수학 담화에서 나타나는 교사의 감성적 언어 빈도 분석 (The Frequency Analysis of Teacher's Emotional Response in Mathematics Class)

  • 본 연구는 텍스트 마이닝 기법을 활용하여 수학수업에서 나타나는 교사의 감성적 언어를 확인하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 우수 수업 동영상을 활용하여 수업에서 발생하는 교사의 수업 언어 데이터를 수집하였다. 추출한 비정형 데이터에 대한 분석 과정은 데이터 수집, 데이터 전처리, 텍스트 마이닝 분석의 세 가지 단계로 진행하였다. 분석 결과 수학 수업에서 오고가는 담화 중에서 교사의 감성적 반응을 나타내는 언어는 거의 나타나지 않았으며, 이를 통해 수업의 정의적 영역 측면에서의 시사점을 도출하였다.

3D 얼굴 모델의 코믹한 감정 표현 (A Comic Emotional Expression for 3D Facial Model)

  • In this paper we propose a 3D emotional expression method using a comic model for effective sign-language communications. Until now we have investigated to produce more realistic facial and emotional expression. When representing only emotional expression, however, a comic expression could be better than the real picture of a face. The comic face is a comic-style expression model in which almost components except the necessary parts like eyebrows, eyes, nose and mouth are discarded. We represent emotional expression using Action Units(AU) of Facial Action Coding System(FACS). Experimental results show a possibility that the proposed method could be used efficiently for sign-language image communications.

대중음악의 시각화를 통한 텍스타일 프린트 패턴디자인 발상 (Creating the Idea of Textile Print Pattern Design Using the Visual Expression of Popular Music)

  • This study develops textile pattern design ideas created through the visualization of music. Methods of auditory and synesthesia were employed to analyze various attributes of popular music genres and appoint language image, shape image, and color image to obtain their interrelationships. This study provides data that can be used to express emotional images on textile print pattern designs. This research used different genres of popular music as stimuli. The language image was extracted and introduced to the overall color scheme; in addition, the color image was verified. The analysis of the color image was executed by applying it with the color set image scale of I.R.I colors. Then, the color image of the target genre of popular music was examined and analyzed through a color tone system. The preference in shape image was realized through visual images based on basic principles of points, lines, and sides composition; subsequently, an analysis of the emotional image of popular music followed. An examination of the emotional images of different popular music genres have led to the discovery that language image, color image, and shape image all share a common emotional image. There was also a realization that similarity and interrelationship exists in language, color, and shape images experienced by listening to popular music.

Emotional Communication on Interactive Typography System

  • In this paper, we propose a novel method for developing expressive typography authoring tools with personal emotions. Our goal is to implement an interactive typography system that does not rely on any particular language and provides an easy, natural user interface and allows for immediate interaction. For this purpose, we converted the text data entered by a user to image data. The image data was then used for interaction with the user. The data was synchronized with the user's skeleton information obtained from the depth camera. We decomposed the characters using the formality of language to provide a typographical movement that responds more dynamically to the user's motion. Thus, this system provides interaction as a unit of characters rather than as a whole character, allowing the user to have emotional and aesthetic emotional immersion into his or her creation.

대구·경북지역 언어재활사의 공감능력과 직무만족도 간의 관련성에 대한 융합 연구 (A Convergence Study on the Relationship between Empathy Abilities and Job Satisfaction of Speech and Language Rehabilitation in Daegu and Gyeongbuk)

  • 본 연구는 대구·경북지역 언어재활사의 개인적 특성과 공감능력 및 직무만족도 간의 관계와 특히 인지적 및 정서적 공감능력과 직무만족도 간의 관계를 파악하여 언어재활사의 직무만족도 향상을 위한 기초 자료를 제공하기 위한 융합연구이다. 연구대상은 대구·경북지역에서 근무하는 언어재활사를 대상으로 총 111명의 설문조사를 분석하였다. 자료분석은 연구 목적에 따라 SPSS/PC 21.0 통계 프로그램을 이용하여 t-test와 ANOVA 및 상관분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과 개인적 특성과 공감능력 및 직무만족도 간의 관련성이 높게 나타났고, 공감능력의 하위 요인인 인지적 및 정서적 공감능력과 직무만족도 간의 관련성이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 토대로 추후 집체 및 소집단이나 온·오프라인 교육 등 다양한 교육 프로그램 연계와 대학에서의 공감능력 향상을 위한 비교과 및 교과목 개설이 필요하다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 그리고 향후 공감능력 향상을 위한 전국 단위 언어재활사를 대상으로 한 비교과 및 교과목 이수여부에 따른 언어재활사의 공감능력과 직무만족도를 알아보기 위한 후속연구가 필요하다.

Retroalimentación Positiva de los Profesores Nativos de ELE

  • A teacher's talk does not make a simple delivery of information. It reflects the role of the teacher, since the language used by a teacher intervenes in a crucial way in the complex mechanisms that underlie teaching and learning of foreign languages. In this sense, the ways in which teachers give feedback have an impact on the process, not only of learning, but also of teaching. The important role of emotional factors in learning has resonated strongly in the intuition of many second and foreign language teachers. As a result, over the past three decades, research on foreign language acquisition has confirmed the hypothesis that language learning is enhanced by rapport between teacher and student. This study analyses the positive feedback given by native Spanish teachers in the context of university classes in Korea. The positive words from a language teacher are related to forming emotional factors such as motivation, attitude, interest, self-confidence, self-esteem, anxiety, and empathy, which directly influence in the acquisition of Spanish. 35 hours of oral practical classes taught by three native teachers of Colombian, Spanish and Mexican nationality were examined. According to the result, almost all the correct answers from students were corresponded with some type of positive feedback. The most frequent strategies are making a compliment, an approval, a repetition, and laughter or non-verbal cues. It is interesting to observe that teachers don't use only a single strategy to provide positive feedback, but instead combine multiple ways to enrich the positiveness of the feedback.

인관과 로봇의 다양한 상호작용을 위한 휴대 매개인터페이스 ‘핸디밧’ (A Portable Mediate Interface 'Handybot' for the Rich Human-Robot Interaction)

  • The importance of the interaction capability of a robot increases as the application of a robot is extended to a human's daily life. In this paper, a portable mediate interface Handybot is developed with various interaction channels to be used with an intelligent home service robot. The Handybot has a task-oriented channel of an icon language as well as a verbal interface. It also has an emotional interaction channel that recognizes a user's emotional state from facial expression and speech, transmits that state to the robot, and expresses the robot's emotional state to the user. It is expected that the Handybot will reduce spatial problems that may exist in human-robot interactions, propose a new interaction method, and help creating rich and continuous interactions between human users and robots.

고등학교 교과서 읽기 자료의 문제점과 개선 방안: 의사소통적 관점에서 (Issues and improvement plans for reading materials of high school English textbooks: From the communicative approach)

  • This study aims to examine the reading materials of high school English textbooks to propose the integration of the literary texts into reading materials in the classroom for development of communicative competence. Five kinds of high school English textbooks were critically examined in terms of three factors -limited text types, deficit of emotional adjectives and non-authenticity- selected by the author as characteristics of non-communicative language teaching materials. With regard to text types, more than half of the reading materials were expository and simple narratives. This imbalance of text types led materials to the deficit of emotional vocabulary. These factors seem to be closely related to the issue of authenticity of reading materials. Compared to the authentic texts, fabricated texts are likely to make reading vapid and boring task. On the basis of these results, some pedagogical suggestions are made.

Helping our Children with Homework: Homework as an Activity of Anxiety for First Generation Bilingual Korean American Mothers

  • This study aimed to understand communicative and socialization practices of immigrant bilingual families in everyday learning situations by examining interactions between parents and children in the United States. Drawn on language socialization theory and socio-cultural factors influencing immigrants, this study explored how three Korean American mothers struggled as they helped their children with homework by interviewing the mothers and observing mother-child interaction during homework time. The study paid attention to the emotional values of immigrant parents that they tried to teach their children who are members in two distinctive communities, such as Korean American and mainstream American. The findings showed that parental socialization practices had effects on children's emotional and social competence and at the same time the socialization process was bidirectional. Mothers started with Korean values, but they faced challenges with the English language, different demands for American homework, and children's rejection of their attempts. Mothers needed to change their strategy and borrow American ways of keeping emotional distance from their children by acknowledging their independence. Their struggles are discussed with attention to their language choice and culture.

이메일에 포함된 감성정보 관련 메타데이터 추출에 관한 연구 (Recognizing Emotional Content of Emails as a byproduct of Natural Language Processing-based Metadata Extraction)

  • 본 연구는 이메일에 나타난 감성정보 메타데이터 추출에 있어 자연언어처리에 기반한 방식을 적용하였다. 투자분석가와 고객 사이에 주고받은 이메일을 통하여 개인화 정보를 추출하였다. 개인화란 이용자에게 개인적으로 의미 있는 방식으로 콘텐츠를 제공함으로써 온라인 상에서 관계를 생성하고, 성장시키고, 지속시키는 것을 의미한다. 전자상거래나 온라인 상의 비즈니스 경우, 본 연구는 대량의 정보에서 개인에게 의미 있는 정보를 선별하여 개인화 서비스에 활용할 수 있도록, 이메일이나 토론게시판 게시물, 채팅기록 등의 텍스트를 자연언어처리 기법에 의하여 자동적으로 메타데이터를 추출할 수 있는 시스템을 구현하였다. 구현된 시스템은 온라인 비즈니스와 같이 커뮤니케이션이 중요하고, 상호 교환되는 메시지의 의도나 상대방의 감정을 파악하는 것이 중요한 경우에 그러한 감성정보 관련 메타데이터를 자동으로 추출하는 시도를 했다는 점에서 연구의 가치를 찾을 수 있다.
