선형화 오차에 강인한 확장칼만필터 (An Extended Kalman Filter Robust to Linearization Error)

  • In this paper, a new-type Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) is proposed as a robust nonlinear filter for a stochastic nonlinear system. The original EKF is widely used for various nonlinear system applications. But it is fragile to its estimation errors because they give rise to linearization errors that affect the system mode1 as the modeling errors. The linearization errors are nonlinear functions of the estimation errors therefore it is very difficult to obtain the accurate error covariance of the EKF using the linear form. The inaccurately estimated error covariance hinders the EKF from being a sub-optimal estimator. The proposed filter tries to obtain the upper bound of the error covariance tolerating the uncertainty of the error covariance instead of trying to obtain the accurate one. It treats the linearization errors as uncertain modeling errors that can be handled by the robust linear filtering. In order to be more robust to the estimation errors than the original EKF, the proposed filter minimizes the upper bound like the robust linear filter that is applied to the linear model with uncertainty. The in-flight alignment problem of the inertial navigation system with GPS position measurements is a good example that the proposed robust filter is applicable to. The simulation results show the efficiency of the proposed filter in the robustness to initial estimation errors of the filter.

  • A precise open-loop positioning system using linear pulse motor has been developed. The system is operated in a microstepping mode by controlling the electric current. One step of 508 .mu.m (tooth pitch of the linear pulse motor) is divided into 508 micro-steps equally. The displacement is measured with a system using a Fiezeau-type interferometer. Periodical positioning error with a period of the tooth pitch was observed in this system. Therefore, the position is corrected using the error. The error is stored into computer in advance, and the microstep current is corrected on basis of the stored data. Although the positioning error of the system without the correction was .+-.4.5 .mu.m, that with the correction was decreased to .+-.1.0 .mu.m.

직선 이송축의 3자유도 오차 보정을 위한 미세 구동 스테이지 개발 및 성능 평가 (Development and Performance Evaluation of Fine Stage for 3-DOF Error Compensation of a Linear Axis)

  • A fine stage is developed for the 3-DOF error compensation of a linear axis in order to improve the positioning accuracy. This stage is designed as a planar parallel mechanism, and the joints are based on a flexure hinge to achieve ultra-precise positioning. Also, the effect of Abbe's offsets between the measuring and driving coordinate systems is minimized to ensure an exact error compensation. The mode shapes of the designed stage are analyzed to verify the desired 3-DOF motions, and the workspace and displacement of a piezoelectric actuator (PZT) for compensation are analyzed using forward and inverse kinematics. The 3-DOF error of a linear axis is measured and compensated by using the developed fine stage. A marked improvement is observed compared to the results obtained without error compensation. The peak-to-valley (PV) values of the positional and rotational errors are reduced by 92.6% and 91.3%, respectively.

  • As the technologies of electronic device have advanced these days, most of mechanical systems are designed with electronic control unit to take advantage of control parameter adaption to operating conditions and firmware flexibilities as well. On-board diagnosis, which detects the system malfunction and identifies potential source of error with its own diagnostic criteria, and fail-safe that can switch the mode of operation in view of recognized error characteristics enables easy maintenance and troubleshooting as well as system protection. This paper dealt with the development of diagnosis and fail-safe function for proportional flow control valve. All type of errors related to valve control system components are investigated and assigned to a specific hexadecimal codes. Cumulative error detection algorithm is applied in order for the sensitivity and reliability to be appropriate. Embedded simulator which runs simultaneously with system program provides the virtual error simulation environment for expeditious development of error detection algorithm. The diagnosis function was verified both with solenoid valve and embedded simulator test and it will enhance the valve control system monitoring function.

  • 본 논문에서는 차량용 반도체에서 CRC 검사를 통해 전송 오류를 검출할 수 있는 SPI 버스 및 I2C 버스를 제안한다. 차량용 반도체에서는 전송에 오류가 발생하여 잘못된 값이 전달되는 경우 치명적인 결과가 발생한다. LIN 버스, CAN 버스와는 다르게 SPI와 I2C 등 구조가 간단한 직렬 인터페이스에서는 전송 오류를 검출하는 방법이 없기 때문에 직렬 인터페이스에 적용할 전송 오류 검출방법을 제시할 필요가 있다. 본 논문에서는 SPI 및 I2C의 통신 프로토콜에 CRC 검사를 사용하여 전송 오류를 검출하는 방법을 제시하고 이를 FPGA로 설계하여 효과적으로 오류를 검출할 수 있음을 검증하였다.

  • The military has been putting great efforts into applying data communication on existing voice communication systems being used in NCW(Network Centric Warfare). Data communication will be an effective choice in one of many effort to yield a minimum kill chain, comparing to legacy voice communications, when tactical units conduct their missions. However, the required budget will be enormous, in case of the replacement of a lot of legacy communication systems with new one. As a cost-effective alternative, the tactical data communication systems using the conventional radio systems instead of the development of new radio systems has been proposed. It is mandatory, though, to ensure QoS while maintaining data communication by making use of legacy radio systems already in use. This paper focuses on the performance issues experimented and analyzed for tactical data communication through the legacy radio systems as the first step towards guaranteed QoS. We have conducted various experiments such as the transmission error rate on certain tactical messages, performance evaluation of redundant transfers, the relationship between the transmission frame size and rate of error, the identification of error points in the transmission frame, and techniques to reduce the errors in both hopping and non-hopping modes. As a result of the performance experiments, The adaptive communication module which decides the redundant transmission or the Forward Error Correction(FEC) technique by analyzing channel status and current transmission status(hopping/non-hopping) of the legacy radio should be designed. the FEC technique in non-hopping, and the redundant transmission technique in hopping mode was recommended from the result of experiment with the frame size is 20bytes in non-hopping and 10Bytes frame size in hopping mode.

Implementation of Self-adaptive System using the Algorithm of Neural Network Learning Gain

  • The neural network is currently being used throughout numerous control system fields. However, it is not easy to obtain an input-output pattern when the neural network is used for the system of a single feedback controller and it is difficult to obtain satisfactory performance with when the load changes rapidly or disturbance is applied. To resolve these problems, this paper proposes a new mode to implement a neural network controller by installing a real object for control and an algorithm for this, which can replace the existing method of implementing a neural network controller by utilizing activation function at the output node. The real plant object for controlling of this mode implements a simple neural network controller replacing the activation function and provides the error back propagation path to calculate the error at the output node. As the controller is designed using a simple structure neural network, the input-output pattern problem is solved naturally and real-time learning becomes possible through the general error back propagation algorithm. The new algorithm applied neural network controller gives excellent performance for initial and tracking response and shows a robust performance for rapid load change and disturbance, in which the permissible error surpasses the range border. The effect of the proposed control algorithm was verified in a test that controlled the speed of a motor equipped with a high speed computing capable DSP on which the proposed algorithm was loaded.

  • 본 논문에서는 고차 불확실 시스템의 빠르고 견실한 추적을 위해 시변 다중근을 가지는 새로운 슬라이딩평면을 제안한다. 다중근은 슬라이딩 모드에서의 폐루프 시변 시스템을 안정화시키면서 목표로 하는 근을 향해 이동한다. 초기 다중근은 초기 오차에 대해 평면의 평행이동 거리가 최소화되도록 얻어지고 평면이 초기오차를 지나도록 절편이 생성된다. 허용되는 입력 하에서 빠른 평면의 평행이동과 다중근의 이동은 오차 수렴 속도가 증가될 수 있게 해준다. 제안되는 슬라이딩 모드 제어는 오차가 초기 시간부터 항상 슬라이딩 평면에 머물도록 하여 시스템은 매개변수 불확실성과 외란에 대해 더욱 둔감하게 해준다. 모의 실험에서 기존 방식과의 비교를 통해 제안된 타당성이 입증된다.

토크 각도제어기법을 적용한 스테핑 전동기의 위치제어 (Position Control of Stepping Motor using Torque Angle Control Scheme)

  • 본 논문에서는 스테핑 전동기의 고속 위치제어기를 제안하였다. 제안된 위치제어기는 폐루프 및 오픈루프 제어모드를 모두 가지고 있으며, 위치 제어를 위해 직접 토크 각도를 제어하는 방식을 적용하였다. 제안된 스테핑 전동기의 위치제어기는 고속 운전상태에서 위치결정 오차를 감소시키기 위해 메모리에 속도에 따른 내장된 토크 각도와 PI 제어기를 통하여 토크각도를 결정하는 폐루프 제어모드로 동작한다. 제안된 폐루프 제어모드에서 메모리에 내장된 토크각도는 선행적으로 속도에 따른 전동기의 토크각도를 룩-업 테이블로 저장하여 제어량을 결정하게 되므로, 빠른 응답특성을 가지게 되며, 부하 및 관성에 따른 위치오차는 PI 제어기의 제어량에 의해 보상되어질 수 있다. 또한, 저속 운전상태와 정지상태에서는 3가지로 구분된 오픈루프 제어모드가 각각 잔여 위치오차를 보정하게 되며, 급속 정지상태에서의 다이나믹 브레이크 동작을 지원하게 된다. 제안된 위치제어기는 2상 스테핑 전동기의 실시험을 통하여 그 성능을 검증하였다.

Modeling and Control Design of Dynamic Voltage Restorer in Microgrids Based on a Novel Composite Controller

  • A Dynamic Voltage Restorer (DVR) model is proposed to eliminate the short-term voltage disturbances that occur in the grid-connected mode, the switching between grid-connected mode and the stand-alone mode of a Microgrid. The proposed DVR structure is based on a conventional cascaded H-bridge multilevel inverter (MLI) topology; a novel composite control strategy is presented, which could ensure the compensation ability of voltage sag by the DVR. Moreover, the compensation to specified order of harmonic is added to implement effects that zero-steady error compensation to harmonic voltage in specified order of the presented control strategy; utilizing wind turbines-batteries units as DC energy storage components in the Microgrid, the operation cost of the DVR is reduced. When the Microgrid operates under stand-alone mode, the DVR can operate on microsource mode, which could ease the power supply from the main grid (distribution network) and consequently be favorable for energy saving and emission reduction. Simulation results validate the robustness and effective of the proposed DVR system.
