On any semigroup S, there is an equivalence relation ${\phi}^S$, called the locally equivalence relation, given by a ${\phi}^Sb{\Leftrightarrow}aSa=bSb$ for all $a$, $b{\in}S$. In Theorem 4 [4], Tiefenbach has shown that if ${\phi}^S$ is a band congruence, then $G_a$ := $[a]_{{\phi}^S}{\cap}(aSa)$ is a group. We show in this study that $G_a$ := $[a]_{{\phi}^S}{\cap}(aSa)$ is also a group whenever a is any idempotent element of S. Another main result of this study is to investigate the relationships between $[a]_{{\phi}^S}$ and $aSa$ in terms of semigroup theory, where ${\phi}^S$ may not be a band congruence.
The purpose of this study was to investigate new method to incorporate demographic variables into demand models through modifying the theory in an attempt to capture interactions between individuals within a household. The method which utilizes household equivalence scale was very attractive in the sense that it provide less restrictive implications for the behavior model, and thus, the estimated expenditure elasticities might be more realistic because demographic variables are more elaborately controlled. the household equivalence scaled was developed using Lagrange Interpolation Polynomials. Then the empirical model with household equivalence scale was derived based on the model of Deaton and Muellbauer. For its empirical utilization, Consumer Expenditure survey(CES) conducted by the bureau of Labor Statistics(BLS) was used.

In this paper, we propose the concepts of asymptotic equivalence, asymptotic statistical equivalence, lacunary statistical equivalence of order (α, β) in sense of Wijsman. We also make an effort to define these concepts by using modulus function with respect to ideal ${\mathcal{I}}$ and examine some algebraic and topological properties related to these concepts.
The Green's equivalence relations have played a fundamental role in the development of semigroup theory. They are concerned with mutual divisibility of various kinds, and all of them reduce to the universal equivalence in a group. Boolean matrices have been successfully used in various areas, and many researches have been performed on them. Studying Green's relations on a monoid of boolean matrices will reveal important characteristics about boolean matrices, which may be useful in diverse applications. Although there are known algorithms that can compute Green relations, most of them are concerned with finding one equivalence class in a specific Green's relation and only a few algorithms have been appeared quite recently to deal with the problem of finding the whole D or J equivalence relations on the monoid of all $n{\times}n$ Boolean matrices. However, their results are far from satisfaction since their computational complexity is exponential-their computation requires multiplication of three Boolean matrices for each of all possible triples of $n{\times}n$ Boolean matrices and the size of the monoid of all $n{\times}n$ Boolean matrices grows exponentially as n increases. As an effort to reduce the execution time, this paper shows an isomorphism between the R relation and L relation on the monoid of all $n{\times}n$ Boolean matrices in terms of transposition. introduces theorems based on it discusses an improved algorithm for the J relation computation whose design reflects those theorems and gives its execution results.

Lumped damage mechanics (LDM) is a recent nonlinear theory with several applications to civil engineering structures, such as reinforced concrete and steel buildings. LDM apply key concepts of classic fracture and damage mechanics on plastic hinges. Therefore, the lumped damage models are quite successful in reproduce actual structural behaviour using concepts well-known by engineers in practice, such as ultimate moment and first cracking moment of reinforced concrete elements. So far, lumped damage models are based in the strain energy equivalence hypothesis, which is one of the fictitious states where the intact material behaviour depends on a damage variable. However, there are other possibilities, such as the energy equivalence hypothesis. Such possibilities should be explored, in order to pursue unique advantages as well as extend the LDM framework. Therewith, a lumped damage model based on the energy equivalence hypothesis is proposed in this paper. The proposed model was idealised for reinforced concrete structures, where a damage variable accounts for concrete cracking and the plastic rotation represents reinforcement yielding. The obtained results show that the proposed model is quite accurate compared to experimental responses.

In the actual sound environmental systems, it seems to be essentially difficult to exactly evaluate a whole probability distribution form of its response fluctuation, owing to various types of natural, social and human factors. Up to now, we very often reported two kinds of unified probability density expressions in the standard expansion from of Hermite and Laguerre type orthonormal series to generally evaluate non-Gaussian, non-linear correlation and/or non-stationary properties of the fluctuation phenomenon. However, in the real sound environment, there still remain many actual problems on the necessity of improving the above two standard type probability expressions for practical use. In this paper, first, a central point is focused on how to find a new probabilistic theory of practically evaluating the variety and complexity of the actual random fluctuations, especially through introducing some equivalence transformation toward two standard probability density expressions mentioned above in the expansion from of Hermite and Laguerre type orthonormal series. Then, the effectiveness of the proposed theory has been confirmed experimentally too by applying it to the actual problems on the response probability evaluation of various sound insulation systems in an acoustic room.
In this paper, we provide the algebraic foundations to the theory of relative $\ell$$_1$ homology. In particular, we prove that $\ell$$_1$ homology of topological spaces, both for the absolute case and for the relative case, depends only on their fundamental groups. We also provide a .proof of Gromov's Equivalence theorem for $\ell$$_1$ homology, stated by Gromov without proof [4].
For a ring R with 1, the higher K-theory of Quillen is defined by the higher homotopy groups of the plus construction of the general linear group of R. On the other hand, the Volodin K-theory is defined by the higher homotopy groups of the Volodin space. In this paper we show that these two K-theories are equivalent. We show that the Volodin space is a homotopy fiber of the acyclic map from BGL(R) to its plus construction.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the measurement equivalence and to suggest application ways in teaching aptitude and personality test results for pre-service mathematics teachers between a graduate school of education and a college of education. This study analyzed the scores of the teaching aptitude and personality test of 36 pre-service mathematics teachers enrolled in a graduate school of education and 111 pre-service mathematics teachers in a college of education by performing a multivariate generalizability analysis. The main results were as follows. First, graduate's pre-service mathematics teachers had a higher level of teaching aptitude and personality than that of college's pre-service mathematics teachers based on the total scores. In addition, graduate's pre-service mathematics teachers had higher levels of teaching aptitude and personality than those of college's pre-service mathematics teachers except for a creativity application domain based on the sub-domain scores. Second, cognitive domains were measured more precisely but affective domains were measured less precisely for graduate's pre-service mathematics teachers than for college's pre-service mathematics teachers. Third, regardless of school levels, Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ values, which might be overestimated by applying the classical test theory, were higher than dependability coefficients. Fourth, this study showed a somewhat negative result in ensuring the measurement equivalence for a problem solving exploration domain. However, regardless of school levels, this study indicated that the overall measurement was generally reliable on composite scores. Based on these results, it was confirmed that multivariate generalizability methodologies' approach can be useful for exploring the measurement equivalence issues. Finally, this study suggests how to utilize the results of the test, how to apply a multivariate generalizability analysis for detecting the measurement equivalence, and how to develop future research based on limitations.
To study a deformation of a digital space from the viewpoint of digital homotopy theory, we have often used the notions of a weak k-deformation retract [20] and a strong k-deformation retract [10, 12, 13]. Thus the papers [10, 12, 13, 16] firstly developed the notion of a strong k-deformation retract which can play an important role in studying a homotopic thinning of a digital space. Besides, the paper [3] deals with a k-deformation retract and its homotopic property related to a digital fundamental group. Thus, as a survey article, comparing among a k-deformation retract in [3], a strong k-deformation retract in [10, 12, 13], a weak deformation k-retract in [20] and a digital k-homotopy equivalence [5, 24], we observe some relationships among them from the viewpoint of digital homotopy theory. Furthermore, the present paper deals with some parts of the preprint [10] which were not published in a journal (see Proposition 3.1). Finally, the present paper corrects Boxer's paper [3] as follows: even though the paper [3] referred to the notion of a digital homotopy equivalence (or a same k-homotopy type) which is a special kind of a k-deformation retract, we need to point out that the notion was already developed in [5] instead of [3] and further corrects the proof of Theorem 4.5 of Boxer's paper [3] (see the proof of Theorem 4.1 in the present paper). While the paper [4] refers some properties of a deck transformation group (or an automorphism group) of digital covering space without any citation, the study was early done by Han in his paper (see the paper [14]).
