Hybrid Electronic Vehicle (HEV) is one of the solutions of high oil price and environment problem. Recently, study of HEV is important for automobile industry. However HEV has a lot of components and there are many cases for assembling, it's impossible to test results from assembling by using real vehicles. To solve this problem, hybrid system simulator is required. The purpose of this study is to develop and optimize of engine module for hybrid system simulator. The commercial 1-D engine simulation program, WAVE is used to get the engine capacity and performance data and 1-D simulation model of base engine is compared with engine experiment results. Using the data, the engine module is developed based on the MATLAB Simulink. There are blocks of base engine, Single-CVVT engine and Dual-CVVT engine. The effect of acceleration and deceleration is applied to each engine block. In addition, the control and processing logics for CIS technology are developed. Finally the simulator operates FTP-72 mode test.

Finite element analysis of cylinder heat/block compound under assembly, thermal and firing condition were performed. FE model including two cylinders with gasket, head bolts, liners and valve seats was used. FE modeling method and boundary conditions were introduced. Stress distribution and deformation of cylinder head and block under each loading condition were presented. Gasket pressure distribution and bore distortion level were predicted. Measured data of bore distortion was compared with the analysis results. The analysis result showed similar trends with the experimental data. High cycle fatigue analysis on the basis of this result has been performed in order to find the critical areas of the engine assembly.

The evaluation of the noise for the an existing engine was carried out to improve the current noise level. The applied techniques were 1m air-borne noise, combustion noise analysis, torsional analysis at the front pulley and sound pressure intensity. In addition, the evaluation of the possibility to the noise reduction by means of wrapping the parts was performed to propose the detailed information in engine design. In view of the obtained results, the following countermeasures were recommended to reduce the current noise level through the above methods. Furthermore, in order to assess the influence of combustion noise on the overall engine noise, the noise test was also performed by the change of intake air temperature up to 5$0^{\circ}C$ in steps of 1$0^{\circ}C$. Finally, the fixed design specifications to reduce the engine noise will be decided in consideration of the test data for proto type engine.

For the in-line three cylinder engine whose crankshaft has a phase of 120 degrees, the total sum of unbalanced inertia forces occurring in each cylinder will be counterbalanced among three cylinders. However, parts of inertia forces generated at the No.1 and No.3 cylinders will cause a primary moment about the No.2 cylinder. In order to eliminate this out-of-balance moment, a single balance shaft has been attached to the cylinder block so that the engine durability and riding comfort may be further improved. Accordingly, the forced vibration analysis of the in-line three cylinder engine must be implemented to meet the required targets at an early design stage. In this paper, a method to reduce noise and vibration in the 800cc, in-line three cylinder LPG engine is suggested using the multibody dynamic simulation. The static and dynamic balances of the in-line three cylinder engine are investigated analytically. The multibody dynamic model of the in-line three cylinder engine is developed where the inertia properties of connecting rod, crankshaft, and balance shaft are extracted from their FE-models. The combustion pressure within the No.1 cylinder in three significant operating conditions(1500rpm-full load, 4000rpm-full load and 7000rpm-no load)is measured from the actual tests to excite the engine. The vibration velocities at three engine mounts with and without balance shaft are evaluated through the forced vibration analysis. Obviously, it is shown that the vibration of the in-line three cylinder engine with balance shaft is reduced to the acceptable level .

Due to the government's announcement of the 2025 policy mandating coding education, there is a growing need for effective coding learning methods in elementary education. However, there are few methods available that can easily help younger students understand coding. While text-based coding and visual block coding methods exist, they have limitations. To address these issues, we propose a block coding learning platform that combines virtual reality (VR) technology with gamification elements. The traditional two dimensional (2D) block coding methods have some limitations, so this platform aims to overcome these by providing an environment where learners can intuitively understand and experience coding in a three dimensional (3D) virtual space. The primary goal is to enhance immersive, learner-centered experiences and improve creative problem-solving skills and computational thinking. This study proposes an experimental approach to demonstrate the effectiveness of a learning platform that combines VR technology with block coding. Furthermore, we expect that the VR-based platform will significantly contribute to improving the quality of education and promoting self-directed learning among students.

Ethernet has been given a greater attention recently due to tendency of unifying most of transmission technique to ethernet. This paper studied the design of MAC which contains high layer interface, transmit engine, flow control block, receive engine, reconciliation sublayer, configuration block, statistics block, and XGMll interface block. Performance evaluation was performed using C language for 10cbps ethernet Data Link to design the optimum hardware, then internal FIFO and initial parameters were evaluated. When offered load is $95\%$, the size of the internal FIFO is required 512-word. When offered load is $97\%$, the size of the internal FIFO is required 1024-word. Based on the result of performance evaluation, MAC was designed in VHDL Language and verified using simulator. MAC core that processes 64-bit data, operates at 168.549MHz and hence supports the maximum 10.78Gbps. The designed MAC core is applicable to an area that needs a high-speed data processing of 10Gbps or more.

Ethernet has been given a greater attention recently due to tendency of unifying most of transmission technique(not only LAN, but MAN and WAN) to ethernet. Performance evaluation was performed using C language for 10Gbps ethernet Data Link to design the optimum hardware, then internal FIFO size was evaluated. In this paper, MAC core for 10Gbps ethernet which contains high layer interface, transmit engine, flow control block, receive engine, reconciliation sublayer, configuration block, statistics block, and XGMII interface block was designed using VHDL language and Xilinx 6.2i tool and verified using Model_SIM 5.7G simulator. According to the specification of 10Gbps ethernet, MAC core with 64-bit data path should support 156.25MHz in order to support 10Gbps. The designed MAC core that process 64-bit data, operates at 168.549MHz and hence supports the maximum 10.78Gbps data processing. The designed MAC core is applicable to an area that needs a high-speed data processing of 10Gbps or more.
A radiotracer technique has been developed to monitor the rotational movement of two piston rings in one cylinder during engine operation. The rings were labeled with two different kinds of radioisotopes, i.e. $^{60}$ Co and $^{192}$ Ir, for identification of the top ring from the second ring. The radiotracers were implanted in a small hole bored on the inner side of each piston ring. The rings were installed in a single cylinder hydrogen engine and three Nal scintillation detectors were mounted around the engine block to measure the gamma radiation. The angle of ring-gap orientation was determined from the radiation counts measured with the three detectors during engine operation. Two windows (upper window for $^{60}$ Co and lower window for $^{192}$ Ir) were set on each ratemeter to count radiation from the two isotopes separately. Procedure to convert the radiation counts to the position of the ring gap was established. With the software programmed with MS-Visualbasic, radiation counts were compared with the reference responses that were measured at angular intervals of 10$^{\circ}$for each piston ring in advance of the experiment. The result was used for the evaluation of the relationship between the orientation of ring-gaps and oil consumption. It was found that an increase in the oil consumption rate of a specific operation condition was closely related to the relative phase angle of the two piston rings.

Natural gas is one of clean fuels that can replace petroleum-based fuels, because it has low exhaust emission, comparatively high thermal efficiency and abundant deposits. In this addition, owing to high octane number and wide lean flammability limit, it has a strong point to increase the compression ratio. For this reason, the research is being actively executed to increase the generating power and thermal efficiency of the engine by raising the compression ratio through utilization of high octane number relevant to development of CNG engine. In this study, 0.63L single cylinder diesel engine has been used to alter easily compression ratio. Compression ratio has gotten under control by modifying the thickness of gasket between cylinder head and block without major structural modifications. As the result, as compression ratio has increased, generating power and fuel consumption ratio have been improved. As for emission concentration, as compression ratio has increased, THC concentration has been decreased while exhause concentration of NOx increased. In case compression ratio has excessively increased, brake output decrease and cycle variation have been increased. As the result acquired by analyzing brake output, fuel consumption ratio, cycle variation and exhaust, the engine driving condition has acquired $\varepsilon=13$ as the optimal compression ratio in this study.

This paper summarizes a design procedure of radiated noise from engine blocks of marine engines. This air-borne noise is one of the significant noise contributors including the aeroacoustic noise due to intake and exhaust and the re-radiation due to structure-borne noise. Excitation forces by engine operations are evaluated taking into account the power generation mechanism from the burning process to the subsequence motion of internal parts; piston, connecting rod, and crank shaft. The acoustic transfer vector method is incorporated to effectively simulate the radiated noise field under the various operation conditions. A contribution analysis for the various excitations to the radiated noise is conducted. It is found that the firing pressure is the main source of the radiated noise, and so the structure of the cylinder can be modified to significantly reduce the radiated noise from the engine block.
