This study was implemented for the purpose of analyzing the Job Competency level of accredited and non-accredited program's graduates. And we were seeking way to manage realistic and effective way of Accreditation of Engineering education. In order to achieve the purpose of this study, survey and FGI were done. The study was: accredited program's graduates thought more positively than non-accredited program's graduates, and graduates felt that 11 Job Competencies Level of Work Performance were lower than the needs of job performance. The conclusions of this study were summarized as follows: First, between accredited and non-accredited program's graduates, we could see significant recognition difference about the perception of the needs of job performance. This was because Design curriculum were reinforced and accredited program's graduates had attended design program at accredited program. Second, accredited program's graduates felt higher than non-accredited program's graduates about the perception of level of work performance. This was because the efforts for curriculum reorganizing and teaching methods improvement were done. Third, we could not find significant recognition difference about the perception of the needs for job performance and work level. That was because accredited and non-accredited program were not dealed seperately. The conclusions of this study are summarized as follows: First, The efforts for analyzing job competence of industry and reflecting the program curriculum are needed on the accredited program for engineering education. Second, Government should make the incentive policy about the companies which give some merits to the accreditation graduates, and monitor constantly their real working. Third, in order that the accreditation results can be trustful on staff recruiting or school choosing, accreditation should make outcome-based-evaluation which guarantees competence of graduates.
There's been few research to study the effects of CAC(Computing Accreditation Committee) evaluation, since start of CAC accreditation 10 years ago. The purpose of this paper is to find what computer engineering graduates perceive the effects of CAC accreditation and to suggest how CAC accreditation process can be improved. The research findings through survey are followings; First, computer engineering graduates' undergraduate education satisfaction is not high enough(3.28). Second, the computer engineering graduates don't recognize CAC accreditation necessary. Third, graduates who work in company chose design courses as the most helpful, while graduates who study in graduate school pursuing further career in master or doctor program chose major subjects. Lastly, graduates from accredited program do not think their completion of accreditation program influence their employment. Strategic approaches to make higher effectiveness of CAC accreditation system are suggested. First, improvement of curriculum and instruction method in CAC accredited program is required to satisfy the needs of students and industry. Second, efforts to inform students of understandings and necessity of accreditation are highly recommended. Third, industrial sector needs to understand CAC accreditation and give graduates from accredited program more incentives. Lastly, government support like Seoul Accord Activation Project should last for a while.
The purpose of this study was to compare and analyze the employment rate of engineering graduates in the last eight years (2011-2018) by gender and majors. Using the statistical yearbook for employment of higher education graduates provided by the Korea Educational Development Institute (KEDI), the employment rate and retained employment rate of engineering graduates were investigated. As results, first, the employment rate has been decreasing since 2011, and the gender employment rate gap has not narrowed and women have always been lower than men. Second, most of the engineering graduates were workers with employee health insurance. On the other hand, women were higher than men in works with self-employee health insurance. Third, from 2016 to 2018, the retained employment rate of engineering graduates was similar, and as the survey progressed, the retained employment rate decreased. In particular, women had lower retained employment rate than men. The study is meaningful in that it suggested ways to bridge the gap between gender and majors employment rates of engineering graduates.
The authors investigated the present status of employment of graduates from ship-boarding departments, the Department of Fishing Technology, of Marine Engineering and of Communication Engineering. Graduater from the departments in Tong-Yeong Fisheries Junior College from 1977 to 1988 were taken as samples. The prospects of the graduates were studied on the bases of the present status of employment. The results obtained can be shown as follows ; 1. In Department of Fishing Technology, the number of graduates who are engaged in major field is 523 (56%) among total members of graduates 929, and number of fishing vessel officer is 382(73%) among above members of employment in major field. 2. In Department of Marine Engineering, the number of graduates who are engaged in major field is 553 (58%) among total members of graduates 953, and the number of merchant vessel officers is 357 (65%), among the above members of employment in major field. 3. In Department of Communication Engineering, the number of graduates who are engaged in major field is 340 (49%) among 698, total members of graduates, and the number of graduates who are engaged in electronics and communication field is 196 (58%) among the above members of employment in major field. 4. Developements of deep sea fisheries enable graduates to make easy to get jobs, but difficult to get. land jobs related to major field.
This study investigated the effect of engineering education accreditation on employment rate at the University of Seoul. The graduates who had been educated in the accredited program showed higher grade point average (GPA) and higher employment rate (89.0%) than the graduates who had been educated in the program without the accreditation (70.9%). The employment rate of all graduates increased with increasing GPA, the mathematics-science-computer (MSC) credit acquired, design credit acquired, and the number of interviews with supervising professors. Theses results showed that the MSC and design subjects and the counselling are at least beneficial in getting a job for students at the University of Seoul. When GPA, design credit acquired, and the number of counselling are the same, graduates with the engineering education accreditation showed much higher employment rate than the graduates without the accreditation. These preliminary results suggest that the engineering education programs with accreditation at the University of Seoul are beneficial for students in getting a gob through motivating them to acquire more credits in design subjects, doing greater number of counselling with supervising professors, and making better academic achievement. In addition, the engineering education accreditation at the University of Seoul helped students developing their personal skills such as team workability, communication skills, and creativity via carrying out design subjects, which may affect the employment rate indirectly.

Developement of deep sea fisheries and industry of engine and machinery seems to graduates easy to get their jobs in major field.
This study investigated the effects of WIE(Women into Engineering) programs on women engineers' employment and career duration. For this study, the 91 female graduates with a degree in the field of engineering of K university who graduated from 2010 to 2013 were collected. The female graduates with a degree in the field of engineering of K university were divided into 4 groups-an employment group of relevant field of major, an employment group of irrelevant field of major, a group of graduate school, and a group of unemployment. The results were: first, the female graduates' program participation scores showed meaningful diversity according to the types of employment of female graduates with a degree in the field of engineering. Among the 4 types of employment of female graduates with a degree in the field of engineering, the group of graduate schoolers got the highest program participation scores, and the employment group of relevant field of major got the second scores, the group of unemployment got the third scores, and the employment group of irrelevant field of major got the last scores. Second, The female graduates' program participation scores showed meaningful diversity according to the career duration of female graduates with a degree in the field of engineering. The career duration in accordance with the program participation scores showed meaningful difference between the employment group of relevant field of major and the employment group of irrelevant field of major.
This study aims to examine whether a gender works to make the difference on the university experiences of natural sciences and engineering major students; and the income and quality gap between the graduates. In this study, university experiences means job market and job searching related experiences such as job fair attending, The main research questions are as follows; fist, what are the significant university experiences related job preparation and application, and is there a gender gap on those experiences? Second, how is the job market performance of the national sciences and engineering graduates for their income level and quality job, and is there a gender gap on the job market performance of the sample? Third, which variables among the university experiences for job searching and application impacts the job quality and income level of the natural sciences and engineering graduates? To find out the research results, this study conducts a panel data analysis with GOMS (Graduates Occupational Mobility Survey) throughout survey year of 2006 to 2015, towards 568,264 as weighted value number. As analysis methods, this study carries out a descriptive analysis, ANOVA, discriminant analysis, linear regression and T-test. Therefore, here are the brief outputs of the study; first, for natural sciences and engineering students, the off-campus experiences such as job fair, job recruit festival and internship programs are more favored; second, female students are more likely to attend personal and self-driven job preparation programs; third, on job market performance, the graduates' income level and company scale rate are higher in the male but job stability is higher in the female; fourth, as a result of the linear regression, gender factor decides the income level in considerable degree; additionally, gender factor shows the difference of the job satisfaction and self-effectiveness on one's job as a qualitative variables. For obtaining strictness, university program factors are controlled through model fitness process. As above, this study finds out the main factors of university life of natural sciences and engineering graduates which are related their job searching and preparation experiences and figures out stronger factors in job market; and examines the statistically significance of the gender in this casual-effect relationship between job preparation and job quality of the graduates.
The first job of university graduates is the beginning of career development, and it has a great influence on a personal life in the transition process of a labor market later. The study has compared and analyzed the effects of major variables (whether or not one participates in the career and employment programs, the satisfaction in the education infrastructure and curriculum) related to university education that determine the satisfaction in the first job of graduates from the entire university of 4-year general courses and the engineering college with experiences of having the first job. Through this, it is meaningful to make it possible for the design of university education related to career and employment tailored to the engineering college. The results of 2017 Graduate Occupational Mobility Survey were used as the data for analysis, which was analyzed by the decision tree analysis. As it was found that the most important factor determining the satisfaction in the first job was student welfare facilities for the entire graduates among education infrastructure and was major curriculum and its content among education curriculum for the graduates from the engineering college, it was analyzed that factors related to majors were more important compared to other majors in the engineering college. The customized major curriculum and content should be considered as a priority, taking into account of the demand of the industry for the successful settlement of graduates from the engineering college in a labor market.
