Analytical Research of Topside Installation in Mating phase with Crane Vessel

  • The installation of a topside structure can be categorized into the following stages: start, pre-lifting, lifting, lifted, rotating, positioning, lowering, mating, and end of installation. The transfer of the module onto the floating spar hull occurs in the last three stages, from lowering to the end. The coupled multi-body motions are calculated in both calm water and in irregular waves with a significant wave height (1.52m). The effects of the hydrodynamic interactions between the heavy lifting vessel and the spar hull during the lowering and mating stages are considered. The internal forces caused by the load transfer and ballasting are derived for the mating phases. The results of the internal forces for the calm water condition are compared with those in the irregular sea condition. Although the effect of the pitch motion on the relative vertical motion between the deck of the floating structure and the topside module is significant in the mating phases, the internal force induced pitch motion is too small to have this influence. However, the effect of the internal force on the wave-induced heave responses in the mating phases is noticeable in the irregular sea condition because transfer mass-induced draught changes for the floating structure are observed to have higher amplitudes than the external force induced responses. The impacts of the module on the spar hull in the mating phase are investigated.

Dynamic Analysis of Topside Module in Lifting Installation Phase

  • The installation phase for a topside module suggested can be divided into 9 stages, which include start, pre-lifting, lifting, lifted, rotating, positioning, lowering, mating, and end of installation. The transfer of the topside module from a transport barge to a crane vessel takes place in the first three stages, from start to lifting, while the transfer of the module onto a floating spar hull occurs in the last three stages, from lowering to the end. The coupled multi-body motions are calculated in both calm water and in irregular waves with significant wave height (1.52m), with suggested force equilibrium diagrams. The effects of the hydrodynamic interactions between the crane vessel and barge during the lifting stage have been considered. The internal forces caused by the load transfer and ballasting are derived for the lifting phases.   • 건설산업에도 스마트 건설기술들이 많이 도입되고 있으며, 여러 기술 중 3D 스캐닝과 BIM을 이용한 품질관리를 시도하는 회사가 증가하고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서 3D 스캐닝과 BIM을 현장 품질점검 사례에 적용하여 활용가능성과 효용성을 확인하였다. 그 결과 3D 스캐닝과 BIM을 활용한 품질점검은 기존에 시행했던 품질점검보다 시간적으로 단축되고 적은 인력으로도 실현이 가능하다는 것을 확인하였다. 따라서 품질점검의 다양한 분야에 3D 스캐닝과 BIM을 활용한 기술을 적용할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

  • 개수로 합류부의 흐름양상이 2차원 수심적분 수학적 모형에 의하여 해석된다. 합류부 흐름에 지배적인 매개변수는 지류와 합류후 유량의 비와 합류각으로 나타났다. 이들 인자의 항으로 해석되는 대상은 합류부에서 흐름양상과 수심의 변화, 본류에서 합류부 상류흐름이 영향을 받기 시작하는 유량비 및 순환영역의 기하특성이다. 또한 합류하류에서 흐름수축과 지류의 굽음각이 조사되었다. 수치해석결과는 기존 실험자료와 비교적 잘 맞는것으로 나타났다.

Seamless Video Switching System for Service Compatible 3DTV Broadcasting

  • Broadcasting services such as multi/single channel HDTV and 3DTV/2DTV use a multi-channel encoder that changes the bitrate and composition of the video service depending on the time. However, this type of multi-channel encoder could cause a longer latency owing to the variable bitrate and relatively bigger size of the buffers, which results in the same delay as in 3DTV even for a conventional DTV service. On the other hand, systems built based on separate encoders, each of which is optimized for the target service, might not have such latency problems. Nevertheless, there might be a distortion problem in the image and sound at the time of a switchover between two encoders with different output bitrates and group of picture structures. This paper proposes a system that can realize a seamless video service conversion using two different video encoders optimized for each video service. An overall functional description of the video service change control server, which is a main control block for the proposed system, is also provided. The experiment results confirm the seamless switchover and reduced broadcasting latency of DTV services compared with a broadcasting system composed of a multi-channel encoder system.

소나 센서를 이용한 소형 ROV의 위치제어시스템에 관한 연구 (A Study On the Position Control System of the Small ROV Using Sonar Sensors)

  • In the past few years, there are many studies and researches of the underwater vehicles which are carried out its mission using sonar sensors. MSCL(Marine System Control Lab.) at Inha University developed test-bed small ROV, ISRO. ISRO is an open-frame type and has 4 thrusters. ISRO can control 4 motions i.e surge, sway, yaw and heave with sonar sensors. ISRO is developed for inspection of ship hull, marine structure, plant of lake or river and so on. When ROV ISRO inspects something, it is necessary to control the position of ROV ISRO's for the movement and anti-collision with structures in the underwater. In this paper, we deal with the development of a small ROV and verification of the position control system via simulation and experiment using sonar sensors.

  • In the original design of K2 tank the Vertical Sensor Unit(VSU) was mounted to measure the attitude of the main gun to enhance the hit probability. In this research, as a part of efforts to reduce the cost of K2, it was theoretically simulated and evaluated to use the data from Inertial Navigation System(INS) for the calculation of the gun attitude instead of the direct measurement using VSU. It was found that the negative effect of INS approach is negligible and the elimination of VSU is technically possible and beneficial to the system.

STD 61 공구강과 상대재인 핫 프레스 가공용 Al-9%Si 코팅강의 고온 미끄럼 마모 (High Temperature Wear of STD 61 Tool Steels Sliding Against Al-9%Si Coated Steels Used for Hot Press Forming)

  • High temperature wear of STD 61 tool steels sliding against the Al-9%Si coated steels used for hot press forming has been studied in comparison with that of the tool steels sliding against the uncoated steels. Wear tests have been performed using a pin-on-disc configuration under an applied normal load of 50N for 20 min with heating the coated and uncoated steels up to 800$^{\circ}C$. It was found on the worn surface of the STD 61 tool steels sliding against the Al-9%Si coated steels that the formation of the glazed layers containing Al transferred from the coated tribopair may contribute to a reduction of the coefficient of friction, and detachment in part occur due to delamination wear, resulting in higher specific wear rate. On the other hand the Fe-oxide wear debris entrapped on the softer surface of the uncoated steels can act as a tribosurface, leading to decreased adhesive wear of the STD 61 tool steels, resulting in a lower specific wear rate.

고부가가치선 선실의 소음 저감용 복합패널의 차음특성 해석 (Analysis of Sound Transmission Characteristics of Multi-complex Panel for Noise Reduction in High Value-added Vessel Cabin)

  • Recently, as the importance of the interior noise in a ship cabin has risen, ship builders have becomeconcerned about the use of noise reduction panels to reduce cabin noise. The results of previous researches have been based on analytical and experimental methods using simple sandwich panels. However, panel structures are becoming more complex to improve the transmission loss. Thus, researches that analyze the transmission loss of a panel are reaching the limit of study. This paper reports on research that was performed to determine the sound transmission characteristics of multi-complex panels applicable to high value-added vessels. It presents comparisons between analytical methods and experimental results by using a mini-reverberant chamber with components of sound attenuation panels, including the core and surface materials. The sound transmission loss of multi-complex panels are also analyzed in terms of the influences of the inside perforate plates and air gap thickness on the attenuation. Finally, the multi-complex panel with the highest noise attenuation is proposed based on the analysis results and experimental results in mini-reverberant chamber, which wereverified using a real-size reverberant chamber.

철강공정 배기가스로부터 가스 하이드레이트 형성에 미치는 촉진제의 영향 (Effects of Promoter on the Formation of Gas Hydrate from Blast Furnace Gas)

  • 본 연구에서는 가스 하이드레이트 기술을 이용하여 철강 공정 배기가스로부터 $CO_2$를 분리하는데 사용하는 여러 촉진제의 성능을 조사하였다. 이 실험에서는 $CO_2/N_2$ 혼합가스 ($CO_2/N_2$=20/80, 40/60)와 $CO_2/N_2$ 이외에 CO, $H_2$가 첨가된 Blast furnace gas (BFG) 모델 가스를 대상 가스로 사용하였다. 촉진제로는 구조 II 하이드레이트를 형성한다고 알려진 tetrahydrofuran (THF), propylene oxide, 1,4-dioxane 를 사용하였으며, 각 가스에 대하여 촉진제를 농도별로 첨가했을 때 상평형점의 변화를 측정하였다. 상평형점은 "연속" Quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) 방식을 이용하였다. 또한, Powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD) 분석을 통하여 촉진제의 첨가가 가스 하이드레이트 구조에 미치는 영향을 알아보았다.
