Remanufacturing that is the rebuilding of a product to specifications of the original manufactured product by collecting used-product, completely disassembling, cleaning and repairing or replacing with a new part and reassembling has been received attention in aspects of resource, recycling because it is a great environmental improvement. Remanufacturing is the rebuilding of a product to specifications of the original manufactured product by collecting used-product, completely disassembling, cleaning and repairing or replacing with a new part and reassembling. With a great environmental improvement and resource recycling and conservation, many studies were conducted. Up to date, remanufacturing activities are mainly applied to automobile parts and printer toner cartridge in South Korea. However, remanufacturing of rental product is not well conducted although rental products are collected in good condition and could be remanufactured in the same condition as a new product. Therefore, in this study, we conducted life cycle assessment (LCA) to an air cleaner product that is one of rental products. This study attempts to identify the processes in new products and remanufacturing life cycles that contribute the most environmental impacts. The results show that air cleaner remanufacturing could reduce about 20% of environmental impacts compared to new product. The greatest benefit related to environmental impact is with regard to ozone layer depletion potential (ODP), which is reduced by 94%. In the life cycle of air cleaner, raw material extraction stage had the most environmental impacts, especially with regard to abiotic depletion potential (ADP) and global warming potential (GWP). In the environmental impacts in each part, the ABS power had the highest environmental impacts.

The purpose of this study was to examine how environmental education teachers think about environmental teaching materials of their use in primary and secondary schools. For this purpose, six primary and secondary school teachers were selected for focus group discussion on October 17th, 2005. The discussion of focus group was recorded both on video and audio tapes. Teachers' discussion could be analyzed in the perspectives of two big ideas, 'content selection' and 'content organization and presentation'. The big ideas were categorized into several areas: 1) The idea of 'content selection' was classified into 4 areas such as integration, difficulty level, locality, and timeliness, 2) The idea of 'content organization and presentation' was classified into 4 areas such as learning motivation, teaching and teaming strategy, evaluation method, application of teaching materials. This study provided meaningful ideas, which can be used in developing environmental education materials as well as effective teaching and teaming strategies for school environmental educators.
Purpose - The current study aims to learn how fashion consumers now feel about environmental issues. The significance of "green fashion product creation" in resolving environmental issues is explored. It also examines how customers' environmental consciousness has evolved due to the introduction of green fashion products. Research design, data, and methodology - The study methods, procedures, and results of the 16 publications included in this literature review were critically examined. The data sources, analyses, and key findings presented in each publication were compared and contrasted. To better understand how to raise environmental consciousness among customers. Result - The investigation indicates a total of four results why eco-friendly product should be developed to attract potential green consumers. Four solutions are as follows; (1) Encourages Sustainable Consumption Behavior, (2) Increases Consumer Environmental Awareness, (3) Improves Corporate Social Responsibility, and (4) Enhances Competitive Advantage. Conclusion - Promoting sustainability in the fashion sector requires full visibility throughout the supply chain. Companies in the fashion industry would serve their customers better if they were more forthcoming about the resources, methods, and circumstances that went into making their wares. Consumers may accomplish this by including instructions on the packaging or posting them on the business's website.

Given the continued climate change and global warming, various technologies for greenhouse gas reduction were discussed worldwide as all 195 countries participated in the Paris Agreement on the reduction of greenhouse gases. The agreement was adopted at the 21st Conference of Parties to the UNFCCC (COP21), which was held in Paris, France, in December 2015, and it revealed that reducing CO2 is the most efficient method of greenhouse gas reduction. Accordingly, carbon capture/utilization/storage (CCUS) technology has been noted as a means of making practical contributions to CO2 reduction, and research and development (R&D) activities in many countries are active in the field of CCUS technology. Therefore, this study aims to provide a basis for CCUS R&D and strategic support measures by analyzing patent trends in technologies related to CCUS. The patent analysis collected a total of 10,137 patents in the United States, Korea, Japan, Europe, and China; the number of patents in the United States was the highest according to patent analysis by country. According to an analysis by technology, capture-related technology was high at 60%, but given the recent increase in technology related to utilization, technology demonstration, R&D, and policy support should be continued.
The Headquarters for Earthquake Research Promotion (HERP) represents the upper-most level of Japan's earthquake disaster prevention governance. Its policy committee establishes the national earthquake investigation research promotion plan. The earthquake investigation committee of HERP collects survey geo-data and evaluates the research results of each earthquake disaster prevention agency. The establishment of an earthquake-related geo-resilience research strategy is both necessary and desirable for Korea. The concept of geo-resilience entails the ability to improve disaster resilience through the application of research results and the convergence of geoscience with science and technology (S&T) including the humanities and social sciences. The achievement of geo-resilience requires a national long-term roadmap and strategy for earthquake prediction research, the development of earthquake disaster prediction and prevention technology, Geo-ICT convergence technology development, implementation of a geocyber physics system (Geo-CPS), the use of geo-mimetics, and geoscientific R&D as it relates to local communities. Through such efforts, the national research institutes of Korea will be able to develop earthquake prediction capacities in relevant fields, reinforce proactive response capabilities, enhance community-level confidence in geodata and its research results, foster next-generation geoscientific manpower, and expand geoscientific infrastructure.

In terms of habitat conservation, it is essential to develop a habitat assessment system that can evaluate not only the suitability of the current habitat, but also the health and stability of the habitat. This study aimed to develop a methodology of habitat quality assessment for endangered species by analyzing various existing habitat assessment methods. The habitat quality assessment consisted of selecting targeted species, planning of assessment, selecting targeted sites, assessing performance, calculating grade, and expert verification. Target sites were selected separately from core and potential habitats using a species distribution model or habitat suitability index. Habitat assessment factors were classified into ecological characteristic, landscape characteristic, and species-habitat characteristic. Ecological characteristic consisted of thirteen factors related to health of tree, vegetation, and soil. Landscape characteristic consisted of five factors related to fragment and connectivity of habitat. Species-habitat characteristic consisted of factors for evaluating habitat suitability depending on target species. Since meanings are different depending on characteristics, habitat quality assessment of this study could be used by classifying results for each characteristic according to various assessment purposes, such as designation of alternative habitats, assessment of restoration project, and protected area valuation for endangered species. Forest habitat quality assessment is expected to play an important role in conservation acts of endangered species in the future through continuous supplementation of this system in regard to quantitative assessment criteria and weighting for each factor with an influence.

The Seoul Housing Corporation pronounced a design competition for Eunpyeng New Town District 2 in March of 2005. The authors collaborated on this design and won rot prize. Design guidelines of this competition were to make environmentally sustainable design, to develop as a resort site and cultural place for everyday life of residents, to link with green fabric of the district, and to elevate positive image and identity of Eunpyeng New Town district by creating a attractive landscape. The authors developed design concept and strategy within the guidelines and site conditions. The environmental setting of this site was characterized by mountain to the rear of the site with a stream passing through the district and the front of the site. This is the most important condition for the location principle of residence in Fung Shui theory. Therefore, the schema of the design was introduced by Fung Shui and Chi of place. To evolve design concept, we reinterpret the Fung Shui and Chi in the site combining with modem landscape design strategy, so that good place making could bring about well-being life of residents. By doing that, design concept of the proposal evolved as follows: 'fullness of comfortable life', 'adaptation of nature', 'inspiration of natural force'. This design approach is critical reevaluation of regional characters employing modem strategy. It is a conscious strategy of critical regionalism as distinguished from the traditional site oriented approach. The following are some of the major features in the design: green network and water recycle system in the site, promenade of forest with the experience nature, link to community core, theme gardens with plants having strong fragrances, terrace gardens with different level of housing type, playgrounds and resting places with many types, human scale facilities for residents.

The objective of this study is to propose a new strategy, called "freeway travel reservation strategy", to mitigate freeway traffic congestion by using advanced traffic technologies and traffic demand management policies, and to analyze its acceptability. Motorist surveys were carried out to accomplish the acceptability analysis. As a result, 73% of respondents agreed with the proposed strategy, and an increase in the inconvenience for using freeway during the major Korean Holidays, in the age, in the number of family members, and in household income resulted in higher acceptability. Additionally, married or female respondents tended to have higher acceptability. Such results can be practical for developing policies to successfully operate the proposed strategy in the future.

This study started with questioning the fact that in the assessmentof technology, which has taken place every two years since 2010, the technology gap in the most technologically advanced countries was evaluated as 4-5 years in each evaluation. To interrogate this question, regression estimation was performed using the Gompertz model based on time series data for technology level evaluation. As a result, it would take 17 years for high-speed rail vehicle technology to reach the level of 95 % of the country with the highest technology, and 72 years to reach the level of 100 %. Recognizing the technology gap is important in establishing a technology catchup strategy. A collaborative technology catchup strategy is the best strategy for moving to an original technology development stage while competing with large global leaders without much domestic market demand. This can occur regardless of where Korea is located in the technology catchup stage.
This study was planned to define the concept and the patterns of the fields for environmental education through the theory review about the fields for environmental education that were important at school environmental education for field-experience learning, and to survey the using status of the fields for environmental education and the awareness of teachers who have been teaching practically students environmental education in school through the questionnaire. The results derived from this study were as follows ; First, the use of the fields for environmental education in environmental education is necessary aspect of the importance of field-experience learning and the environmental education strategy through personalization of environment and is essential to the substantiality of school environmental education. The concept of the fields for environmental education is defined that it is used as place(space) for environmental education, is located most outdoor space, promote students the concern and consciousness about environment. The patterns of the fields for environmental education may be classified the field for nature observation learning surrounding, the fields for nature observation and field survey, the fields for visit and field trip, and the fields for experience and participation by the contents and the purpose of educational program. Second, according to the results of the teacher's awareness survey, most responded teachers gave an affirmative answer about the necessity of practical use of the fields for environmental education, and it was used mainly in special lecture, weekend, and legal holiday. Also, it was surveyed that time for using the fields was brought as the most serious obstacle by teachers. In particular, teachers preferred the environmental education fields for experience and participation above all others. Third, from the results about the using status of the fields for environmental education, school environmental education mostly have been taught in indoor classroom, school landscape(school grounds) was evaluated the most easily useful the fields for environmental education in formal lecture, because it can solve the lack of time. Also, it was proved that eco-park, stream, and river were fit for the field-experience learning with small students group.
