In this thesis, an error resilient video coding algorithm, under the error-prone environment such as wireless communication, is suggested. The suggested algorithm adapts the Classified VQ method for intra imagers that reduces some load by searching similar vectors. The Duplicate Vector Position Code is proposed for the higher compression efficiency and the robust decoding in error environment. As a result, the bitstream encoded by the proposed method is in a CBR(Constant Bit Rate) preventing from error propagation. The experiment that adds practical error to the encoded bitsrteam shows the error-robustness superior to H.263.
Geofencing supports unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) operation by defining stay-in and stay-out regions. National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has developed a prototype of the geofencing function, SAFEGUARD, which prevents stayout region violation by utilizing position estimates. Thus, SAFEGUARD depends on navigation system performance, and the safety risk associated with the navigation system uncertainty should be considered. This study presents a methodology to compute the safety risk assessment-based along-track position error bound under nominal and Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) failure conditions. A Kalman filter system using pseudorange measurements as well as pseudorange rate measurements is considered for determining the position uncertainty induced by velocity uncertainty. The worst case pseudorange and pseudorange rate fault-based position error bound under the GNSS failure condition are derived by applying a Receiver Autonomous Integrity Monitor (RAIM). Position error bound simulations are also conducted for different GNSS fault hypotheses and constellation conditions with a GNSS/INS integrated navigation system. The results show that the proposed along-track position error bounds depend on satellite geometries caused by UAV attitude change and are reduced to about 40% of those of the single constellation case when using the dual constellation.
In order to efficiently collect data, it is essential to locate the facilities and analyze the movement data. The current technology for location collection can collect data using a GPS sensor, but GPS has a strong straightness and low diffraction and reflectance, making it difficult for indoor positioning. In the case of indoor positioning, the location is determined by using wireless network technologies such as Wifi, but there is a problem with low accuracy as the error range reaches 20 to 30 m. In this paper, using BLE 4.2 built in Raspberry Pi, we implement Bluetooth Smart Ready. In detail, a beacon was produced for Advertise, and an experiment was conducted to support the serial port for data transmission/reception. In addition, advertise mode and connection mode were implemented at the same time, and a 3-count gradual algorithm and a quadrangular positioning algorithm were implemented for Bluetooth RSSI error correction. As a result of the experiment, the average error was improved compared to the first correction, and the error rate was also improved compared to before the correction, confirming that the error rate for position measurement was significantly improved.
This study investigated final consonant error characteristics at word-medial position in children with functional articulation disorder. Data was collected from 11 children with functional articulation and 11 normal children, ages 4 to 5. The speech samples were collected from a naming test. Seventy-five words with every possible bi-consonants matrix at the word-medial position were used. The results of this study were as follows : First, percentage of correct word-medial final consonants of functional articulation disorder was lower than normal children. Second, there were significant differences between two groups in omission, substitution and assimilation error. Children with functional articulation disorder showed a high frequency of omission and regressive assimilation error, especially alveolarization in regressive assimilation error most. However, normal children showed a high frequency of regressive assimilation error, especially bilabialization in regressive assimilation error most. Finally, the results of error analysis according to articulation manner, articulation place and phonation type of consonants of initial consonant at word-medial, both functional articulation disorder and normal children showed a high error rate in stop sound-stop sound condition. The error rate of final consonant at word-medial position was high when initial consonant at word-medial position was alveolar sound and alveopalatal sound. Futhermore, when initial sounds were fortis and aspirated sounds, more errors occurred than linis sound was initial sound. The results of this study provided practical error characteristics of final consonant at word-medial position in children with speech sound disorder.
This this paper, we propose vertical Bell laboratories layered space time (V-BLAST) system based on variable rate Low-Density Parity Check (LDPC) codes to improve performance of receiver when QR decomposition interference suppression combined with interference cancellation is used over independent Rayleigh fading channel. The different rate LDPC codes can be made by puncturing some rows of a given parity check matrix. This allows to implement a single encoder and decoder for different rate LDPC codes. The performance can be improved by assigning stronger LDPC codes in lower layer than upper layer because the poor SNR of first detected data streams makes error propagation. Keeping the same overall code rates, the V-BLAST system with different rate LDPC codes has the better performance (in terms of Bit Error Rate) than with constant rate LDPC code in fast fading channel.
This paper presents an empirical analysis of exchange rate volatility, petroleum's import price and industrial production on petroleum imports. The GARCH framework is used to measure the exchange rate volatility. One of the most appealing features of the GARCH model is that it captures the volatility clustering phenomenon. We found one long-run relationship between petroleum imports, import price, industrial production, and exchange rate volatility using Johansen's multivariate cointegration methodology. Since there exists a cointegrating vector, therefore, we employ an error correction model to examine the short-run dynamic linkage, finding that the exchange rate volatility performs a key role in the short-run. This paper also apply impulse-response functions to provide the dynamic responses of energy consumption to the exchange rate volatility. The results show that the response of energy consumption to exchange rate volatility declines at the first month and dies out very quickly.

In this paper, the method of computing demand rate with respect to a transformer capacity is proposed and addressed to predict a future demand rate. The simulation data are taken from switchgears of a real medium voltage transformer. Data taken from the electrical instrument at 22.9 kVY power receiving panels are employed to evaluate the correlation between demand rate and power usage of transformer. It is verified a usefulness with respect to an proposed index of demand rate for transformer by using a least square error of regressive modeling, As a result of investigation and simulation on the spot to a few buildings, it is considered that there is necessity to make a partial amendment of demand rate being applicable currently for electrical energy saving in domestic.

Most multimedia source coders exhibit unequal bit error sensitivity. Efficient transmission system design should therefore incorporate the use of matching unequal error protection (UEP). In this paper, we present and evaluate a flexible space-time coding system with unequal error protection. Multiple transmit and receive antennas and bit-interleaved coded modulation techniques are used combined with rate compatible punctured convolutional codes. A near optimum iterative receiver is employed with a multiple-in multiple-out inverse mapper and a MAP decoder as component decoders. We illustrate how the UEP system gain can be achieved either as a power or bandwidth gain compared to the equal error protection system (EEP) for the identical source and equal overall quality for both the UEP and EEP systems. An example with two/three transmit and two receive antennas using BPSK modulation is given for the block fading channel.
In this paper, a new application method of the Kalman filter to desigin a gyro is proposed. The role of a gyro is the estimation of an input rate with minimal error covariance. The size of the error covariance depends on gyro's parameters, which makes it possible to use the parameters of gyro to minimze the estimation error covariance. Numerical analysis shows that the error covariance becomes smaller as the spin axis momentum becomes larger and the damping coefficient smaller, but production cost must be considered. Through numerical analysis the parameter set for an acceptable - performance gyro with small cost can be selected.

The high computational complexity of deep learning algorithms has led to the development of specialized hardware architectures. However, soft errors (bit flip) may occur in these hardware systems due to voltage variation and high energy particles. Many error correction methods have been proposed to counter this problem. In this work, we analyze an error correction mechanism based on repetition codes and an activation function. We test this method by injecting errors into weight filters and define an ideal error rate range in which the proposed method complements the accuracy of the model in the presence of error.
