  • The purpose of this study is to check the extent to which "instruction of physician or dentist" defined in the Medical Service Technologists, etc. Act is applied in relation to radiography examination procedures for radiological technologists. In addition, it is intended to present basic data on the requirement to revise the Medical Service Technologists, etc. Act in the radiological technologist's duty area and scope of work, The subjects of this study were radiological technologists with license, and the response data were collected after sending the questionnaire link written on the online questionnaire form. The final number of respondents were 1,018, and the response rate was 6.8%. Most of the negative responses were "I have never received 'instruction' for radiologic examination by a physician or dentist, including a radiologist in a medical environment." There were a high perception that "the professionalism in radiation examination on radiological technologists are higher than that of a physician or dentist." They answered that the current continuing education has a great impact on maintaining and continuing professionalism and learning new knowledge in the radiology field. In addition, the radiological technologists provide a very high level of education in areas related to radiography procedure ethics such as patient care, patient safety, and patient privacy protection, as well as specialized fields such as radiation-related examination methods, radiography examination dose, and patient exposure dose. Radiological technologists replied that they were receiving it consistently. In conclusion, in the current medical environment, the 'instruction' of a physician or dentist cannot be seen as being realistically performed. The phrase 'instruction' of a physician or dentist as defined in the Medical Service Technologists, etc. Act is considered inappropriate in respect of the fact that the state recognizes the qualifications of the medical service technologist through a license. It is thought that revision to a new term suitable for the current medical environment is necessary.

  • This preliminary study investigated data mining-based methods to assess and predict the performance of geothermal heat pump(GHP) system. Data mining is a key process of the knowledge discovery in database (KDD), which includes five steps: 1) Selection; 2) Pre-processing; 3) Transformation; 4) Analysis(data mining); and 5) Interpretation/Evaluation. We used two analysis models, categorical and numerical decision tree models to ascertain the patterns of performance(COP) and electrical consumption of the GHP system. Prior to applying the decision tree models, we statistically analyzed measurement database to determine the effect of sampling intervals on the system performance. Analysis results showed that 10-min sampling data for the performance analysis had highest accuracy of 97.7% over the actual dataset of the GHP system.

  • PURPOSE. The study aimed to identify the accuracy and reproducibility of preparations made by gypsum materials of various colors using quantitative and semi-quantitative three-dimensional (3D) approach. MATERIALS AND METHODS. A titanium maxillary first molar preparation was created as reference dataset (REF). Silicone impressions were duplicated from REF and randomized into 6 groups (n=8). Gypsum preparations were formed and grouped according to the color of gypsum materials, and light-scanned to obtain prepared datasets (PRE). Then, in terms of accuracy, PRE were superimposed on REF using the best-fit-algorithm and PRE underwent intragroup pairwise best-fit alignment for assessing reproducibility. Root mean square deviation (RMSD) and degrees of similarity (DS) were computed and analyzed with SPSS 20.0 statistical software (${\alpha}=.05$). RESULTS. In terms of accuracy, PREs in 3D directions were increased in the 6 color groups (from 19.38 to $20.88{\mu}m$), of which the marginal and internal variations ranged $51.36-58.26{\mu}m$ and $18.33-20.04{\mu}m$, respectively. On the other hand, RMSD value and DS-scores did not show significant differences among groups. Regarding reproducibility, both RMSD and DS-scores showed statistically significant differences among groups, while RMSD values of the 6 color groups were less than $5{\mu}m$, of which blue color group was the smallest ($3.27{\pm}0.24{\mu}m$) and white color group was the largest ($4.24{\pm}0.36{\mu}m$). These results were consistent with the DS data. CONCLUSION. The 3D volume of the PREs was predisposed towards an increase during digitalization, which was unaffected by gypsum color. Furthermore, the reproducibility of digitalizing scanning differed negligibly among different gypsum colors, especially in comparison to clinically observed discrepancies.

  • Peer assessment is an educational valuation system that involves studying with a colleague and granting value to the progress made by the colleague. Although this method has many merits, there is also a drawback pertaining to calculating the mean of the scores that were granted to the levels of contribution. However, this has been improved upon by a diversified study. However, the concept of the chi-square test and p-value used in the preceding study is not easy individuals engaged in the industrial engineering field or education when using peer assessment. This study uses simple statistics like standard deviation, in addition to, investigating the availability of a suggested method as well as examples of utility and application. This study can contribute to increase the convenience of users through the use of convenience analysis and with this method.
