  • Purpose - Considering the recent instability of world economy and its heavy dependence on foreign, Korea must formulate breakthrough approaches to proactively cope with these adverse global developments. As such, this study aims to ascertain how participation in global value chains (GVCs) relates to corporate productivity and derive policy implications. Design/methodology - This study utilizes the microdata of Korean manufacturers to develop indicators of GVC participation at the enterprise level and analyzes the effects of GVC participation on the firm's total factor productivity by using fixed effect model. Findings - Enterprises with highest rates of export-side GVC participation see their productivity grow as their export-side GVC participation rates increase. In addition, when companies are classified by their export-side GVC participation rates, increasing export values improves all firm's productivity. In particular, those with low participation rates are analyzed to achieve higher productivity by increasing their imports, not only exports, which implies that companies with lower export-side GVC participation can boost productivity by reinforcing their export and import activities. Originality/value - This research paper distinguishes itself from others in that it makes a novel attempt to design the indicators of GVC participation at the enterprise level, not at the national or industry level. In addition, this study contributes to the existing literature by dividing companies into subgroups depending on their GVC participation rates for each of export and import and identifying variances in the effect of GVC participation on productivity growth among subgroups.

Also, publication of the sustainability report is proliferating which is showing the enterprise's strategy, activity, result and influence in environmental, economic, social cases to the stakeholder. However, to settle and proliferate this current, it rests with how to evaluate enterprises sustainability in reasonable and reliable figure. In this context, what introduced and taking effects are sustainability report evaluation and awarding system. But the quality of sun stainability report and its content's depth and the evaluation of enterprise's sustainability itself should be distinguished. Because the enterprise which published excellent graded sustainability report is not always the enterprise that is sustainable. Then, how could we prove the result of enterprise's sustainable management based on sustainability report? This paper is to find the answer and to utilize it based on sustainability report, particularly sustainable value model as the central figure.

  • The dissertation presents the portfolio construction method using the score sheet so that general investors can utilize it easily. This study draws the significant variables to contribute the enterprise value and suggests the combined models by applying the single methodology, which private investors can easily utilize. The results of the research can be classified into 2 areas. Firstly, the significantly affecting variables were selected for analyzing the enterprise value. The variables and the method for the enterprise value analysis were studied from the existing researches to choose the optimal variables. The variables were identified by using AHP method and the structure equation method from the investigation of the previous researches. And the critical variables were added extracted from the common denominator of variables which the 3 grue investors used for their investment. The final variables identified are dividend yield, PER, PBR, PCR, EV/EBITDA, ROE, net income, sales growth rate, net current asset, debt ratio, current ratio, rate of operating profits, ratio of operating profit to net sales, ratio of net income to net sales, net profit to total assets, EPS growth rate, inventory turnover ratio, and receivables turnover. Second, the new methodologies for forecasting enterprise value modifying the existing methods were developed. The result of the Logistic regression analysis for forecasting showed that the equation could not be suitable as the accuracy with 91.98%.

Dr. Margaret Blair of the Brookings Institute reported a significant shift in the makeup of company assets. In 1978, her study showed that 80 pecent of the firms'value was associated with its tangible assets, with 20 pecent associated with its intangible assets. By 1998, only 30 pecent of the value of the firms studied was attributable to tangible assets while 70 pecent was associated with the value of their intangibles. This paper used the result of her study. This paper tested the correlation of enterprise value and intellectual capital, cash flow, net income and net assets. • The promotion of social economy is one of the Korean government's top 100 initiatives. As of August 2019, there are 2,249 certified social enterprises in Korea, showing explosive growth with a 41-fold increase from 2007 when the Social Enterprise Promotion Act was first enacted. Currently, the discussion of the sustainability of social-economic organizations is lively, including the issue of changing the certification system to the registration system. Noting the unusual management structure of social enterprise - seeking both social and economic value, this study identifies factors affecting the performance of social enterprises. The study focuses on an empirical investigation of the relationships between characteristics of entrepreneurs' experiences in social economy, strategic competency, the extent to which they seek social value, and their performance. This study is unique in social enterprise research due to its approach to the hybrid management structure of social enterprise with a focus on entrepreneurs' characteristics. Accordingly, this empirical investigation focuses on how social-value seeking mediates the relationships between strategic competency emphasized in typical for-profit enterprises, the characteristics of experiences stressed in social-economic organizations, and the performance of social enterprises. The study findings suggest that, firstly, social entrepreneurs must seek social value as a top priority and improve economic performance using strategic competency to keep pursuing social value, and secondly, social-value seeking must be founded upon entrepreneurs' understanding and experiences in social economy. Practical implications of the study findings include concrete directions for training in social enterprises offered by relevant agencies and the establishment of competency models for current and future entrepreneurs.
