  • Unlike traditional lightings, LED lighting is one of objects that sends user an emotional segments through brightness control from various color temperature and dimming control. Also, within present interior lighting environment, emotional researches about traditional fluorescent lamp and newly implemented LED lighting environment are in active progress. Despite the fact adjectives describing emotions and scale modeling have been repeatedly used in many cases for a long time, there seems to be a lack of results in reliability, and there is a limitation for applying into actual lighting design. The purpose of this study is to construct an actual sized test-bed, which is used to draw out one's emotional words of behavior patterns from inner emotional experiences about lighting environment in an office space. Also, having fluorescent lamp and LED lighting as the main test subjects, we have tested emotional parts according to the changes of color temperature and adjective vocabularies chosen from user's action, and we have compared and analyzed the drawn out data. • In order to design the products that impression or emotional taste influence the purchase, feedback is necessary as useful data for better idea sketches through users emotional evaluation in early stage of design process. On the other hand, it was required to make judgments individually in previous image evaluations for emotional evaluations such as semantic differential method (SD method) that objects have been considered as classified tendency. However those SD methods are not enough to reflect flexible human capability with similarity judgment in object perceptual process. Therefore, this study proposes a classification of stimulus based on intuitive judgment and a hierarchical image evaluation method based on analysis of hierarchical process and fuzzy integration. The evaluation will be conducted through the order of process, intuitive classification of objective stimulus and items, definition of representatives in each class. Evaluation for each image of the stimulus, calculation of prior raking based on fuzzy integration. The evaluation supportive software is developed to conduct this evaluation process under interactive environments.

  • As the online game which is possible of large-scale multiple access enjoys popularity, the number of development by many online game manufacturers came to increase exponentially. But, the reason why the qualitative expansion pace cannot follow the pace of the quantitative expansion on games is that most of them are paltry enterprises except the leading enterprises which are occupying few competitive advantages, so there is no well-established production procedure, and accurate test before the launch isn't accompanied. Therefore, it doesn't cope flexibly to the expectable results. Now, important function is not embodied through the game feature checking stage of the same feature or is under the situation being used in finding out the fatal error of the specific parts. To this, this study collects the emotional vocabulary in the games to suggest the evaluation system that can evaluate the emotion the user feels while playing the game with the usage of the evaluation system that is leaned toward the existing usage evaluation system, and through factor analysis, we classify them into interactivity, interface and information factors and suggest the emotion evaluation system while designing the evaluation questions according to it.

  • This study researched the relationship between the element of "Favorable and Friendly" emotion on product design and the consumer's reaction to it. The emotional elements used here were proposed in the existing study. The research method was divided into 1st test and 2nd test. In the 1st test result, Favorable was related to "want to own, simple, new product and high-class", and also connected with "digital product, gaming product and computers". The products related to Friendly had association with the items about "interesting, cute, familiar, warmth and soft", and also connected with "simple product (toylike, household items, etc), low-price product, product which likes a friend, soft product, kitchen product and beauty treatments product, and so on". In the 2nd test, the preference of emotional product was high than general product, and it was known from the evaluation about design preference and design elements. If the preference was high following the order as: "Formativeness> Trend> Aesthetics> Color", the difference among the scores were small. And then the result about the relationship of emotional design factor "Favorable & Friendly" and evaluation of design preference & design elements was extraction.

  • The purpose of this study is developing the quantify the seat belt pulling Noise index and evaluation method. This paper presents the objective method to evaluate the emotional feeling about the pulling Noise of the seat belt. The physical quantification is required to objectively evaluate the emotional feeling of the pulling Noise. This is called the "Noise metric." The Noise metric is should correlated to the subjective rating of the pulling Noise. The pulling Noise index is developed throughout the linear regression of the Noise metric and the subjective rating. The developed index is used for the objective evaluation of the emotional feeling about the pulling Noise of a seat belt throughout the modification of seat belt components.

  • The purpose of this study was to explore and examine the relationship between mother-child emotional availability and preschoolers' story stem narrative response. Eighty two 4-year-old preschoolers and their mothers participated in this study. This study used the following translated evaluation tools: Emotional Availability Scales(EA, 3rd edition) designed by Biringen and colleagues(1998) to examine the quality of the emotional relationship between mother and her child, and the MacArthur Story Stem Battery(MSSB) developed by Bretherton and colleagues with the MacArthur Narrative Group(1990) to measure preschoolers' narrative responses. The following statistical analyses were preformed descriptive, cluster analysis, and One-way ANOVA. The findings were as follows: First, 4 clusters of the narrative responses of 4-year-old preschoolers were prosocial story tellers, avoidant/dysregulated story tellers, constrained story tellers, and anxious story tellers. Second, the preschoolers in the prosocial cluster showed a high level of mother-child emotional availability and the preschoolers in the avoidant/dysregulated cluster showed a low level of mother-child emotional availability.

  • We made Korean IAPS through measuring Korean university students' emotional response(arousal and emotional valence) about the whole 956 IAPS pictures made by Lang et al.(2005). In addition, we examined the emotional difference between American and Korean by comparing the response of original American IAPS and those of Korean IAPS. The results showed that both response of arousal and emotional valence in Korean were highly correlated with those in American respectively. In details, two groups showed differences as well as similarities. Korean showed higher arousal response than American, but in both groups women showed higher arousal response than men. When examining the emotional valence of positive, neutral, and negative stimuli categorized by American IAPS, Korean showed more modest emotional valence than American, and this group difference was the same in both men and women. In particular, Korean women showed more negative emotional valence than Korean men, but American women showed more extreme emotional valence than American men. These results suggest that there are some cultural and sex differences in the emotional response, and that researchers have to consider them when studying with IAPS stimuli.
