비숙련자를 위한 CNC 조각기 시스템의 개발 방안 연구 (A Development of CNC Engraving Machine System for Non-experts)

  • DIY(Do It Yourself) 중심의 창작 활동이 확산되면서 일반 사용자들이 손쉽게 아이디어를 구체화 할 수 있는 환경이 마련되고 있다. 3D 프린터를 비롯한 디지털 기술과 도구의 대중화가 급속도로 진행되고 있는 반면, CNC 조각기의 경우 전문 지식의 부족과 복잡한 사용 절차로 인해 사용이 원활하지 않다. 이에 본 연구에서는 3D 형상 모델 파일만 선택하면 자동으로 가공이 가능한 CNC 조각기의 시스템을 개발하였다. 피삭재와 공구의 크기 및 종류를 제한하고, 생산성의 배제를 통해 공정 계획 및 공구경로 생성, 피삭재 고정, 피삭재 좌표계 파악을 자동화하였다. 그 결과 비숙련자도 혼자 충분히 사용 가능한 CNC 조각기의 시스템이 개발되었다. 이를 통해 기존보다 넓은 범위에서 다양한 사용자들이 사용할 수 있는 CNC 조각기의 발전이 기대된다.

Tool Path Analysis and Motion Control of 3D Engraving Machine

  • This paper presents a new technique to analyze data on the coordinate x, y, z and apply these data to design the motion control to improve the efficiency of the engraving machine so that it can engrave accordingly in 3 dimensions. First, the tool path on the x-y plane is analyzed to be synchronized with the z-axis. The digital data is then sent to the motion control to guide the movement of the engrave point on the x-y plane. Tool path moves along the x-axis with zero degree and different values of the y-axis according to the coordinate of the digital data and the analysis along z-axis to determine the depth for engraving. The depth can be specified from the gray level with the 256 levels of resolution. The data obtained includes the distances on x-axis, y-axis, and z-axis, the acceleration of the engrave point's movement, and the speed of the engrave point's movement. These data is then transfered to the motion control to guide the movement of the engrave point along the z-axis associated with the x-y plane. The results indicate that engraving using this technique is fast and continuous. The specimen obtained looks perfect in 3D view.

  • Even if some kinds of software for halftoning such as raster image process program are on the market, most of them couldn`t apply to the new laser gravure cylinder making machine because they are closed the source program. In order to develop new laser gravure engraving machine, we were investigated new suitable halftoning software based on the mapping and equal density expansion algorithm that we are mapped. As the results of actual practice with Microsoft Visiul C++2.0 in 133Khz 64M ram IBM personal computer, we found that the new software for halftone generation for laser gravure engraving machine are available in new machine, and easily load and processing the graphic image for gravure hardcopy.

영상처리를 이용한 웹기반 명판 가공시스템 개발 (A Development of Web-based Nameplate Production System by using Image Processing)

  • In this research, a nameplate engraving system for images and texts downloaded through Internet on nameplate is developed. The system consists of two subsystems: thinning algorithm and NC code generation module. In the thinning algorithm, the concept of connectivity is used and center lines of images and texts, which will be used as NC tool paths, can be obtained successfully. Because the center lines are composed of a lot of pixels, NC code would be too long. In the NC code generation module, many useless pixel data are removed and linear interpolation algorithm is applied to only the remaining pixels. By performing actual experiments, the thinning algorithm and the NC code generation module are verified.

다축 절삭가공용으로의 육관절 산업용 로봇의 적용평가 (Application Estimate of 6 Degree of Freedom Industrial Robot for Multi-Axes Cutting Machine)

  • The stiffness of multi-articulated industrial robots is very weak, because their structure is an articulated type with some links and joints. Thus it is known that cutting processes for metals are not accepted in machine shop well, but they have a lot of merits for cutting processes, for example, drilling, tapping, and engraving etc, because of the characteristics of their high degree of freedom. The temptation of cutting aluminium was carried out to investigate the feasibility and the limitations or constraints for cutting metals on them. First the mode shapes of 6 degree of freedom welding robot were taken and analysed, and next the cutting processes were practically carried out on it. The results of study were found out to show the feasibility of cutting processes at drilling under 6mm of tool diameter, as well as to have some limitations and constraints, for examples, feed rate, depth of cut and cutting force etc.

냉간 금형용 공구강의 Cu 전극을 이용한 방전 탭에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Electrical Discharge Machining Tap by using Cu Electrodes of the Cold-Work Tool Steel)

  • Currently, an EDM tapping procedure has comprised some parts of the engraving discharge process for the press die. Usually, tapping has been used in cases where we are unable to mechanically machine using steelwork processes due to an increase in the hardness of a material after heat treatment in relation to a design change or missing process. Here, we analyze the influence of discharge tap shape on discharge time, discharge current, and the number of repetition conditions when a cold-work tool steel (STD11) has been treated with a discharge tapped by a screw-shaped cu electrode. The most important influence on processing condition has been determined to be the number of discharge repetitions. As this number increases, the angle reduction of a thread closes to an angle of the electrode via a power generation reduction. The optimal combination of conditions has been determined to be three discharge repetitions, $180{\mu}s$ of discharge time (same as existing regulations), and 25.4A of peak current. A 0.2749db advantage has emerged after comparing between this combination of optimal conditions and the SN rate of existing regulations.
