This paper presents a model-free system based on a framework of a backstepping sliding mode control (BSMC) with a radial basis function neural network (RBFNN) and adaptive mechanism for electro-hydraulic systems (EHSs). First, an EHS mathematical model was dedicatedly derived to understand the system behavior. Based on the system structure, BSMC was employed to satisfy the output performance. Due to the highly nonlinear characteristics and the presence of parametric uncertainties, a model-free approximator based on an RBFNN was developed to compensate for the EHS dynamics, thus addressing the difficulty in the requirement of system information. Adaptive laws based on the actor-critic neural network (ACNN) were implemented to suppress the existing error in the approximation and satisfy system qualification. The stability of the closed-loop system was theoretically proven by the Lyapunov function. To evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm, proportional-integrated-derivative (PID) and improved PID with ACNN (ACPID), which are considered two complete model-free methods, and adaptive backstepping sliding mode control, considered an ideal model-based method with the same adaptive laws, were used as two benchmark control strategies in a comparative simulation. The simulated results validated the superiority of the proposed algorithm in achieving nearly the same performance as the ideal adaptive BSMC.

According to the results of a survey by Boeing, LOC-I (Loss of Control in Flight) was the highest in the number of deaths by fatality accident category in the past 10 years from 2012 to 2021, and the number of deaths worldwide due to LOC-I accidents was 757. It turned out to be the biggest cause of aircraft fatalities, with a figure close to twice the sum of UNK (Unknown or Undetermined), which is the 2nd place, and CFIT (Controlled Flight Into or Toward Terrain), which is the 3rd place. This study set six scenarios related to spatial disorientation that may occur during sensory-dependent flight targeting student pilots and instructor pilots at domestic designated specialized educational institutions using flight simulation training equipment, and in each scenario, the pilot's. The need for SDRT (Spatial Disorientation Recovery Training) is verified by analyzing the flight experience and recovery ability by qualification, and SDRT is repeatedly performed to verify and present the training cycle and time.

Electronic equipments comprised of high density components with various packaging types have been recently applied to a satellite. Therefore, to guarantee high reliability of electrical equipment, a design approach, which can reduce the development period and cost through an early diagnosis in potential risks of failure, should be established. In the previous research, the reliability assesment of the electronic equipments have based on Steinberg's fatigue failure theory. However, this theory was not enough for further investigation of life prediction and reliability of the electronic equipments comprised of various sizes and packaging types due to its theoretical limitations and analysis results sensitivity with regard to different modeling technic. In that case, if detailed finite element model is established, aforementioned problems can be readily solved. However, this approach might arise disadvantage of spending much time. In this paper, to establish strategy for high reliability design of electronic equipment, we performed mechanical reliability evaluation of CCB (Camera Controller Box) at qualification level based on the approach using Sherlock unlike design techniques applied to existing business.

To train the manpower to meet the requirements of the industrial field, the introduction of the National Qualification Frameworks(hereinafter referred to as NQF) was determined in 2001 by National Competency Standards(hereinafter referred to as NCS) centrally of the Office for Government Policy Coordination. Also, for landscape architecture in the construction field, the "NCS -Landscape Architecture" pilot was developed in 2008 to be test operated for 3 years starting in 2009. Especially, as the 'realization of a competence-based society, not by educational background' was adopted as one of the major government projects in the Park Geun-Hye government(inaugurated in 2013) the NCS system was constructed on a nationwide scale as a detailed method for practicing this. However, in the case of the NCS developed by the nation, the ideal job performing abilities are specified, therefore there are weaknesses of not being able to reflect the actual operational problem differences in the student level between universities, problems of securing equipment and professors, and problems in the number of current curricula. For soft landing to practical curriculum, the process of clearly analyzing the gap between the current curriculum and the NCS must be preceded. Gap analysis is the initial stage methodology to reorganize the existing curriculum into NCS based curriculum, and based on the ability unit elements and performance standards for each NCS ability unit, the discrepancy between the existing curriculum within the department or the level of coincidence used a Likert scale of 1 to 5 to fill in and analyze. Thus, the universities wishing to operate NCS in the future measuring the level of coincidence and the gap between the current university curriculum and NCS can secure the basic tool to verify the applicability of NCS and the effectiveness of further development and operation. The advantages of reorganizing the curriculum through gap analysis are, first, that the government financial support project can be connected to provide quantitative index of the NCS adoption rate for each qualitative department, and, second, an objective standard is provided on the insufficiency or sufficiency when reorganizing to NCS based curriculum. In other words, when introducing in the subdivisions of the relevant NCS, the insufficient ability units and the ability unit elements can be extracted, and the supplementary matters for each ability unit element per existing subject can be extracted at the same time. There is an advantage providing directions for detailed class program and basic subject opening. The Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Employment and Labor must gather people from the industry to actively develop and supply the NCS standard a practical level to systematically reflect the requirements of the industrial field the educational training and qualification, and the universities wishing to apply NCS must reorganize the curriculum connecting work and qualification based on NCS. To enable this, the universities must consider the relevant industrial prospect and the relation between the faculty resources within the university and the local industry to clearly select the NCS subdivision to be applied. Afterwards, gap analysis must be used for the NCS based curriculum reorganization to establish the direction of the reorganization more objectively and rationally in order to participate in the process evaluation type qualification system efficiently.
Objectives: Bioaerosols released by treating organic-waste resources cause a variety of environmental and hygiene problems. The objective of this study was to investigate the distribution characteristics of the airborne bacteria emitted from a pig manure composting plant, a principal site for organic-waste resource facilities. Methods: Three types of pig manure composting plant were selected based on fermentation mode: screw type, rotary type and natural-dry type. Each site was visited and investigated on a monthly basis between September 2009 and August 2010. A total of 36 air samplings were obtained from the pig manure composting plants. The air sampling equipment was a six-stage cascade impactor. Quantification and qualification of airborne bacteria in the air samples was performed by agar culture method and identification technique, respectively. Results: The mean concentrations of airborne bacteria in pig manure composting plant were 7,032 (${\pm}1,496$) CFU $m^{-3}$ for screw type, 3,309 (${\pm}1,320$) CFU $m^{-3}$ for rotary type, and 5,580 (${\pm}1,106$) CFU $m^{-3}$ for natural dry type. The screw type pig manure composting plant showed the highest concentration of airborne bacteria, followed by the natural dry type and the rotary type. The ratio of respirable to total airborne bacteria was approximately 40-60%. The predominant genera of airborne bacteria identified were Micrococcus spp., Staphylococcus spp. and Escherichia spp. Conclusion: Monthly levels of airborne bacteria were highest in August and lowest in November regardless of fermentation mode. There was no significant correlation relationship between airborne bacteria and environmental factors such as temperature, relative humidity and particulate matters in pig manure composting plants.

One of the main problems with gaseous fire extinguishers is the decrease in fire suppression capability due to the leakage of the fire extinguishing agents, either naturally or caused by obsolete equipment. Therefore, in this study, a real-time detector module for monitoring pressure leakages was developed and an assessment on its performance was carried out. Currently, there are no domestic or global standards for testing pressure leakage detection systems. Therefore, similar global standards, such as ISO 7240 and FM 1421, and the domestic law on "Receiver type-approval and technical standards for product inspection" were used as a reference for assessing the performance of the newly developed module. Its basic performance was assessed by applying compressed air to the module, and, as a result, the minimum working pressure was identified as 0.3 bar. Its environmental qualification was carried out to confirm the proper functioning of the module in different climates and the module was confirmed to function properly at both high ($50^{\circ}C$) and low ($-10^{\circ}C$) temperatures.

Some two years ago our company undertook a project on manufacturing network rationalization to maximize competitiveness through continuous improvement in manufacturing efficiency. One key outcome was the recognition of the benefits that could be derived from timely application of new technology or novel use of existing technologies and even more importantly the need to develop company wide strategies to maximize the impact of such applications. As a direct result an exercise was undertaken to identify the ten most promising technologies from a list of literally hundreds seen as having the capability of making a rapid impact on the manufacturing initiative. One of the outcomes of this exercise was the identification of Near Infrared Spectroscopy as a pivotal technology for improving process understanding, performance, and control to deliver consistent product quality cost effectively with broad applicability across our product range. While NIR had been in use in targeted areas on some of our sites for some years our new challenge was to develop a strategy to extend NIRs application, initially over 17 manufacturing sites, while concurrently expanding the NIR skill base company wide to ensure that the return on initial investment could be further maximized as shared applications across the remaining sites as required. This presentation will provide an overview of how life cycle based user requirement specifications were developed covering: ㆍSpectrophotometers ㆍSample interfaces ㆍSoftware ㆍEquipment and Software qualification ㆍCalibration transfer ㆍ Ease of developing effective user interfaces and control for applications transferred to a production area ㆍUser training ㆍWorld wide support The presentation will also describe the process adopted for vendor selection to ensure maximum utilization of the existing company wide NIR skill base and its future development to expedite applications of the technology in development, quality control and production areas.

Since it would be almost impossible to recover and/or repair the satellite in space once it has been launched, a detailed analysis and design, manufacturing using the high quality workmanship, and qualification and acceptance tests in space-simulation environments are necessary for all satellite components prior to launch. Even though these efforts arc made, the failure can still occur. Therefore, redundancy should be considered in the satellite design for continuous operations in preparation for part or equipment failure. In this paper, the reliability analysis of the transponder, which is a payload of Communications & Broadcasting Satellite being developed by ETRI, was performed and compared for various design cases with different redundancies to find the optimal design. The optimal design has been finalized by investigating how the redundant components are composed from the viewpoint of technical performance measures, such as reliability, cost, schedule, and mass.
