  • The purpose of this study is to develop an inorganic filling adhesive using MKP and borax based on Dead-burn magnesia and fly ash. First, basic experiments was conducted to derive the proper addition rate of MKP. And this experiment was carried out according to addition ratio of borax. The test items are measured for pot life, flexural strength, compressive strength, adhesive strength, tensile strength, ratio of temperature change, ratio of hardening shrinkage, radon gas and formaldehyde emission. As a result, the proper addition rate of phosphate was 35%. The pot time is about 10minutes, 15minutes and 25minutes according to addition rate of borax. The flexural strength and compressive strength were obtained at 12hours for minimum flexural strength of 8.0MPa and minimum compressive strength of 31.0MPa. The tensile strength was the least 4.1MPa, and the ratio of hardening shrinkage was maximum 2.4% and ratio of heat change was maximum - 0.3%, which satisfied all of the quality standards of 'KS F 4923' (epoxy resin for repairing concrete structures). Both Radon gas and formaldehyde emission was not detected.

  • In this study, the experimental study has been performed by varying the polarization of the electric field and impact force to check the piezoelectric characteristics of piezoelectric paint sensor. Piezoelectric paint sensor used in this study is composed of epoxy resin with a hardener and PNN-PZT powder in 1:1 weight ratio. The dimensions of the paint sensor specimen are $40{\times}40{\times}1mm^3$ and regular specimens were made using a mold. The voids are removed from the specimen in the vacuum desiccator. Both upper side and bottom side of the paint sensor were coated with silver paste for making an electrode and then dried at room temperature for a day. The poling treatment has been carried out under controlled conditions of the electric field in order to check the effect of piezoelectric sensitivities, while the poling temperature was fixed at room temperature and the poling time was set to 30 min. The piezoelectric sensitivities have been measured by comparing output voltage from paint sensor with output force from impact hammer when the impact hammer hits the paint sensor. In result, the effect of the electric field has been evaluated for the sensitivity and describe the result.

  • The standing Buddha named Taehwa 4 yew in the Jincheon were sculptured with rock cliff of the dark grey shale. Front of the Buddha statue shows $N40^{\circ}W$ strike with nearly vertical dip toward the back side. Rock blocks of the Buddha statue well developed with bedding and laminations whereas rock surface distributed into the various irregular discontinuities. Sculptured lines of the Buddha were uncertain because of degradation and exfoliations on the rock surface. The surface near the Buddha statue is highly contaminated with lichen and mosses, and accelerate physical and biological weathering owing to the roots of weed and bush along the fracture systems. For the conservational treatment, we treated with primary wet cleaning by air gun and secondary cleaning treatment using distilled water. Separated rock surface and fractured parts fasten and/or fill up the boundaries of the rock blocks using epoxy resin for conservation of rock properties. Some brittle surface was treatment with water repellent consolidant of ethyl silicates, and heterogeneous surface carried out color matching by acrylic pigments. Upper part of the Buddha statue dig out small ditch for rain water drainage, and near surface of the Buddha statue treat removal works for lichen, weeds and bush. The duration capacity of the Buddha constituting rocks are degraded by various weathering factors, therefore we suggest that this Buddha statue have need to do long term monitoring and synthetic conservation researches.

  • The purpose of this study was to compare the marginal fit of all ceramic crowns prepared from alumina slip casting, which is consistent with the conventional In-ceram system, and those fabricated from alumina tapes which is currently under development in an effort to alleviate complexities involved in the forming procedure of the In-ceram crown core. All ceramic crowns, made of In-ceram(slip casting) and alumina tapes(Doctor blade casting), were prepared with $90^{\circ}\;and\;135^{\circ}$ shoulder margins. The crowns were cemented with a glass ionomer cement and embeded in epoxy resin. The embedded crowns were sectioned faciolingually and mesiodistally and marginal discrepancies and marginal gaps were measured under the Measurescope MM II. The measurements were analyzed using Wilcoxon rank sum test and Kruskal-Wallis test and the results were as follows: 1. In the case of $90^{\circ}$ shoulder margin, the combined marginal discrepancies and marginal gaps were $78.3{\mu}m\;and\;44.4{\mu}m$ respectively, for the all ceramic crowns fabricated using the alumina tapes. In comparison, the values were $65{\mu}m\;and\;25.5{\mu}m$ for the In-ceram crowns. For the marginal gaps a statistical difference existed (p<0.05) but no significant difference was observed for the marginal discrepancy (p>0.05). 2. In the case of $135^{\circ}$ shoulder margin, the combined marginal discrepancy and marginal gaps were $82.1{\mu}m\;and\;40.2{\mu}m$ respectively, for the all ceramic crowns formed with the tapes. As compared with the marginal discrepancy and gaps of the $90^{\circ}$ shoulder margin in the fabricated from the alumina tapes, no significant statistical differencies were discerned in both cases (p>0.05). 3. There was no statistically significant difference in the fits among four locations around the margins of the all ceramic crowns fabricated using the alumina tapes. The results obtained in this study showed that the marginal fits of the glass infiltrated alumina cores fabricated from the alumina tapes are slightly higher value than those prepared using the In-ceram but the difference is within a clinically acceptable range.

  • Various researches on the application of polymer dispersions to the cement mortar and concrete have been practised in many countries like America, Japan and Germany and so on because of high performance and good modification effect of these. In this study, SBR, Polymer dispersion that widely used in situ is employed that the self-flowability may be induced in the cemen mortar. In order to comprehend and investigate the modification of cement mortar with self-flowability by SBR and properties and fracture mode of adhesive strength in tension of that, experimental parameter was set as SBR solid-Cement ratio(S/C) and Cement:Fine aggregate(C:F) and the experiments such as Unit weight, Flow, Consistency change, Crack resistance and Segregation that inform on the general properties have been done. In addition of that, Adhesion in tension is measured with a view to comprehending the properties and fracture mode in tensile load. Consistency change of cement mortar modified by SBR did grow better as the ratio of SBR solid-Cement increased and was much superior to that of resin based flooring such as polyurethane and epoxy which recorded the loss of consistency in 90min. after mixing. Adhesive strength in tension increased with continuity in the curing age and showed the maximum in case of C:F=1:1 and S/C=20%. As the increase of curing age, the fracture mainly happened in the concrete substrate and the interface between the specimen and concrete substrate.

  • In this paper, The concept of a wheel with carbon fiber composite is to replace the conventional material used for a wheel hub, such as plastic, with a disk-type hub made of carbon fabric and epoxy resin. The impact load from the ground under real conditions was considered; a low-velocity impact test was conducted to evaluate the impact performance of the carbon wheel and compare it with that of a conventional plastic wheel. This study applied a 70 J impact load as a test condition. The impact energy was controlled in the test by adjustment of height and weight of impactor. The use of a carbon disk wheel hub was confirmed to reduce weight and generate an excellent repulsive force at low energy under conditions similar to real driving conditions. The results showed that the maximum load increased proportionally depending on the impact load, but the growth of the maximum load was reduced at a 20 J impact load and tended to decrease at a 45 J impact load. The carbon wheel showed excellent properties ; the level of rebounding was 35.3% and 19.1% of the total impact energy at impact loads of 5 J and 10 J, respectively. On the other hand, the carbon disk wheel rebounded less than 5% of the total energy due to crack generation of the thin carbon hub for impact loads of more than 20 J.

  • This paper explain about the development of environmental friendly, low cost and stable supply material i.e., rice husk and shell were used as micro incorporating bio waste filler. Those were processed by ball mill and analyzed through micro observation by FE-SEM, EDS and particle size distribution. The obtained filler was mixed with epoxy resin for the manufacturing of CFRP composite and study tensile properties. In EDS analysis main contents of rice husk and rice husk ash are C, O and Si. When rice husk was burned C and Si ration were increased. Shell powder has C, O and Ca. It caused $CaCO_3$ from shell. Surface weighted mean of rice husk powder is $6.19{\mu}m$ and volume weighted mean is $14.77{\mu}m$. And it has rod type particles which caused hair and husk structure parts. Surface weighted mean of rice husk ash powder is $1.55{\mu}m$ and volume weighted means is $8.20{\mu}m$. Surface weighted mean of shell powder is $2.53{\mu}m$ and volume weighted mean is $5.79{\mu}m$. The tensile decreased with increasing the content of micro filler in CFRP composites. In case of rice husk, the significant decrement of tensile strength was observed. and in case of shell powder, there is no effect of changes take place in tensile strength.

  • Most degeneating diseases and back pains in the orthopaedic disease are originated from the unbalance of stress distribution in the low-lumbar spine. Therefore the stress analysis of lowerback is indispensible to the clinical diagnosis for the developing reason and the developing process of diseases. Therefore the same model materials as following are eveloped to analyze the stress distributions of lower-back by photoelastic experiment. The verterbral body and the process are molded from epoxy resin(the weight ratio of Araldite and hardner is 10 to 3), models are geometrically identical to them in vivo respectively and the ratio of their elastic modulus to that of model material is 1 to 10. It is assured that KE-1300 Silicon(E=0.8MPa), TSE-3562 Silicon(0.5MPa) and the composite silicon(3MPa) (the weight ratio of KE-1300 silicon and Jioreal : 10 to 4) are respectively effective as the model materials of ligament, musles and intervertevral disc which is essential to the movement of low-lumbar spine. All the elements associated with the movement of the low-lumbar spine are molded through the molding method developed in this research and assembled with the angles between the verterbra and the disc in the normal human lumbosacral spine. The stress distributions of the assembled model are analyzed by photoelastic experiment. It is certified by comparing the results of photoelastic experimebt with the clinical situations that the loading dveice and the loading conceptions used in this paper are effective.
