  • This study examines the job changes and the coincidence of job and major In the case of the youth, science and engineering graduates in Korea. The pattern of job changes and the coincidence of job and major get observed in the Unemployment Insurance Database and the Graduate List. This data enables us tracing all job changes in the labor market, and analysing the coincidence of job and major. The average rate of coincidence is not so high, the rate at first job is roughly one third. The youth with coincidence of job and major have earned less income than the youth without coincidence of job and major. But this result is impressive in the lower wage earners, any differences in regard to coincidence is not found in the upper wage earners. The probability of the coincidence of job and major is higher in case of the high wage and the high study attainments. The results suggests that the problem of the science and engineering graduates should be concentrated only on the lower manpower in the scientist and engineer jobs. Korean government have to lessen the number of entry into the science and engineering college and enlarge the number of entry into the science and engineering graduate school. Korean government have to prepare the system that aids establishment where the employee with coincidence of job and major earns more income.

  • After analyzing of heating value of four kinds of RDF, the RDF-D has the highest heating value, was chosen to be mixed with carbonized sludge by different ratio. The 85%:15% ratio, which has the highest efficiency, was analyzed with thermogravimetric and pyrolysis kinetics. Applying of Kissinger method, activation energy was obtained from slope which is calculated from relation of ln(${\beta}/T^2{_m}$) and $1/T_m$. The kinetic parameters obtained from Kissinger method were 46.06 kJ/mol of RDF, 55.99 kJ/mol of carbonized sludge and 40.68 kJ/mol of mixture of RDF and carbonized sludge. The mixture of RDF and carbonized sludge has the lowest activation energy and frequency factor, during thermal decomposition reaction it has the slowest reaction rate and needs the lowest energy. Although activation energy with pyrolysis of RDF was irregularly scattered, it showed that activation energy was stabilized by co-pyrolysis of RDF and additives(Carbonized Sludge).

  • The ultraviolet-C emitting praseodymium doped yttrium phosphate (YPO4:Pr3+) powder was synthesized by conventional solid-state reaction. The electroluminescence device was fabricated by simple screen-printing method using the synthesized YPO4:Pr3+ powder, especially, polyvinylidene fluoride as an insulating layer was applied on the printed YPO4:Pr3+ powder for stable performance of the electroluminescence. The electroluminescence properties were investigated under alternating current power system of 400 Hz. The device starts to emit at 350 V, which showed the ultraviolet-C emission peaking at the 233, 245, 264, 273 nm attributed to electronic transition of the Pr3+ ions. The electroluminescence intensity was increased as increasing the operating voltage and the device revealed stable performance up to 600 V due to the polyvinylidene fluoride serve as a protective layer.

  • The green-emitting Zn2SiO4:Mn2+ phosphor film was evaluated in a xenon excimer lamp. The phosphor film with 2 ㎛ thick was formed of monolithic structure on the inner side of quartz through a long-time annealing process of coated ZnO solution doped with Mn2+ ion and SiO2 of quartz tube. The coated quartz was filled with 100 torr of xenon gas, and simultaneously both sides was melt and sealed. The xenon-field quartz tube was discharge by applying the voltage of 15 kV with a frequency of 26 kHz, and emitted the glow with dominant peak at 172 nm. The vacuum ultraviolet excited the inner-side coated Zn2SiO4:Mn2+ phosphor film, which emitted the pure and strong green light.

  • In this study, Phaseolus vulgaris (kidney bean) leghemoglobin a (PhLba) gene was cloned into pPICZαA and expressed in Pichia pastoris to sustainably produce a heme-carrying protein for organoleptic use in plant-based meat. The recombinant PhLba protein was secreted into the culture medium in a solubilized form, and the molecular weight of the purified PhLba was estimated to be 16.5 kDa using SDS-PAGE. In addtion, the yield of recombinant PhLba holoprotein was enhanced by supplementation of the cultivation medium with hemin. This result indicates that the apo-forms of PhLba can be effectively saturated with cofactor.

  • This study utilized automated machine learning (AutoML) to calculate Arctic ice surface temperature (IST). AutoML-derived IST exhibited a strong correlation coefficient (R) of 0.97 and a root mean squared error (RMSE) of 2.51K. Comparative analysis with deep neural network (DNN) models revealed that AutoML IST demonstrated good accuracy, particularly when compared to Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) IST and ice mass balance (IMB) buoy IST. These findings underscore the effectiveness of AutoML in enhancing IST estimation accuracy under challenging polar conditions.

  • Process safety incidents and loss events can be prevented if we identify and adequately take measures on process safety incident precursors in a timely manner. If we look into and take action against the process safety hazard factors causing the incident in the refinery and petrochemical plant, major process safety incidents can be prevented through eliminating or decreasing hazardous factors. We conducted a survey for the major process safety incident precursor to look specifically into the potential process safety hazardous factors of refineries and petrochemical plants in the Yeosu chemical complex. A self-assessment checklist, which was published by Center for Chemical Process Safety "Recognizing catastrophic incident warning signs in the process industry" on major incidents warning sign, was used for the survey. Through this survey, the major process safety incident leading indicators in the process industry were found by process safety management elements, and each site and/or facility can use these leading indicators for activities for process safety incident prevention. In addition, we proposed action items required to eliminate the root cause of those process safety incident leading indicators.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop indicators to establishing the education system, focusing the curriculum in each department of H University for quality management of the curriculum. The indicator was developed based on previous studies and cases studies of other universities, and the validation of them was confirmed by the Delphi survey method. The Delphi surveys were conducted by two times, and 16 and 15 people participated for the first and second survey, respectively. We derived the following major results through developing the indicator. First, in order to conduct an education inspection of major courses, , , , , and are required. Second, the checking factors should be evaluated based on the contents in each stage, and can be regarded as a core activity in the curriculum. Accordingly, the checking factors becomes the basis for the establishment of the indicator to establishing the education system, and the indicator can be an expression method that represents the basis data for determining the factors to be evaluated.

  • Problem-based learning (PBL) in engineering education has been implemented in various ways. The wide range of PBL methods sometimes creates difficulties in implementing PBL. The purpose of this study was to identify the major variables that a teacher considers in PBL designs for an engineering course and suggest specific PBL methods according to the PBL design variables. This study was conducted using a review research method involving 21 studies from a range of engineering education fields. The results showed that the major variables that engineering professors need to consider when applying PBL are the authenticity of the PBL problem and the method of providing knowledge or information that the learners must know to solve the given problem. Based on the two variables identified, the following four types of PBL methods for engineering education are suggested: 1) lecture-based problem, 2) guided problem-based learning, 3) problem-based learning and 4) co-op problem-based learning.
