고접촉 서비스 종업원의 유머 스타일과 감정노동 및 직무만족, 이직의도와의 관계에 관한 연구 (Employees' Humor Style, Emotional Labor, Job Satisfaction, and Turnover Intention among High-Contact Service Employees)

  • Purpose - Most studies related to emotional labor have been conducted in the low-contact service industry rather than the high-contact service industry. Since the subjects of this study were golf service assistants, working in an industry in which the interaction and contact between customers and employees are considerable and the degree of customization is high, this study is significant. Thus, we would like to focus on the relationship between the humor style of golf service assistants and emotional labor. Humor style was divided into two styles-adaptive humor and maladaptive humor. Emotional labor was divided into two dimensions-surface acting and deep acting. In addition, we identify the relationship between emotional labor, job satisfaction, and turnover intention. Research design, data, & methodology - This study focuses on the humor styles in the golf service industry, among golf service assistants, on their emotion labor, and verifies the relationship between emotion labor and work satisfaction or job turnover intention. Based on the outcome, a total of four hypotheses were set up. To verify the hypotheses, surveys were conducted on the golf service assistants working in two golf fields in the region of Busan as well as its neighboring area. A total of 250 copies of the questionnaire were distributed. Subsequently, a total of 227 valid questionnaire copies, after excluding improper responses, were used in the analysis. After verifying the reliability and feasibility of variances, Amos 18.0 was used to implement the structure method so as to verify the study hypotheses. As a result of this analysis, the suitability of the entire model was considerably appropriate to the standard value, and the level is adequate to accommodate the study model completely. Results - First, it was found that the adaptive humor of golf service assistants had a positive effect on deep acting and maladaptive humor had a positive effect on surface acting. Second, It was found that employees' satisfaction with their job was reduced through surface acting, and those employees who experienced positive emotional labor in the form of deep acting were more satisfied with their job. Third, surface acting among employees increased turnover intention, but deep acting reduced it. Finally, the relationship between job satisfaction and the turnover intention of golf service assistants in the golf service industry was examined. Conclusions - First, the adaptive humor of the golf assistants in the golf service industry had a positive effect on their expression behavior. Second, deep acting increased their job satisfaction while their surface acting had a noticeably negative effect on their job satisfaction. Third, the surface acting of the emotion labor dimensions that the golf service assistants experience increases their turnover intention while their deep acting decreases their turnover intention. Finally, when analyzing the relationship between job satisfaction and turnover intention of the golf service assistants, it was found that the turnover intention decreased when their job satisfaction is increased.

명화감상과 연계된 확장활동이 유아의 창의성 및 정서지능에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of the Extension Activity with Famous Paintings on Young Children's Creativity and Emotional Intelligence)

  • 본 연구는 명화감상과 연계된 확장활동이 유아의 창의성 및 정서지능에 미치는 영향에 어떠한 효과가 있는지 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 B광역시에 위치한 C어린이집과 S어린이집 만 5세 유아 31명을 대상으로 실험집단은 명화감상과 연계된 확장활동을 비교집단은 주제별 대그룹활동을 진행하였다. 창의성 측정도구는 김영채(2002)가 번안한 Torrance의 창의성 검사 중 유아에게 적합한 도형검사(Thinking Creatively with Pictures, TTCT: Firural)를 사용하였으며 정서지능 측정도구는 이영자 외(2000)가 개발한 유아용 정서지능 평가도구를 사용하였다. 그 결과 명화감상과 연계된 확장활동은 유아의 창의성 하위요인인 유창성, 독창성, 제목의 추상성 발달에 효과적인 것으로 나타났으며, 명화감상과 연계된 확장활동은 정서지능 하위요인에 모두 통계적으로 유의미하게 나타났다. 이와 같은 결과는 명화감상활동이 유아의 창의성 및 정서지능 발달에 효과적인 것을 나타내 주는 것이며 명화감상과 연계된 확장활동은 의미 있는 교수 방법으로 유아의 통합적 발달 증진에 효과적임을 시사한다.

의사소통 훈련 프로그램이 간호사의 의사소통능력, 감성지능(EQ), 자존감 및 대인관계능력에 미치는 효과에 대한 사례연구 (A case study on the effect of communication training program on nurse's communication ability, emotional intelligence (EQ), self - esteem and interpersonal ability)

  • 본 연구는 의사소통 훈련을 받은 실험집단과 그렇지 않은 대조집단 사이의 의사소통능력, 감성지능, 자존감과 대인관계능력의 차이를 비교하는 비동등성 유사실험 연구이다. 연구대상은 C시 소재의 D대학병원에 근무하는 21명의 간호사를 실험집단으로, 21명의 간호사를 대조집단으로 구성하여 2017년 4월부터 5월까지, 실험집단에게는 의사소통능력, 감성지능, 자존감 및 대인관계능력 향상을 위한 의사소통 훈련 프로그램을 주 1회 2시간씩 총 4회기를 진행하였고, 연구의 효과성 검정을 위하여 사전, 사후 검사를 실시하였다. 자료 분석은 SPSS for Window 23을 이용하여 사전사후검사의 평균과 표준편차, 독립표본 Mann-Whitney의 U검증, 대응표본 Wilcoxon 부호 순위 검증을 실시하였다. 연구결과 실험집단과 훈련을 받지 않은 대조집단에서 의사소통능력(Z=-3.361, p<.05), 감성지능(Z=-2.209, p<.05), 자존감(Z=-1.633, p<.05), 대인관계능력(Z=-2.577, p<.05)으로 나타나, 의사소통훈련 프로그램 후 실험집단의 의사소통능력, 감성지능(EQ), 자존감 및 대인관계능력 점수가 모두 유의하게 증가하였으며, 모든 가설은 지지되었다. 이러한 결과를 볼 때 임상현장에서 간호업무 수행 시 의사소통 훈련프로그램을 활용한다면 의사소통능력, 감성지능(EQ), 자존감 및 대인관계능력의 향상으로 치료적인 의사소통과 효과적인 간호를 제공하여 환자의 만족감을 높이고 간호의 질 향상에도 기여할 것이다.

직장인의 스트레스 증상과 대처 관련 변인에 대한 연구: 정서적 지원, 자기효능감, 직무만족도, 직무성취도를 중심으로 (A study of worker's stress symptoms and coping related variables: Focusing on emotional support, self-efficacy, job-satisfaction and job-performance)

  • 이 연구에서는 직장인의 스트레스 증상과 대처 관련 변인들 사이의 관계를 분석하는 데 주된 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 정서적 지원(가족, 직장동료, 직장상사), 자기효능감(자기조절, 사회성, 관계, 어려움극복, 업무처리), 직무만족도, 직무성취도가 스트레스 증상 및 대처에 미치는 영향력의 정도를 분석하였다. 분석대상은 교사 559명(초 205, 중 203, 고 151; 남 132, 여 427)이었다. 분석결과, 학교급별로 초, 중, 고등학교 교사는 스트레스 증상과 대처에서 차이가 없었다. 그러나 성별로는 유의한 차이가 있었는데, 여자 교사가 남자 교사보다 스트레스 증상이 높았으나 대처도 더 잘 하였다. 정서적 지원, 자기효능감, 직무성취도, 직무만족도 변인을 투입하여 중다회귀분석 하였을 때, 스트레스 증상에 대해 남녀 교사 모두 직무만족도가 의미 있는 부적인 영향력을 나타내었다. 스트레스 대처에 대해서는 남자 교사 경우에 어려움극복효능감이, 여자 교사 경우에 어려움극복효능감, 동료의 정서적 지원, 직무성취도, 가족의 정서적 지원이 의미 있는 정적인 영향력을 나타내었다. 따라서 남녀 교사 모두 높은 직무만족도는 스트레스 증상을 완화하는데 기여하는 것으로 확인되었다. 또한 남녀 교사 모두 높은 어려움극복효능감은 스트레스의 효율적 대처에 기여하였으며, 여자 교사 경우에는 이외에도 동료나 가족의 정서적 지원 및 직무성취도가 스트레스 대처에 도움이 되었다.

Effects of Emotional Regulation Processes on Adaptive Selling Behavior and Sales Performance

  • While the role of emotional antecedents of effective selling behavior would be important, the issue has not been fully addressed in the sales literature. To fill this gap, we conceptualize and empirically examine the relationships among salesperson's emotional regulation processes such as emotional intelligence (EI) and emotional labor (EL), effective selling behavior, and sales performance on the basis of educational, occupational, social psychology literature and marketing literature (e.g., Henning-Thurau, Groth, Paul, and Gremler 2006; Kidwell et al. 2011; Liu et al. 2008; Mayer, Salovey, and Caruso 2008). First, salesperson's EI is defined as his or her capability that enables correct perceptions about emotional situations in sales interactions. The EI is expected to work as psychological resources for different types of EL (i.e., deep acting and surface acting) to be performed by salesperson as emotional expression strategies (e.g., Lie et al. 2008). It is, then, expected that the features of EL selected by the salesperson would lead to different levels of adaptive selling behavior (ASB) and thereby sales performance (Monaghan 2006). Further, given that salesperson's customer orientation (CO) is found to be an important correlate of ASB (Franke and Park 2006), it is expected that CO would moderate the relationship between EL and ASB (Rozell, Pettijohn, and Parker 2004). Hence, this research attempts to shed additional light on emotionally-driven (EL) as well as cognitively-driven (CO) antecedents of ASB (Frank and Park 2006). The findings of the survey research, done with 336 salespersons in insurance and financial companies, are summarized as follows. First, salespersons with a high level of EI are found to use both deep acting (regulating the emotions themselves) and surface acting (controlling only emotional expressions) in a versatile way, when implementing EL. Second, the more the salesperson performs deep acting, the more he or she shows ASB. It is, then, important for salespersons to use deep acting more frequently in the EL process in order to enhance the quality of interacting with customers through ASB. On the other hand, the salesperson's surface acting did not have a significant relationship with ASB. Moreover, CO was found to moderate the relationship between the salesperson's deep acting and ASB. That is, the context of high CO culture and individual salesperson's deep acting would synergistically make the selling efforts adaptive to customer preferences. Conceptualizing and empirically verifying the antecedent roles of important emotional constructs such as EI and EL in salesperson's effective selling behavior (ASB) and sales performance is a major theoretical contribution in the sales literature. Managerially, this research provides a deeper understanding on the nature of tasks performed by salespersons in service industries and a few guidelines for managing the sales force. First, sales organizations had better consciously assess EI capacity in the selection and nurturing processes of salespersons, given that EI can efficiently drive EL and the resulting effective selling behavior and performance. Further, the concept of EL could provide a framework to understand the salespersons' emotional experiences in depth. Especially, sales organizations may well think over how to develop deep acting capabilities of their sales representatives. In this direction, the training on deep acting strategies would be an essential task for improving effective selling behavior and performance of salespersons. This kind of training had better incorporate the perspectives of customers such that many customers can actually discern whether salespersons are doing either surface acting or deep acting. Finally, based on the synergistic effects of deep acting and CO culture, how to build and sustain CO is always an ever-important task in sales organizations. While the prior sales literature has emphasized the process and structure of highly customer-oriented sales organization, our research not only corroborates the important aspects of customer-oriented sales organization, but also adds the important dimension of competent sales representatives who can resonate with customers by deep acting for sales excellence.

기혼여성의 비정규 노동과 일/가족 갈등 -학습지 교사를 중심으로 (Married Women's contingent Work and Work/Family Conflicts - Concentrating on Study Paper Instructors)

  • The goal of this study is to analyze the complicated and diverse nature of the relationship between work and family life for the study paper instructors of whom are married women. The survey data for these analyses were from an in depth interview which was conducted with the 21 contingent female workers as study samples. They are the married women, who started to work or returned to work after an absence to raise a family. The results showed that in reality the contingent female worker faced worse working conditions than the full time female labour force, even if women were determined to be a study paper instructor to meet work and family demand. It was the contingent women worker with a short time work experience who were in the worst position tlo adjust their working arrangements to suit their family needs and were confronted with the greater inter-role friction as a vulnerable group. The study revealed that instrumental and emotional support of husband has a positive effect on maintaining job role and lessening role conflicts and stress of the women. The work/family relationship indicated its double side, conflict and support. The women simply could not afford to depend on the psychological support form family in the midst of the inferior employment conditions and the absence of social support. This strategy, however, was based on the family ideology and the patriarchal gender division of labor. It caused the overload, stress and poor health of women involving some risk to give up the work.

위계적 선형모형을 이용한 유아 인성 발달 영향 요인 연구: 교사 정서적 지원의 영향력을 중심으로 (Exploring Predictors Affecting Children's Character Development Using Hierarchical Linear Modeling: Focusing on Effects of Child Care Teachers' Emotional Support)

  • 본 연구에서는 보육교사가 일과 중에 학급 유아를 대상으로 실행하는 정서적 지원 수준이 유아의 인성에 미치는 영향을 살펴보고자, 위계적 선형모형을 사용하여 교사의 정서적 지원 및 유아 개인의 성과 월령, 교사의 학력과 경력, 그리고 학급의 교사 대 유아 비율 및 기관설립유형이 유아의 인성 특성인 자기통제, 주장성, 협력성 및 책임성에 미치는 영향력을 분석하였다. 연구대상은 만5세 유아 646명과 이들의 담임교사 32명, 주양육자 555명으로, HLM 7.0을 이용하여 수집된 자료를 분석하였다. 연구 결과 교사가 보고한 유아의 자기통제, 주장성 및 협력성은 학급 간 차이가 있었으나, 부모가 보고한 자기통제, 주장성, 협력성 및 책임성은 학급 간 차이가 없었다. 또한 남아보다 여아가, 월령이 높을수록 유아의 인성 특성의 수준이 높은 것으로 나타났으나, 교사의 정서적 지원뿐만 아니라 학력, 경력 및 교사 대 유아 비율과 기관설립유형은 학급 간 차이를 예측하지 못하였다. 그러나 학급 수준의 예측변인 투입 이후에도 교사가 지각한 유아의 인성 특성에서 여전히 학급 간 차이가 존재하는 것으로 밝혀져, 추후 연구에서는 인성 특성의 학급 간 차이에 영향을 미치는 예측변인을 추가적으로 탐색하는 것이 요구됨을 시사하였다.

사람과 로봇의 사회적 상호작용을 위한 로봇의 가치효용성 기반 동기-감정 생성 모델 (Robot's Motivational Emotion Model with Value Effectiveness for Social Human and Robot Interaction)

  • People would like to be socially engaged not only with humans but also with robots. One of the most common ways in the robotic field to enhance human robot interaction is to use emotion and integrate emotional concepts into robots. Many researchers have been focusing on developing a robot's emotional expressions. However, it is first necessary to establish the psychological background of a robot's emotion generation model in order to implement the whole process of a robot's emotional behavior. Therefore, this article suggests a robot's motivational emotion model with value effectiveness from a Higgins' motivation definition, regulatory focus theory, and Circumplex model. For the test, a game with the best-two-out-of-three rule is introduced. Each step of the game was evaluated by the proposed model. As the results imply, the proposed model generated psychologically appropriate emotions for a robot in the given situation. The empirical survey remains for future work to prove that this research improves social human robot interaction.

예술치료교육의 개념 정립과 정의 (Delineating and Defining School-Based Arts Therapy)

  • 예술치료교육은 예술치료의 하위개념으로 학교 현장을 중심으로 새롭게 개념화 되고 있는 영역으로 본 연구에서는 학교 중심의 예술치료교육의 대상, 목표, 예술매체의 치료적 특성을 살펴보고 개념 정립과 정의를 고찰하는 데에 목적을 두었다. 예술치료교육은 음악, 미술, 그리고 운동/동작 등의 예술매체를 사용하여 아동의 심리 정서적 문제에 대한 치료를 바탕으로 심리사회적 문제를 극복함으로써 교육적 잠재력을 실현시키고 전반적 성장을 돕는 통합적이고 전인적인 접근이다. 예술치료교육은 예술치료와 학교라는 현장성, 학교의 아동과 청소년을 대상으로 하며, 이에 따른 치료 목표도 타 임상 현장과는 다른 차이점을 가지고 있다. 방과 후 학교에서부터 시작되어 증가하고 있는 수요에 따라 예술치료교육 전문성 강화 방안과 활성화에 필요한 전략들을 모색할 필요가 있다.

요양시설 규모에 따른 직원의 감정노동, 직무만족이 조직몰입에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Emotional Labor and Job Satisfaction on Organizational Commitment in Staffs by the Size of Facility)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the factors influencing organizational commitment of staffs according to the size of long-term care facility. Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was designed. Data collection was conducted for a total of 315 employees in long-term care facilities located in Seoul, Gyeonggi, Gangwon, Gyeongbuk, and Chungnam. Data were collected from July 2018 to October 2018 using questionnaires which included emotional labor, job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and general characteristics. In order to confirm the differences in the size of the facility, the facilities with less than 30 beds, those with 30-99 beds, and those with more than 100 beds were analyzed. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Mann-Whitney U test, Kruskal-Wallis H test, Pearson's correlation analysis, and multiple regression. Results: The job satisfaction and organizational commitment were significantly different according to the size of long-term care facility. Organizational commitment was influenced by 'external job satisfaction' in less than 30 beds, was influenced by 'external job satisfaction, and attentiveness to required display rules of emotional labor' in 30~99 beds, and then was influenced by 'type of job, and internal job satisfaction' in more than 100 beds. The predict variables accounted for 23.0%, 41.0%, and 34.0% of organizational commitment respectively. Conclusion: These findings show that tailored interventions should be provided depending on the size of facility in order to increase organizational commitment. In addition, organizational commitment programs should be developed by considering strategies to reduce the emotional labor and to increase job satisfaction.
