.

  • In mobile communication, the most exploratory technology of fifth generation is massive multiple input multiple output (MIMO). The minimum mean square error and zero forcing based linear detectors are used in multiuser detection for MIMO single-carrier frequency division multiple access (SCFDMA). When the received signal is detected and regularization sequence is joined in the equalization of spectral null amplification, these schemes experience an error performance and the signal detection assesses an inversion of a matrix computation that grows into complexity. Ordered successive interference cancelation (OSIC) detection is considered for MIMO SC-FDMA, which uses a posteriori information to eradicate these problems in a realistic environment. To cancel the interference, sorting is preferred based on signal-to-noise ratio and log-likelihood ratio. The distinctiveness of the methodology is to predict the symbol with the lowest error probability. The proposed work is compared with the existing methods, and simulation results prove that the defined algorithm outperforms conventional detection methods and accomplishes better performance with lower complication.

  • This study proposed a procedure to improve the error defection of attached cadastral maps using digital map data. In addition, this study also provided the direction for the accuracy improvement of attached cadastral maps by comparing analysis methods. - such as centroid, Lee Sallee shape index, and area index. The analysis is performed as follows. First, by using centroid measurement, the center point of cadastral maps and attached cadastral maps are compared. Secondly by using Lee Sallee shape measurement, the location accuracy of range area is investigated. Thirdly, by using area measurement, the range area within allowable error scope is verified. Based on analysis, the discrepancy between cadastral maps and the attacked cadastral maps are detected as follows; 98.2% from Lee Sallee shape index, 41.8% from centroid, 15.4% from area index in the whole error.

  • The success of target reconstruction in SAR(Synthetic Aperture Radar) imaging system is greatly dependent on the coherent detection. Primary causes of incoherent detection are uncompensated target or sensor motion, random turbulence in propagation media, wrong path in radar platform, and etc. And these appear as multiplicative phase error to the echoed signal, which consequently, causes fatal degradations such as fading or dislocation of target image. In this paper, we present iterative phase error estimation scheme which uses echoed data in all temporal frequencies. We started with analyzing wave equation for one point target and extend to overall echoed data from the target scene - The two wave equations governing the SAR signal at two temporal frequencies of the radar signal are combined to derive a method to reconstruct the complex phase error function. Eventually, this operation attains phase error correction algorithm from the total received SAR signal. We verify the success of the proposed algorithm by applying it to the simulated spotlight-mode SAR data.

  • Computer-generated holograms (CGH) are the core devices to solve the problem of freeform surface measurement. In view of the overlay error introduced in the manufacturing process of CGH, this paper proposes an evaluation model for analyzing the overlay error of CGH. The detection method of extracting CGH profile information by an ultra-depth of field micro-measurement system is presented. Furthermore, based on the detection method and technical scheme, the effect of overlay error on the wavefront accuracy of CGH can be evaluated.

  • It is important to know phase offsets of PN(Pseudo Noise) sequences in spread spectrum communications since the acquisition is equivalent to making a phase offset between a receiving PN sequence and a PN sequence of local PN generator be identical. In this paper, a phase offset enumeration method for PN sequences with error detection, and its application to the synchronization are proposed. The phase offset enumeration for an n-tuple PN sequence and its error detection are performed when one period of the sequence is received. Once the phase offset of the receiving sequence is calculated, we can easily accomplish the synchronization by initializing shift registers of a local PN generator according to the phase offset value. The mean acquisition time performance of the proposed scheme was derived analytically. Since this synchronization scheme can be realized by using simple circuit and acquires very rapid acquisition in high SNR but shows performance degradation in low SNR, it can be especially useful in indoor and office environments.
